00:00What's going on here YouTube and welcome back to another comic book video.
00:05This is the channel where we sit down and cover different comic book stories from Marvel, DC, and any other comic book company out there.
00:15Now, today, we are going to jump back over to Marvel Comics because over the last couple years we have been covering the ultimate Marvel Universe.
00:25Well, last week we covered the death of Spider-Man, the death of Peter Parker in the ultimate Marvel Universe.
00:34Well, today we're going to sit down and cover Ultimate Fallout.
00:39This right here is basically a soft reboot.
00:44What I mean is that with this book here, we learn the aftermath of Peter Parker's death in the ultimate Marvel Universe.
00:52But, this book also sets up the future of the ultimate Marvel Universe, or what I call Phase 3.
01:02Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Ultimates.
01:06Three new titles that we are going to begin covering after this video.
01:12So, I do hope you like today's video, and if you do, please hit that like button down below.
01:18But, here we go.
01:19The story opens up with a reminder that Spider-Man is dead in this universe.
01:25This is a huge thing because it is on the front page of today's newspaper.
01:31Then, we see how some of the characters are handling this situation.
01:35Where we pick up with Gwen Stacy first, and she tells us that she feels like she is cursed.
01:42Because, again, someone close to her had died.
01:45Peter Parker, her friend, someone she loved, is now dead.
01:50J. Jonah Jameson is another character who is having a hard time dealing with the fact that Peter Parker is now dead.
01:58Because, he learned a while back that Peter Parker was Spider-Man, and saw him as a hero at the tail end of the relationship.
02:06But, now, he hears that Spider-Man is dead.
02:10Johnny Storm, who became a close friend of Peter Parker, is also having a hard time dealing with the fact that his friend is dead.
02:18All he can do is let out a high-level amount of flames to show how angry he is at the fact that Peter Parker is now dead.
02:28We then see a bunch of thugs who are trying to steal a bunch of TVs from a random warehouse.
02:35Except, that is when we see someone appear to beat down on these thugs, and this person is able to beat them down very quickly.
02:44Where we learn that it is Kitty Pryde.
02:47Remember, in this universe, she was an ex-girlfriend of Peter Parker, who she still loved, and now he is dead.
02:55And, she is not taking it well at all.
02:57We do get a page of Flash Thompson, but honestly, it is not that important at all.
03:03Because, it is him just finding out that Peter Parker was Spider-Man.
03:09Then, we proceed to Mary Jane, where we see her at the bridge, where the Avengers and the Ultimates had their big battle.
03:17But, it is also the spot where Spider-Man was shot at by the Punisher.
03:21She is there looking for proof to show the world that it is thanks to Nick Fury, Spider-Man was killed.
03:28Except, she is caught by some of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, where of course, they go after her and capture her.
03:34This leads into her being confronted by Nick Fury.
03:38And, this is very important because she blames him for the death of Spider-Man.
03:44Except, Nick Fury is already blaming himself for the death of Spider-Man.
03:50And, so he lets her go.
03:52But, he is having a hard time processing the death of Spider-Man on his own.
03:57Picking up the next day, it is time for the funeral.
04:01Where we see Gwen Stacy and Aunt May riding in a limo that is owned by Tony Stark.
04:07Where Tony Stark tells her that he is paying for everything.
04:11But, also, we see Aunt May having a hard time going through this.
04:15When they arrive in front of the church, they all see a crowd of people outside of the church.
04:21Who want to mourn with Aunt May and Gwen Stacy.
04:24This is showing how much Spider-Man meant to the city of New York.
04:30To see him die, it is something the city cannot handle at all.
04:35But, she has to go through the process of the funeral.
04:40This leads into a heartfelt moment where you have Gwen Stacy and Aunt May walking towards the church.
04:46Until, a little girl stops them.
04:49When she asks if Aunt May was Spider-Man's mother.
04:52At first, she says no.
04:55Until, the girl points out that she was.
04:58The little girl goes on to say that Spider-Man saved her from a fire.
05:04And, that put a smile on Aunt May's face.
05:08Finally, we have Aunt May and Gwen Stacy sit down in the church.
05:13Where Aunt May is confronted by Captain America.
05:16This is a huge moment because you have Captain America tell her that he feels responsible for the death of Spider-Man.
05:26This leads into one of my favorite Aunt May moments in this universe.
05:31Because, you have Captain America tell her that it was his fault for Peter's death.
05:37That he told Peter Parker before he died that he was not ready to be a hero.
05:44That he has not earned the right.
05:46But, the bullet that was meant for Captain America instead was taken by Spider-Man.
05:52And, with that being said, you have Aunt May just snap and go off at Captain America.
05:59She pointed out that Spider-Man looked up to the heroes and wanted to be a part of their group.
06:07That Captain America had no right to come in and say that Peter Parker was not ready to be a hero after he has proven time and time again that he was ready.
06:20So, she slaps Captain America right in the face and runs out of the church.
06:28After she runs outside the church, she sees a crowd of people outside where it makes her freeze in place.
06:35And, she somewhat passes out on the ground.
06:38Where really, she becomes lightheaded.
06:41That is when she is greeted by J. Jonah Jameson.
06:44Who helps her up.
06:46And, we see him take her back inside as someone to help her go through the process of the funeral.
