00:00What the Faith Temple Church is going on?
00:20Tonight, former congregation members of Faith Temple Church claim Real Housewives star Mary Cosby is running a cult.
00:27Mary is the pastor of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.
00:31She is touted as one of the wealthiest housewives of Salt Lake City.
00:35She's quirky, funny.
00:37I love her and I hate her.
00:39She is reality television gold.
00:42And she's married to her grandmother's husband.
00:47This was the reason that people were watching the show.
00:51You have this woman who married her step-grandfather,
00:54took over the church, and the church is being called a cult.
00:57I cannot believe Miss Mary Cosby.
01:00Is it a cult?
01:01Where was she getting all her money from?
01:03There's obviously a scandal here.
01:05A big one.
01:07It's time for people to know the truth.
01:11So that the people can see for themselves who she is and what she's about.
01:18This was always a need for money.
01:20They need $100,000.
01:21They need it by Thursday.
01:24It's about manipulation.
01:26It's about control.
01:27She has a spell on these people.
01:30There was a fear of leaving.
01:31You had to do what Mary and Robert said or your salvation is at risk.
01:37That's a big red flag.
01:40In mind control cult, power, money, and sex are the three universals.
01:44They used the pulpit to torment you.
01:48It was all in the premise of God.
01:51Holiness in hell.
01:52Isolation became more frequent.
01:54You can't talk to other members.
01:56It's unbelievable.
01:58The pain.
01:59They have no idea what she's capable of.
02:02My whole body went numb from the neck down.
02:08And I heard something speak to me and say, it's a cult.
02:11This photograph, it's fun and it's sad at the same time.
02:35Because I see so many relationships and so much history in these relationships.
02:43I see several people that are no longer members and some that are unfortunately still current members of the church.
02:53The girl in the red dress, do you recognize her?
02:56I absolutely recognize her.
02:58I wish I didn't.
02:59Mary Jefferson at that time.
03:06She was my girlfriend.
03:08Get out.
03:09At that time.
03:10Yeah.
03:10Yeah.
03:11We treated her like extended family coming from the church.
03:16But Mary was a bully.
03:19I remember Mary picking on certain girls, controlling them.
03:23And of course, when you're kids, like you see these things and, you know, you don't think much of it.
03:29But as an adult, you know, you look back on this day and she wasn't a nice person.
03:36If you want to understand her character, it's right there in front of your face.
03:40It's on national television.
03:42Well, it's been all the talk of the town.
03:47We are so excited because this week is the premiere of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
03:53I think Salt Lake City is going to take it.
03:55Oh, Salt Lake City is going to be everybody's new favorite.
03:59What a cast.
04:00If you've never watched The Real Housewives of any franchise, it essentially follows the friendships of a group of fabulous socialite women in their respective cities.
04:11They're always beautiful and they're always rich.
04:14But what Salt Lake City did different, there was a religious aspect.
04:20In Salt Lake City, there is a huge community of Mormons.
04:23But the show has an array of beliefs.
04:26You have Meredith Marks, who is Jewish.
04:28You have Jen Shah, who converted from Mormonism to Islam.
04:32And you have Mary Cosby, who is a pastor of a Pentecostal church.
04:37This is the truth.
04:39I believe in it.
04:41So let God be God.
04:44We see Mary preaching on the show.
04:49She has authority.
04:51Her congregation loves her.
04:54She comes across as a legitimate pastor.
04:58Mary was first portrayed on the show as very pretty, quirky.
05:04She says things that some people might find funny.
05:08Others might say she's dumb.
05:09According to reports, in the first season, Mary's touted as one of the wealthiest housewives of Salt Lake City, with an estimated net worth of about $5 million.
05:29Mary takes her castmate, Whitney, on a grand tour of her house.
05:34Her room and closets are overflowing with designer goods.
05:38Welcome you to my little humble abode.
05:42And I don't let anyone in.
05:44My God.
05:46I have a little bit of a shopping problem.
05:48You have a closet and this?
05:51Every closet in the house is full of my clothes.
05:53I would be watching the show.
05:55I would be seeing the mansion.
05:56I would know about the house in Florida.
05:58I would know about the house in Vegas.
06:00The penthouse in New York.
06:01I would wonder how are you affording all of it.
