00:00Hello, how are you doing?
00:11I'm fine. I'm good too. How are you?
00:15Good, thank you. Where are you from?
00:17Germany.
00:18Guten Tag.
00:19Guten Tag.
00:20Why did you decide to come to Bali?
00:22The beach is very beautiful and the weather is good.
00:27It's just kind of like an after graduation traveling thing.
00:32We start uni in October, so it's just a little trip before uni starts.
00:36What will you study?
00:38Business. I'm going to study law.
00:40Wow, you're very smart.
00:43What's your impression of Bali?
00:45I was kind of scared before because there was a time, especially in Germany,
00:49where many influencers were saying like, oh, Bali is so overrated,
00:52there's a lot of trash everywhere, a lot of stray dogs and everything.
00:56But I think so far, like I didn't get the same impression.
01:00I like it a lot. I think many places are very clean.
01:03I'm happy to be here.
01:04Yeah.
01:05Good and I've said it better. It's really nice to be here.
01:08What are your plans in Bali?
01:10Yeah, we were planning to do a surf course tomorrow.
01:13But other than that, we are trying to get a tan.
01:17And just like chilling, kind of socializing, stuff like that.
01:21You want to be tan?
01:22Yeah, it would be nice. We try to.
01:26Yeah, but you were in a shade.
01:28She always gets sunburned so easily.
01:31Yeah, really.
01:32Very strong actually.
01:33Yeah.
01:34What's your best memory in Bali so far?
01:36I think for me it's just the mix.
01:38Like, I don't know, nature, but then also partying of course.
01:42Just chilling, staying at the beach.
01:44I think all of that combined made like a whole month of great memories.
01:49Yeah.
01:50Also, like the people you meet, I think they're very open here.
01:53Thank you for your time.
01:54Thanks.
01:55Thank you so much.
01:57Gerne.
01:58Hello, how are you doing?
01:59We're good, how are you?
02:00Good, thank you.
02:01Yeah, good, thank you.
02:02You are really friendly and very kind.
02:05Yeah, I appreciate you.
02:06Where are you from?
02:07I'm from Glasgow in Scotland.
02:09I'm also from Glasgow, but I live in England now.
02:12I live in London.
02:13What brought you to Bali?
02:14Well, we've heard lots of good things about it from friends.
02:16Quite a lot of our friends have been going.
02:18We really like a mixture of like nightlife, culture, good food.
02:24And also it's the time of year to come at the minute.
02:28And yeah, it just seemed like a good natural decision.
02:32And we heard that people are really kind as well actually, yeah.
02:35You like partying.
02:36Yeah.
02:37We like a good balance.
02:39Yeah.
02:40Good balance is important.
02:41Yeah, exactly.
02:42You like drinking?
02:44We can handle a drink.
02:45We can handle a drink.
02:46Yeah, definitely.
02:47A few.
02:48A few drinks, but nothing too crazy, yeah.
02:51Are you travelling to other countries as well?
02:53Or only Indonesia?
02:54Not this time, no.
02:56Only Indonesia, but we are going to the Gili Islands and we're going to Nesa Penida.
03:02We were going to do Lombok, but not anymore.
03:05Yeah, but we're definitely keen to maybe come back to Southeast Asia and do the other countries and maybe Vietnam, Thailand another time.
03:11So.
03:12What do you do for a living?
03:13Well, I just finished university a couple of months ago.
03:15I studied psychology with French.
03:17So I'm hopefully going to go on and do further study in psychology, hopefully.
03:21Yeah.
03:22I have one more year of university left, but I study art history and yeah, I love art.
03:29So, yeah.
03:30Have you faced any culture shock in Bali?
03:33Well, today is our first day, but last night we were a little bit nervous getting, just getting into a car with a random man who just offered to get in at 2am.
03:47But that's just the kind of the nature here, I think, but also as a, not as a cultural shock, but like you said, everyone is so friendly here.
03:57Yeah.
03:58Much more than in London.
03:59Yeah.
04:00Like you have to be quite cautious in London, I think.
04:02Yeah.
04:03So like, yeah.
04:04But everyone wants to help.
04:05So yeah.
04:06Yeah.
04:07A positive one for that.
04:08Yeah.
04:09And it's cheap.
04:10It's cheap.
04:11I know.
04:12Yeah.
04:13And the food is very good so far as well.