06:54Now, the story shifts over to focus on Thor.
06:57We have Thor sitting at the funeral of Spider-Man.
07:01This is where we learn that Asgard is back in this universe.
07:06And, we learn in the origin of Thor that Asgard was killed off.
07:11But, it will one day come back to Earth for Odin to change Earth in his image.
07:17We see that Asgard is now on Earth again.
07:21And, this is going to be seen in future stories down the road.
07:26This will be very important in later books.
07:29With the return of Asgard, that also means that we see the return of everyone who died on Asgard back in the origin of Ultimate Thor.
07:41This is including Odin, Balder, and any of the other gods that died.
07:47They're all back.
07:49And, this is including Loki himself as well.
07:53He's back on Asgard.
07:54We are also being reminded about Modi, the son of Thor, who is hanging out with his mother, Hela.
08:03This goes into the fact that Thor talks about the afterlife.
08:08That for the heroes who died, they're in a place where they're having a blast and having fun.
08:14Which is Valhalla.
08:16And, again, this makes the afterlife of Valhalla even more confusing in this universe.
08:23But, then we focus on Rogue.
08:26And, we have not seen Rogue in a very long time.
08:29Matter of fact, we haven't seen her since Ultimate X number 5.
08:34Which was also only a brief moment.
08:37We see that she is on the road trying to hide from the law.
08:42Because, remember, that if you are a mutant, it is illegal.
08:47Meaning that you can be shot on sight or thrown into a camp.
08:51Now, by this point, we learn that Rogue has gone full religious.
08:57And, honestly, this was something we started to see all the way back in Ultimate X-Men number 40, I want to say.
09:05The beginning of the new mutant storyline.
09:08But, in that book, she had early signs of being religious.
09:13But, this is her leading towards that path even more.
09:17Now, the next chapter we focus on is Tony Stark.
09:21And, if you remember, in our Ultimate Avengers and New Ultimates video, Gregory Stark, the brother of Tony Stark, died.
09:30And, so, you see Tony having a flashback.
09:33Which is him thinking about the funeral until he is confronted by Jonathan Blackhaven.
09:39And, he tells Tony about how Gregory and him had something in the works.
09:46Gregory wanted Tony to take his place if something ever happened to him.
09:51Which, of course, something did.
09:54And, so, Tony flies with Jonathan to see what he wants to talk about.
09:59Now, this is where we get introduced to the Kratos Club.
10:04And, this is a secret cabal of industrial multi-millionaires composed of 50 members.
10:11Their main goal is to use their influences to ensure that whatever is the right thing to them gets done.
10:19No matter what it is.
10:21Which is, of course, use their money to make sure those things happen.
10:26This is an organization you will only see a couple more times in future books.
10:33But, they just use their money to make things happen because to them, they know what the world needs and no one else does.
10:42But, we pick up with Kitty Pryde.
10:44And, this is an important section because this is the moment that set up the next Ultimate X-Men series in a way.
10:53Where you have her at the funeral of Peter Parker and she can't stand being here at this funeral.
11:01And, so, of course, she leaves.
11:03With her character, it is her hating the fact that Peter is dead.
11:07Because, he was trying to be a hero.
11:11Something she has been trying to run away from ever since she left the X-Men in Ultimate X-Men.
11:18With Peter's death, it is her coming to the conclusion that it is better for her to hide to survive.
11:26Now, this is the moment where she runs into Bobby Drake, aka Iceman.
11:32And, remember that after Ultimatum, Iceman and the Human Torch moved in with Peter Parker.
11:38Well, now, with Peter's death, Iceman left the home of the Parkers so Aunt May would not get arrested for hiding him.
11:48Since, being a mutant is illegal.
11:51But, you have Kitty Pryde tell him that she knows a place that they can hide at but they can no longer be superheroes anymore.
12:00But, then, you have Bobby Drake ask her if the Human Torch can come with them as well.
12:06And, so, now we know they'll be going somewhere to hide from the law.
12:12Now, picking up with Karen Grant, who is Jean Grey, she is using the name Karen Grant as a way to hide from the world.
12:20But, we see her right now having a therapy session with Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk.
12:26Now, remember, in the Ultimate X storyline, at the very end, we saw Karen Grant able to recruit the Hulk to join her mutant team that works for S.H.I.E.L.D., except for to make sure the Hulk helps her, she has to use her powers to control the Hulk.
12:45Now, we did not learn how she did that in the Ultimate X book.
12:51But, in this one, we see her locked away the Bruce Banner persona and let the Hulk persona be the one in control of the body.
13:01But, with her controlling the Hulk's mind.
13:03But, to close, we see Nick Fury walk in and this is just him telling Jean Grey that he has a mission for her and her team.
13:12And, so, we see her leave the room.
13:14But, we know Nick Fury must have a very important mission for her.
13:19Now, with the fourth chapter, you have Brian Michael Bendis begin the process of introducing the new Spider-Man in this universe.
13:30Of course, that person being Miles Morales.
13:33This is the first appearance of Miles Morales.
13:37It is him fighting against Ultimate Kangaroo.
13:40Kangaroo is a character who I think only has super strength and also the ability to jump far distances.
13:47Really, he only appears in about four books total in this universe.
