00:00Previously on Doc...
00:02I don't suppose I ever met him.
00:03Once we all went out to dinner one time.
00:05You told me there were some things I needed to tell him.
00:08And did you?
00:09I've been having memory seizures.
00:11The fact that you collapsed tells me that you could be headed for cerebral edema.
00:13You need to take an oral dose daily.
00:15But I never changed my own proxy.
00:17Part of me still thinks she knows me best.
00:19That one.
00:20What?
00:20Amy Larson TMS recordings.
00:22You realize we can blow up all of our relationships with this?
00:30What?
00:31Amy Larson TMS
01:00okay so today is the day right today's the day no more putting this off and run me through it
01:25dr larson you've been chief for three months and they have been just about the worst three months
01:30of my life you are harsh you are condescending you treat interns like they're med students and
01:34although i can take it being around that horrible energy all day is just soul-sucking sounds like a
01:39great start you think it'll fly be serious give me the real all right i have had an amazing time
01:45working here i really respect and admire you blah blah blah and although i know it's not customary
01:51for an intern to leave this early in their tenure i do have an opportunity at johns hopkins my
01:55beautiful wife has family in baltimore etc etc so it would mean a lot if you would bless this and write
02:02me a letter of recommendation i'm assuming the blah blah blah and the etc will be something coherent
02:09something coherent i'll figure something out well then okay stud go get her yeah
02:16i need cpaps induction meds ppe and ventilators i understand that it's barely penetrated the u.s
02:26but we don't want to be caught with our pants down it's coming dr kamara wishing it away is not a
02:33strategy uh was that about the the coronavirus yeah i'm just trying to stay ahead of it but i don't
02:40want you panicking people no yeah yeah of course not have you read anything about it cdc and nih
02:46alerts i studied a few of the case reports out of wuhan yeah what do you make of it well i'm no
02:50epidemiologist but it does seem to act in strange ways well buckle up we may find out soon enough
02:56now you had a question for me oh uh yeah i i was um i was just gonna ask you if uh maybe i could
03:07see a few patients on my own today i feel like i'm ready for that you understand why
03:11i have things organized the way that i do with all of the interns being supervised you don't want
03:15any mistakes right so don't make any
03:20thank you
03:24okay shauna you had a fever up to 101 101.2 yesterday morning okay and loose bowels
03:33a little for a day or two but er sent me here because he said i have some problem in my kidney
03:38yeah you have a clot in the artery that's going to your left kidney but we can treat it with a
03:43medication called heparin what causes this you know it could be a variety of things including
03:47dehydration but we'll run some blood work to investigate that anything else going on in terms
03:51of symptoms not really no all right well i'll have a nurse come in and she'll take some blood
03:57and we'll get that ivy set up and i see you got the meatloaf you gotta be careful and get a little
04:02gnarly it doesn't much matter right now barely tastes anything
04:06what was that oh i can't really taste anything the last few days
04:11that's not a big deal is it um i'm not sure yet
04:20i want you to smell this tell me what you think it is
04:29i gotta smell anything what is it
04:3354 year old man with complications from lupus he has been on methyl trexate for three days but he
04:54is still suffering from joint inflammation and pleuritis what do we do next dr larson
04:58can i have a word are you interrupting my rounds i'm sorry but i don't think this can wait
05:03you better have the answer when i get back
05:07yes i have a 32 year old female patient that's presenting with gi issues and a low-grade fever
05:14the er diagnosed with an artery thrombosis but she has a complete loss of smell
05:17so you're thinking there were two cases of anosmia in wuhan so i pulled up the case reports out of it
05:25really there were three there as well yeah but in those cases it developed much later in the cycle
05:30i get that but we also know that it seems to keep morphing in this presentation
05:33the fact that i was discussing this this morning when you walked into my office
05:37not that impression or look into score points chasing zebras
05:41look the last thing i want is to have coronavirus in our hospital