06:03So Mary begins to introduce herself and her marriage to the audience.
06:18Mary explains that the reason why she is a pastor of Faith Temple is because of her grandmother, who essentially gave Mary the church and all of its businesses when she died.
06:33Basically, my grandmother passed everything on to me and literally, she wanted me to also marry her second husband, which was my step-grandfather.
06:47This takes it to a whole new level in some weird effed up way.
06:51I've never heard of a step-grandfather marrying their step-granddaughter.
06:56Like, what the hell is going on?
06:58It was kind of in my grandma's will for us to marry.
07:02She said, if anything ever happens to me, Bobby, I want you to marry one of my girls because they'll look out for you.
07:09We're blessed to this day because of it.
07:11Watching the clip of Mary Cosby explaining her relationship with her husband, it's wild.
07:18Legitimately, no other Real Housewives franchise has started with scandal.
07:25Salt Lake City was the first one.
07:26Lots to talk about today in the comments section.
07:28I want to know, what do you guys think about Mary, Martha and this whole marrying her step-grandfather business?
07:36My reaction to it was, what?
07:39Who would go for grandma's, you know, sloppy seconds?
07:48Mary became a hot topic.
07:58She was going to fire that got people saying, have you heard about Salt Lake City?
08:03I just discovered the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
08:06That's new.
08:06Have you seen it yet?
08:07No, I have not seen that.
08:09Is that?
08:09Oh, boy.
08:11We have to talk about Mary Cosby.
08:13Her whole backstory is very interesting.
08:17She was 25, he was 45.
08:19The age difference alone is enough to scare the hell out of me.
08:23Mary was born in 1972, which would make her three years old at the time Robert was coming into her life as her step-grandfather.
08:31Mary said she was 22 years old at the time of marrying Robert, and Robert is 20 years her senior.
08:36Mary even says to herself that it's weird, it's a little bit taboo, but it's a blessing, and so it's just kind of something people have to move on from.
08:52It's not my blood.
08:54It was a family situation choice that I knew was right.
08:58So they're coming at me like I'm incest, and I'm gross, and I'm marrying my grandfather, which sounds ridiculous.
09:05But I think, well, it does sound ridiculous, but I mean, it does sound ridiculous.
09:10It's my story.
09:12The reality is, you married your grandpa, and that's it.
09:18I think a lot of housewives don't understand if you have skeletons in your closet, you better not join a reality TV show.
09:35So we're just going to ignore the audio that leaked of Mary Cosby of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City berating her congregation.
09:49Listen.
09:50This was somebody in the congregation who was obviously hurt, who has dealt with this before, or else they wouldn't have taken their phone out and recorded it.
10:15To hear this audio clip where she is ripping into people, you kind of go, wait, is that real?
10:34Like, which version of Mary is real?
10:36My name is Denise Jefferson.
10:48Mary is my sister.
10:50I didn't know that my sister was capable of doing what she's doing.
10:55She's on this show telling them about God, and she's like, we'll let God be the judge.
10:59For me, church is a place of a rescue, and it's a place where love should always fall.
11:08She's a big hypocrite, and the world is eating it up.
11:12The bottom line is, I'm going to tell you, she's always been a fraud, as far as I'm concerned.
11:17My earliest memories of Mary were basically very needy, and sometimes in areas where it was not always good in the family.
11:37But I admired her because she had a nice spirit when she wanted to.
11:42I was the big sister, and I think that she kind of felt that respect for me.
11:49But I now understand that Mary being able to even marry our Gramps was not normal.
11:59And I feel like the reason it happened was because of who she is.
12:03You have to step out of yourself to make a decision like that and have an end goal, and I think that that's what happened.
12:13You're poor yourself.
12:15And if you ain't poor, it's expensive, so you're still poor.
12:18God kills you, poor.
12:21That's the form of manipulation.
12:22There was a lot of chatter online that Mary was running a cult from Faith Temple.
12:43She's a pastor.
12:50A pastor of a cult?
12:51Mm-hmm.
12:53Y'all, I think it might be a cult.
12:54There's a side to Mary we haven't seen yet, people.
12:57She sounded like a real cult leader.
12:59This is not a good look.
13:01Look!
13:05After every season of Real Housewives, there is the reunion, and that is a moment where fans get to ask the Real Housewives themselves about questions during the season.