13:54This time, he is just around to be used to give Miles Morales someone to fight against in his first fight.
14:02Where, the first fight for Miles Morales ends with him winning.
14:07But, when he is around being the new Spider-Man, a lot of people don't like it.
14:12To the citizens of New York, it is too early for a new Spider-Man to appear.
14:20Also, the fact that he is wearing a similar Peter Parker Spider-Man outfit.
14:25That's just bad taste.
14:27But, the story shifts its focus on Reed Richards.
14:31And, we have not seen him since Ultimate Doom.
14:33But, we saw him just floating in the negative zone after being defeated by the Ultimate Marvel Heroes.
14:42Except, here, we see him working to find a way to get back home to the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
14:50And, honestly, it just shows how resourceful Reed can be to be able to teleport back to the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
14:59Now, with him coming back here, it is just setting up the future Ultimate's book.
15:06And, there is a good reason why I say that.
15:10Because, you have Reed Richards built the city.
15:13And, this city is, again, going to be the main point in the next Ultimate's book.
15:20But, we see that this city's goal is not just to grow.
15:24The main goal is for the city to constantly evolve.
15:30The city and the people of this area to constantly evolve and never go extinct.
15:38You will actually explore more of this, again, in the Ultimate's book by Jonathan Hickman.
15:44Now, the final part of Chapter 4 focuses on Valerie Cooper.
15:49The new government official.
15:52Well, more of a special advisor to the president.
15:55She handles all of the superhuman and mutant affairs.
16:00Where she is having a late night dinner with a character named Brett.
16:04Now, this is the only book we are going to see Brett in.
16:08Where she tells Valerie about how she met with a mutant that talks about being experimented on years ago.
16:17This is very important because, in this universe, mutants were man-created.
16:24Because, Weapon X found Wolverine.
16:26The first mutant.
16:28They found his X gene and released it into the world as an airborne virus.
16:34And, that is how we got a full world of mutants.
16:39Well, Brett is here to tell Valerie that the world is about to find out that mutants were man-created.
16:47Not the next step of evolution.
16:50This is huge because this is a big government secret about to be told to the whole world.
16:58And, the public is going to start not to trust their president.
17:02With the 5th chapter, we focus on Quicksilver.
17:06Remember, we found out that he did not die like we thought he did in Ultimates 3.
17:12Instead, he was hiding out.
17:15We also learn that he has been speaking to the Scarlet Witch as well.
17:20Who we thought was killed off in Ultimates also.
17:24Except, right now, he is meeting up with Philip Henstead.
17:28Now, this meeting was only put together thanks to Quicksilver knowing the assistant of Philip Henstead, Devin.
17:37Now, this is us kind of getting an idea what Quicksilver is planning to do.
17:43Because, he is not trying to take the same path as his father.
17:47But, in the last few books, it's been complicated to see if his goal is to help mutants or turn against him.
17:56See, the reason why he is meeting up with Philip is to point out that the mutant race could be used to help lead the world in the right direction.
18:06Or, well, make people a lot of money by using the mutant race for their powers.
18:12See, what Quicksilver says about how great it would be to use a teleporter to teleport a shipment.
18:20A telepath to read someone's mind to see what their game plan is for their company.
18:26Or, even using someone to control the weather to help the farm industry.
18:31Because, this is Quicksilver telling Philip that he is going to hand over a small amount of mutants to help Philip make money.
18:40Philip agrees to the deal and everything is going as planned for Quicksilver.
18:47We finally pick up with Nick Fury, the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. once again.
18:51But, this is him getting updates on what is happening across the world.
18:56From Hawkeye.
18:58Will you have Hawkeye open up and tell us that Europe has restarted their Super Soldier program?
19:04The main reason why is because of Asgard being back on Earth.
19:09Also, there is a new Captain Britain now, which is Jamie Braddock.
19:14There is also a war going on between Uruguay and Argentina that has gotten worse.
19:21And, the United Nations are asking for the Ultimates to step in.
19:25Finally, SEER, which is the Southeastern Asian Republic, has also made bioweapons and metahumans.
19:33And, so Hawkeye is being sent there to see what is going on.
19:38After the briefing, you have Nick Fury leave for his office.
19:42This is where Fury learns from a guy named Jasper Sitwell, who is from Washington, working alongside the President.
19:49The only reason why he is here is to tell Nick Fury that they are cutting down the S.H.I.E.L.D. budget by 30%, which is a lot.
20:00For Nick, that is too much because they are now building new Triscolans in areas that have gained democracy in their countries.
20:09Making weapons as well, so with those budget cuts, it really slows everything down.
20:15Finally, to close on the 5th chapter, we see Quicksilver meeting up with Devin again.
20:21Well, more of them getting their freak on, and that is it.
20:25Except, in the middle of them making out, his eyes play a game on him.
20:30When he doesn't see Devin anymore, he actually sees his sister, the Scarlet Witch.
20:36Now, again, we thought she died, but to him, she is here, telling him that he needs to go to Egypt.
20:45But also, she says something about how he is working to fix his soul.
20:50That they are both working for their father, who was Magneto.
20:55And we saw him killed off in Ultimatum.
20:58And so, the question is now, is Magneto still alive?