05:44breathe in for me
05:47breathe in for me and out
05:50does that hurt no any coughing or shortness of breath no
05:57what about fatigue i'm a little tired and uh i'm a bit jet-legged
06:05what about her blood work i haven't sent anybody in here to do that yet
06:09not that you saw her well maybe you should do that now yourself
06:14there are 350 million people in this country and 71 confirmed cases none in minnesota
06:24well there's always a first so you want to shut down internal medicine quarantine everyone on the
06:28floor and send panic through the whole hospital on the hunch of an intern
06:32i examine the patient and i support dr heller's diagnosis
06:35based on loss of smell and fine crackles in both lung bases plus the blood work shows low
06:40platelets both of which suggest adenovirus any evidence of widespread clotting not yet
06:45no has she been in china or italy she did just find from new york where there's one confirmed
06:50case so far but there's no real testing and obviously people from all over the world come
06:55through there we have no confirmed contact no cough no respiratory distress five out of the 18
07:00cases in washington had gi issues you're stretching if you don't report this to public
07:04health and contact trace in 24 hours it'll be too late enough of this hysteria dr larson this is
07:11not hysteria although the pushback seems like it might be i'm not taking a call from the governor
07:15about this we can revisit in 24 hours if you have more evidence well i certainly admire your courage
07:20careful dr larson apparently it's your job to be careful it's our job to do what we think is right
07:34you okay the cemeteries are always hard
07:53you ever meet him no he lived in arizona don't think he got here much
08:05why didn't they put the jar in yet we're gonna do that after the ceremony but the shovels yeah
08:19yeah you'll see at first everybody's gonna line up and they'll take a shovel but what we do is we
08:26turn it upside down like this so it only holds a small amount of dirt and then we take just that
08:33small amount of dirt and we pour it back into the hole that's our way of saying to saba we're burying
08:39you but we want to go slowly because we don't want to say goodbye yet okay
08:43you
08:49you
08:51you
08:57you
08:59you
09:02you
09:03Amen.
09:33There were a lot of things unspoken between me and my dad, a lot that went unsaid, like
09:54a lot of fathers and sons, I'm sure.
10:00I lost my mom when I was 14, and I didn't realize it at the time, but I realize now what my
10:08dad lost.
10:11He lost his best friend.
10:14My mom, she was his rock, his anchor, and my dad never let me or Ali feel that, because
10:23he knew he needed to be our rock.
10:28A lot of you know how sick my mom was and how much she suffered, and I never told him,
10:35but my dad, he always knew that's why I wanted to be a doctor, so that I could help people
10:40the way that I couldn't help her.
10:48He always wanted me to take over the family business, but he knew that I needed to take
10:52a different path, so he put his head down and he worked 14 hours a day for my dreams.
10:59He didn't need to say why or take credit or tell people what he was sacrificing.
11:06He just did it.
11:08I'm a different generation, so I talk a lot more about things than he did, but at the
11:14end of the day, I just hope that I can do the things that matter like he did, because talk
11:21is cheap, and my dad, he just gave from his heart.
11:28Hey.
11:29Hey.
11:30Hey.
11:31Hey.
11:32Hey.
11:33I know you're not supposed to bring flowers.
11:38Is that ruggala?
11:39I didn't know how to pronounce it, but yes.
11:40And bagels.
11:41I think we're pretty clear on how to say that.
11:42Yeah, fantastic.
11:44I think we're up to like 85 dozen.
11:45Can you just, can you just drop it in the kitchen?
11:46Of course.
11:47Okay.
11:48Okay.
11:49Okay.
11:50Okay.
11:51Okay.
11:52Okay.
11:53Okay.
11:54Okay.
11:55Okay.
11:56Okay.
11:57Okay.
11:58Okay.
11:59Okay.
12:00Okay.
12:01Okay.
12:02Okay.
12:03Okay.
12:04Okay.
12:05Okay.
12:06Okay.
12:07Okay.
12:08Okay.
12:09Okay.
12:10I love what you said about him.
12:11Oh, thank you.
12:12I, I don't know.
12:13I didn't really prepare anything.
12:14I got you texts this morning.
12:17I'm sorry I didn't write back.
12:18No, you've got your hands pretty full.
12:21Yeah.
12:22Yeah.
12:23It's a, it's a lot of family.
12:24Yeah.
12:25Mia is adorable.
12:26Yeah.
12:27She looks like you.
12:28I do see a lot of my dad in there too though.