04:14We had a lovely breakfast.
04:15So that was really nice.
04:16And cheap.
04:18In the UK, it's very expensive.
04:20Yeah.
04:21It's gone up in the past few years as well.
04:23Yeah.
04:24And London is like.
04:25London's even worse.
04:26London's the worst.
04:27London is the worst.
04:28My coffee and croissant the other day was £6.
04:32And my whole big meal with a coffee croissant, like kind of five meals, was the same here this morning.
04:39So humbling is the worst.
04:41Yeah.
04:42It's humbling.
04:43We got so much food this morning.
04:44Yeah.
04:45A little bit of money.
04:46It was delicious.
04:47Copenhagen.
04:48Yeah.
04:49It's called Copenhagen.
04:50Recommend.
04:51We've only been eating at one place so far, but we need to recommend it.
04:53We recommend it.
04:54Yeah.
04:55What are your future goals?
04:56Yeah.
04:57I really love to get a job I'm passionate about in psychology.
05:00I'm really passionate about working with children in psychology.
05:03So hopefully helping children with learning difficulties and mental health issues.
05:08So that's one of my big passions.
05:09And I'd also like to travel more of the world as well.
05:12Those are probably the two main ones.
05:15I don't have as much of a focused career goal as my friends.
05:19Some are just because I'm still balancing a lot of different things.
05:22But I want to be able to create just a life that I'm like, that I just really love living
05:28every day.
05:29And yeah, and just really cringe, but just being very content and joyful.
05:35So yeah.
05:36Thank you for your time.
05:37Thank you very much.
05:41Hello.
05:42How are you doing?
05:43Hi.
05:44Very good.
05:45Where are you from?
05:46We are from Rome.
05:47Italy.
05:48Yeah.
05:49Italian.
05:50You look very happy.
05:51Yes.
05:52Here in Bali, you cannot be sad.
05:54How long did you stay in Bali?
05:56We arrived like one week ago and we will stay another week.
06:01Action.
06:02Do you enjoy Bali?
06:03Yes.
06:04Yes.
06:05It's a very good waves for surfing, nice food and very nice people.
06:10What do you do for a living?
06:11I'm a doctor.
06:12A doctor?
06:13Yeah.
06:14Wow.
06:15Very intelligent.
06:16I'm a chemical engineer.
06:18A chemical engineer?
06:19Yeah.
06:20I produce medicines.
06:21Oh.
06:22I'm a consultant.
06:23Consultant.
06:24Like a doctor for companies.
06:26Why did you decide to come to Bali?
06:29We came to visit her because we are sisters and she is our cousin.
06:34And we came to meet her because she lives in Vietnam.
06:38She has already been here and she suggested us this place because she really enjoyed it.
06:44So we wanted to come.
06:46What's your best memory in Bali?
06:49The underwater.
06:50Yeah, the diving.
06:52Diving.
06:53Yeah.
06:54Diving was very fun.
06:55Yeah, maybe the best memory, yeah.
06:56For me diving as well because it was the first time and also this morning we went surfing
07:02here and it was very nice.
07:04Yeah.
07:05And these are the two best memories.
07:07Sunset in Timbopin.
07:09Amazing club in Uluato.
07:11Very much recommended.
07:13Oh, Uluato.
07:14Yeah, yeah, yeah.
07:15What are your future goals?
07:16Be happy, be a travel and to never stop exploring the world.
07:21Yeah.
07:22And health.
07:23Thank you for your time.
07:26You're welcome.
07:27Bye.
07:28Ciao.
07:29Bye.
07:30Ciao.
07:31Hello, how are you doing?
07:32Good, how are you?
07:33Yeah, good.
07:35Yeah, you are really kind.
07:36Oh, that's so sweet.
07:37Where are you from?
07:38I'm from the US.
07:39You are living here?
07:40Yeah, I've been here for a year and a few months now in Bali.
07:44Yeah, you are Balinese only.
07:46I wish, they're the sweetest.
07:48Why did you decide to come to Bali?
07:50My best friend wanted to move here and I was actually working remotely in Thailand at the time.
07:57And so I was like, yeah, I'd love to.
07:59So we moved here together, except she ended up going home after a little bit because of her job.
08:05And then I stayed.
08:07What do you do for a living?
08:09I've been in social media management for a few years, the past like three or four years.
