00:00Hello and welcome to the Top of the Pots review of 2025 where together we'll look back on some of
00:15the musical stories of the year as well as enjoying some great performances and celebrating
00:20the top 10 biggest selling songs. Now 2025 has been a year of nostalgic tours with the summer
00:26of Oasis Mania and 90s boy bands Five and Boyzone reuniting. Taylor Swift showed us the life of a
00:33showgirl plus the rise of country continued especially here in the UK as the home of country
00:38the Grand Ole Opry travelled to London for the first time ever. But there's even more to discover
00:44and over the next hour we'll enjoy music from Pulp, Chapel Roan and Lewis Capaldi. We'll say hello to
00:51the women of the moment breaking records all around the world this year, Olivia Dean. And Top of the
00:57Pots alumni and all-round legend Jarvis Cocker tells us about his year. Plus we'll get to know the
01:03artists behind two of the biggest selling songs of 2025. That's US rising stars Raven Lene and Alex
01:10Warren. So let's get into our first performance which comes from the man fondly known as the
01:15North East Springsteen who back in February released his third album People Watching and ended up winning
01:20the Mercury Prize Album of the Year, remaining a man of the people by donating all his winnings to
01:26charity. So here he is with the title track from his chart-topping album headlining Radio 1's Big
01:32Weekend in Liverpool, it's Sam Fender.
01:50Music by's singing and Rachael
02:04Music by his name and the man from the crew. And the people by watching that, we are the
02:04ones in the country that were a great day and sad. And the people by the people by the
02:05people by watching on the way back home. They'd be a sick to claim where we were
02:07all. Gives me away from feeling alone. Gives me a moment out of evil. I used to feel so visible,
02:12me a moment out of evil.
02:15I used to feel so invincible, I used to feel it was a world worth dreaming of.
02:21Back in the gasworks, screaming the song, just the beauty of youth will quell my anger.
02:27Oh, I feel so dark, I remember it.
02:33Oh, my heart, I feel so dark, I remember it.
02:49I've been for a while, so no way back home.
02:52Everybody on the treadmill, out of the billboards, out of the heat.
02:58So I'm gonna start and turn the street tonight.
03:03Oh, I can't stop it.
03:05That's it all come for.
03:07I think the world's on the way back home.
03:10I think the world's on the way back home.
03:13I came back home after seven years.
03:28I had a week chasing tracks of her tears.
03:31I wanted the nurse to get the gist of it.
03:34I promised her to get her out of the care.
03:37And the police was calling the bets.
03:40And I stopped and overruled by callous arms.
03:43The goodness was around the club.
03:46And the beauty of youth that left my great big heart.
03:51But what in my heart would love someone?
03:56Oh, I stayed alone till you left this lady.
04:06Cause that's just love.
04:13I think the world's on the way back home.
04:16Everybody on the treadmill winning.
04:19Out of the billboards, out of the heat.
04:22Somebody's telling the streets can't stop it.
04:25Someone would love someone.
04:26Someone could stop pushing.
04:29As you were more than I thought.
04:31I think the world's on the way back home.
04:34I think the world's on the way back...
04:43I think the world's on the way back home.
04:46I think the world's on the way back home.
04:50I put the lights on a way back home
04:58I put the lights on a way back home
05:01I put the lights on a way back home
05:05Can't wait such doing results in the sky
05:11I feed for this crippled island
05:15In the turmoil of the times
05:18And I'll hold you in my heart till the day I die
05:22I put the lights on a way back home
05:28Everybody on the treadmill
05:30I put the lights on a way back home
05:34Someone is calling us on a street today
05:37Oh, just say
05:39That's it I hold down for
05:43I put the lights on a way back home
05:45I put the lights on a way back home
05:49I put the lights on a way back home
05:57I put the lights on a way back home
06:01I put the lights on a way back home
06:09Sam Fender there, tearing up Sefton Park in Liverpool
06:38for Radio 1's Big Weekend earlier this year
06:41and stand by Sunderland because it's coming your way in 2026.