12:32Huh.
12:33How's she taking it?
12:34Ah, I don't know.
12:35I don't know. I don't think she understands you.
12:39No, I'm sure.
12:40Yeah.
12:41What about you? How are you holding up?
12:43Me?
12:44You collapsed a couple days ago?
12:46Oh, yeah. I'm fine.
12:50Are you taking your meds?
12:51Yes, I am.
12:56Listen.
12:59Look, I was in a pretty low place the other night when I called you.
13:03Yeah, of course you were.
13:04I mean, I just, I hope I didn't send any mixed signals.
13:11The only signal I got was that you wanted to talk to somebody who had met your dad.
13:17The fact that I didn't remember him probably doesn't help.
13:22But, yeah, I obviously understand loss, so it makes sense that you would call me.
13:27Yeah. Yeah, I guess it does.
13:32Anyway, I'm glad you're here.
13:33I am your friend, Jake.
13:36No matter what.
13:40Jakey, can I borrow you?
13:42Your cousins want to say hello?
13:44Yeah, of course.
13:45I'll talk to you in a bit.
13:46Yeah.
13:46How's the body language been?
13:51They were kind of having a moment earlier, but it was hard to tell.
13:54They could just be playing it cool because they're in front of everyone at the hospital.
13:57Well, it is much more explosive for us if they're sleeping together, so, you know, maybe try to find out.
14:01Hi there.
14:09I'm Rachel, Jake's ex-wife.
14:11Yeah.
14:12Hi.
14:12I'm Amy Larson.
14:13Nice to meet you.
14:14And lovely house.
14:16Jake chose it way back when.
14:18So Mia was born here?
14:21Born and raised.
14:22Well, not a home birth.
14:23I'm not one of those.
14:25You know what I mean.
14:26Yeah.
14:26Big bully her in the epidural.
14:28No duelist for this girl.
14:30Just a little heads up.
14:31Stay away from Aunt Sarah.
14:33Oh, God.
14:33What is she saying now?
14:34Just that you're the harlot who broke his heart and you shouldn't be hosting this.
14:38Harlot?
14:39Well, that is a new one.
14:41Amy, this is Allie, Jake's sister.
14:44Hi.
14:44Amy was chief when Jake was an intern.
14:46Oh, right.
14:48And then you had that car accident and you lost, like, 12 years of your memory.
14:51Allie?
14:52What?
14:52It was eight, actually.
14:54I mean, it's fine.
14:55It's not like it's a secret.
14:57Well, he told us some stories about you.
14:59Really?
14:59Oh, yeah.
15:00Hated you at first, but then he really came to respect you.
15:03And you made him chief resident, which was a really big deal for him.
15:07He's a great doctor.
15:08And an even better man.
15:10He practically raised Allie after their mom died.
15:13Yeah, he told me that.
15:15He did?
15:18Well, long nights on call.
15:21What else are you going to talk about besides your childhood?
15:25Right?
15:28These are so good.
15:30Pass me one.
15:32I feel so stupid.
15:33I brought flowers instead of food.
15:35Well, if you're not going to contribute, maybe don't load up like that.
15:40You shouldn't say stuff like that to a woman.
15:43Okay, so tell me the deal here.
15:45This is Jake's ex-wife's house?
15:48Uh, it was his house till he moved out.
15:50And when did they get divorced?
15:52Uh, a couple years ago.
15:53Because they look pretty snug, no?
15:56Well, I think that's somewhat performative for their daughter's sake.
15:59You know, I'm getting a feeling there might be something between him and Amy.
16:04What?
16:05You don't see that?
16:06Uh, no.
16:09But you do.
16:10I plead the fifth.
16:14Come on.
16:14Wait, are you talking about before or after her accident?
16:19Uh, both.
16:21How am I the last one to know about this?
16:23Maybe because you think of her as the Virgin Mary up on her pedestal.
16:27And what about now?
16:28I mean, I don't think Dr. Ridley is going to be letting people date their superiors, do you?
16:33No, probably not.
16:34Where is she today anyway?
16:36I mean, Dr. Hamda's here and he's CMO.
16:38Oh, she's out of town at some conference and he's just a good guy.
