Sir Keir Starmer says he needs time to turn the country around and wants voters to judge him by the next election. Do you trust him to deliver, or do people on the streets of the north east think he should step aside now?

00:00I think he's an awful person. I used to be very pro-Labour, very Jeremy Corbyn, but since he's taken over, it's not Labour anymore. I don't know what it is. It's awful. I don't support him at all.
00:15I imagine it's a very difficult job. I'm of the opinion that I'm not sure whoever in charge could do any different, and I'm just glad it's not me. And you've got to trust the people that have been voted in and are in charge to make the right decisions for you, I guess.
00:31I don't know. Where do you start? There's so many things that they've done wrong. I think a lot of people just don't trust politicians because how can they be trusted? They've shown themselves to be untrustworthy again and again and again and again.
00:44It's terrible the way that people feel so disenfranchised with the government. The amount of sleaze associated with it, I think, is putting a lot of people off.
