01:04and ambitions to accelerate GDP growth, the focus is shifting toward developing a new generation of workers.
01:11Kazakhstan aims to foster a new labor culture, promoting respect for working professions among young people,
01:16strengthening professional dynasties and boosting productivity across the economy.
01:22Blue-collar workers remain essential to an expert-driven economy, built on oil, gas, metals and agriculture.
01:27As production capacity expands, the National Workforce Development Center forecasts a 12% labor shortfall by 2030,
01:35particularly in technical and service occupations.
01:38These shortages could push wages higher, making skilled trades increasingly appealing to young people.
01:44The government aims to raise the status of working professions among young people through education reforms.
02:08It is also providing housing support for blue-collar workers and organizing nationwide skills competitions,
02:14career forums, and professional festivals.
02:17In our college, I have a lot of students, and I have a lot of students who are going to participate in the competitions.
02:27One of the flagship multi-tier competitions is Yengbegzholi, or the Labor Path,
02:31an annual contest recognizing labor dynasties, young professionals, and mentors.
02:35In 2025, winners in the Best Labor Dynasties category represented a combined 3,934 years of work experience,
02:44with many families working in the same profession across generations.
02:47In total, our dynasty was more than 400 years old.

03:04Kazakhstan is shifting its technical and vocational education system to a dual learning model,
03:10combining classroom study with on-the-job training.
03:13More than 100,000 students are now training at 18,000 enterprises.
03:17Over 4,000 companies partner with more than 600 colleges, offering internships, mentorship, and equipment upgrades.
03:23These reforms are also paired with employment guarantees for graduates.
03:27In almost all regions, there are social committees, federations.
03:30We are very closely talking with them.
03:32We support almost 60% of the economy.
03:35With our partners, the Social Minister of Labor and Social Security, we also discuss these or
03:40many important questions to make it useful for the three sides.
03:44At the same time, Kazakhstan is opening its vocational education system to international standards.
03:59More than 60 colleges now partner with institutions in 30 countries, foreign management expertise is
04:04being introduced, academic mobility is expanding, and nine technical and vocational colleges have
04:09now secured international accreditation.
04:37By raising the prestige of labor and working professions, Kazakhstan is steering its growing
04:42youth population into skilled jobs that underpin its export-driven economy.
04:47By upgrading training and aligning it with international standards, the government hopes to close workforce
04:52gaps and prepare a new generation of skilled workers.