16:42Of course, he's also part of a weird triangle, right?
16:47And you were able to defrost it okay?
16:50Amazing.
16:51Thank you so much, Katie.
16:53We should be home in a couple hours.
16:56Love you too.
16:59I can't believe she's going away to college.
17:01I'm really going to miss her.
17:02Still 18 years till the empty nest, so...
17:06We got that going for us.
17:07Yeah, we do.
17:12You're an intern again, which means Jake's your boss now?
17:17Uh, yeah.
17:19Delicious, right?
17:20It's kind of like Freaky Friday or something.
17:22Kind of like freaky every day.
17:24Uh-oh.
17:29Rachel.
17:30Sorry?
17:31Did you invite Leslie?
17:35I told her I was hosting.
17:36Okay, well, I want her gone.
17:38Seriously?
17:41She'll break up our marriage.
17:42Yeah, unless you plan on her bringing another DJ for you to sleep with?
17:45All these fireworks between these two, they went to college together, right?
17:51Yeah, and sometimes he'll date someone else, sometimes she'll date someone else, but they
17:56can't seem to shake each other, no matter how hard they try.
17:59I hear you, and I'm sorry, okay?
18:02I'll ask her to leave.
18:05I'm sorry.
18:05I just don't want to look at her face today.
18:08I get it.
18:10See?
18:12Yeah.
18:12For sure.
18:14I keep telling him he just needs to forgive her and end the suspense for everyone, but
18:18maybe today will be the day.
18:20Yeah.
18:21Grief, it can be very clarifying.
18:31Okay, Anna Banana.
18:33I sent it.
18:34What do you mean you sent it?
18:35Sent it to who?
18:36Like we talked about.
18:37First the new wife, then the mimbo.
18:42Now just sit back and watch the powder cake explode.
18:45You think I have coronavirus?
18:48We're saying that there's a chance you have it, which is why we need to keep you isolated
18:52until we're sure.
18:53And what are these drugs you're giving me?
18:55It's an antiviral medication along with a low dose of chloroquine.
18:58What if you're wrong?
19:00I thought nobody even knows how to treat this.
19:02We are simply following the protocols that have been used in other hospitals, and both of
19:06these are harmless, so we're just doing this preemptively now.
19:09If your situation escalates, we could potentially add in antibiotics, but we don't want to rush
19:13into that yet.
19:13I don't understand.
19:14I haven't been around anyone who has it.
19:17That you know of.
19:18That's a problem.
19:19And how would I have gotten it?
19:20You flew out of JFK.
19:21Anything you touched could have had germs.
19:23Okay, so you think it happened at the airport because I was with my mom and grandma right
19:28before?
19:28You should call them and tell them to isolate in case you got it before the airport.
19:33A lot of people are dying of this, aren't they?
19:38Young and healthy people.
19:41We're not going to let you die.
19:42Look, I wasn't going to contradict you in front of her because that would have just
19:48made her more anxious, but we don't make promises we can't keep.
19:51I know, but she's young.
19:52She has no comorbidities.
19:53Do not for a second make an assumption about what you think you know, or have read, or heard
19:59from another doctor.
20:00Do you understand?
20:01Yes.
20:01Okay, remind the nurses that no one goes in there and watch her like a hawk.
20:06I will, and thank you.
20:08For what?
20:09You could have brought in attendings on this.
20:11Don't make me regret it.
20:12I won't.
20:15Dr. Heller.
20:18Yeah.
20:18Okay.
20:18Get a telemetry set up in pathology, and then meet me there.
20:23Okay.
20:23Um, what for?
20:25We're going to jerry-rig a COVID test.
20:28Give me 10.
20:29We could pull the genetic code from China and potentially convert our influenza PCR, but
20:34we need new short DNA primers and probes.
20:36That'll take too long.
20:37I'm thinking HIV.
20:38Well, it could work, but you'd need a serum sample from a confirmed case.
20:42Yeah, I'm having one courier from Washington.
20:43It should be here in an hour.
20:45Then what are we waiting for?
20:46Okay.
21:29O2 shots are dropped.
21:31I can take it from here.
21:32Go.
21:40No, Mom, I don't know.
21:41I don't know.