08:15And then I started recently switching into more of like a OBM style and helping people automate their businesses.
08:24Wow, you're a business person.
08:27You must be rich.
08:28Very rich.
08:30That's sweet.
08:31And you have a dog.
08:32Yeah, this is Honey.
08:33She's actually my roommate's dog, but I'm helping take care of her right now.
08:38Obsessed with her.
08:40You have like an elegant lifestyle.
08:43Very elegant.
08:44I like it.
08:45Oh, that's so sweet.
08:46What's your favorite place in Bali?
08:48My favorite place.
08:50Oh, that's so hard.
08:51I feel like there's so many places I've loved.
08:54One of my favorite experiences was going to Lavina.
08:57Lavina is like where a lot of people go diving and they have just such a beautiful area to go snorkeling and all that.
09:05But also, I feel like it's a little bit more of like a local experience.
09:09So you get to talk to more people, I feel like.
09:12And I think you have a lot of friends because you're very friendly, so.
09:16Well, I just love people.
09:18I love talking to people.
09:19I love getting to know people.
09:20So yeah, I'm always very open.
09:22Yeah, and I feel like there's so many people who come here and they have such different perspectives on life.
09:28And I just really appreciate that.
09:30It's like very interesting to talk to people.
09:32And there are so many Western travelers and expats here.
09:35Yeah, so many.
09:36And also so many just like people who come even from Jakarta and who come from all over the world as well.
09:44So I'm definitely a mix of everything.
09:46What advice would you give to other Western people in Bali?
09:50Oh my gosh, be kind.
09:52I think there's a very different style of living here and compared to a lot of different Western countries.
10:00And I think just find opportunities to like give back and really learn about the culture here because it's changed my mindset.
10:08It's changed how I see people, how I see the world.
10:11And yeah, I just think that Balinese people have such a good outlook on life and to ask them about it.
10:17They look very happy actually.
10:19Yes, very joyful.
10:21Like they always have the energy that I think lights up a room.
10:24What are your future goals?
10:26I'm really obsessed with human potential.
10:28So I really want to help people whether that's with their mindset or with systems, which is why I got into like basically automating people's businesses and helping them out because there's so many people who are so talented and just have like mindset blocks or don't have the systems in place.
10:46So I just want to really help people and create a lifestyle that they can really obtain in the sense that they could really just achieve their highest self and dreams.
10:58Wow, amazing.
10:59Yeah, I just really love seeing people live their best life.
11:06I think that's what really inspires me.
11:08You love helping people.
11:09Yes, I think it's more of the sense that people are already so talented as is.
11:15But they just don't see how their potential is within themselves.
11:21Thank you for your time.
11:23I really appreciate it.
11:24I really appreciate you.
11:26Yeah.
11:27Hi, how are you doing?
11:28I'm good.
11:29How are you?
11:30Good, thank you.
11:31You're really kind.
11:34Where are you from?
11:35Born in Russia, raised in the US, and now I live in Mexico.
11:39Wow, very international.
11:40I am.
11:41Yeah.
11:42How many languages do you speak?
11:43Three, English, Russian, and Spanish.
11:46Spanish is not fluent yet.
11:48You're from Australia, right?
11:49Yes.
11:50Okay.
11:51What's your favorite place in Bali?
11:53I think I enjoyed Uluwatu the most, but every place has its own magic.
11:59What's your best memory in Bali?
12:01So many, every single day is just the pure magic.
12:06But I really enjoyed my rides on the scooters with the Gojek drivers.
12:10Yeah.
12:11That's a highlight.
12:12Yeah, you are brave.
12:13Yes.
12:14You are traveling with your friends.
12:15Well, yes.
12:16You are very gorgeous.
12:17Me again.
12:18Me again.
12:19What are your future goals?
12:20To be a better, best version of myself, and to be a happy wife.
12:33I think to just live in love, be in love with life, fall in love with everything, and be
12:42fit, be healthy, have good connections with people, travel of course, see the world.
12:48I've traveled a lot, but travel more.
12:50Yeah, and be the most myself I can be.
12:55I think that should be everyone's goal, I think.
12:57Exactly.
12:58Yeah.
12:59Thank you for that.
13:00Thank you so much.
13:01Have a nice trip.
13:03Hi, how are you doing?
13:04I'm good, thank you.
13:05How are you?
13:06Good, thank you.
