Hello, I’m Clive Gilson, The Story Guy, and this is Tales From The World’s Firesides.

Today we’re heading into the French Creole world of the Caribbean, where stories travelled on warm night air, across sugar fields, and from porch to porch, shaped by African roots, island life, and a whole lot of sharp humour.

Our tale is called “Why the Animals No Longer Fear the Sheep.” It’s a little longer than my usual ones, but stick with it, it’s worth the ride.

And I love stories like this, because they remind you how close wonder always is. Wherever people gather and talk, you get the same ingredients turning up again and again, courage and foolishness, trickery, bad decisions, hard laughs, and that strange thin line where the everyday tips into the magical.

If you want more tales like this, I’ve got full collections from all over the place, in print and digital formats, and you can find them on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/4kVf92t.

And if you’d like to know more about me and what I’m up to, you’re always welcome at clivegilson.com.

If you enjoy the story, give it a follow, drop a comment, and pass it on to someone who’d like it too. That’s how these tales stay alive.

Thanks for joining me by the fire. I’m Clive Gilson, The Story Guy, and until next time, stay safe, stay curious, and keep the stories burning brightly.