21:02Now, the final chapter of this book is really a way to close this book on a nice note.
21:09Because we pick up with Aunt May and Gwen Stacy.
21:13We see that Aunt May is still struggling with the fact that she is having a hard time dealing with the death of Peter Parker.
21:22Also, the fact that there is a crowd of people who work for different news channels outside, hoping to get an interview with her.
21:31We also learn she lost her job because they believe she is too dangerous to have around because of her connection to Spider-Man.
21:41Now, she tells us that Iron Man offered her and Gwen to move them somewhere else, where they decide to move to France.
21:51And so, you have Gwen and Aunt May leaving to move to France to get away from everything.
21:58We also get a couple more pages of Kitty Pryde, Human Torch, and Iceman.
22:05We see that they are in the sewers looking for something down there.
22:09Somewhere to be their new home.
22:11Which, of course, it is them finding the old home of the Morlocks.
22:16The Morlocks were mutants who used to live in the sewers.
22:20Nightcrawler actually used to run the Morlocks for a period of time.
22:25And so, with him dead, Kitty was able to grab the key to the place.
22:31And the three of them are going to live down there from now on.
22:36We skip back over to Nick Fury.
22:38And this is a very important moment for the book.
22:43Because you have Nick Fury talking to one of his agents.
22:47Where you have Nick Fury informing us that Captain America had resigned from the Ultimates.
22:53The guilt from being the sole reason for the death of Spider-Man made him take a step back from being a hero.
23:03Finally, to close, we see Nick Fury go to the home of Mary Jane.
23:09Where you have him see the story that she has been working on.
23:13A story she was going to share to the world that would state that S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Ultimates were at fault for the death of Spider-Man.
23:23You have him agree on the fact that he is at fault.
23:28He tells Mary Jane how he knew Peter Parker's parents.
23:33When they died, he was hoping to do right by them.
23:37By helping Peter in life.
23:39And so, when he got his powers, it was the right time for Nick Fury to step in to help.
23:46Except, he did not do enough like he should have.
23:51And now, Peter is dead.
23:54And so, you have the book close with Nick Fury crying.
23:58Saying that he is at fault for Peter's death.
24:02And he loved Peter as a son.
24:06Now, this is part of the video where I sit down and give my thoughts on about the book.
24:14To be honest, I like this book because it is a soft reboot for the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
24:23And the reason why I say that is because, remember, after Ultimatum, Marvel struggled to get the Ultimate Marvel Universe out of the hole it dug itself in thanks to Ultimatum.
24:39That's why we had so many different books at their Ultimatum.
24:45Ultimate Captain America.
24:47Ultimate Armor Wars.
24:49Ultimate Thor.
24:50Ultimate Doom.
24:51Ultimate Spider-Man.
24:53Ultimate Avengers.
24:55Ultimate New Ultimates.
24:56There were other titles I forgot to mention.
24:58But the point is, Marvel tried so much.
25:02They tried so much.
25:04Hoping that fans would love the Ultimate Marvel Universe again.
25:12But sadly, it did not work.
25:15Yes, we did get some good stories.
25:17I will admit that.
25:18I love Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2.
25:22I love Ultimate Captain America.
25:24But, guys, remember, Ultimate Spider-Man was the main flagship of the rebirth of Ultimate Marvel after Ultimatum.
25:38But sadly, that book was not doing well enough.
25:42So, what do you do?
25:44Well, you do another rebranding.
25:47And it begins with Ultimate Fallout.
25:50Ultimate Fallout was a way to say, here is the aftermath of the death of Spider-Man.
25:58Here is the aftermath of the Avengers vs. the Ultimate storyline.
26:03But also, this book here leads the path into the rebranding of the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
26:11What I called Phase 3.
26:14Phase 3 is what we get after Ultimate Fallout.
26:19Where Marvel was hoping that this next phase would finally put Ultimate Marvel back on the map again.
26:29And I will admit, there were some great books in Phase 3.
26:33But, of course, we all know what happened a few years later.
26:38We lost the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
26:41But, anyways, y'all, I'm going ahead and end today's video right here.
26:48So, please, hit that like button down below and also subscribe to the channel for more content to come in the near future.
26:56Also, any suggestions on books I should read, well, please let me know in the comments below because you never know.
27:04Your suggestion could be a future video down the road.
27:10Later, guys.
27:10What's going on there, YouTube?
27:12And welcome back to another comic book video.
27:15This is the channel where we sit down and cover different comic book stories from different comic book companies.
27:22Today, we're going to jump back over to Marvel Comics and continue our coverage over the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
27:30Now, this is going to be a landmark video, but also we're covering a landmark issue.
27:36This is Ultimate Spider-Man number 200.
27:41We have covered 200 Ultimate Spider-Man books.
27:46And this is a big one.
27:48Now, not like, you know, oh my gosh, they did some crazy things in this book.
27:53No.
27:53It's just perfectly set up for the last couple stories we have in the Ultimate Marvel Universe that focuses on Miles Morales.
28:03So, if you do like today's comic book video, please hit that like button down below and subscribe.
28:10But let's go ahead and dive into Ultimate Spider-Man number 200.
28:16With the opening of this book, this is where we pick up with Miles Morales and Genki.