06:46Next up, an artist who returned in a big way in 2025.
06:50Not only has Olivia Dean sold out her UK tour,
06:53including six dates at London's O2 next year,
06:56she's also become the first woman to ever have four singles
07:00in the top ten simultaneously.
07:02And here she is to tell us how it's been.
07:05Hi, Clara, it's me, Olivia Dean,
07:07and wow, what a year 2025 has been.
07:11If you'd have told me at the beginning of the year
07:13what the rest of the year would have been like,
07:14I would have said, no, don't believe you.
07:17Looks like we're making up for lost time.
07:20Not only did the album go to number one, which was ridiculous,
07:23but at the same time, Man I Need was also number one
07:26in the singles chart, so I did the double.
07:28I didn't even know the double was a thing.
07:30Probably one of the most surreal moments of my life,
07:33and, yeah, both of them look really nice
07:35next to each other next to my telly.
07:37It's easy to fall in love
07:41It's an album about love,
07:44and don't we all just want to love each other
07:46and be in love or love each other better?
07:49And, I don't know, I think it just touched people.
07:51We could be nice to each other
07:54Then I found out I was the first female solo artist in history,
07:58in history, to have four songs in the top ten at one time.
08:02My mum was actually the person that sent that to me and I texted her back and said,
08:06you need to get that fact-checked, because it's probably not true, so don't get excited.
08:10It's ridiculous, and I still don't believe it's true, but apparently it is.
08:13Can we save you?
08:15We're going to 2026, and I'm doing my first ever arena tour,
08:20and we're doing six nights of the O2, which are all sold out,
08:23and a lot of work to do before then, but it's going to be great.
08:27It's definitely all still very pinch-me,
08:30and I think it's going to be an incredible year next year.
08:34And now here's me playing Man I Need earlier on in the year.
08:37Roll the clip.
08:39Talk to me, talk to me
08:41Talk to me, talk to me
08:45Looks like we're making up for lost time
08:51Need you to spell it out for me
08:55Washing over on all night
08:59It's like a type of alchemy
09:02Introduce me to your best friend
09:07I couldn't stop riding
09:10A satellite ain't even that far
09:15I kind of wonder where you are
09:19Already know I can't leave it alone
09:22You're all mine
09:25And I already gave you the time and the place
09:30Your love to be shy
09:32Just come be the man I need
09:35Tell me you got something to give
09:37I want it
09:39I kind of like it when you call me wonderful
09:43Whatever the type of talking is
09:45Come on then
09:47I gotta know you're meant to be the man I need
09:51Talk to me
09:52Talk to me
09:54Talk to me, talk to me
09:56Be the man that I need, baby
09:58Talk to me, talk to me
10:00Be the man that I need, need, need
10:02Talk to me, talk to me
10:04Be the man that I need, baby
10:06Talk to me, talk to me
10:08Be the man, man, man, man, man, man
10:11I'd like to think you feel the same way
10:15But I can't tell with you sometimes
10:19So baby, let's get on the same page
10:23Stop making me read between the lines
10:27Already know I can't leave it alone
10:30Oh my, and I already gave you the time and the place
10:38So don't be shy, just come be the man I need
10:43Tell me you got something to give, I want it
10:47I kinda like it when you call me wonderful
10:50Whatever the type of talk you is, come on, man
10:55I gotta know you're meant to be the man I need
10:59Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me
11:04Talk to me, talk to me, be the man that I need
11:10Talk to me, talk to me, be the man that I need
11:14Talk to me, talk to me, be the man that I need
11:18Talk to me, talk to me, be the man, man, man, man, man
11:23The glorious Olivia Dean with her chart smash,
11:47Man I Need, from her number one album, The Art of Loving.
11:50And don't forget, she'll be joining Jules Holland
11:52for his annual Hootenanny to see in the new year on BBC Two tonight.
11:57No doubt Olivia is a future festival headliner
12:00and this year we saw even more brilliant women
12:04headlining festivals across the UK.
12:06So right now, here are some of those winning women.