13:15The allegations were reaching a fever pitch, so much so that Andy had to bring it up on the reunion.
13:23Are there rumors that your church is a cult?
13:26Yes.
13:26It was peculiar that a pastor was being openly questioned on national television.
13:33It legitimized the rumors as now accusations that we're going to talk about.
13:39As an investigative journalist, I was very curious if it actually did fit the definition of a cult.
13:46Are there serious allegations of spiritual abuse, financial abuse, keeping people isolated?
13:53So I really wanted to explore that further because I was unsure if this show would really get to the bottom of it.
14:00When I first started looking into these allegations that Faith Temple was a cult, I tried to find former members.
14:09I spoke with nearly a dozen people.
14:12A lot of them laid out a series of accusations that had to deal with donating money to the church.
14:19It was a very intense process of draining resources from congregation members.
14:25Wow.
14:26They have the whole Faith Temple Pentecostal Church Youth Choir on hand to entertain.
14:45Really putting a lot into it out there.
14:46How do you get the kids to stay with you?
14:48Oh my gosh.
14:49The main thing is to keep their minds on God.
14:52Get God into anything, it becomes a success.
14:54Wow.
14:55Wow.
14:55Wow.
14:55I can't even remember that day, but I'm in that video.
15:07I saw myself.
15:09It made me emotional because of my dad.
15:13My sister singing and a lot of memories.
15:16I led a lot of songs with the choir.
15:21I was the first child born to my parents in Faith Temple.
15:26There's myself, Rosalyn, and then there's my brothers, Ernest and Michael.
15:33The story is that my father had pretty much given up on churches.
15:39My grandmother happened to come across Rosemary Cosby, who we all call Mama.
15:45And he liked what he saw.
15:47And from that point on, it was the Enoch's and Faith Temple.
15:51Mary, there's supposedly audio of you calling your congregation poor and stingy because they
15:59didn't give you gifts for your birthday.
16:01That's not true.
16:01How do we know that's not really you?
16:03It is me.
16:04Oh, it is you?
16:05Yeah, it is me.
16:06And you know what?
16:06It was taken out of content.
16:10Well, the last part of it is her lying.
16:13I was there when Mary complained about the 14 birthday cards.
16:16I was always there.
16:18I'm the organist.
16:19I gave this chick a card with $1,000 in it.
16:24Asked me if she said thank you.
16:27There is a plan, that card has for every one of us.
16:31Faith Temple, under Robert and Mary Cosby,
16:34they created this thing called these heave offerings.
16:37They were going to have them every six months.
16:41It started to increase over time.
16:44We could have just had a heave offering meeting,
16:47and then in a week or two, we're having another meeting where we're being told
16:50there's an emergency and they need $100,000.
16:53They need it by Thursday.
16:56The worst announcement you could hear when you walked into that church is
17:00tell everybody don't leave.
17:01We need to have an emergency saints meeting.
17:04And you knew it was going to be about money.
17:08We have these meetings after church.
17:11Robert would instruct ushers to stand at the doors.
17:16So you're just being barricaded in here.
17:19During this meeting, everyone put their name and their amount on the list.
17:30If you didn't have a certain amount, Robert would say,
17:34and that's all you have?
17:37I mean, there's nothing spiritual about that, right?
17:39To collect money, they use credit cards.
17:43To collect money, they use credit cards.
17:45I can recall, text my debit card number to one of the members that collected on the money
17:49so that he could enter that in manually.
17:54There were times that I would give $5,000.
17:57It was a lot.
18:00This money is getting bigger and bigger, bigger and bigger.
18:04There were people cashing out 401Ks, losing homes.
18:09It got to be a financial embarrassment for some.
18:12I'm doing everything.
18:15I got a loan.
18:15I'm trying to pay off in my 401K.
18:17If I pay it off, I can pull some more out and help.
18:19It was a lot of pressure.
18:21In mind control cults, power, money, and sex are the three universals,
18:34and not always sex, but usually.
18:38That's a big red flag.
18:40My name is Dr. Stephen Hasson.
18:42I'm a cult expert, and I'm considered to be a world authority on cults and brainwashing.
18:49Within religious mind control cults, there's a lot of financial exploitation.
