00:00Manila City officially launched its supplemental milk feeding program called Your Milk, Kaagapay ng Batang Maynila sa Paglaki in Tondom, Manila.
00:09The program aims to combat malnutrition and stunting among 21,651 preschoolers aged 3 to 5 who are enrolled in the city's Child Development Centers or CDCs.
00:22Manila Mayor Isco Moreno-Dumagoso led the program, underscoring the critical need for early nutrition and noting his dismay over the rising number of stunting cases in Manila, which he attributed to a lack of proper nutrition.
00:37This is the first local government unit to implement this type of supplemental milk program.
00:42In partnership with the National Dairy Authority, or NDA, the city chose to use fresh, locally sourced milk.
00:49Preschoolers across 467 CDCs and 436 barangays will receive milk three times a week for 90 days.
00:59The city's 423 child development workers, along with the Department of Health or DOH and other agencies, are partnering to ensure the program's smooth and honest implementation.
