00:00Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro sent a direct message to the people of the United States
00:05assuring them that they have a friendly government in Caracas.
00:08During an interview with writer and journalist Ignacio Ramonet,
00:12the Venezuelan leader, distinguished the U.S. people from the actions of their government
00:17while affirming that Venezuelans are a friendly people and peaceful people as well.
00:23For his part, the head of state denounced the excessive use of force by the United States
00:28as an international crime.
00:31President Maduro also argued that U.S. policy in the country is isolated
00:34and evidences the failure of Washington's strategy to take over the South American country's resources.
00:41Finally, the head of state assured that the people of Venezuela are definitely against war.
00:47To the people of the United States, I even tell you, here you have a friendly government.
01:01I know the United States well.
01:05I have driven around New York, Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Queens, Manhattan, Washington.
01:12I have driven around a lot.
01:14I told the President of the United States that.
01:17I know a lot.
01:18I know Constitution Avenue, which is beautiful.
01:23Pennsylvania Avenue, where the statue in Humano to Bolivar is located.
01:29The Lincoln Memorial, which is beautiful.
01:31And I have driven there a lot.
01:33And the people of the United States should know
01:35that they have a friendly, peaceful people here
01:38and a friendly government too.
01:40They should know that our slogan is very clear.
01:48Since that this is a gift I have here for our day,
01:50our slogan is very clear.
01:53No war, yes peace.
01:55Not war, yes peace.
01:59In this context, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro also asserted
02:02that the country is facing a cognitive war
02:05and defended the truth as the main weapon for guaranteeing the country's sovereignty.
02:09War is cognitive because war is for the brain.
02:17The brain manages emotions and concepts.
02:19And war is cognitive.
02:21And for a cognitive war, you have to create a force of consciousness,
02:25a force of value, spiritual strength, and fight the battle with the truth.
02:34Our greatest weapon is not a nuclear missile.
02:37Our greatest weapon is the truth about Venezuela,
02:40which is irrefutable, devastating,
02:42and which when they open a breach like this for us to tell our truth,
02:47truly, the light comes on for good in our country.
02:55We defend our right to peace.
02:56We defend our right to national sovereignty,
02:59to international law that guarantees the self-determination of peoples.
03:02We defend the right to the future and to development.
03:11These are fundamental rights guaranteed by the United Nations
03:15and by all international treaties.
03:17The right to development of peoples,
03:19the right to the future,
03:20the right to peace.
03:21And we defend a glorious history,
03:23the history of the liberators of America.
03:26So I believe that this system of streets, networks, media, and walls
03:37will gain more and more strength,
03:39more substance,
03:40and will allow us in 2026 and in the years to come
03:43for Venezuela to be known for its truths
03:46and not for so much manipulation
03:48and so many dirty attacks that are made.
03:51And on the other hand,
03:56the head of state defended the Venezuelan democracy model
03:59and defied critics and the egemonic media
04:01to go to the communes to debate directly with the people.
04:08This year we had four national consultations,
04:11but of course for APCN and AFP
04:14and for the Western media,
04:16direct democracy doesn't exist.
04:20What exists for them is the permanent attack
04:23against the Bolivarian Venezuela.
04:27But here I defy anyone who wants to debate,
04:31whoever, no matter their name or position,
04:34I defy them to go to any neighborhood in Caracas
04:37and debate with our people,
04:39not with me,
04:40with the people
04:40so they can see how a new democracy is being built.
04:44We don't claim to be models for anyone,
04:49but we are proud of what we are building
04:51so the people are being empowered,
04:53forging themselves and training themselves.
04:59And the Venezuelan president
05:00also highlighted a 34% growth
05:03in trade and consumption
05:05and assured that this reflects recovery
05:07in the purchasing power of the population.
05:10This year, trade, sales, and consumption
05:18grew by 34%,
05:20and if there is an excess up-supply
05:22of domestic and imported products,
05:24domestic products already count for 90%
05:35of all products on the domestic market.
05:45This means that there is a real purchasing power
05:48and real consumption capacity
05:50in Venezuelan families
05:52and this must be consolidated.