18:55We live in a world where we need money for food, for shelter, to buy clothing, and everything else.
19:02And it's true that Judaism and Christianity and Islam talk about giving a percentage to help the community,
19:13but they don't talk about giving over everything you have.
19:17And when people find out that the leader is living a luxurious lifestyle,
19:23it's natural to feel angry and upset and feel exploited.
19:29Most people in cults, they have no clue what's actually happening behind the scenes.
19:36Good people can't imagine the level of evil.
19:39The rumor is that your personal wealth is coming from somehow through the church.
19:49Andy, my church couldn't possibly take care of me.
19:51When you've seen the size of my church, Meredith, you have too.
19:54They couldn't.
19:55There's no way I could.
19:56And I guess it would stand to reason, then, that they would be quite upset watching the show,
20:02seeing you with all the labels and all that stuff.
20:05Yeah, if they thought that I was taking their money, they know better.
20:08I'm a God-fearing woman.
20:09I would never do that.
20:12I guess the next big question would be,
20:15if your lifestyle is not on the backs of the people who are supporting the church,
20:21what is it on the back of?
20:24What do you do?
20:25Where do you work?
20:28Let's start there.
20:29What affords Mary Cosby?
20:35Multiple homes.
20:37Chanel backs.
20:38This is a lifestyle that is very expensive.
20:42What's the truth?
20:47People saying, wait, exactly what is going on with this church
20:51sets the stage for what we're about to see in season two.
20:55The ladies of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are back.
20:58Who's the most bizarre housewife of all of them?
21:01It's Mary Cosby, the cult.
21:03Oh, yeah, thank you.
21:04There it is.
21:06Mary Cosby, she runs an alleged cult,
21:10and she's married to her grandmother's husband.
21:13What?
21:14I love her and I hate her.
21:15She is reality television gold.
21:18The reason that Mary Cosby is the villain that you love
21:21on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
21:23is because Mary Cosby is unapologetically herself.
21:28Her season two tagline was,
21:30if you come for me, I will send Jesus after you.
21:32And I'm like, what?
21:34It makes great television.
21:36Let's put it that way.
21:37Mary just has an inability to feel
21:40what anybody else is going through but herself.
21:43One of the members in our church,
21:47like, when their daughter, like, had a crash.
21:50When?
21:52Today, like, last night.
21:53And she was ejected from the sunroof
21:56and fell down into a neighborhood.
22:0130 feet drop off the freeway.
22:04Is she still alive?
22:05No.
22:10Wear your seatbelt.
22:11I just watched a clip
22:25of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
22:31and Mary mocking
22:36the loss of a life of my loved one.
22:46A niece that I had a hand in raising.
22:54Like it was a joke.
22:58Like it was a joke.
22:59Mikel is my niece
23:05and she's the daughter of my youngest sibling, Michael.
23:10Mikel and I were super close.
23:13We were buddies.
23:14This was the niece that would text you in the morning
23:17and say,
23:17hey, auntie, I'm thinking about you.
23:22She lost her life tragically to an accident.
23:24This was a young girl
23:26just getting her life started.
23:28A mother of two children.
23:33Mikel's baby boy turned one year old
23:36three days after she passed.
23:38I loved, I loved Mikel with her beautiful self.
23:48That beautiful girl,
23:50she was smart
23:51and she was working
23:53on doing things
23:55and just trying to get it together.
23:58Just like, you know,
23:59any other kid her age is.
24:01Can I play you that clip from Housewives?
24:05Nah.
24:06And I'm not going to give her the satisfaction.
24:09How did it make me feel?
24:11I was angry.
24:12That was an attack
24:13on me
24:14and my daughter.
24:16You have to be one
24:18miserable
24:20human being
24:22to go that low.
24:25Oh, well,
24:26I guess you should wear a seatbelt.
24:28I saw it.
24:30Now,
24:31that's a pastor?
24:33No, sir.
24:35Not at all.
24:37It was a very traumatizing
24:38moment to watch.
24:40Anyone that could speak
24:41and joke about anything like that
24:43doesn't deserve to pastor
24:45anything.
24:47Why are you speaking
24:49on my daughter anyway?
24:51You didn't send condolences.
24:53These are babies.
24:56I watched little London
24:57dance around her mom's
24:59casket
25:00and not one phone call
25:03from Mary.
