00:00So we weren't expecting
00:28Gold Commander for Yorkshire is currently unavailable, so you have me.
00:31What's the situation?
00:32Buildings cleared and locked down.
00:34Any hostages?
00:35At least two, possibly more.
00:36The suspect absconded from HMP Anmouth.
00:39Any demands?
00:40Not yet. We're trying to establish contact.
00:42Why hold up a police station?
00:44It's not a bank.
00:53Mars Millock, practical firearms.
00:55It's crowded in here, isn't it? Who are they?
00:57DS Hunter and DC Akbari, part of the crime squad.
01:00We work closely with criminal records.
01:02Where's D.I. Monroe?
01:03We don't know. She wasn't amongst the evacuated workers.
01:05I've sent her a message. She'll be here.
01:07Right. Get us a coffee, will you?
01:14Small Murray's ex-boss. Apparently he's the right piece of work.
01:17We're about to establish contact with a hostage taken.
01:19All right, everybody, shush, shush, shush, shush.
01:21This is Chief Superintendent Callum Banks.
01:24We have the building surrounded.
01:25Let's try and find a peaceful solution, shall we?
01:28Good idea.
01:29Munro?
01:30Munro.
01:31Munro!
01:32Munro?
02:24God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
03:01Patience.
03:02Is everything all right?
03:03Yeah, I'm just here with a woman who says she's been a victim of a miscarriage of justice.
03:08Well, she should speak to a solicitor.
03:10Well, I told her she could speak to you.
03:14What? No, I don't have time to deal with some random off the streets right now.
03:18Um, I don't think she's a random. Can you just come, please?
03:22Okay, fine. Come and meet me. I'm at that new coffee place around the corner.
03:30This is Nicola Barclay.
03:32Hi. DI Munro.
03:36So what's this all about?
03:41I was wrongly convicted of murder.
03:44Murder?
03:47Fifteen years ago, my sponsor from an addiction support group who was found stabbed at his home.
03:52But he was already dead when I got there, and I was scared.
04:07I had David's blood on me, and I...
04:10I'd been drinking. I was pretty out of it.
04:13I ran.
04:15The cops found me at home the next day.
04:18No one believes in alcoholic.
04:23What did they think your motive was?
04:25Well, they said that I was afraid that he'd report me to social services for relapsing and being a non-fit mother, and I was trying to silence him.
04:32They thought your sponsor would break his confidence.
04:34In my experience, confidentiality is a big deal in addiction support groups.
04:39That's what I told the police.
04:41I had nothing to do with it, but I served fifteen years all the same.
04:45Christ.
04:46When did you get out?
04:48A few days ago.
04:52This is the police report.
04:55This is in Manchester.
04:59Callum Banks was the DCI.
05:01Yeah.
05:04Um, there's something missing.
05:07I mean, were there no other suspects?
05:10Can you help?
05:12Well, in my opinion, the police work done by the investigating team was uncooperated and unrigorous.
05:21Sounds on brand for Callum Banks.
05:23Hey, take a seat.
05:33We'll let you know when we've got something.
05:35We'll let you know when we've got something.
05:36We'll let you know when we've got something.
05:37We'll let you know when we've got something.
05:38I'm not sure if we didn't fear them, but we'll let you know when we were Willie died.
05:49We'll let you know when we moved.
05:54Come on, darling.
05:55Please, don't do that.
05:56Please, don't do that.
05:57Please, don't do that.
05:58Please, don't do that.
06:13That's Nicola.
06:18Nicola, you can't be in here.
06:25Okay.
06:27Let's stay calm.
06:28Okay?
06:31Give me the gun, Nicola.
06:36Give me the gun, Nicola.
06:44What are you doing, Nicola?
06:54Your assembly, Roy!
06:55This is going to be apparently dead.
06:58Apparently it's in criminal records.
07:00Wait, this is for real.
07:01Do we know where patients are?
07:02They're stealing the building up.
07:03We've got to go get patients.
07:04Arm response are on the way.
07:05Come on, let's go.
07:11I can't access the external server.
07:14They've isolated criminal records.