21:43Shauna, you're in respiratory distress.
21:46They're going to put you on a ventilator.
21:47What are they saying there, baby?
21:49Here, please, please.
21:51Hi, this is Tanner.
21:52I'm Dr. Amy Larson.
21:54She's saying you think she has the corona.
21:55We don't know that yet for sure.
21:57You need to stay away from other people until we figure this out.
22:00Well, I don't have any symptoms, and neither does my mother.
22:02That's good, but we still don't know how long the incubation period is.
22:05Let me call you back, okay?
22:08Okay, Shauna.
22:09I'm going to have to intubate you, which means we're going to put this tube down your
22:11throat, but we'll put you to sleep first so you don't feel any pain.
22:14Just please tell my mom what to do.
22:16We will.
22:16I promise.
22:23If that patient needs to be on a ventilator, she should be in the ICU.
22:26What's going on here?
22:27I'm not comfortable moving her.
22:29That's what's going on.
22:29You're not comfortable because she has C. diff?
22:31Stay in your lane, Julie.
22:33You think she has the coronavirus, and you're not telling any of us.
22:35You're right.
22:36We do think she has it, but the board doesn't buy it, and they don't want anybody to panic.
22:40We sequestered her, and if all goes well, we'll be able to test her soon.
22:43Look, I get it.
22:44You're scared.
22:45You want to go home?
22:46Fine.
22:46But if you stay, you need to sit tight and think about what's best for everybody here.
22:51And that means you need to trust us and keep your mouth shut.
22:55As soon as you know, I know.
22:57Of course.
22:57Okay, what's next?
23:05Add a broad-spectrum antibiotics and a bronchodilator.
23:08Maybe that'll open up our airways.
23:10Yes, ma'am.
23:11And Jake, the next time you call me ma'am, you're going to be on scut work for six months.
23:18Noted.
23:25That's what you do.
23:27I can't believe he's gone.
23:35When was the last time you saw him?
23:38April in Arizona.
23:40You?
23:41Too long.
23:43I skipped out on dinner in the middle of it.
23:45I left him alone with the woman I was seeing at the time.
23:48Oh, my God.
23:49Jake.
23:52I guess he opened up to her, though.
23:54I got back to her place that night, and she said that he thought he was a failure as a father.
24:01Oh, jeez.
24:02She told me I should tell him how much I appreciated everything he did for us, but when I said he knows, I mean, I just never got around to making sure.
24:10I also said I'd visit him.
24:12Didn't do that either.
24:13Who was she, this woman?
24:24No.
24:25Oh, my God.
24:27Wow.
24:28Just reach her.
24:28No.
24:29No.
24:30Absolutely not.
24:30We're not together anymore, so this needs to stay in the vault.
24:34Okay.
24:43You know, I think you're the only Jewish dad in America who's disappointed his son became a doctor.
24:46If hospitals had jerseys, I may have felt differently.
24:50What an athlete he was.
24:51Three sports, captain of all of them.
24:57Oh, this is weird.
24:59What?
25:00Amy sent me an email.
25:02What?
25:03What is it?
25:04I don't know.
25:05It's an audio file.
25:26What?
25:28No.
25:28Nora?
25:30Nora!
25:32Nora, what is it?
25:36I have to go.
25:36Nora!
25:37Honey!
25:38Just give me the keys.
25:39I'm going home.
25:40Please, just talk to me.
25:41I swear to God, I will scream and make a scene.
25:43Now, give me the keys.
25:44I need to know whatever's on there.
25:49I sent it to you.
25:53You record your therapy sessions?
26:05Sometimes.
26:06Yeah.
26:06What's going on?
26:07Nora just got an email from you.
26:09What?
26:09I didn't send her anything.
26:10It was one of your TMS sessions.
26:12You were discussing some very personal things, damaging things to me.
26:16Well, I didn't send her that.
26:20Michael, why would I send her that?
26:22Okay.
26:23You're a maniac.
26:24Guess that means the bomb went off?
26:26Obviously, she was hacked.
26:27For all we know, it was the whole hospital.
26:30I'm going to call IT right now.
26:31When you get home, change all your passwords.
26:33Okay.
26:34You ought to lose your license.
