00:00Prosecution rates are at historic highs in the district.
00:05We are prosecuting crime like never before in the District of Columbia.
00:11Fewer than 10% of the cases go unprosecuted,
00:17compared to almost 70% of the cases that went unprosecuted in the last administration.
00:25So, as a direct result of the increase in prosecution, tougher enforcement, crime is coming down in D.C.
00:33And since the enhanced federal partnership and the surge as well,
00:38as you can see, homicide is down 60%.
00:43Robbery is down 49%.
00:47Carjackings are down 68%.
00:52And as someone new to the district,
00:55that was the one thing that people constantly talked to me about, carjackings.
01:00And they are now down 68%.
01:03Overall crime down 32%.
01:05The reason the crime isn't down even more than that, than the 32%,
01:11is because now we're accurately counting assaults with a deadly weapon,
01:17as opposed to minimizing them with lesser or non-D.C.R. crimes.