25:05He didn't say nothing.
25:07Fortunately,
25:08my daughter's gone.
25:09She didn't have to hear it.
25:10It's unfortunate for my daughter
25:12that she loved Mary and Robert.
25:16She loved the church.
25:18She kept a doll
25:19that Mary bought her
25:20when my daughter
25:21was a little girl.
25:22When I went to clean out
25:23her place,
25:24she still had that doll.
25:33This would piss me off.
25:35This was a child
25:36of one of the members
25:37of your congregation
25:38and you are talking about it
25:40so just like nonchalantly.
25:43When people watch reality TV,
25:45it is a form of entertainment
25:47and you're expecting
25:48to be entertained.
25:50But speaking to these
25:51congregation members,
25:52it was very sobering.
25:55This was not a point
25:57of entertainment anymore.
25:58People that knew our family
26:02and knew Mikel
26:03were coming together
26:05and they began
26:06to start a GoFundMe.
26:08From what I heard,
26:10Mary told her members
26:12not to help me.
26:15And if you gave anything
26:16to the GoFundMe,
26:18go and take it back.
26:20Blame my daughter to rest.
26:22And Mary's being an antagonizer.
26:24Where is it at?
26:24What's going on?
26:25Who did this?
26:26Why are you involved?
26:28It's disgusting.
26:30What I think Mary's reason was
26:31is because any money
26:33that was not going
26:34to come to Mary
26:35was going to shorten
26:36her bank account.
26:38Because why else
26:39would you do it?
26:40I know that's what kills me
26:41about Mary and Robert.
26:42I'm like,
26:42what do y'all think
26:43that you are actually
26:44getting away with?
26:45Because you're not.
26:47You're doing evil.
26:49She has to live
26:50with what she did
26:52and her day is coming.
26:53And I don't mean that
26:56in a threatening way.
26:57I mean that in a way
26:58where you reap what you sow.
27:06Hey, hey, hey, guys.
27:07Happy Monday
27:07and welcome back.
27:09Woo, dude,
27:09we have a lot to talk about.
27:10Everyone wants to know
27:11about the allegations
27:12against Mary's church
27:13because many have claimed
27:15that it's very cult-like.
27:16season two Real Housewives
27:19of Salt Lake City
27:20dives specifically
27:21into the accusations
27:23that Mary is a cult leader.
27:25It had gone from
27:27social media chatter
27:28to something now
27:29that her Real Housewives
27:30castmates were looking
27:32into themselves
27:32and hearing firsthand reports
27:34about what was happening.
27:36So everything came out
27:38in real time on screen.
27:39The congregation believes
27:41that Mary is God.
27:43That is very clear.
27:44Are they worshiping her?
27:46Yes.
27:46So after watching Whitney
27:48explain to Meredith Marks
27:50that Mary Cosby
27:52leads her church
27:54by representing herself
27:56as God,
27:58I find it to be insanity.
28:02Not only does she refer
28:03to herself as God,
28:05but she also tells members
28:06they will be condemned to hell
28:08if they don't listen to her.
28:09What the Faith Temple Church
28:11is going on?
28:12It's God and you need
28:13you to go with it.
28:15Faith Temple is a Pentecostal church.
28:17However,
28:18the congregation
28:19is treating Mary
28:20like God.
28:22That is considered blasphemy.
28:25No one is equal to God.
28:31During a sermon
28:33on Housewives,
28:33there is a man
28:34that gets on his knees
28:36in front of her
28:37at the altar.
28:37You have a woman
28:39reading this letter
28:41to her.
28:41You are
28:42my perfect life.
28:46God's love
28:46for his people
28:47reigns in you.
28:49You are
28:49the facsimile
28:50of God.
28:51You have another
28:52congregation member
28:54screaming out
28:55that Mary's
28:55the best friend
28:56that she's ever had.
28:57You'll be the best friend!
28:59People are crying.
29:01It's a very
29:02intense moment.
29:03I'll never leave you.
29:05I'll run.
29:06I'll stay with you.
29:08I'll stay with you.
29:10Her church
29:10putting her
29:11equal to God
29:13becomes a real
29:14point of concern
29:15and gives
29:15credence
29:16to this accusation
29:17that
29:18this could be a cult.