26:38If it came from your email, it'll be in the send folder.
26:40We need to hear it.
26:42I'm still trying to get my head around that kiss in the elevator.
26:45How so?
26:47Well, it was pretty hot.
26:50Especially for someone who doesn't love me anymore.
26:53Whoever said that?
26:54He did, basically.
26:55No.
26:56He said he moved forward because you disappeared.
26:59So what?
27:00He doesn't really love Nora?
27:02I'm sure he loves her.
27:03And I know he's really grateful to her for how she was there to help him pick up the pieces.
27:09But?
27:10Let's just say I was at their wedding, and he did not look like a man who was all there.
27:17Why would somebody send that to her from my account?
27:22They're trying to hurt you.
27:23By hurting them?
27:24No, by making you look unhinged.
27:28Oh, my God.
27:31What?
27:33Okay.
27:35That meeting that I missed with Joan, the one where I supposedly replied but didn't remember,
27:42and that medication where I gave the wrong dose, somebody's coming after me.
27:49Yes, I wanted to do this, but not at his father's funeral.
27:51In for a penny.
27:53In for a pound.
27:54Hey.
27:59Hey.
27:59I'm so sorry.
28:00I have to go.
28:02Oh, really?
28:03Yeah, I'm just, I'm not feeling great.
28:05Oh, yeah, of course.
28:06Go take care of yourself.
28:07I remember some of our dinner with your father.
28:12But I thought they said that wasn't possible.
28:15Gina says if it's important enough, a memory can break through the medication.
28:19Oh.
28:19You bet at $3.98.
28:25And he was really proud to have you as a son.
28:31Try to hold on to that.
28:34Yeah.
28:34Is it just me, or did that look awfully intimate between them?
28:44No.
28:45I just found out like 30 minutes ago.
28:49Are you sure?
28:50Because this could be a massive security breach.
28:53Is that IT?
28:55It looks like you were the only one targeted.
28:57Well, can they see who did it?
28:58They're still digging into it.
29:00Yeah, I'm here.
29:04We're sitting crackles about lungs and wheezing.
29:11We're too sad.
29:12They're still dropping.
29:13We've got up the pressure.
29:14No, if we do that, we could cause a pneumothorax.
29:19I just don't understand why our lungs are so stiff.
29:22They're supposed to be opening.
29:23There shouldn't be this much inflammation.
29:25It's like her body is attacking her lungs.
29:27If that were true, then we'd have to pull her off the ventilator and bomb her with the corticosteroids.
29:30Exactly.
29:31Has anyone tried that?
29:33No idea.
29:33But it's not like anyone's reporting anything with confidence.
29:42She's clotting now.
29:44This inflammation's everywhere.
29:45Okay, I think we've got to call the CDC or the NIH.
29:48Her CO2 is rising.
29:49There's no time.
29:50Treat the patient in front of you.
29:52If we're wrong, we'll kill her.
29:54Well, you want to go back to rounding with the interns?
29:56This is what it means to be a doctor.
29:58Tell me everything you know.
30:03They refused to take her to the ICU, but they put her on a ventilator.
30:05Then they take her off the ventilator, put her on steroids.
30:08Now they've just rushed her down to the IR procedure room.
30:10All this after telling me no one but them should even go into her room.
30:12So what do you think is going on?
30:14I know what's going on.
30:15They think she has coronavirus, but no one wants to tell the rest of us.
30:17Advancing the microcatheter.
30:26The clot's just passed a break.
30:27You're longer.
30:29You want to tell me what the hell you're doing?
30:31We took her off the ventilator and her oxygenation improved, but now she's clotting.
30:35So we're dealing with that.
30:36You gave a patient with adenovirus, antivirals, chloroquine, broad spectrum antibiotics, and steroids
30:42all in six hours when she came in here with a GI issue.
30:44You drove her to this, and now she may lose her limbs.
30:47She doesn't have adenovirus.
30:48She has coronavirus, and she may die.
30:51So why don't you back off and let us do her work?
30:53Keep the infusion running.
30:55Don't stop for anything.
30:56If she doesn't have coronavirus, I will make sure you never practice again.
31:04Okay.
31:05We're at the clot.