28:21Of course, Miles Morales is the latest Spider-Man in the Ultimate Marvel Universe, who took up the mantle of Spider-Man after Peter Parker had died.
28:32Genki was the best friend of Miles Morales and had also helped Miles in different ways.
28:38We see that the two of them are going over to Parker's home for something.
28:43We don't know yet why they are, but we also learned that Genki is planning to give Gwen Stacy some Lego thing to hopefully impress her in hoping to get her number.
28:56The next section focuses on Mary Jane, who's about to walk into the home of the Parkers with her new boyfriend, Liam.
29:03Which, honestly, this is great news for her to see her moving on from Peter Parker to a new guy.
29:11Except, when they get there, whatever this big event that is about to happen at this house, she feels bad bringing her new boyfriend to her old boyfriend's house.
29:23She asks Liam to leave, and he honestly understands and leaves.
29:27Which leads to her walking into the house of the Parkers.
29:31Next page, we open up with Lana, aka Bombshell, who was originally a villain of Peter Parker.
29:39But at the end of his time being Spider-Man, and with Miles Morales becoming Spider-Man, she actually turned good and became a hero somewhat.
29:50But we see her with Jessica Drew, who was known as Spider-Woman, who is actually changing her name.
29:57We see them both going to the home of the Parkers.
30:01After that, we pick up with the Human Torch and Iceman, who were both close friends of Peter Parker at the tail end of his time as Spider-Man.
30:11Except, they both run into Liz Allen, who in this universe is known as Firestar, who is just basically a female Human Torch.
30:20She was a close friend of Mary Jane, but she knew Peter Parker as well.
30:25But all three of them are going to the home of the Parkers as well.
30:29We learn that the reason why everyone is coming to the home of the Parker is because it's the second anniversary of the death of Peter Parker.
30:39Remember, he was killed by the Green Goblin and the Sinister Six.
30:43So it is just everyone just coming together again, the people Peter Parker was close to, are helped along the way.
30:51Also, there is a point where Genki does give Gwen Stacy his Lego set he made as a gift.
30:58She likes it and gives him a kiss.
31:00Don't worry, this won't last long in this universe.
31:04Then out of nowhere, you have Tony Stark send a catering service to help out everything.
31:10Honestly, Tony and the last few members of the Ultimates still feel bad for the death of Peter Parker.
31:18So, it is his way to say, I'm sorry and helping out.
31:21Now, you do have Kitty Pryde up here.
31:24And remember that her and Peter Parker dated for a brief moment.
31:28So, it makes sense for her to come here.
31:31Everyone is happy and we get reminded that she defeated Galactus and how the mutant race is loved.
31:39We also see the return of Kong who has been gone for so long now.
31:44So, it is nice to see him here.
31:46There is a moment where you have a limo just driving by.
31:50And inside of it is J. Jonah Jameson who basically wants to go in but it is too hard for him to do it.
31:58He truly cared for Peter Parker and cared for Spider-Man at the end.
32:03Now, after everyone has walked in or even drove by, you have everyone begin to think and wonder what would Peter Parker be like if he was still alive.
32:14To marry Jane, she remembers that Nick Fury said he was training Peter and thought that Peter had what it takes to be the best hero he can be.
32:24Possibly even end up leading the Ultimates.
32:28Aunt May thought he would take his love for science to make the city and the police force better.
32:34Making different kinds of gadgets to be used.
32:37What seems to be like a Spider-Man police force.
32:40They all get the chance to wear different kinds of police armor and use it to protect the city.
32:47That he would have done great things for the world thanks to his love for science.
32:52For Gwen Stacy, it's more of she thought of Peter Parker becoming some kind of reporter for the Daily Bugle.
32:59Using his Spider-Man skills to put away the bad guys that just don't stay locked up.
33:04So, people like the Kingpin even though the Kingpin is dead now thanks to Ultimate Mysterio.
33:10Just him using his spider powers but his abilities as a reporter too since he thought that Spider-Man was just not enough for him to put people away.
33:20For Miles, he never met Peter Parker.
33:23Remember that Miles Morales got his powers before Peter Parker had died.
33:28The only thing was that Miles Morales was scared of his powers and basically just never used them until after Peter died.
33:37He just thinks about how cool it would be if him and Peter Parker had actually worked together as a dynamic duo of spider heroes in this universe.
33:47Kitty Pryde, well, let me just say she still has feelings for Peter Parker.
33:52Even though in the Ultimate X-Men books she moved on to Jimmy, the son of Wolverine for a brief moment.
33:59We see that she was hoping that one day her and Peter Parker would end up married.
34:06They would still fight crime.
34:08Just they would be married too.
34:10Showing no matter what, she still loved Peter Parker.
34:13The last person to talk about what Peter Parker would be like is Bobby Drake.
34:18He was thinking if Peter was alive, there would be some kind of mini-ultimates team.
34:24And S.H.I.E.L.D. would give them tech to fight crime.
34:27Nothing too serious or crazy to really get into.
34:31Now, to close on the book, you have Aunt May thinking that it would be a great idea for her and the others to give the catering service food out to the homeless to be nice.
34:41Also, that it is something that Peter Parker would do.
34:45Then you have everyone heading home for the day and saying goodbye.