29:19worshiping leaders
29:23is a phenomenon
29:25that when we
29:27hold people
29:28up on a pedestal
29:30or they have a position
29:31like President
29:32of the United States,
29:34we have the tendency
29:35as mere mortals
29:37to have awe.
29:38We think that
29:39they're so special
29:40we forget
29:41they're just human
29:42and they have a role
29:43or they have an office.
29:44And then it's made
29:46more complicated
29:47with spiritual leaders
29:49who say
29:50God is speaking to me.
29:52It's a very powerful device
29:54that's used
29:55to manipulate
29:55and control people
29:57to get them
29:59to do whatever
30:00the leader wants.
30:02That's the stereotypical
30:04cult leader.
30:05Well, there is one government
30:06and one media
30:07and one media
30:08between governments
30:09like God
30:10and they.
30:12Who do you think
30:13that is?
30:13You.
30:23Cameron is
30:24one of my
30:25very good friends
30:25and he's our
30:26connection to Mary.
30:28When Lisa Barlow
30:29introduced Cameron
30:30on the show,
30:31we were all wondering
30:33what is the motive here?
30:34Mary, her husband,
30:36like they've done
30:37some things that
30:37have been very harmful
30:39but the truth
30:41was revealed
30:42and I knew
30:44that I couldn't
30:45stay with that truth
30:46and I had to walk away.
30:49Something else entirely.
30:50And what was it?
30:54Cameron's not saying
30:55exactly everything
30:56to Meredith
30:57about what happened
30:58between him and Mary.
30:59He's kind of dancing
31:00around it
31:01using vague language
31:02to say, you know,
31:03be careful.
31:04Just be careful.
31:05He said he had to step
31:07away from the church
31:09and he acknowledges
31:10that there's harm
31:12being done
31:12in some way.
31:13It's just kind of
31:14a question mark
31:15of what he really
31:16means by that.
31:17I don't like hearing this
31:18because I really
31:19love Mary.
31:20I did too
31:21at one point.
31:22Mary and I
31:22were extremely close
31:23at one point.
31:25After Cameron
31:26says that
31:27he and Mary
31:28had a very close
31:29relationship
31:30it opens up
31:31the door
31:31for social media
31:32to begin
31:33rampantly speculating.
31:34There's a rumor
31:35going around
31:36that she was having
31:36an affair with Cameron.
31:39Yes.
31:40Mary Cosby
31:41who cannot escape
31:42the allegations
31:42having a boyfriend
31:43on the side.
31:45I've heard this rumor
31:46for a few weeks now
31:48that there was
31:49something more intimate
31:50going on between
31:51her and Cameron.
31:53It intensified
31:55everyone wanting
31:56to find out more.
31:59after Cameron
32:04appears on the show
32:05I tried to speak
32:06with him as well
32:07for my investigation
32:08because he seemed
32:09to have a lot more
32:10answers to Mary
32:11in the church.
32:13Unfortunately
32:13I learned that Cameron
32:14passed away
32:15shortly after filming
32:17due to complications
32:18from surgery
32:19because he had
32:20a brain tumor.
32:22So there still
32:23is a lot of mystery
32:25around Cameron
32:26and what he had
32:27to say about Mary.
32:29who was Cameron
32:36Williams?
32:39Cameron was
32:40a smart guy.
32:41He was a man
32:42that loved God.
32:45He was a good dude.
32:46Had a lot of depth
32:47to him.
32:48Very ambitious.
32:50The week I met him
32:51is the week
32:52he came to church.
32:53He came to the church
32:58to be saved.
33:00He had three years
33:02worth of tithing
33:04that he saved
33:06looking for
33:07a church.
33:10So when he found
33:11Faith Temple
33:12it was like
33:12man, you know.
33:14He was going hard.
33:15He was showing up
33:17to services,
33:18participating,
33:19getting involved.
33:20He became
33:21extra confident
33:23in the church
33:24and I remember
33:25thinking like
33:27man, this dude
33:29is walking around here
33:29like he's smashing
33:31the main lady
33:31in the house.
33:33I thought that.
33:34I remember
33:35making that statement
33:36and then
33:38he just stopped
33:39coming
33:40and I didn't hear
33:41from him.
33:42I didn't see him.
