00:00An Indonesian construction worker was slapped with six summonses after being detained during
00:05an operation by the Malacca Road Transport Department around Malacca Raya on Tuesday.
00:11The department's director, Siti Zarina Mohamed Yusop, said Czechs found that the foreigner,
00:16believed to be in his 30s, was riding a motorcycle without a valid driving license
00:21and with expired road tax and insurance, along with several other technical offenses.
00:26Part of the six summonses, she said, were also issued to his employer while the motorcycle
00:32was confiscated on the spot.
00:34The man was among eight Indonesians as well as one Syrian, one Myanmar and one Bangladeshi,
00:41aged between 30 and 40, who were detained for various traffic offenses.
00:46During the operation, 55 vehicles were inspected.
00:50Action was taken against 11 vehicles and 43 notices of offense were issued under the road
00:56transport act, 1987.
00:58A total of 11 vehicles were seized, comprising nine motorcycles, a car and a pickup truck.