34:50Except to build up for the next Ultimate Spider-Man series and the last one to be more exact, we see someone was watching the home of the Parkers this whole time.
35:01Who?
35:01Well, we're gonna find out in the next Ultimate Spider-Man book.

36:12This is his first time out being the new Spider-Man in the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
36:20So, if you do like today's comic book video, please hit that like button down below and also subscribe to the channel for more content to come in the near future.
36:34But I do hope you enjoy today's video.
36:38The story begins with us picking up 11 months ago before the present day, where we pick up with Norman Osborn.
36:46This is a very important thing because we see him looking at his different spiders that he has done experiments on.
36:54As you know, when it comes to Peter Parker in this universe, one spider escaped and of course bit Peter Parker.
37:03Except this is a different spider that had escaped from Oscorp Labs.
37:08And this is, of course, going to be the spider that will bite Miles Morales and make him the new Spider-Man in this universe.
37:17The big question is, how does this spider end up biting Miles in the first place if Miles never visited Oscorp Labs?
37:27Well, it comes with the idea of the fact that after Norman Osborn turned himself into the Green Goblin, we pick up with the character known as the Prowler.
37:38Now, in the main Marvel Universe, the Prowler was a guy named Hobie Brown, who invented tech to be a thief as a way to make quick money.
37:49Now, in the ultimate Marvel Universe, it is not Hobie Brown.
37:53Instead, it's a guy named Aaron Davis, who is also a thief, where we see him breaking into Oscorp that has been abandoned since Norman Osborn was arrested for being the Green Goblin.
38:07Well, while he was stealing a bunch of different stuff, he was not paying attention to the spider that escaped crawling into his bag, where, of course, he leaves with the spider without knowing.
38:20Then we finally pick up with Miles Morales.
38:23And this is a very important moment of the book, because we see him and his parents, Rio Morales and Jefferson Davis, walking into a building, hoping that Miles will be able to get into this boarding school.
38:38Now, the only way to get into this boarding school is to have amazing grades, pass their tests, but also have your name called in a lottery.
38:48And so, with the fact you have the grades and pass the test, you can still be turned away for not having your name called at the lottery.
38:57Luckily for Miles, his name is called and he gets into the school.
39:03Now, after he gets into the school, he goes over to his uncle's house, which is, of course, Aaron Davis, the man we just saw break into Oscorp,
39:12Oscorp, the man whose bag is holding the spider we saw in the beginning of the book.
39:18This section is at first used to tell us that Aaron and his brother, who is Miles' father, do not see eye to eye, meaning that something happened between them.
39:30When you have Aaron try to explain how great it is for Miles getting into the school, because Aaron and his brother Jefferson never truly had a chance like Miles.
39:40But when Aaron walks away, that is when the spider we saw in the beginning of the book comes in and bites Miles, which leads into Miles passing out from the bite.
39:52When Miles wakes up, you have Aaron Davis there to see if Miles is okay, except he tells Miles that he had no choice but to call Miles' father because he passed out out of nowhere.
40:05When Miles' father gets there, of course, this begins an argument between the two of them.
40:12And we learn that Miles' father does not want Miles seeing his uncle Aaron at all, mainly because Jefferson knows what Aaron does.
40:22But with the two of them arguing, it was too much for Miles to watch, so he leaves the apartment completely.
40:29Now, you have Jefferson leave as well to go find his son, because Miles is only like 12 or 13 years old.
40:37The problem is that when Jefferson goes outside to find Miles, he can't see him because Miles' powers have activated, which is Miles' camouflage power.
40:47Now, with Miles seeing that he has powers, of course, he freaks out and has no idea what to do and what is going on, so he just runs down the street.
40:59But this is the moment where we learn more about his powers.
41:03He does have enhanced agility, strength, but the biggest two things we see are powers that Peter Parker never had.
41:13The first one, us seeing again that he has the ability to camouflage.
41:18Now, the second power shows itself when it comes to Miles being surrounded by some bullies who want to pick on him for just being there, really.
41:28Except when he touches one of the guys, his venom shock powers activate and temporarily paralyze the kid for a brief moment.
41:38But after that, he goes over to his best friend's house and gives us the first appearance of Genki,
41:46a character a lot of people actually love when it comes to the Miles Morales comics.
41:52Now, the reason why Miles came here is because he needed to show someone he has powers now.
41:58And the only person he thinks he can trust is his best friend Genki.
42:04And so you have Miles show him all of the different abilities he has now, but also tells Genki that he was bitten by a spider.
42:13Now, Miles is scared to tell Genki he is afraid to tell anyone else because they might try to tie him into being a mutant.
42:23And the reason why, because at this point, being a mutant is illegal.
42:28But the section closes with Miles' father coming in and taking Miles home with him so they can talk.
42:36And so you have Jefferson sit down and talk to Miles about why he does not want him to see his uncle Aaron,
42:44but also the fact how important it is for him to see Miles succeed in life.
42:50For Jefferson and his brother Aaron, they were both thieves when they were younger.
42:55Except Jefferson realized that he had to get out of the life,
42:59especially when he met his wife Rio, who is Miles' mother.
43:04And of course, when Miles came around.
43:07Except for Aaron, he stayed in that life and Jefferson does not want his son to be part of that life.
43:15And so he is trying to establish in Miles to do the right thing.