33:42So
33:44I asked him
33:46why did you
33:47leave the church?
33:48He says
33:49if I was to tell you
33:50why
33:50you wouldn't believe me
33:52or you'd get upset.
33:56I'm like
33:57huh?
33:58Now
33:58I'm putting
33:59all these pieces
34:00together
34:01and I'm processing
34:02conversations
34:03with Cameron
34:04conversations
34:06between me
34:07and Danny.
34:07Mary Cosby
34:12is my
34:12first cousin.
34:14One day
34:15Cameron
34:15had called me
34:16he says
34:17what I'm going
34:17to tell you
34:18I'm only telling you
34:20because
34:21I'm fearing
34:22for my life
34:23and
34:24if anything
34:25happened to him
34:26he wanted
34:27his story out.
34:28at the end
34:37of the day
34:38like I told you
34:39my goal
34:39is to protect
34:40my family
34:40but I'm trying
34:41to make sure
34:41I don't go down
34:42on her shit.
34:44That's why
34:45I was calling
34:45her I'm like
34:46okay
34:46but that's
34:48why my woman
34:48allowed
34:48because
34:49I'm going
34:49to assume
34:49she was very
34:50young.
34:51So
34:51am I okay?
34:52Go ahead
34:53talk.
34:54So then
34:54Cameron
34:55just started
34:55spilling the beans
34:56started opening up
34:57and just telling me
34:58everything
34:58according to Cameron
35:03Mary went to
35:06Cameron's house
35:06Mary started
35:10asking Cameron
35:11if you'll put
35:11on this music
35:12they come sit
35:15by each other
35:16and
35:18Mary grabs
35:20Cameron's hand
35:21and
35:23starts rubbing
35:24her
35:24and
35:26according to Cameron
35:28he put
35:28his hand
35:29in her vagina
35:32and I said
35:34what?
35:36and then I said
35:37then what?
35:37you know
35:37now I'm inquiring
35:38what happened
35:39what happened
35:40is that it?
35:41and he says
35:42and then we had
35:45sex
35:46I asked him
35:50does anybody else
35:51know the truth
35:52of what you guys
35:53have been doing
35:53and he told me
35:55that yes
35:56Ernie knows
35:58I said
36:01what?
36:02he said
36:03me and Mary
36:03had an affair
36:04I said
36:06this is crazy
36:07what about
36:08the ministry?
36:09what is going
36:10on with that?
36:11these people
36:12are ministers
36:13they're supposed
36:14to be preaching
36:15according to Cameron
36:38he was contacted
36:39by the Real Housewives
36:41of Salt Lake
36:41because
36:42apparently
36:43he and Lisa Barlow
36:45were some type
36:46of acquaintances
36:47they said
36:48there's this thing
36:48going on
36:49they're looking
36:49for a woman
36:50to do the Real Housewives
36:51of Salt Lake
36:51he said
36:53I know one person
36:54and he was referring
36:55to Mary
36:55according to Cameron
36:57he calls Mary
36:58and she
36:59jumped on it
37:01I want to do it
37:03oh my god
37:04please do this
37:05you know
37:05please hook me up
37:06I would love
37:07to do this
37:08Cameron
37:12set Mary up
37:13with Real Housewives
37:15of Salt Lake
37:16in his own
37:17exact words
37:18so that the people
37:20can see for themselves
37:21who she is
37:23and what she's about
37:24your understanding
37:25from Cameron
37:26is that
37:27he placed her
37:28on Housewives
37:30in border to
37:31expose him
37:32they'll beat you down
37:36until they get
37:37what they want
37:37is that why
37:38you mortgaged
37:38your house
37:39yes that is
37:39exactly why
37:40I mortgaged
37:40my house
37:41oh wow
37:41they wrap
37:44your entire
37:44life around
37:45a single idea
37:46as though
37:47it is
37:47the difference
37:49between heaven
37:50and hell
37:50for you
37:50on the show
37:52Cameron admits
37:54that he
37:54took a second
37:55mortgage out
37:56on his home
37:57in the amount
37:58of $300,000
37:59and gave it
38:01to Mary
38:02that was
38:05a huge
38:07revelation
38:08he mortgaged
38:11his house
38:11and gave her
38:12$300,000
38:12Cameron has had
38:14extreme religious
38:14trauma
38:15being a member
38:16of her church
38:16I felt it
38:17I cried with him