07:16So?
07:18Um, well, it means that I can't communicate with Manchester.
07:23There must be another way.
07:25Find it.
07:26Um, I've...
07:28I...
07:30Um...
07:40You need to answer that.
07:43It's a good sign.
07:44It means they want to negotiate.
07:45You...
07:47It's...
07:49I just need time to think.
07:50You just...
07:53You...
07:57Yeah.
07:58This is Chief Superintendent Callum Banks.
08:13We have the building surrounded.
08:14Let's try and find a peaceful solution, shall we?
08:19Good eye.
08:20Hi there.
08:21Munro?
08:23Er, cut the loudspeaker, yeah?
08:26What the hell are you playing at, Munro?
08:30You might remember Nicola Barclay.
08:32She's a murderer and a fugitive.
08:36You sure about that?
08:38What does she want?
08:40Her case re-examined.
08:42We don't bargain with criminals.
08:44Haven't you attempted to neutralise her? She's one woman.
08:47A woman with a gun can do just as much harm as a man with a gun.
08:51All right, Munro, enough chat.
08:54We're coming in.
08:56Can you wait?
08:59Give me one hour and I will resolve this peacefully.
09:02No. No way.
09:04I assume you don't want fatalities reported on the news?
09:09Fine.
09:11You want one hour?
09:12After that, we're launching an assault.
09:15Start finding a way in.
09:17You've said an hour.
09:19Surely you've learned by now not to trust her.
09:21I don't know what you mean.
09:23You will do.
09:36Patience, you okay?
09:38I-I need you to get into HQ.
09:41The whole place is locked down.
09:42No, no, no.
09:44This is the only way to access criminal records in Manchester.
09:46I can't do it from here.
09:48All right, all right.
09:50We have to get inside.
09:52Come on.
09:56Let's do it for me.
09:58There.
10:12Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
10:25Sent it.
10:26Yeah, erm...
10:32Your...
10:33sponsor was a professor.
10:35Chemistry.
10:38Shall I print it?
10:40Yeah.
10:42What's that?
10:47What's that?
10:49Erm...
10:51It-it looks like some sort of code.
10:55Could use a sigh for it.
10:59I'll need some time.
11:04Can I?
11:05Yeah.
11:12Stop.
11:24What?
11:26Erm...
11:27It's just that I always work alone in here.
11:29Not today.
11:30She's trying to prove your innocence.
11:45Mika, you need to trust her.
11:46What?
11:47I need to trust her.
11:48I need to trust her.
11:49I need to trust her.
11:50I don't know.
12:20I don't know.
12:50I don't know.
13:00There's nothing left from Suckle.
13:06Yeah.
13:07What's he doing here?
13:09He's, um, Patience's boyfriend, or was.
13:34Have you got family?
13:36Kids?
13:39Her daughter.
13:43Gemma.
13:46She's the most important thing in my life.
13:49So I want to claim my name.
13:51Tell me about her.
13:59How did you know Patience worked with me?
14:01I didn't. I was looking for her.
14:03Oh.
14:04There was stuff online about her.
14:06Said she was a genius at solving difficult cases.
14:10Yeah, she is.
14:11If you were on day release, you must be close to finishing your sentence.
14:23Just under a year.
14:25Under a year?
14:29Under a year?
14:31Why don't you wait, get a solicitor, appear of your case?
14:35Because I don't trust the law.
14:37Yeah, Cannon Banks will do that to you.
14:4125 minutes.
14:45She's got 25 minutes to solve this.
14:50She will.
14:51She will.
14:52She will.
14:53God, I could do with a drink.
14:55I'm sorry.
14:56Don't be.
14:57Don't be.
14:58So could I.
14:59You said that you knew about addiction support groups.
15:08Yeah, I've worked on cases in that world.
15:12But what led you there?
15:16My son was killed.
15:17Oh, God.
15:18I'm sorry.
15:19It was a hit and run.
15:23Noah.
15:25Who's six.
15:28He's the sweetest, smartest kid.
15:31Everybody loved him.
15:32I love you.
15:55I'm ready.