43:20Now, even though this is a very sweet moment for these two characters,
43:25we learn that Jefferson hates people who has powers.
43:30And this is important really because it makes Miles consider not to tell his father about his new powers.
43:39Later on that night, you have Miles get a text from Genki talking about the idea of him not being a mutant.
43:47That with the powers Miles showed, it seemed very similar to what a spider can do in different ways.
43:56And so you have Genki ask Miles if he can stick to walls.
44:00And Genki points out that Spider-Man was bitten by a spider as well.
44:06With that being said, you have Miles try to see if he can stick to walls,
44:11where of course he can stick to walls.
44:14And this leads into Miles knowing that he has spider powers.
44:20He is not a mutant.
44:22Of course, later that night, you have Genki come over to see Miles' new powers in action.
44:28Now, by this point, we are right after Ultimatum, I want to say.
44:33But getting back to the point of the story,
44:35at this moment, you have Genki excited by the fact that Miles has powers.
44:40But Miles, of course, is still scared about his powers.
44:44Still afraid that he might get thrown into a camp or something.
44:49But then you have Genki point out that they need to figure out where the spider came from.
44:54The only person who might know is Eren, Miles' uncle.
44:59Except Miles told his father he would not see Eren anymore.
45:04But at this point, they do not really have a choice here.
45:08They need answers right at this moment.
45:11Except when they get over to Eren's place and knock on his door,
45:15they get no answer, but the door is unlocked.
45:18And so you have the two of them walk into the apartment to see that Eren is gone.
45:24The man packed up everything in a matter of hours and he was gone in the wind.
45:29And so the only person who may have an answer on what happened to Miles is now gone.
45:36And so now, they have no idea where to get answers from.
45:40Now on the way home, they see a bunch of fire trucks heading towards something around the corner.
45:46Where of course, for Miles and Genki, they just have to know what is going on.
45:51So they rush over to see a building on fire.
45:54And there are people who are still trapped inside the building.
45:57And so you have Miles decide that he can use his powers to help the people who are trapped in the building.
46:05First being a mother who he just throws out of the window.
46:09And luckily, there is a landing pad on the ground.
46:13But he sees someone else still trapped inside.
46:16So he goes deeper into the building to save her and he does.
46:21This makes Miles happy to see him use his powers to save the lives of other people.
46:27Using his powers for a good reason.
46:30Except after he does that, you have him hiding in an alley crying.
46:35Where Genki finds him and this begins a conversation that Miles tells us that he is too scared to use his powers.
46:43That what he did was great and all, but he does not believe he can do that again.
46:48So this is the moment where you have Miles decide that he would not use his powers ever again.
46:55The idea of him being a hero is too much for him to handle.
47:00Then we get to see Miles Morales at his new school.
47:04And this is a very important moment because when we see him and Genki get their room,
47:10they also get a third roommate which is Judge.
47:14But the point of this is after Miles has spent some time in his new boarding school,
47:19we see him having a nightmare where he is afraid that some supervillain would come after him.
47:27This dream, we see Electro is the bad guy that kills him.
47:31So he wakes up, but when he does wake up at that moment,
47:36he, Genki, and Judge are told they are having an emergency drill.
47:40The reason why is because Spider-Man has been shot.
47:45And we are now at the moment where the death of Spider-Man takes place.
47:50Now, of course, you have everyone freaking out because at this point in Ultimate Marvel,
47:56the city of New York loves Spider-Man.
47:59They don't love every hero, but they loved Spider-Man.
48:03But getting back to the main point, you have Miles leave the school
48:07so he can see if he can help Spider-Man out with the Sinister Six.
48:12Except when Miles gets there, of course, he comes in at the very last second,
48:17where Peter Parker dies in the arm of Aunt May.
48:21And this was hard to read again because we are just reliving the death of Spider-Man all over again.
48:28Now, this has been this retconning that Miles was there
48:33and actually had a conversation with Gwen Stacy after Peter died,
48:38where she tells him that his name was Peter Parker
48:42and it sticks to Miles Morales for the rest of his life.
48:46What I mean by that is you have Miles the next day just thinking about Peter.
48:52And the reason why is because Miles felt like he should have been another Spider-Man
48:58when he got his powers.
49:00Instead, he hid his powers, focused on school,
49:04and a few weeks later, Peter Parker died.
49:07To him, if he had accepted his powers and used them,
49:12he could have helped Peter Parker fight against those villains.
49:15And you have Genki tell Miles that he has to realize
49:20that maybe he was Spider-Man to pop up to replace Peter
49:25to keep the mantle going.
49:27The city still needs Spider-Man and it will be Miles.
49:32Miles keeps that thought on his mind,
49:34but he wants to know why Peter Parker became Spider-Man.
49:38So Miles and Genki go to the funeral
49:41and you have Miles ask when Stacy, why did Peter do it?
49:45And you have Gwen Stacy just snapped at Miles and Genki
49:49by telling him how Peter's Uncle Ben installed everyone's favorite line.
49:55With great power comes great responsibility.
49:58And that line right there is now installed in Miles' mind
50:03where it gives Miles that drive to become the new Spider-Man
50:07to replace Peter Parker and help the world out being the new Spider-Man.
