00:00Mr Speaker, it is very disappointing to get a technocratic history lesson rather than answer
00:04to the meaningful question. 208 secret rooms and a hidden chamber just one metre from cables serving
00:11the City of London and the British people. That is what the unredacted plans tell us the Chinese
00:17Communist Party has planned for its new embassy if the Government gives them the go-ahead.
00:21Indeed, we now know they plan to demolish the wall between the cables and their embassy,
00:25cables on which our economy is dependent, cables carrying millions of British people's emails and
00:30financial data, and access that would give the Chinese Communist Party a launchpad for economic
00:36warfare against our nation. The Home Office and the Foreign Office say security concerns have been
00:41addressed. So I put to the Minister, had any Minister seen these unredacted plans before the Telegraph
00:47uncovered them? And if not, why not? Is it true the embassy will be approved this week?
00:51As I have stressed before, and I'm afraid I will have to do so repeatedly, no decision has been
00:57made. I cannot comment on any aspects of the case. It's a live case for planning ministers to determine.
01:03All material considerations will be taken into account when making a decision, but I'm afraid
01:07I can't comment on any specific national security concerns.
