00:00Unmatched, unprecedented, a cultural juggernaut, something we will never see again.
00:07The global impact is breathtaking.
00:10That's the only way I can describe it.
00:13Again, it's not something you could script.
00:16I think the relationship between designer and player was phenomenal.
00:23And to be able to see some of that from the inside.
00:27It's not as sexy on the inside.
00:30But it was kind of cool.
00:32It was just an incredible relationship.
00:36And then, I mean, I don't think Jordan gets enough credit for the whole collaboration thing you see going on right now.
00:51And probably particularly because the Jordan apparel has only been okay compared to the footwear.
00:58So, you know, an interesting story I'll share is it was 2006 or 5 or whatever.
01:08And I don't think I was working for the Jordan brand yet.
01:12But I had the opportunity to take the president of the brand at that time, which was Larry Miller.
01:22I had the opportunity to take him out to New York City for market travel.
01:25And market travel is when you go into the market and you find things that connect.
01:29You go to the hood, you go to Madison Avenue.
01:33And the point I want to make is I took the president to Fifth Avenue and we went into Louis and Christian Dior and all the top luxury brands.
01:49Because for me, that was Jordan was a luxury brand.
01:54The fact that it was housed in mom and pop stores or foot lockers or whatever.
02:01I mean, there was another level to that brand.
02:04And the consumers were telling you that.
02:07But in the early 2000s, you know, there was no Virgil.
02:09There was no Kanye.
02:10There were no people.
02:11You know, there were no designers or Virgil's level to connect the dots or there was no Yeezy.
02:17But those things wouldn't exist today if it wasn't for brand Jordan.
02:22So that's, you know, if you talk about connecting the dots.
