Nick Kyrgios opened up about potentially playing at the Australian Open as he returns to competitive tennis
Transcript
00:00I feel as if I can perform at the Australian Open and really enjoy it and give the people,
00:06they're paying good money to be there. If I'm not able to give them that, I guess,
00:09the Kyrgios experience, then I'd rather, I would genuinely rather give it to someone
00:13that earns the wild card and really is in tip-top shape to start off something special in their
00:21career. So just say you were given a wild card to qualifying at the Australian Open,
00:25would you be prepared to grind through there to get a main draw start?
00:32I guess potentially, yeah. I mean, like, as I said, like, this, my short-term goal is
00:38to get through my doubles with one of my mates that I grew up with and, you know,
00:46he's had success here, he's won doubles here, I've won this tournament, hence that's why we got a wild
00:50wild card. Yeah. I'm just going to get through this week first and whatever AO brings, AO brings,
00:57but that's two weeks away. I don't know what could happen between now and then.
01:01As an athlete like yourself, obviously, you know that so many things can change.
01:05So, yeah, I'll just take it day by day.