12:11With applied pressure from these women
12:14and their loyal fans the world over,
12:17many festivals went on to proudly book
12:19some of the world's most successful female artists to headline.
12:22Go on and on, it's a phenomenon.
12:24Well good for you, you're doing great out there without...
12:28Leading the charge, global megastar Olivia Rodrigo
12:31set a new record by headlining a total of 18 festivals around the globe.
12:36And it doesn't get much bigger than Glastonbury.
12:40At just 22 years old, the pop juggernaut became the Sunday Night Pyramid stage headliner.
12:47I wanna get hurt
12:49Backed by an all-female and non-binary band,
12:57Olivia delivered a killer set with an unexpected special guest
13:01in the form of The Cure's Robert Smith.
13:11Over on the other stage on Saturday nights,
13:13Charlie XCX literally set the stage alight with her headline set.
13:17After taking the world by storm with Brat Summer last year and cleaning up the Brits,
13:23it was one of the most anticipated sets of the weekend.
13:27In an incredible one-woman show,
13:29Charlie transformed the Glastonbury Fields into a sweat-drenched, laser-lit nightclub.
13:34At the same time, on West Holt's stage,
13:47rap icon Dolce delivered a masterclass headline set of her own.
13:51Welcome to Dolce's School of Hip-Hop!
13:54I've been wrestling with my piece and that's the irony
13:57I'm a dying sunflower, leaving the dread love seat
13:59In the A-1-3, Glastonbury Scream!
14:02Hands up! Hands up! Hands up! Hands up! Hands up! Hands up!
14:07No chip on my shoulder!
14:10What you say?
14:12But it didn't stop at Glastonbury,
14:14other festivals elsewhere were also making room for women in the top spots.
14:20Isle of Wight's wet leg made their mark when they topped the bill at Green Man Festival.
14:25U.S. pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter took on Barcelona's Primavera Sound and BST Hyde Park.
14:46You guys sold out two nights, 65,000 people at Hyde Park.
14:51Our very own Ray delivered true escapism at London's Victoria Park.
14:58We are headlining all points east, which is very exciting.
15:04And to round off the summer, Midwest princess Chapel Rhone continued to ride her unstoppable high
15:10when she headlined Reading and Leeds Festival, bringing her euphoric fairy tale to life.
15:15So get ready to saddle up as we look back on Chapel's unforgettable performance of Hot To Go.
15:21We're going to spell Hot To Go with our arms.
15:28Watch me.
15:30Ready?
15:32H-O-T-T-O-G-O
15:36You can take me hot to go
15:40H-O-T-T-O-G-O
15:44You can take me hot to go
15:48H-O-T-O-G-O
15:49H-O-T-O-G-O
15:51H-O-T-O-G-O
15:52H-O-T-O-G-O
15:53Six!
15:54H-O-T-O-G-O
15:55Six!
15:56H-O-T-O-G-O
15:57H-O-T-O-G-O
15:58I could be the one with your new addiction
16:15It's up in my head but I want non-fiction
16:18I don't want the world that'll take this city
16:22Who can make my girl come behind not pretty
16:25Baby, make you like this beat
16:28I made it say and dance with me
16:31It's like a 199 degrees
16:34Now they're doing it with me, doing it with me
16:39H-O-T-T-O-G-O
16:41Snap and clap and touch your toes
16:42Raise your hands on body roll
16:44Rinse it off, you're hot to go
16:46H-O-T-T-O-G-O
16:48Clap and clap and touch your toes
16:49Raise your hands on body roll
16:51H-O-T-T-O-G-O
16:53H-O-T-T-O-G-O
16:56You're gonna take me high to go
17:00H-O-T-T-O-G-O
17:03You're gonna take me high to go
17:07I woke up alone staring at my city
17:10I try not to care
17:11I'm not my baby
17:13You don't have to say
17:15Come here, get up with it
17:17No, what's just been there in a damn heart
17:20I'm not my baby, don't you like this beat
17:23I'm not my baby
17:24I'm not my baby
17:25I'm not my baby
17:26I'm not my baby
17:27I'm not my baby
17:28I'm not my baby
17:29It's like a 199 degrees
17:30Now they're doing it with me, doing it with me
17:34H-O-T-T-O-G-O
17:35Snap and clap and touch your toes
17:37Raise your hands on body roll
17:38Dance it off, you're hot to go
17:40H-O-T-T-O-G-O
17:42Snap and clap and touch your toes
17:44Raise your hands on body roll
17:45H-O-T-T-O-G-O
17:47H-O-T-T-O-G-O
17:51You can't train me hard to go
17:54H-O-T-T-O-G-O
17:57You can't train me hard to go
18:01Change against your number
18:03We say to bring you home
18:04Hurry up, it's time to suffer
18:06Hurry up, I'm hard to go
18:08Change against your number
18:10Hurry up, it's getting cold
18:11Hurry up, it's time to suffer
18:13Hurry up, I'm hard to go
18:16One more time.