16:02Right.
16:13We're going in.
16:14Now?
16:15It's not time.
16:16She still has 15 minutes.
16:17Yeah.
16:18Exactly.
16:19It'll be a surprise.
16:20Chief Superintendent, if D.I. Munro's not ready,
16:23we'll put her and Patience in serious danger.
16:30It starts to end now.
16:32Do whatever it takes.
16:34We're going in.
16:38Clear right.
16:39Clear left.
16:40Let's get it.
16:41You two go.
16:46So, the day that he was murdered,
16:48your sponsor, David Exeter,
16:49was chairing an addiction support meeting.
16:52He kept a register.
16:53Really?
16:54It's supposed to be anonymous.
16:55Well, he used a code.
16:57And you cracked it.
16:59There was an interesting photo on his wall.
17:01A gathering of eminent scientists.
17:03In 1860 at the Karlsruin conference.
17:07Yeah.
17:08Well, it was a crucial moment in the conception of the periodic table.
17:11I'm sorry, I'm getting a GCSE chemistry flashback.
17:13Move on.
17:14It was the key to his code.
17:15So, the numbers in his notebook,
17:17they're atomic numbers.
17:18And so, I matched them with their corresponding symbols.
17:21And?
17:22Their names.
17:31What was going on?
17:33Um...
17:34Okay, we need to get out of here.
17:35Okay.
17:36Now.
17:37Okay.
17:38Move.
17:39What...
17:40Control, confirm entry made.
17:41Visibility line moving carefully, over.
17:47Control, we're secured for all one heading down to basement.
17:50Control, this is between me.
17:51Your signal is breaking up.
17:52This way.
17:53I'm police.
17:54She's with me.
17:55Yes, sir!
17:56Stand up!
17:57Stand up!
17:58Stand up!
17:59Stand up!
18:00Stand up!
18:01There you are!
18:02Passages have been recovered, sir.
18:03The suspect has not been located.
18:04Oh.
18:05Oh.
18:06Oh.
18:07Oh.
18:08Oh.
18:09Oh.
18:10Oh.
18:11Oh.
18:12Oh.
18:13Oh.
18:14Oh.
18:15Oh.
18:16Oh.
18:17Oh.
18:18Oh.
18:19Oh.
18:20Oh.
18:21Oh.
18:22Oh.
18:23Oh.
18:24Oh.
18:25Oh.
18:26Oh.
18:27Oh.
18:28Oh.
18:29Oh.
18:30Oh.
18:31Eddie and Betty are fugitive.
18:32You've outdone yourself, Monroe.
18:34You're likely to lose your job for this.
18:36This all comes back to you when you know it.
18:39Careful.
18:40You know what happens when you let your mouth run.
18:43Any word out of you in there and I'll make sure this time you can't just transfer your way out of trouble.
18:47I'm going to ask you again.
18:49Why did you bring an armed civilian into the criminal records department?
18:58Do you realise how serious this is?
19:00You're central in an internal investigation.
19:03Your job is on the line.
19:05What's he doing here?
19:07I'm waiting for an answer.
19:10May I have a word with DA Monroe in private?
19:16Yeah.
19:17She's a tricky one, isn't she?
19:18She was in my department in Manchester for a couple of years.
19:23I know you have a history with banks but you can't make this personal.
19:24Oh, not make it personal, right?
19:25Not make it personal, right?
19:26Ha!
19:27Ha!
19:28You know, banks said you couldn't be trusted.
19:31For what I've seen today.
19:32I think you might be right.
19:33I think you might be right.
19:34I think you might be right.
19:35He tried to frame it.
19:36me, sir.
19:37He tried to frame me, sir.
19:38What?
19:39What?
19:40He tried to frame me, sir.
19:41What?
19:42He's bent.
19:43He's bent.
19:44I know you have a history with banks but you can't make this personal.
19:50Oh, not make it personal, right?
19:52Ha!
19:53You know, banks said you couldn't be trusted.
19:57For what I've seen today, I think you might be right.
20:03He tried to frame me, sir.
20:05What?
