00:00The goal for our season never, ever, ever changes and never buries, ever.
00:04And I got this from Jay Wright, who I think is one of the great college basketball coaches
00:07in the history of the game.
00:08He's a Hall of Famer.
00:09He's won multiple national championships, class personified.
00:13And I've met him a couple times.
00:14I wouldn't say I know him well, but I've read some of his books and listened to all his
00:18podcasts.
00:18And he said this after the national championship, after they won their second national championship.
00:23And they said, Coach, what's your goal?
00:24What's a successful season for you?
00:26Is it to win a national championship again?
00:28And he said this, and I will take this to every team I coach and every organization
00:33I lead for the rest of my life.
00:34He said, our goal is to have the number one culture in the country.
00:38If we have the number one culture in the country, the results will take care of themselves.
00:43Championships will happen.
00:44That's hard to do.
00:44First of all, there's no scoreboard that says whose culture is number one, whose culture
00:48is number two.
00:48To have the number one culture in country, you have to be unified.
00:52You have to be locked in.
00:53You have to have people that are committed to the cause, are committed to their role,
00:57people that bring it every single day.
00:59You have to be in that 1% is what I tell our guys.
01:02There's 370 teams in the country.
01:041% of that 370 is four.
01:07Four teams.
01:08Now, does that mean you're going to get to the final four every year?
01:10No, but like, man, you can't have dips.
01:13You can't have BCD, which is to blame, complain, defend.
01:16You got to be at your best and hunt excellence every single day.
01:20And that's the goal.
01:20You got to be at your best and hunt excellence every single day, and that's the goal.
01:20You got to be at your best and hunt excellence every single day, and that's the goal.
