00:00Hello, how are you doing? Hi, fine. Hola. Hola. Que tal? Que tal? Como va? Where are you from?
00:25I'm from Argentina. I'm drinking mate from Argentina. How long is your stay in Thailand? I went seven days for Bangkok to work and now I came five days here at Krabi. I'm a little bit nervous. You are reading a book. Yes, I'm reading a book from Sally Rooney. It's a bestseller, No More People. And this is Conversaciones Entre Amigos. Friends Conversations. Really interesting. Why did you decide to come to Thailand?
00:55For work. It was not a decision truly mine. I came for work at Bangkok and it's my second time here in Thailand. And this time I decided like, okay, I'm going to work. And after that, I'm going to take a little bit days for vacations.
01:12And I chose Krabi because I read and I did my research and they said like, here was not really a touristic place. And the beaches were the best ones. So that's why I came here.
01:26I'm an actress and I also work as a model. And I came here to do a Nivea campaign. You know, Nivea, the cream. So I'm like their Latam face. Latam. Come on, Latino America.
01:41Where is your favorite place in Thailand?
01:44Two days ago, I went to Phi Phi Island and I really liked them. I really liked Mei Bay. I think it's incredible. An amazing place.
01:54I haven't been all around the country, like to say, which is my favorite one. But from what I've seen, Phi Phi Islands, I say, also Similian Islands were really good.
02:06I went yesterday there, but small. I don't know. But yes, let's say Mei Bay.
02:10So you went to many places.
02:12Yeah, I went to many places. I'm really curious and I'm really fan of doing tours and meeting new places, new beaches, new people, cultures. So yes, I like using my time in the best way I can.
02:27What do you like the most about Argentina?
02:31I think Argentina is the best place. It's the best country in the world. I like our culture. We are really friendly. I love our food.
02:40I love our places. We have, like, everything. We have mountain beach, rocks, desert. But I think most of all the people, my people, my friends, people I love, I think it's a perfect combination.
02:53Buenos Aires is one of the prettiest cities in the world. And I've been to many cities, to many places. Being truly objective, I think it's a great country. You should all go to Argentina.
03:06Thank you for your time.
03:07Thank you. Kopunka!

10:37Thank you for your time.
10:38Thank you so much.

10:40You too.
10:40See ya.
10:41Where are you from?
10:42I'm from Finland.
10:44I'm originally Ukrainian, but I live in Finland.

11:04I love that it's very friendly.
11:06Everywhere.
11:07Everybody just want to help with everything.
11:10Why did you decide to come to Thailand?
11:12I'm actually on a work trip here.
11:14I'm a personal assistant.
11:16I'm helping a disabled person, and there's also another assistant with me, so we're both
11:21working here with him.
11:22You enjoy your job?
11:24Yeah, I love my job.
11:25It's very nice, and the person that I'm helping is also very nice.
11:28Right now, I finish studying upper secondary school, and I've been working as a personal
11:33assistant for nearly a year now.
11:36And I just help the person with daily tasks that a normal person would do.
11:42Go to the toilet, eat, go to the bed, and then shopping, etc.
11:49How long does it take to come here?
11:51Well, it depends.
11:52Obviously, if you can take a direct plane, it's like 13, 14 hours.
11:56But we cheaped out a little bit, so we had three transfers.
12:00So we've been traveling for like two straight days.
12:02So it was a little longer with all the transfers.
12:05It was from Amsterdam, a couple hours.
12:07Then we went to Singapore, 12 hours.
12:09And then also transfer time, four hours.
12:11Yeah.
12:12It's crazy.
12:13What do you like the most about Finland?
12:14I'd say how safe it is there for now.
12:20And honestly, traffic.
12:23The traffic in Thailand, it's crazy.
12:25I stood for 10 minutes thinking, how could I cross the road?
12:29So yeah, it's much more calmer there.
12:32And, oh, free healthcare.
12:34Definitely.
12:35That I enjoy a lot.
12:37How did you learn English?
12:39Honestly, because I moved from Ukraine to Finland.
12:42I was seven years old then, and my mom was raising me alone.
12:47So she had to learn English.
12:48And when she was working in Finland, she spoke English most of the time,
12:52before she learned Finnish.
12:53And she also had foreigner friends, meaning she talked with them English.
12:58So when I was little, I just picked it up from my mom.
13:00And then it went on and on with the social media and series and movies.
13:06Something like that.
13:08Thanks.
13:09Thank you for your time.
13:10Oh, thank you so much.
13:11Have a nice trip.
13:12You too.