20:06He's bent and I saw it time and again.
20:15Corner cutting, massaging evidence to fit the narrative, cherry picking cases.
20:20And when I called him on it, he made life very difficult for me.
20:28That's why you left.
20:29Look, I don't like the guy.
20:40If you don't play a ball now, it could cost you your job.
20:44And I don't want to lose a valued officer.
20:47It's a very long-winded compliment, sir Herbert, thank you.
20:52So, will you co-operate?
21:02I can't.
21:05His connection with Nicola Barclay isn't just to do with the prison break.
21:12What?
21:17Mum.
21:30I understand there's a conflict of interest with the previous case involving Nicola Barclay.
21:35I'm afraid, Chief Superintendent, we're going to have to step off this investigation.
21:40They'll be ridiculous.
21:43This is my division.
21:44This is my case.
21:45If you could step out, please.
21:57It might be diplomatic if you left us, Joey.
22:00Did you make any attempt to stop Miss Barclay from fleeing?
22:13What?
22:14When I was being pinned to the floor by the AR team?
22:17No.
22:18So you have no idea where she is now?
22:22I'm sorry.
22:24Okay.
22:25Please.
22:26You work with D.I. Monroe on criminal investigations, but you aren't officially in her department?
22:41No.
22:42No.
22:43I'm employed in criminal records, but the crime squad often requests my help.
22:51In what capacity?
22:54Um.
22:55Um.
22:56Well, I'm autistic, so I can help them see things in a different way.
23:09Um.
23:10Um.
23:11So, uh, these documents tell the order of the events, but I'm looking for the story.
23:15So when I lay everything out, I can see the patterns that start to emerge.
23:19And then I follow the path that they present, and more evidence appears, and then it's like reconfiguring a kaleidoscope of the pattern, and then I know how the case evolves.
23:30Hmm.
23:33Traces of silica and sodium carbonate were found at the crime scene.
23:36So, uh, 15 years ago, the victim, David Exeter, was chairing an addiction support meeting, and it was held at a disused glass factory.
23:44Hence the traces of silica and sodium carbonate.
23:46Yeah, exactly. So, Miss Barkley claimed that she wasn't at the meeting, but traces were found on her shoes and on the crime scene.
23:53Making her a suspect?
23:54Mm-hmm.
23:56But couldn't the victim have left them there? He was at the factory chair in the meeting.
24:00Well, David Exeter, he was a wheelchair user, so that means that the residue and the pattern distribution are completely different.
24:07So, investigators concluded that it was Miss Barkley who left the traces there?
24:12Yes.
24:13There's another way of looking at it, though.
24:19Miss Barkley didn't deposit traces of silica and sodium carbonate on her shoes in the victim's home. She picked it up there.
24:26So, you're saying someone else from the addiction support meeting was at the crime scene?
24:30Yes.
24:31Why were the police so stuck on Nicola Barkley? Was everyone else ruled out?
24:39They weren't even looked into. Attendees are anonymous, but it wasn't impossible to find who else was there.
24:46How do you mean?
24:47David Exeter, he kept notes in code about everyone that attended the meeting, so I compiled a list.
24:53Why didn't the team in Manchester do this?
24:58I don't know.
24:59Too focused on their golden conviction rates.
25:02They also didn't think it relevant.
25:04Why?
25:05Well, the phone record's here.
25:10Miss Barkley was the last person David Exeter called. Investigators assumed he was threatening to report her to child protection services for relapsing.
25:18So, she killed him to silence him. That's quite the supposition.
25:25Well, when they found her the next day inebriated, they took that as proof.
25:31And she paid for it for the next 15 years.
25:48Boss, I thought you might like to go to your cell.
25:51What?
25:52Yeah, we've been asked to keep you in the station, so, you know, but at least you got a bed.
25:55For Christ's sake.
25:56Yeah, I'm sorry.
25:57It's okay, you're only doing the job.
25:59What are you doing?
26:00He's trying here first.
26:02Thanks, but for God's sake, make sure Baxter doesn't find out, because you'll get disciplined for this.
26:05It was Baxter's idea.
