00:00In 2003, Aaron Ralston went hiking alone in Utah's Blue John Canyon.
00:05One wrong step changed everything. A massive boulder crashed down,
00:09trapping his right arm against the canyon wall. No phone signal, no way to escape,
00:15and no one knew he was there. For the next 127 hours, Aaron was trapped. He rationed food,
00:22ran out of water, and drank his own urine just to stay alive. Rescue never came. Then he realized
00:28the truth. If he stayed, he would die. Using a dull multi-tool, Aaron broke the bones in his own
00:34arm and amputated it himself. He rappelled down the canyon, hiked for hours, and was finally
00:40rescued. Aaron Ralston survived because the human will to live is stronger than pain.