14:25Have you faced any culture shock in Thailand?
14:27Actually, yes.
14:28I didn't think there would be this many people, honestly.
14:31In Thailand, there's a lot, a lot of people.
14:34And from everywhere.
14:35I thought it would be less touristic.
14:39And, yeah, the food also, the prices, just being so far away from home.
14:44It's 24 hours for me from home on the plane.
14:49So, it's very far.
14:51But I love the cultural shock.
14:53I actually love it.
14:54But it is a cultural shock, for sure, for sure.
14:56It's so far away.
14:5824 hours?
14:5824 hours by plane.
15:00So, I flew from Canada, Montreal, to Dubai, and then Dubai to Bangkok.

15:29And be kind.
15:30Just don't be on social media too much.
15:33So, don't always be on your phone.
15:35Be in the present moment.
15:37And, yeah, give a lot of love.
15:40A lot of attention to your person.
15:42That would be my best dating advice.
15:44Bring your lover out.
15:46Go have lunch with them.

25:45Why did you decide to come to Thailand?
25:47I think we have never been to Asia before.
25:49So it's kind of like new parts of the world for us.
25:52And new experience for us.
25:54Yes.
25:55New culture to explore.
25:56How's your impression of Thailand?
25:57We like it.
25:58Sometimes it's relaxing.
25:59Sometimes it's challenging.
26:01Especially cuisine.
26:02It was kind of difficult for us to get used to this cuisine.
26:05But now it's okay.
26:06How did you learn English?
26:07Actually, we live in England right now because of the war in our country.