26:11Patience.
26:14Oh, God, I'm so sorry.
26:15What?
26:16We're not supposed to be talking.
26:17Well, sod that.
26:18Are you okay?
26:21Um...
26:25Well, yeah, they took my headphones and my backpack, but I'm...
26:28Yeah, I'm fine.
26:29Hey, look, we haven't got much time, and God knows what Banks is cooking up, but it's pretty clear.
26:34You both think that Nicola was innocent, yeah?
26:36Yeah.
26:37And I'm sure that she knows that we think that, so why did she disappear?
26:40We were gonna help her.
26:41I explained the whole thing, like, where did she go? I don't get it.
26:43Well...
26:46Well, maybe she got what she wanted already.
26:48What?
26:49Well, the list of names, everyone at the addiction support meeting.
26:51Yeah, but we hadn't figured out who the killer was yet.
26:53Well, she can. She's resourceful.
26:56Yeah, and tough.
26:57Fifteen years in prison will do that for you, let alone what she went through before.
27:00You mean, the murder of her sponsor?
27:02And losing her six-year-old son.
27:05What?
27:06He was killed with a hit-and-run, eighteen years ago.
27:09What happened to the driver?
27:11Never found.
27:17I'd like to make a phone call, please.
27:20He's not making up.
27:36There's no answer.
27:37Um, what time is it?
27:38Uh-huh.
27:39Seven-thirty.
27:40I'd believe we were running the group now.
27:41Um...
27:42Can I try one more number?
27:43But you know her.
27:44What, do you seriously think patients would knowingly be guilty of assisting an escaped prisoner?
27:46I'm doing what I can.
27:48I can't say more than that.
27:49I can't say more than that.
27:50I just can't say more than that.
27:51What, do you, do you think patients would knowingly be guilty of assisting an escaped prisoner?
28:09I'm doing what I can.
28:10I can't say more than that.
28:11I can't say more than that.
28:19Patience.
28:21Elliot?
28:22Hey, I...
28:24Are you OK?
28:26Erm...
28:28Well, I've gotten myself into some trouble.
28:31Yeah, I know.
28:34Listen, I know we're not, erm...
28:38Dating... anymore.
28:40But erm...
28:42I really need you to do something for me.
28:45OK.
28:55Everything all right?
28:58Yeah?
29:04Sir?
29:08Any chance you can...
29:10pull any strings in Manchester?
29:38Pick us up in Manchester?
29:40Yeah.
29:41Manchester says you need some tonight.
29:42Yeah.
29:50Hello.
29:51Do you mind the phone?
29:57You all right?
29:58I've got a little sign for you.
29:59I've got a little sign for you.
30:28Miss Evans?
30:29You've requested a medical professional?
30:31Miss Evans?
30:32You've requested a medical professional?
30:40You can see.
30:44I understand there's something I can actually help you with, Miss Evans.
30:47You all right, boss?
30:48How you doing?
30:49Well, the linen could do with the linen. The bellboy's a bit of a drag.
31:02Well, I brought you some room service, so...
31:04Oh!
31:05Cheers!
31:09Sorry.
31:10I can't drink that.
31:11Well, maybe a fat rascal will have to take the airdrop.
31:13I drove across town this morning to get those fresh just how you like them.
31:16Oh!
31:17You good lad.
31:21What's the news?
31:22Banks is about to hold a press conference.
31:24What?
31:25Why?
31:26Probably to craft some suitable narrative for himself.
31:28Mm.
31:29And throw me and Patience under the bus to cover his ass.
31:32Yep.
31:34Has Evans got all her facts lined up?
31:35Well, she's gone for her whole packet of highlighters, so...
31:37Mm.
31:38Mm.
31:39And it's time to strike.
31:49What?
31:50Chief Superintendent Banks.
31:53Could you pop into the office, please?
31:55It's about D.A. Monroe and Miss Evans.
31:57No, absolutely not.
31:59They had their chance and it wasn't convincing as no doubt Wallace realised.
32:02They'll get what's coming to them and there's nothing they can do about it.