18:27One more time.
18:41One more time.
18:46A jubilant mass sing-along at Reading Festival this summer, led by the
19:16Midwest princess, Chapel Roan.
19:18Coming up later in the show, in true Top of the Pots fashion, we'll be finding out the
19:22top ten biggest songs of 2025, and one of the artists behind one of those songs is
19:27our next guest.
19:29US star Raven Lanay broke through this year with her chart smash Love Me Not, and here
19:34she is to tell us how 2025 has been for her.
19:37Hi, Raven.
19:38Hi, Clara.
19:39It's Raven Lanay, and I'm here in one of my favorite cities in the world, London, about
19:44to play Roundhouse for the very first time.
19:46I'm so excited.
19:47My 2025 has been probably one of the most transformative years of my life.
19:52I've learned so much about myself as an artist, as a woman, as a friend, but also being able
20:00to experience such highs in my career that I've been working for a long time has been
20:05really rewarding, so it's been good.
20:08Having one of the biggest songs of 2025 feels surreal for me, only because I remember when
20:19I first made the song and we finished it, and me and my team, we knew that there was
20:24something so special about it.
20:26I think the most interesting comment I get about Love Me Not is that it feels like it
20:30can be from any decade, and I think that marks a truly generational song.
20:36This year has been really validating for me because there's been a lot of moments in my
20:40journey where I might have doubted or been confused about, you know, my timing, or if
20:46there was space for me in music.
20:48So this was kind of the okay of I'm on the right path, I'm doing the right thing, and
20:53some things just take time.
20:59This tour has been so beautiful for me, one, because my mom has come to almost every
21:03city with me, so it's been nice having her company, but also being able to relive these
21:08songs and make new memories around them with new fans.
21:12This summer I got to sing Love Me Not for Radio One's Live Lounge.
21:16Please enjoy.
21:17See right now, I need you, I'll meet you somewhere now.
21:23You up now, I see you, I get you to care now.
21:27Slow down, be cool, I'll miss you.
21:30Come here now, it's yours now.
21:33Keep it, I'll hold out until now.
21:36I need you right now, once I leave you I'm strung out.
21:40If I get you, I'm slowly breaking down.
21:44And oh, it's hard to see you, but I wish you were right here.
21:48Oh, it's hard to leave you when I get you everywhere.
21:53All this time I'm thinking we could never be a pair.
21:57Oh, no, I don't need you, but I miss you.
22:00Come here.
22:01And oh, it's hard to see you when I wish you were right here.
22:05Oh, it's hard to leave you when I get you everywhere.
22:09All this time I'm thinking I'm strong enough to sink it.
22:14Oh, no, I don't need you, but I miss you.
22:17Come here.
22:18He love me not, he loves me.
22:20He holds me tight, that lets me go.
22:22He love me not, he loves me.
22:24He holds me tight, that lets me go.
22:27Soon as you leave me, we always lose connection.
22:31It's getting messy, a fiend for your affection.
22:36Don't loosen your grip, gotta hold on me.