31:06Push TPA.
31:08I can't believe you're still there.
31:10It's so late.
31:10Yeah.
31:11Yeah, I know.
31:12It's been kind of a crazy day.
31:13Well, have you asked for the letter yet?
31:14Not yet.
31:17You're not chickening out on me, are you?
31:18No.
31:19No.
31:19Allie's got a friend in Potomac who's a great realtor.
31:22We may even be able to afford something in Bethesda.
31:24Yeah, that sounds great.
31:26I'm glad you're excited.
31:27Well, then rip off the band-aid and get the recommendation.
31:29Yeah, I will.
31:30Hey, listen, I gotta go.
31:32I'll call you in a little bit, okay?
31:33Okay.
31:35Clots are dissipating.
31:36Okay.
31:37Her fusions returning to her arms.
31:39Still waiting on her legs.
31:41Respiratory status?
31:42Oh, two stats are climbing.
31:44A bit.
31:45Fine rails in her lungs.
31:46We're really not gonna know anything until the morning.
31:50What did Dr. Franco say?
31:52She's run three tests so far on negative.
31:55There must be an issue with the substrate.
31:57Unless we're wrong.
31:58You have a wife and kid, right?
32:05Yeah, daughter.
32:07Go.
32:07I've got this.
32:08I know you're gonna say the buck stops here, but I got you into this, so I stay.
32:13I got myself into this the day I signed up for med school.
32:18But I'm glad you're gonna see it through.
32:22Yeah.
32:23Why don't you hit the on-call room?
32:27We can monitor her in shifts.
32:31Okay.
32:40But that's the thing.
32:41We took her off the ventilator and she seemed to rebound.
32:44But she doesn't have coronavirus.
32:46I don't know how you can say that when there's so little data.
32:49Well, unless you know something the CDC and the NIH don't, then, uh...
32:52Hold on.
32:53What?
32:54It worked.
32:54She tested positive.
32:56I ran it three times.
32:57Your patient has COVID-19.
33:09Shonda's stable.
33:10She's breathing well and her vitals are solid.
33:12And Dr. Franco figured out the issue with the substrate, yielded three independent positive
33:19tests.
33:19Shonda's quarantined in the negative pressure room for at least a week, but she's turned
33:24a corner.
33:25And we're squared with Dr. Kamara?
33:27I'm suddenly getting all the supplies we need.
33:30So I miss all the good stuff?
33:32Happens like that sometimes.
33:34But you were there for the important part.
33:36You did the work.
33:40Did we actually figure out something about this thing?
33:42Yeah.
33:42Unfortunately, I think we're going to have a long time to confirm that.
33:45New York had one reported case yesterday, and today they have 82.
33:49Wow.
33:49CDC is saying they think it might be airborne.
33:52So it's going to be everywhere.
33:57So I talked to Dr. Liebling at Hopkins.
34:01Oh, um...
34:08Letter recommendation.
34:12Wait, you wrote this last week.
34:17I updated it a bit this morning.
34:20Look, if you're going to go, I would go now.
34:23The storm is coming.
34:24Well, listen, whatever happens, I'm grateful.
34:28You taught me a lot.
34:32Round start in ten minutes.
34:34Be ready to educate people on what we found.
34:37Come on.
34:44How do you go?
34:52Did you breathe?
34:56No longer love.
35:00Deadline.
35:01The morning will come, tomorrow will break
35:14So before you replace me, I'm
35:19Now with me won't last, I'm just like a dream
35:25Won't last, I'm just like a dream
35:42Even though he only met you that one time, he really loved you
35:45Well, if he's anything like his son, I'm sure I loved him
35:51Jake?
35:56I think we need a reckoning
36:00Michael
36:01Can I come in?
36:02Yeah, of course
36:04Well, whoever hacked you used the VPN and rerouted it, so it's not traceable, at least not yet
36:12You realize that those mistakes I supposedly made were the hacker trying to make me look bad
36:18We'll get into that tomorrow with Joan
36:21I'll make sure you get all your privileges back
36:23Great, thank you
36:26Oh God, what a mess
36:31Shouldn't you be at home, trying to fix things with Nora?