32:05I, er, I'm going to have to insist.
32:08You're going to want to hear them out.
32:12Fine.
32:13It's better not take long.
32:19They really did all this?
32:21Yep.
32:22You and Will have got to find this man.
32:24Sir.
32:25What's this?
32:26You want to intimidate me?
32:27You'll need more than numbers on your side.
32:28You're in an embarrassing situation, sir.
32:30Losing an armed escaped prisoner from a building surrounded by police.
32:33As my friend in PR would say, the optics aren't going to play.
32:36Hmm.
32:37Hmm.
32:38Well, you can be sure I'll make the public very aware of what a fantastic job city of York police did in his
32:42establishing that situation in the first place.
32:43We understand you're about to deliver a press conference and obviously all this will be
32:47done as far as the country's work.
32:48Okay.
32:49Well, I'm going to have to do this.
32:50What's this?
32:51You want to intrigue me?
32:52You'll need more than numbers on your side.
32:53You're in an embarrassing situation, sir.
32:54Losing an armed escaped prisoner from a building surrounded by police.
32:58As my friend in PR would say, the optics aren't going to play.
33:01going to play. Well, you can be sure I'll make the public very aware of what a
33:05fantastic job City of York Police did in establishing that situation in the
33:08first place. We understand you're about to deliver a press conference and
33:12obviously all this will come out but if you wait we think we can deliver Nicola
33:19Barkley to you. And you can look like you're doing your job. Where is she then?
33:24We're working on that but we know where she's headed and we know what she wants.
33:27What she wants? Sadly a revelation. She wants to overturn her conviction. No, she
33:35isn't chasing exoneration, she's chasing revenge sir. 18 years ago Nicola's son
33:42was killed in a hit-and-run. The child was left for dead and the driver was never
33:46found and it turns out the real reason that Nicola came to us is to learn the
33:49identity of the person who was driving that car. We managed to obtain the car
33:56accident report pertaining to the death of Miss Barkley's son in Manchester. We have
34:01a witness who stated after the car smashed into the wall the driver quickly
34:04fled the scene. With that small bit of information I was able to work out the
34:09identity of the driver but for the rest I needed the help of Dr Parsons. I have a
34:14contact at Manchester Royal Infirmary A&E. Meet me ex-husband actually. Anyway Tim found a
34:20traumatology case that was logged in A&E the day after the accident. The patient's
34:25name Andrew Montague. Andrew Montague attended his first addiction support
34:32meeting the same day that David Exeter, Nicola's sponsor, was killed. How do you know? It's impossible
34:38to find out who's in those rooms their anonymity is protected. And yet Miss Evans
34:43managed to put together a list in 20 minutes. We didn't need a list. We had a guilty
34:48suspect. She had traces of silica in a shoe. All that was disgrooved chief
34:52superintendent by Miss Evans. We believe that Andrew Montague confided in his new
35:00AA sponsor that he killed Nicola's son in a hit and run. David tried to persuade
35:07Andrew to confess in person. So he rang Nicola to say that he was with someone who
35:13wanted to own up to the hit and run. But Andrew wasn't ready to accept responsibility for his
35:19crimes. So he killed David and fled the scene. When Nicola turned up he was already dead.
35:25If you're telling me that Nicola Barkley wants revenge on Andrew Montague then why are we
35:31stood round here wasting time? My team are looking for a no. D.I. Munro, Miss Evans,
35:36you're free to go pending a decision. Given the irregularities that have come to light
35:43regarding the David Exeter case I'll be opening an investigation with Manchester
35:48police. You might want to cancel that press conference. Frankie.
36:10Hi Elliot. Sorry. Hi. Seems like that was a success. Yeah. Sorry I just wanted to say thank
36:34you for helping us. And that we couldn't have done it without you. So how are you? Yeah, I'm
36:49fine. Great. Good. Yeah. Well, I'd better be off. Okay. Yeah.
37:04Yeah, we've got an address for Andrew Montague, but the traffic's a nightmare. And our blue
37:11lights ain't helping. Backup's on the way.
37:20Um, Elliot. Um, I'm not fine. What? All good. I messed up.