22:39Now forever, let's get back together.
22:44Lord, take it so far away.
22:49I pray to God we don't break.
22:53I want you to take me up and down and round and round again.
23:00You know it's hard to see you, but I wish you were right here.
23:05Oh, it's hard to leave you when I get you everywhere.
23:09All this time I'm thinking we could never be a pair.
23:13Oh, no, I don't need you.
23:15I want you to be here.
23:17And oh, it's hard to see you when I wish you were right here.
23:21Oh, it's hard to leave you.
23:23Oh, it's hard to leave you when I get you everywhere.
23:25Oh, all this time I'm thinking I'm strong enough to sink it.
23:29Oh, no, I don't need you, but I wish you were right here.
23:34He loves me not, he loves me, he holds me tight and lets me go.
23:51You're gonna say that you're sorry at the end of the night.
23:56Wake up in the morning, everything's alright.
24:00At the end of a story, you're holding me tight
24:05I don't need to worry, am I out of my mind?
24:11I'm losing my mind
24:14All this time I'm thinking I'm strong enough to sink it
24:20Oh no, I don't need you, but I wish you'd call me
24:24He love me not, he loves me
24:27He holds me tight, then lets me go
24:29Love me not, he loves me
24:31He holds me tight, then lets me go
24:34Raven Lanay with Love Me Not from Radio 1's Live Lounge back in September.
24:41Now it's time to say hello to a true treasure
24:43who's performed on Top of the Pops many a time
24:46and has even been a previous host.
24:48I'm talking about Jarvis Cocker.
24:51It's been a big year for Pulp, so let's hear more from the man himself.
24:55Hello, Clara. Jarvis here.
24:57My 2025 has been amazing.
25:01It seems to have lasted about the same length as about four years,
25:04not because it's been boring, but just because a lot of things have happened.
25:08If I had to sum it up in one sentence, I would say 2025, we came alive.
25:14Do you remember the first one?
25:17We'd been away for 24 years, so people might just have forgotten about us.
25:22Let's all meet up in the year 2000.
25:26There were some anniversaries, like for instance, it was 30 years since we'd played at Blaston before.
25:31It was 30 years since different class came out.
25:33It was 30 years since Common People was a hit, so it seemed a bit silly to ignore them.
25:40We'd been playing concerts and we'd played a couple of new songs and we just thought,
25:46let's see how many we could write and could we make a record.
25:55Once we'd done the record, I was really happy with it.
25:58And then I did have a couple of weeks where I thought, maybe we shouldn't release it
26:02and just keep it as like, that was a nice thing for us to do as a band, to show that we could do it.
26:08But however, the record company had paid for us to record it, so we had to release it.
26:13When it came out and people did take notice of it and it got a good perception
26:16and it went to number one and everything, it was a great feeling.
26:20It really was.
26:21We got given the number one award and then I kept showing it in the concert.
26:25You could tell that I was quite pleased.
26:28The Albert Moore is number one.
26:30We had thought about playing Glastonbury, but when we asked them, they said,
26:35oh, well, you know, we've booked everybody, sorry, there's not a slot for you.
26:38Any chance you'll be doing Glastonbury?
26:40I'll be going to Glastonbury and I might DJ.
26:43But what about if one of the headliners drop out again like they did in 1995?
26:48I don't think that's going to happen.
26:49No, but it might. Imagine a while where it did, Jarvis, would you step up?
26:53If it was a life or death situation, but I really don't think it's going to happen.
26:57And then maybe two months before, they said, well, we have got this secret slot that we do.
27:04They said you could do that on Saturday, but not under our name.
27:07We were secretly listed as patchwork, which some people caught on to that
27:12because Candida had mentioned in an interview that she liked doing patchwork.
27:16To go back after 30 years made me a bit nervous, but I was very excited about it
27:32and it seemed kind of poetic that, you know, the circle had been completed.
27:37Comparing the Pyramid Stage 2025 to the Pyramid Stage 1995,
27:46the main thing was I could actually see people this time because we were playing in the day.
