00:00Normally I approach material, I'll read a script, do script analysis and build backstory, but in this case, because it's a real story, I didn't really, and I had no time, I had to do, flood myself with like as much research as I possibly could and then just let it go and trust myself and throw myself into it.
00:19And our director, Linda Lisa Hayter, she was fantastic. She was like my rock while we were shooting and she completely, I couldn't have done this without her. She was fantastic because as I assume that you've seen it, it was very intense and emotional.
00:36It was interesting because I basically had no prep time. It was very, I want to say a few days. But when I started doing some research, there wasn't really a lot about, I found a lot obviously on Karen Reed, but there wasn't really a lot on John O'Keefe.
00:55And so in a way I felt like this would be sort of, you know, like a tribute to his life and to sort of shine a light on the complexity actually of our, of our legal system.
01:05Yeah, definitely. And it stays with you. I remember I went to a premiere after I was shooting, like the week after, and I saw photos of myself on the carpet and I was like, what am I, what is this face I'm doing?
01:19And then I realized that I was still like embodying her and cause she has this sort of expression that she did quite often. And I just hadn't quite let go of the character yet.
01:31But this was like for physically and mannerisms the first time it stuck with me longer, but it does take a bit of time to, to let go.
01:43It's almost like in a way grieving. I know this might sound weird or morbid, but it's in a way like grieving a death of a character.
01:51You have to sort of like let it go and then recenter yourself and decompress and come back down to earth and ground. And, um, it's a bit of a process.
02:02I hope she is proud of it in a way, or I hope she, you know, is flattered by my portrayal of her. Um, yeah.
02:16I hope she is well.
02:18Hopefully she's a very proud man.
02:18Bye.
02:20Bye.
02:20Bye.
02:21Bye.
02:22Bye.
02:22Bye.
02:22Bye.
02:24Bye.
02:25Bye.
02:25Bye.