36:34She needed to cool off
36:36Michael, what are you doing here?
36:43Did you listen to the audio?
36:48Yes, I did
36:51What Gina said about my wedding?
36:56She wasn't wrong
36:59Michael
37:00Nora called the house a mausoleum
37:03Well, that's an awful thing to say
37:05Well, maybe it is
37:07I mean, what is that house without you and Danny in it?
37:11Michael, that's not fair
37:14What am I supposed to do with that?
37:17I'm sorry
37:19You're right
37:22I don't know what I'm doing
37:24I guess I'm lost
37:37Your wife and son are waiting for you at home
37:41You need to find yourself with them
37:54So you were having an affair with her?
37:59Are you out of your mind?
38:00That happened after we separated
38:02Oh, really?
38:03Yeah
38:04Because all I know is four years ago
38:05we were about to move to Maryland
38:07and then suddenly you came home and said we're staying
38:10It was COVID, you know what happened
38:11Yeah
38:12You had a change of heart about her
38:15You're really gonna do this?
38:16Today?
38:17Well, today is when I found out
38:19For some reason you decided not to tell me about her
38:21all this time
38:46Yeah, Sarah was right
38:47He would have hated that we did it here
38:49What?
38:52Look at her
38:54She's here for you
38:55You know she came at me about Amy
38:56right after you told her
38:57Thank you very much
38:58I didn't have to tell her
38:59She figured it out
39:01All days, today, she came at me
39:03She was jealous
39:04Right
39:05Oh, come on
39:06How long are you gonna keep punishing her, Jake?
39:07I'm not punishing her
39:08She made her own bed
39:09You know
39:12Most people aren't as moral as you
39:14and that's gonna leave you alone in this life
39:16You will make mistakes
39:19And if you really love someone
39:21You're just punishing yourself
39:23All Dad ever wanted was for you to be happy
39:27So, end of day
39:30Whatever that is
39:31When you find it
39:33You better hold on to it
39:34You better hold on to it
39:35You better hold on to it
39:36Nora?
39:49No
39:53I don't know.
40:23Charlie!
40:39Dr. Hanson just opened the email.
40:40He'll be kicking Amy Larson to the curb right about now.
40:43What is wrong with you?
40:44It was his father's funeral.
40:45So? I mean, our father had a funeral and barely any of them showed up.
40:48That's how it works.
40:49Okay, this is out of control.
40:50Nope, it's in control.
40:51Our control.
40:53I'm still trying to get my head around that kiss in the elevator.
40:59How so?
41:01Well, it was pretty hot.
41:03Especially for someone who doesn't love me anymore.
41:07Whoever said that?
41:07He did, basically.
41:09No, he said he moved forward because you disappeared.
41:13So what?
41:14He doesn't really love Nora?
41:15Someone is trying to destroy you.
41:39Yeah.
41:41Who told you?
41:44I got an audio recording from your email.
41:47Oh, me and Gina talking?
41:49I mean, that was taken totally out of context.
41:52I don't care.
41:52I don't care.
41:55Look.
41:56A part of you is always going to love Michael.
42:01Just like a part of me is always going to love Rachel.
42:03We share children and a past and there's just a lot of complicated crap that's hard to untangle.
42:08But all I care about in this moment is, do you want to be with me?
42:13What about Joan?
42:18Our jobs?
42:20We both in life doesn't promise us anything.
42:22Okay, so I don't want to wait.
42:29Not another day.
42:34Not another minute.
42:36Not another second.
42:38Hi, my name is Amy Larson.
42:50I'm the bitch that killed Hannah and Charlie's father.
42:54I'm the bitch that killed Hannah and Charlie's father.
42:57And if you thought today was fun, that was only the beginning.
43:02And if you thought today was fun, that was only the beginning.
43:08Code blue.
43:12You ready?
43:12This January.
43:13Whoever hacked Amy is coming for everyone in the hospital.
43:17Doc returns with explosive all new episodes.
43:21Danny was always my favorite.
43:22Is this a deep fake?
43:24The eye is here.
43:26They are launching an internal investigation.
43:28The hunt is on.
43:29And I'm a witch.
43:31My job.
43:34I want it back.
43:35Doc returns this January on.