13:07Where are you from?
13:08I come from the United States, from Montana, but I live in Italy for 10 years.
13:13I've lived in Europe since I was 16.
13:16Yeah, so 18 years.
13:18Yeah, and I've lived in Italy for 10 years now.
13:21What do you do for a living?
13:22I'm a professional ballerina.
13:24Yeah, so that's why I live in Italy.
13:26I dance in Rome in the Teatro dell'Opera, and that's actually why I moved to Europe
13:31when I was young, because I went to go to ballet school in Germany.
13:35Yeah, and I've danced in theaters in Germany, and in Spain, and now in Italy.
13:40Wow, yeah, you look very healthy, and you stay fit.
13:43Yeah, it's part of the job, I guess.
13:46Have you been to Bali many times so far?
13:48Yeah, I've been here quite a few times, I would say, yeah.
13:51Now, my sister lives here, so this time I can come and visit her, which is really nice.
13:56I really love it here, I think it's a very special place.
13:59It's a very magical island, I think.
14:01A lot of magic, a very pure kind of an energy.
14:04You kind of never know what you're gonna get, I think, when you come here.
14:07But whatever it is that you do get, I think is always what you need.
14:11Do you surf?
14:12I don't surf, but I do a lot of yoga.
14:14I'm also a yoga teacher, actually.
14:15So, yeah.
14:16You do many things.
14:17I do, but I want to learn how to surf.
14:20I mean, I guess maybe being a dancer and stuff, hopefully I have good balance, but you never know.
14:26Yeah, I should try it.
14:28It's part of my being or my job as well, you know, I have to be.
14:33But yeah, the yoga, I really love it, which obviously is not just a physical practice.
14:38It's a full rounded life practice, let's say.
14:41But I think it's really special.
14:44Of course, I was attracted to it in the beginning because of the physical aspect.
14:48Being a dancer, it was what attracted to me.
14:51But then, of course, the deeper you go, the more you realize how many different aspects of your life.
14:56It can change your mentality and also have asthma.
14:59And I noticed that it really helped to cure my asthma, lots of the pranayama and the breathing and stuff.
15:04Do you take care of your diet?
15:06I used to be vegan, but that was more for...
15:09I had a family member that had cancer.
15:12He was very sick.
15:13Yeah, so I kind of started following a bit the diet he was following, let's say, which was like a vegan raw food diet.
15:19Now I'm a vegetarian.
15:21But I think, like in anything in life, it's just important to be balanced.
15:26And as far as food goes, to eat lots of like whole foods, that kind of stuff.
15:29But yeah, I try not to get too crazy about it, you know.
15:33Just eat healthy, yeah.
15:36Thank you for your time.
15:37Thank you, thank you so much.
15:38It was lovely to meet you.
15:40Hello, how are you doing?
15:42Hi, we're doing fine.
15:43Yes, we're fine.
15:44Yeah, good.
15:45Where are you from?
15:46Germany, Bavaria.
15:47How long is a stay in Bali?
15:49Three weeks.
15:50Tomorrow we go to Ubud and then we go to Lombok and travel a lot.
15:54Yeah.
15:55Do you enjoy Bali?
15:56Yes.
15:57I think...
15:58Beautiful.
15:59Yeah, the people are very nice and it's very cool.
16:02Yeah.
16:03The nature is beautiful.
16:04Yes.
16:05Why did you decide to come to Bali?
16:06I think it's just like a completely different experience.
16:10Like the nature and the people and the culture.
16:13It's very nice and beautiful beaches, of course.
16:17Yeah, we tried surfing.
16:18Yeah, nice lifestyle and yeah, just something different.
16:23What do you do for a living?
16:24I will study.
16:25Yeah.
16:26Yeah, I'm going to be a teacher.
16:28Oh, wow.
16:29For example, yeah.
16:30You love kids.
16:31Yeah, I love kids, yeah.
16:32So you are a college student.
16:33Yes.
16:34Yes.
16:35Yeah.
16:36We go to university in Germany.
16:37Yeah.
16:38Yeah, you look very smart.
16:40Yeah.
16:41We hope so.
16:42Yeah.
16:43What's your favorite place in Bali so far?
16:46I think the beaches in Uluwatu were very nice.
16:50And here I think you can go shopping.
16:53Yeah, and partying more.
16:54It's different.
16:55Like you can't really compare it.