50:13So later that day, we see Miles getting a costume from Genki
50:17where of course it is the one we saw in Ultimate Fallout
50:21that Genki wore this outfit for Halloween before
50:25and now giving it to Miles to begin his time as the new Spider-Man.
50:31Now, we are going to skip over the next few pages
50:35because those pages are just a recap on what happened in Ultimate Fallout number 4.
50:42Miles becomes Spider-Man for the first time
50:45and fights against a villain named Kangaroo and defeats him.
50:50And that is it for this moment.
50:52And with that, we can skip to the closing part of chapter 4.
50:57Because the next day when Miles goes back out there to be Spider-Man one more time
51:03and thinking that this night will be better than the other nights
51:07that is when Miles is confronted by Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman
51:13and this is a very important moment for Spider-Man.
51:18Now, Spider-Woman is here because she is one of the clones of Peter Parker in this universe.
51:24So when she sees someone going around pretending to be like her brother
51:29well, she wants to know who it is.
51:33And this is Miles quickly learning that he's not ready for the big leagues just yet
51:38because you have Spider-Woman being able to overpower him multiple times
51:45take off his mask and then Spider-Woman was able to knock him out.
51:51With her doing all of that, she gathers that this is not another Peter Parker clone.
51:58That it is just some kid pretending to be a hero.
52:03Where of course, she takes Miles back to the Triscolin
52:06and where you have Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Iron Man in her
52:11and shocked that there is another Spider-Man.
52:14Where you have Iron Man confirm that his genes have been altered
52:18kind of like Jessica Drew and Peter Parker but just a little bit different
52:23and could be referring to the idea of Miles having different powers.
52:29But then you have Nick Fury ask everyone to leave
52:32so he can talk to Miles one-on-one.
52:36And this is a very important moment for Nick Fury
52:39because to Nick, Peter was like a son to him.
52:42So when Peter died, he feels like he failed as a father in a way.
52:48So seeing Miles right here in front of him, it is like a redo for Nick
52:53but more of the way of thinking about grounding Miles until he is older
52:59and then take him in.
53:02Now Nick Fury lets us know that he knows a lot about Miles as well
53:07which just shows off his abilities to be a top spy.
53:12He kind of has an idea about how Miles got his powers
53:17but Miles fills in some of the holes of the story of his powers for Nick.
53:23Except this is the moment you have Bendis bring in another bad guy for Miles to fight
53:30except someone who would give Miles a challenge.
53:34This would be Electro.
53:36Now when we last saw him, he was shot by Aunt May in the death of Spider-Man's story.
53:43Well he is alive and when he remembers what happened
53:47but also learn where he is at, this makes him use his powers
53:51and begin the process of blowing up the place.
53:55Now with that happening, you have some of the Ultimates try to stop Electro
54:00where you would think that these guys who are well trained heroes should beat him easily
54:06since Peter Parker was able to beat him multiple times.
54:11But for the sake of the story, we see them getting their butt kicked
54:15and Nick Fury is freaking out since he has no plans on to stop Electro here.
54:22But that is when you have Miles go in, sneak behind Electro and use his Venom Blast
54:28to short circuit Electro and giving Nick Fury the chance to shoot Electro to wrap this up very quickly.
54:37But this is an amazing moment for Miles because now you will have Nick Fury consider letting Miles be a hero.
54:47But the story closes on with the next day you have Genki and Miles hanging out
54:52where of course you have Miles telling Genki everything that happened.
54:56But while walking around the school, he is confronted by Spider-Woman just being Jessica Drew.
55:03This is the moment Miles learns that Nick Fury has given his blessing to Miles to be the new Spider-Man.
55:11And by showing that he is giving his blessing, you have Spider-Woman give a gift to Miles from Nick Fury
55:19which is his own Spider-Man outfit.
55:22And this is an amazing moment for Miles Morales because he goes out to be the new Spider-Man of the Ultimate Marvel Universe.
55:33Now this is part of the video where I sit down and give my thoughts on about the book.
55:38To be honest, I like this book a lot.
55:41The reason why is because it gave us Miles Morales.
55:45It gave us one of the best Spider-Mans out there today.
55:49And also the fact that this was Brian Michael Bendis at his peak.
55:58And what I mean by that is because around this time, Brian Michael Bendis was Marvel's best writer.
56:05Or one of their best writers.
56:08And so when he sat down and gave us the origin of Miles Morales, it was done perfectly well.
56:16You cannot say it wasn't.
56:18Now, there is one thing I did wish that Brian Michael Bendis did was give Miles his own villain to fight against in his first book.
56:29Because, truthfully, Electro is a Peter Parker villain.
56:35And I'm not saying that Miles should not fight against Peter Parker villains, but Miles should have his own villain in his first book.
56:45That's my personal opinion.
56:49But again, it did give us a new Spider-Man.
56:53And we watched him take down Electro.
56:58Besides that, I have nothing else to say.
57:03So we are going to end today's video right here.
57:05So please hit that like button down below and also subscribe to the channel for more content to come in the near future.
57:14Also, any suggestions on books I should read?
57:18Well, please let me know in the comments below.
57:22Because you never know, your suggestion could be a future video down the road.
57:28I'll see y'all next time.
57:31Later.
57:31Later.
