00:00It is the Rhino Cup powered by Belos Sri Lanka versus Pakistan.
00:04It's the first T20i and we are at the Rangiri Dambulu International Stadium
00:10and we are looking ahead to a very, very interesting three-match T20i series.
00:16That was a pretty quick countdown.
00:20First ball, Bathum Nisankar is on strike.
00:26He'll get a bit of movement back into the right-hander.
00:30Hint of movement, but Nisankar leans into it.
00:36How about that? Outfield, very quick.
00:40Opening boundary and that was by no means a bad delivery.
00:47Also, like when I saw him the first time, man in picture, was he hits a long ball as well.
00:53That'll be four. Look at that goal.
00:58So, so quick. A hint of weight.
01:03Nisankar.
01:04The second boundary of the innings.
01:06They got rid of the slip though.
01:07Apesh. Midoff takes it. Kamil Mishara goes.
01:14That one loop.
01:19The noise off the bat was just not right.
01:22That's right. Mersa's been impressive so far.
01:25Mishara looking to be aggressive.
01:26He's Nortov two before this.
01:28Hadn't got much strike.
01:30Starved of strike and this time trying to hit his first boundary.
01:32Hurley ends up holding out to Midoff.
01:35Straight forward catch taken by Salman.
01:39Oh, nicely bowled.
01:43Just the two runs off the third over then.
01:46Sri Lanka are 14 for one.
01:49Oh, takes it on.
01:50Square leg underneath it.
01:53Oh!
01:54Morbid Nawaz almost built it.
02:01Batum Nisankar's gone.
02:03Oh, he tried to launch this one.
02:04You said how hard it is to play your strokes with confidence.
02:07Although we get just holding up a bit.
02:09And Pakistan have got their second.
02:11Pick it up on the onside.
02:14Good delivery.
02:15Back of a length.
02:16Got underneath it.
02:17But the timing.
02:18No way near the middle of the bat.
02:20And that was no way near the middle of the hand either.
02:21The first time around.
02:24The Sankar is gone for 12.
02:26Sri Lanka 15 for two.
02:30Good shot one.
02:32Ends the four.
02:32Sri Lanka are 16 for two.
02:39Nicely played.
02:40Nicely played.
02:42That will relieve the pressure.
02:45Short and wide.
02:47And Kosal Mendes was on top of it.
02:51This time.
02:52That is a very good shot.
02:55Perfect length.
02:57And Dananjadisilva found the length to his liking.
03:02And that area is open.
03:03And to go about the job.
03:06Another slow one.
03:08But it was too short.
03:10And good enough for Kosal Mendes to pick up another boundary.
03:14See what Fahim Ashraf has to be careful about is the length.
03:24Pingal.
03:27So the power play is done.
03:29The first six overs.
03:30Ten runs of that over.
03:3235 for two.
03:33That's close.
03:38That is close.
03:39And given.
03:43Has impacted the game straight away Shadav.
03:46Well if there was no bat.
03:49I don't think he should review it.
03:51He's thinking about it.
03:52But he's running out.
03:53Oh he's gone for it.
03:54So let's see.
03:55He's coming.
03:57Original decision is out.
03:59Pitching in line.
03:59Impact in line.
04:01Vickers.
04:02Umpire's goal.
04:03Go back to on field.
04:04Umpire Chamara please.
04:08Chamara you can stay with your original out decision.
04:11Turned out to be an umpire's goal.
04:13But it was very straight forward.
04:15If there was no bat.
04:18To make a straight away.
04:19Washer inside edge.
04:23He's been given.
04:31Not reading the googly on that occasion.
04:33Dananjad De Silva.
04:36Inside edge.
04:37And a good catch behind the stumps.
04:39So let's see.
04:39This is confirmation.
04:40Definite wrong end.
04:43Looking to drive.
04:44Yes.
04:44Under edge.
04:47Almost getting stuck in the midriff.
04:49But doesn't matter.
04:50He's held on to it.
04:51He's surprised.
04:52And now.
04:54A buster no.
04:55And then a yes.
04:56Sri Lanka losing.
04:57Vickers close to each other.
05:00Oh.
05:01Goodness.
05:03Played it from his off stump.
05:04Just played it so late.
05:08I love the ball to spin back a little bit.
05:11And took it.
05:13Virtually.
05:13From his off stump there.
05:17But he's picked that up.