38:18I believe him
38:20do I think
38:21it's appropriate
38:22for the first lady
38:23of the church
38:23to have an affair
38:25and then
38:25have him hand
38:27over $300,000
38:28it's more
38:29than inappropriate
38:30I've never heard
38:31of anything
38:32like this before
38:32ever
38:33ever
38:34ever
38:34I think about
38:35somebody like me
38:36no family here
38:37no real friends
38:39I had nothing
38:40and I'm just
38:40in this town
38:41and Mary
38:42gives me
38:43everything
38:43most people
38:46get involved
38:47in mind control
38:48cults
38:48during situational
38:50vulnerabilities
38:51so death
38:53of a loved one
38:54breakup
38:54in a relationship
38:56moving to a new
38:57city state
38:57or country
38:58that makes them
39:00off balance
39:01it's a vulnerable
39:03moment
39:03where cult leaders
39:04can pounce
39:05and they typically
39:17want to do
39:18a process
39:19of love bombing
39:20which is emotional
39:22control
39:22cult leaders
39:24will do
39:24anything
39:25to get
39:26power
39:26money
39:27and sex
39:28including telling
39:30people
39:30the leader
39:31is God's
39:32agent on earth
39:33someone in the church
39:41started the prophecy
39:43that Mary is God
39:44he felt that
39:46everything that he
39:47was doing
39:48was for God
39:50I'm like
39:51come on Cameron
39:53are you serious
39:55are you serious
39:55and he says
39:57no no
39:57for real
39:58that's
39:58that's what I thought
39:59here this is
40:01a highly intelligent
40:02individual
40:03that worked for
40:04Goldman Sachs
40:05how could he be
40:06such a fool
40:06to believe
40:08that Mary
40:09is God
40:09you can call me
40:11a fool for believing
40:12you can call me a fool
40:13for talking about
40:13Mary is God
40:14or messing with Mary
40:16like that
40:16you know
40:16you can say that
40:17and I understand
40:18because I feel like a fool
40:19Cameron had actually
40:28come to Danny
40:29and basically
40:30wanted some support
40:32because he was scared
40:33to death
40:34I mean scared
40:36of this girl
40:36like who is she
40:37like he was
40:38coming to him
40:39almost like a safe haven
40:40and saying
40:41what should I do
40:42help me
40:42when Cameron died
40:45I heard
40:47Mary said
40:49it was because
40:50he lied on her
40:50people started saying
40:56God took him
40:57because he was talking
40:58about the church
40:59these are antics
41:00they use
41:01Mary Cosby
41:06in the eyes
41:07of the Faith Temple Church
41:08she is God
41:10what?
41:13that's a church
41:14it's like a dictatorship
41:16Mary Cosby
41:19as a teenager
41:20boy
41:21she just was all
41:22about herself
41:23and the men around her
41:24that could do
41:25something for her
41:26Robert Cosby
41:27had a very heavy influence
41:29he's a monster
41:30it started
41:31becoming
41:32abusive
41:33get up boy
41:34get up boy
41:35get up boy
41:36get up
41:36cults emphasize
41:38fear and control
41:39the more I go down
41:41the Mary Cosby
41:41rabbit hole
41:42the crazier
41:43the story gets
41:44if we're going
41:45to talk about Mary
41:45that means we have
41:46to talk about her
41:47grandmother
41:47known as Mama
41:49when Mama
41:50passed away
41:50the arena
41:51had changed
41:52next thing you know
41:53Mary's in my
41:54gramps house
41:54and they're doing
41:55God knows what
41:56Mary and Robert
41:57decided they were
41:58going to get married
41:59but that's your
42:00granddaughter
42:00and he said
42:02don't worry
42:03God will make it
42:04plain to you
42:04the biggest thing
42:06that horrifies me
42:07Mary was married
42:08they had to get
42:09rid of him
42:10Robert and Mary
42:11would deal with
42:12confessions
42:13by public
42:14humiliation
42:15it will come to a
42:17head at what's
42:17known as the
42:18walkout service
42:19it was out of
42:20control
42:20it's wild west
42:22everybody's got
42:23their six shooters
42:24out
42:24you
