00:13little guy fish of the year but why well the whole thing was to raise awareness for the oceanic and

00:18freshwater wildlife around the island nation the blobfish lives off the coast of Australia and can

00:23be found at depths of up to 4,000 feet and while it's massively ugly it's not that large as blob

00:28fish only grow to around 12 inches long and while it was only just given a crown its diet has always

00:34been rich blobfish subside on crab lobster sea urchins and mollusks the fish with the face only

00:39a mother could love beat out nine other competitors by raking in 1,300 of the more than 5,500 votes

00:46still like nearly all of the other species on the list they're vulnerable specifically affected by

00:51deep-sea trawling it's also worth mentioning that the blobfish is already the mascot for the ugly