37:33Oh, um, I got in my head. And I know you're with that woman from the soccer team now. And
37:40I understand, but I just needed to tell you. Um, what? Well, Sarah? No, no, no. I mean,
37:48it would go on a couple of days, but it wasn't right. It wasn't? No. Why? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
37:54Oh, my God. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Because I like someone else. We found Andrew Montague. Um, I need you... Yeah, go. Okay.
38:11We found Andrew Montagu.
38:18Um, I need you.
38:21Yeah, go.
38:22OK.
38:33Dear Anne Munro, can I come with you?
38:35No.
38:36I solved this case, the hit and run, David Exeter's murder, without me.
38:43Fine.
38:44What?
38:45Well, get on then.
38:47Er...
38:48Hold on tight, because I'm not going to slow down for you.
38:50Er...
39:01Hello, Andrew.
39:02You killed myself.
39:04I did what you're talking about.
39:05Yes, you did.
39:06Get up the stairs.
39:07Somebody help!
39:08Get your voice down or I'll kill you now!
39:10What are you talking about?
39:12Just get up!
39:22They're on the roof!
39:24What?
39:25Er...
39:26Put this on.
39:27OK.
39:28Um...
39:29I'm not going to jump if that's what you want.
39:37You're going to have to shoot me.
39:39Oh, no.
39:50OK, OK.
39:51Honestly, I didn't know he was dead until I heard.
39:54I'm sorry.
39:55I'm sorry.
39:56You're going to take responsibility.
39:59Well, you're going to take responsibility now!
40:02For David and for my boy!
40:05Nicola.
40:07Hey!
40:11Nicola, Patience did it.
40:12She found proof to clear your name.
40:13If you let him go, we're going to arrest him.
40:15And charge him.
40:16OK?
40:17Trust me.
40:18You're too late!
40:20I've waited years for this!
40:21You're not going to take it away from me now!
40:23You don't want to do this, Nicola.
40:24You don't want to do this.
40:25Think about your daughter.
40:26I've not been a mother to Gemma for a long time!
40:30She's the wrong person now!
40:32But no one will never grow up!
40:34Never!
40:36Stay back!
40:37I will kill him!
40:38Ms. Bartley!
40:43I...
40:45Sorry.
40:47D.I. Monroe, she always tells me I...
40:51I focus too much on the numbers and statistics.
40:57But...
40:59She's taught me to really look at the person and...
41:04When I look at you, I don't see a killer.
41:09She's right, Nicola.
41:11She's right.
41:12Put the gun down, Nicola.
41:13Just put the gun down.
41:22Get down!
41:24It wasn't me!
41:25Get down!
41:26Get down on the floor!
41:27Get down!
41:31I'm fine.
41:32It's fine.
41:47Every morning in prison, I woke up knowing my son was dead.
41:52I knew he was still out there.
41:55Walking around like nothing happened.
41:57The rest of the shield, he won't be walking around like that anymore.
42:01You've paid the price and you shouldn't have.
42:04I'm sorry.
42:05I'm sorry.
42:10Hi, boss.
42:11How are you feeling?
42:12Peachy.
42:13Anything we can do?
42:15Yeah, don't cock it up before I get back.
42:18Yep, she's fine.
42:22Underestimated you, you crazy badass.
42:26Mick.
42:29I...
42:31Well...
42:32You're dangerously unpredictable and chaotic, but...
42:36I'm glad you came to York.
42:42Welcome back, Mum.
42:43I've tidied up your office.
42:44What?
42:45Only joking.
42:47What happened with Nicola's case?
42:48Good news, her conviction's been overturned.
42:49And what about the stuff she pulled last week?
42:50Well, there'll be repercussions, but she's already served 15 years,
42:51so there's likely to be some leniency.
42:52Have you heard about banks?
42:53I'm guessing he's out for revenge.
42:54Well, luckily this whole hostage thing hasn't played.
42:55No kidding.
42:56Well it is, he's a tough job.
42:57You're well, I'm sorry.
42:58But I don't know why that is a mess.