16:58Everything's nice.
17:00And we are excited for the islands also.
17:02Yeah.
17:03Ili Island, yeah.
17:04And Lombok, we also go there.
17:06Maybe we see some turtles.
17:07Yeah.
17:08That would be nice.
17:09What are your future goals?
17:11First, finish my studies.
17:13And I want to travel a lot.
17:16Yeah, just become successful.
17:18I hope that my family and everyone's doing well.
17:22A few goals I will keep a secret, so yeah.
17:25I think I want to be happy and be grateful for everything I have.
17:31Yeah, of course.
17:32Finish my studies and maybe found a family or something.
17:36Yeah, that would be nice.
17:37Yeah.
17:38Yeah.
17:39And just experience nice things.
17:40Yeah.
17:41And just have a positive mindset.
17:43That would be very important.
17:44Yes.
17:45That's very, very important.
17:46Very important.
17:47Yeah, actually, you look very positive.
17:49Yeah, we try.
17:50I try too.
17:51Yeah, we try too.
17:52Thank you for your time.
17:57Hello, how are you doing?
17:58I'm very well, thank you.
17:59How are you?
18:00Yeah, good, thank you.
18:01Where are you from?
18:02I'm from Moldova.
18:03Oh, yeah.
18:04Yeah.
18:05Beautiful country.
18:06Have you been?
18:07Not yet.
18:08I hope so.
18:09It's a beautiful country indeed, yeah.
18:11How long is your stay in Bali?
18:13I live in Bali for a year and a half now.
18:15Oh, wow.
18:16Yeah.
18:17Yeah.
18:18You are almost Balinese.
18:19Yeah, I can consider myself.
18:21Yeah.
18:22Why did you decide to come to Bali?
18:24I actually believe like everyone came here for two weeks holiday and I didn't return back
18:29to the country I used to live, which was the UK.
18:32What do you do for a living?
18:33I invest in real estate.
18:34Wow.
18:35Yeah, you must be rich.
18:38Like you.
18:41Yeah.
18:42There are so many Western people in Bali.
18:44Yeah.
18:45Yeah, that's true.
18:46So I guess many guys approach you.
18:48I'm blushing.
18:51Do you have any dating advice for guys?
18:54I would probably give an advice that is for both for ladies and boys.
18:58Don't get attached.
18:59I think when people get attached, that's when they become needy and this is when things
19:04that don't work out.
19:05So love your men, love your women with all you have, but be attached always to yourself.
19:12Do you have a type?
19:13Oh, well, I have the tattoos and I love to see tattoos in a man.
19:21Probably I will go with my type as a personality to be ambitious, very funny because life sometimes
19:27can be tough.
19:28So if you go home to a person that is super serious.
19:32So it's be funny and loving life.
19:35I think loving life is a good one.
19:37Do you like muscular guys?
19:39I mean, I love a man when he takes care of his body.
19:47How did you learn English?
19:49I left my country Moldova since I was 20 years old and I moved to Qatar.
19:54So I lived in Qatar.
19:56I lived in Dubai.
19:57I live in London and now I live in the island of Bali.
20:00And I guess this is how I got my, you know, to improve my English.
20:04And I'm always, and I think that's a good advice for the people who are watching.
20:07If you're trying to learn English in the best way possible is to always practice and to speak
20:13with native English speakers because that's how you're going to get a great accent.
20:17And just don't be shy, you know, like we were human beings, so it's okay to do some mistakes.
20:21How many languages do you speak?
20:23So I do speak English, Russian, Romanian.
20:27I can say even Moldovan because it's a slang.
20:30But yeah, I also can understand Spanish and Italian.
20:34Wow.
20:35So a few of them, yeah.
20:36Thank you for your time.
20:37You're welcome.
20:38And thank you for interviewing me.
20:39I had such pleasure.
20:40It was fun.
20:41Have a nice day.
20:42You too.
20:47Yeah.
20:48Yeah.
20:49Yeah.
20:50Yeah.
20:51Yeah.
20:52All right.
20:53See you.
20:54Nice.
20:55Yeah.
20:56Oh, we're all right.
20:57You got me.
20:58You are crazy.
20:59Yeah.
21:00You liked us.
21:01And praise the Lord.
21:04Yeah.
21:05We're hungry.
21:06Thanks again.
21:08You're crazy.
