Since resigned congressman Zaldy Co -- who has been charged in court with graft and non-bailable malversation of public funds -- is still a fugitive from justice, he is not entitled to any judicial relief, the Sandiganbayan declared.

00:00The Sandigan Bayan declared that former Akwabikol Partilist Representative Zaldiko
00:04is still a fugitive from justice and is not entitled to any judicial relief.
00:10With this, the court denied Ko's appeal to reconsider the cancellation of his passport
00:14and the ruling that he is a fugitive of justice.
00:18Earlier, the Supreme Court ruled that fugitives from justice are persons who evade criminal prosecution before the courts
00:24and those who flee after conviction in order to avoid punishment.
00:28The SC also stressed that fugitives from justice are barred from seeking judicial relief unless they voluntarily surrender.
00:36The Sandigan Bayan ordered the arrest of Ko along with 17 other officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways
00:42as well as the directors of SunWest Corporation last year, November 21st.
