00:00you have such incredible artists as well in the philippines that are so inspiring some incredible
00:05singers in the philippines i've i actually have not ever met somebody from the philippines that
00:10didn't at least a little bit have an amazing voice every time i visit i try to learn more
00:16about the music and there are always great singers that inspire me from there
00:20it's something that i am very very enthusiastically excited for um i love the philippines i have since
00:33day one i say it all the time but filipinos have understood me and my music for the entirety of
00:42my career from from moment one i have felt like the philippines have embraced me and that was
00:49something as an artist you know starting out very young and feeling like i didn't really fit in
00:55all of the regular boxes to know that this place so far across the world from where you live
01:01um is singing your songs and wants you there and really wants to sing along with you
01:07um i can't tell you how much that has meant to me over the course of my career so every time i
01:12have the opportunity to come back to the philippines i try to leave all of that gratitude
01:17um and love on the stage that um that we've shared for 25 years you have such incredible
01:24artists as well in the philippines that are so inspiring some incredible singers in the philippines
01:30i've i actually have not ever met somebody from the philippines that didn't at least a little bit have
01:35an amazing voice so um it is a country of great music of great culture and great singers and just incredible
01:42music lovers the the heart is real and i think every artist that goes there feels that um that
01:49genuine connection because that's all we're trying to do is connect well i mean there are some incredible
01:54filipino artists that i've known and worked with here in the united states and also last year in
01:59vanilla i had the great fortune of singing with leah salonga who's been one of my heroes for a really
02:03long time she joined me on stage last last time i was on stage there that was a great thrill
02:08um you know i um it's i have a long-running kind of um connection and joke with christian bautista
02:16who um who i know like always jokes that he was called like the filipino me for for so many years
02:21and he's an incredible artist and he has a wonderful voice and i feel like at some point christian and i
02:26need to we need to collaborate on something and then there are some wonderful new artists like julianne san
02:32jose who's uh incredible singer and i would love to meet her and sing with her at some point so
02:37every time i visit i try to learn more about the music and there are always great singers that
02:43inspire me from there so i i hope so