27:52You know, when we played in 1995, you were aware there were a lot of people,
27:56but you couldn't really see them.
27:57It was just an idea, a sound when they sang along.
28:01I could really see everybody.
28:03I could see the crowd stretch quite a long way.
28:05And then there was the kind of crazy thing, the climax of Common People,
28:09the red arrows flew over, which was a complete, I can just say it's categorically now,
28:14we had not arranged that.
28:16Dance and drink and screw
28:19Things like that made it a very special concert.
28:27You're about to see Pulp play on Jules Holland,
28:31and you know how they have everybody in a circle on the latest set,
28:34so we were there, the hives were opposite.
28:37I was thinking, don't attack me.
28:40And we played Spike Island.
28:49Something stopped me, dead in my tracks
28:55I was headed for disaster, then I turned back
28:59I was wrestling with a coat hanger, can you guess who won't?
29:03The universe shrugged, shrugged and moved on
29:07It's a guess, no idea
29:11It's a feeling
29:14Not a voice
29:17In my head
29:19Just a feeling
29:23And by the way
29:25This may can look
29:31On my life
29:32And by the way
29:34This time I'll get it right
29:40Oh
29:41Not a shaman
29:51Or a showman
29:52Ashamed
29:53I was selling the rights
29:54I took a breather
29:55Decided not to ruin my life
29:58I was conforming to a cosmic design
30:01I was playing to time
30:02Until I walked back to the garden
30:05Of earthly delights
30:07I was born
30:08To perform
30:10It's a calling
30:14I exist
30:16I exist
30:16To do this
30:19Shouting and pointing
30:22And by the way
30:25This may came and come alive
30:32And by the way
30:33This time I'll get it right
30:40Oh
30:41No one will ever understand it
30:45And no one can ever have the last word
30:49Because it's not something
30:51Because it's not something
30:51You could ever say
30:52So swivel
30:55It's a guess
30:59No idea
31:01It's a feeling
31:05Not a voice
31:08In my head
31:10Just a feeling
31:13And by the way
31:15And by the way
31:16And by the way
31:18It's a feeling
31:20It's a feeling
31:20Come alive
31:22And by the way
31:24All this time I'll get it right
31:31Yeah
31:31And by the way
31:33It's a feeling
31:37Can you come alive
31:39And by the way
31:41And by the way
31:44Well this time I'll get it right
31:47Oh
31:49Oh
31:51Oh
31:53Oh
31:55Oh
31:57Oh
32:01Oh
32:03Oh
32:05Oh
32:06Oh
32:32Excellent to see Pulf back in action this year with Spike Island
32:36from their chart-topping eighth album, More.
32:392025 saw lots of other artists making a return
32:42with the most anticipated reunion
32:44that nobody thought would happen ever.
32:47The Gallagher brothers,
32:48they finally took to the stage together once again,
32:50but the reunions and the returns didn't stop there.
32:562025 gave us some of the biggest and best returns in music
33:01and wow, did it deliver.
33:03After 16 long years, the great wait was finally over.
33:10Oasis were officially back.
33:12Following years of will they, won't they...
33:14Obviously, I missed being in a band and being with my brother and all that.
33:17It happens, it happens. If it don't, it don't.
33:19The Gallagher brothers finally confirmed
33:21the much-anticipated reunion tour.
33:24And with more than 14 million fans trying to buy tickets,
33:28the world went mad for it.
33:30Walking out hand-in-hand,
33:31the Britpop giants kicked things off in summer
33:34and have since stormed their way across the UK
33:37and across the globe.
33:39As for what's next, well, Noel is rumoured to be writing new Oasis songs
33:53and a return to Nedworth is said to be on the cards.
33:56But one thing that is for certain,
33:58Oasis and their music will certainly live forever.
34:02We do another, we live forever
34:05From one 90s heavyweight to another.
34:10After rehearsing just for the hell of it last year,
34:13Radiohead burst back onto the scene for their first live shows since 2018.