05:19And he's got hold of it.
05:20You could just tell by the sound of ball on bat.
05:23Got right underneath that.
05:25Planted that foot to the pitch of the ball.
05:27And launched it properly.
05:28Going to get a partnership of some stature with themselves.
05:32The launching pad for those last five overs.
05:39Down the wicket.
05:40And he finds the man in.
05:42Tips it over the boundary.
05:44Saib Zaddaferan there.
05:45Would have been third for Shaddaf.
05:48He was in good position to take that.
05:50He eventually just helps it on his way.
05:52In a way he knew that boundary rep was right behind him.
05:55But the better.
05:57Could have had his heart in his mouth at this stage.
05:59And they're just trying to rebuild.
06:01Holy.
06:03Oh.
06:07He just felt there was a sound there.
06:10Oh has he?
06:11Oh he's walking.
06:13You're right about that.
06:14There was a sound.
06:16And suddenly very subdued celebration.
06:20Top spinner.
06:21Big heave on to the onside.
06:24A slight edge.
06:24Slight defection.
06:25And another good take.
06:27By Khan.
06:28Big appeal.
06:29Here's the celebration.
06:33Smile.
06:35Hit well.
06:36Down the ground.
06:39Asaranga gets a boundary for Sri Lanka.
06:42The bowlers use the win for grip.
06:44That's Apish.
06:45Here's another.
06:47No.
06:47He's put it down.
06:49Salman Mirza.
06:52I thought he had it.
06:54Just gets away from him.
06:56Ra brings in two.
06:57He uses his wrists.
06:58The fingers a lot.
07:00So it just holds its line.
07:02More runs.
07:03At least a couple.
07:08Ten off the over.
07:10Sri Lanka need more of those.
07:11Ninety for five.
07:14Hit well.
07:16He picked his spot so, so well.
07:18Lian again.
07:18You hit the top of the fielding.
07:25Flat and hard.
07:26Four more.
07:27Skids off the outfield.
07:30Outstanding stuff.
07:34That's safe.
07:35That's safe.
07:36It's running away again.
07:37100 on the board for Sri Lanka.
07:42It's taken a while.
07:45This partnership now 29 of 18.
07:48Hit well.
07:52Hassan Ranga.
07:55He's liking it down the ground.
07:58Now the last 30 balls abroad.
08:0050 runs for Sri Lanka.
08:02With the wickets falling.
08:03He's hit that.
08:04Long off.
08:06Takes it nicely.
08:07Fakha Zaman had a lot to do.
08:12Judged it very nicely.
08:13And that's the end of that partnership.
08:15Pulls slower.
08:17And look where he's aiming.
08:19He was going wider.
08:21But found the fielder.
08:23But still I think it's a good platform for Dasun Shanika.
08:26To try and express himself.
08:29But that's an important wicket for Pakistan.
08:34There.
08:35Flash your bat.
08:36And you've been finding fielders.
08:38One after another.
08:39This time Fahim Ashraf takes that catch.
08:42He will find himself a little unlucky.
08:44The ball was wide outside off.
08:46But he manages to play it straight to the fielder.
08:50Which started off way outside the offstump.
08:54Asked the batter to reach for it.
08:56He wasn't in control.
08:57But the fielder was.
09:02Gone.
09:04That's another wicket here.
09:06This time is Chameera who goes.
09:09Sri Lanka just not finding that accelerator.
09:12Chameera wasn't the right one.
09:16You need a bit of room outside the offstump to be able to hit the ball over extra.
09:22He was cramped.
09:23No timing.
09:24None so ever.
09:25Given most of that bowling.
09:27Also in the bar play.
09:28So a different outlook to it.
09:30Appealing for a court behind.
09:32But a very delayed appeal from Vaseem Jr.
09:37Can you face it there please?
09:38Can you face it there?
09:39Yes there's a clear spike.
09:44Clear spike has the ball next to the back.
09:46And the television umpire has made his decision.
09:49It means that Sri Lanka have been wrapped up in 19.2 overs.
09:53It was a good catch taken.
09:54A faint inside edge.
09:56It was picked up by the bowler.
09:57And eventually Sri Lanka all out for 128 in 19.2 overs with Mahesh Tiksana being that last dismissal.
10:06Popo.
10:09And the Golden Gate.
10:13Hey, thank you.
10:15And, what' that was necessary?
10:16Oh-ERT.