26:53Hi.
26:54How are you doing?
26:55I'm fine.
26:57Where are you from?
26:58I'm from Poland.
26:59Cześć.
27:00Cześć.
27:01Dzień dobry, actually.
27:02How long is the trip in Thailand?
27:04Three weeks.
27:05Then we go to Singapore for four days.
27:09And then we go back to Poland.
27:11I'm traveling with my husband, actually.
27:15And he went for water.
27:18And I'm here alone on the beach right now.
27:21And we were at Phi Phi Island.
27:25Probably right now.
27:26Phuket.
27:27Holanda.
27:28With most likely Phi Phi, I think.
27:30Oh, Phi Phi Island.
27:31Yes.
27:32Yes.
27:33There was everything and the weather was perfect.
27:36Why did you decide to come to Thailand?
27:38It's our honeymoon, actually.
27:40So we get married in September.
27:45So right now it's our honeymoon.
27:48Oh, great.
27:49Congratulations.
27:50Thank you very much.
27:51How's your impression of Thailand?
27:53People are really kind.
27:55The weather...
27:57Right now it's not the most likely.
28:01But the weather is perfect.
28:03Every night is hot.
28:05So it's like, for me, the perfect weather.
28:08Because in Poland we don't have rainy days.
28:12A lot of.
28:13And cold.
28:14And the view.
28:15And the food.
28:16What do you like the most about Poland?
28:18For now, politicians, it's like, most safely for me.
28:24Thailand is safely too.
28:27But Poland is like, really good for this.
28:30And maybe the food.
28:33Because it's really nice in Thailand.
28:37And when we go on vacation anywhere, food is perfect.
28:41But our food really is the best, spicy.
28:46And for me it's the most...
28:48Yes.
28:49Food and being safe.
28:51This is the most important for me right now.
28:54And the best for Poland.
28:56From Poland.
28:57Thank you for your time.
28:58Thank you very much.
28:59Thank you very much.
29:01Thank you very much.
29:02Hello.
29:03How are you doing?
29:04Good.
29:05Very good.
29:06You are very friendly.
29:07Thank you so much.
29:08You're very friendly as well.
29:10It's nice.
29:11Where are you from?
29:12I'm from the Netherlands.
29:13Why did you decide to come to Thailand?
29:15To escape the bad weather from the Netherlands.
29:18And it's always sunny here.
29:20It's cheap to travel here.
29:22Everything in Europe is a bit more expensive.
29:24And just the views.
29:26Look at where we are right now.
29:27It's very nice always.
29:29Nice people.
29:30Nice food as well.
29:32Really enjoy the Thai cuisine.
29:33Do you like Thai food?
29:34Yes.
29:35I love Thai food.
29:36I also have a lot of Thai food in the Netherlands.
29:39But here it's so much better.
29:40Have you faced any culture shock in Thailand?
29:43They are very polite.
29:44Like they always bow their head as well.
29:46And in the Netherlands you would maybe...
29:49When you say hi to someone you would more like do like this.
29:52And here they all go down for you.
29:54And they like bend their head as well.
29:56And it's like very respectful to do.
29:58But I'm not used to that.
29:59So that was maybe a bit weird.
30:01Like seeing everybody like bow their head.
30:04But for the rest I...
30:06Yeah, not a big shock.
30:08Just...
30:09It was what I expected.
30:10Very different.
30:11But what I expected to be different.
30:14Thank you for your time.
30:15Of course.
30:16Thank you well.
30:17Thank you well.
30:18Hello, how are you doing?
30:19I'm good.
30:20How are you?
30:21Good, thank you.
30:22Where are you from?
30:23I'm from Israel.
30:24Shalom.
30:25Shalom.
30:26How long is your trip in Thailand?
30:28Three weeks.
30:29I was in Chiang Mai before.
30:31And now I'm doing Samoy.
30:33And then I'll go to Koh Phangan.
30:35And that's it.
30:36How's your impression of Thailand?
30:38It was weird.
30:40Because it was really spontaneous trip.
30:42And also...
30:44Before here I was in a temple doing Vipassana.
30:48So...
30:49Completely different vibe over there than here.
30:52But I love it.
30:54Why did you choose Thailand?
30:55A lot of my friends came here.
30:57And I've only heard good things about this place.
31:01And I thought it's a really good place to just kind of...
31:04Find some quiet.
31:06And go to the beach.
31:08And just kind of...
31:09Ease my mind for a second.
31:11And you know...
31:12Think.
31:13I met lots of Israeli people here.
31:15Everyone over here is Israeli in Samoy anyway.
31:19In the north I didn't see one Israeli.
31:22But here a lot.
31:23What do you do for living?
31:24I'm a graphic designer.
31:26Oh.
31:27So you are stylish?
31:28Yes.
31:29That's right.
31:30But I was an actress as well.
31:32I went to acting school in New York.
31:35And I'm starting my BA in psychology in September.
31:38Have you faced any culture shock in Thailand?
31:41I think so.
31:42Because like the first thing was coming like to a temple over here.
31:48So a lot of nuns and monks over there.
31:51And only eating like Thai food.
31:54So it was a really specific environment.
31:57So yeah, I had...
31:58Because like I'm not used to the flavors.
32:00I'm not used...
32:03Like there's a different energy for Thai people.
32:07Everyone are really nice.
32:08Really, really nice.
32:09And really like calm.
32:11So yeah, completely different energy and culture over here.
32:15So yeah, it took a second to kind of understand.
32:18But everyone are really welcoming, which is nice.
32:21What is your best experience in Thailand?
32:23When I was in the temple, there was chanting with the monks and the nuns.
32:30So I think doing that, it was like Buddha day.
32:34And we were like giving flowers and like putting candles.
32:39And doing this chanting thing.
32:42Like sing it with them because there's like kind of a rhyme into it.
32:46So just to learn how to sing it and read it.
32:50And the whole experience, I think it was like the coolest so far.
32:54It was so not my everyday life.
32:58So it was super interesting.
32:59I like that.
33:00Thank you for your time.
33:02Yeah, and have a nice trip.
33:03You too.
33:20I'm out.
33:21I'm out.
33:22I'm out.
33:23I'm out.
33:24I'm out.
33:25I'm out.
33:26I'm out.
33:27I'm out.
33:28I'm out.
33:29I'm out.
33:30I'm out.
33:31I'm out.
33:32I'm out.
33:33I'm out.
33:34I'm out.
33:35I'm out.
33:36I'm out.
33:37I'm out.
33:38I'm out.
33:39I'm out.
33:40I'm out.
33:41I'm out.
33:42I'm out.
33:43I'm out.
33:44I'm out.
33:45I'm out.