34:18Pulling from an impressive catalogue across four decades,
34:22Radiohead took a busking attitude to their setlist,
34:25playing any song, in any order, at any time.
34:28But with plans for 2026 still unknown,
34:31let's hope there's more surprises to come.
34:33And speaking of surprises,
34:41in October, Lily Allen suddenly dropped her new album,
34:45West End Girl,
34:46just four days after announcing it.
34:52Wrapped in her signature sound and witty lyricism,
34:55the Deeply Personal album marked her first musical project in seven years.
35:00And 2026 will see her hit the road again
35:02for her biggest headline tour ever.
35:11Earlier this year, 90s boy band Five also revealed
35:15they'd be stepping back into the spotlight
35:16for the first time in 25 years.
35:20With all five original members reuniting,
35:24fans snapped up tickets
35:26and what started as a 12-day run
35:28quickly grew to 25.
35:31From boy bands to ballads now,
35:33as Lewis Capaldi made his heroic return to music this summer.
35:44Following an emotional performance at Glastonbury in 2023,
35:48Lewis took a break from music
35:49to focus on his health and well-being.
35:53After being away for two years,
35:55the singer-songwriter took on one of the surprise slots
35:57on the Pyramid stage,
35:59drawing in one of the biggest crowds of the weekend.
36:07The outpour of love and support that followed
36:10resulted in a sold-out UK tour.
36:13And while he prepares for a US leg in 2026,
36:15let's remind ourselves of his unbelievable performance.
36:20How long till it feels
36:22Like the world's finally starting to heal
36:27How long till it feels
36:32Like I'm more than a spoken new year
36:36Most nights I feel
36:41That I'm not enough
36:43I've had my share of Monday mornings
36:46When I can't get in
36:48So where hope is lost
36:51And I come undone
36:53I swear to God he'll survive
36:58If it kills me soon
37:03I'm gonna get up and try
37:08If it's the last thing I do
37:13I've still got something to give
37:18Though it hurts sometimes
37:23I'm gonna get up and try
37:25I'm gonna get up and leave
37:28Until the day that I die
37:33I swear to God I'll survive
37:38How long till you know
37:44That in truth you don't ever feel
37:48How far will you go
37:54To give back to the place you belong
37:59Most nights I feel
38:03That I'm not enough
38:06But I refuse to spend my best
38:09She's rotting in the sun
38:11So where hope is lost
38:13And I come undone
38:16I swear to God he'll survive
38:21If it kills me soon
38:26I'm gonna get up and try
38:31If it's the last thing I do
38:36I've still got something to give
38:41Though it hurts sometimes
38:45I'm gonna get up and leave
38:51Until the day that I die
38:56I swear to God I'll survive
39:00I swear to God I'll survive
39:07I swear to God I'll survive
39:13I swear to God I'll survive
39:19If it kills me soon
39:23I'm gonna get up and try
39:28If it's the last thing I do
39:35I've still got something to give
39:40Though it hurts sometimes
39:43I'm gonna get up and leave
39:49Until the day that I die
39:53I swear to God I'll survive
39:57I swear to God I'll survive
40:04The triumphant return of Lewis Capaldi
40:07to a warm and welcoming worthy farm
40:10at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
40:12Now, someone else who broke through this year
40:14is a South London artist with an incredible voice, Lola Young.
40:18Lola performed at the BRIT Awards at the beginning of the year
40:21and released her album in September
40:23but announced soon after that she'd be taking a break from music.
40:26We send Lola all our love
40:28and thought we'd go back to May of this year
40:30to Radio One's Big Weekend in Liverpool
40:33where she performs her massive hit Messi to a huge crowd.
40:36I love the fact that everyone's getting on everyone's shoulders.
40:50That's a beautiful thing. Look at that!
40:53You know I'm impatient
41:00So why would you leave me waiting outside the station
41:03When it was like minus four degrees
41:05and I get what you're saying
41:08I just really don't wanna hear it right now
41:11Could you look for like once in your life?
41:14And listen to me
41:16I took your nice words of advice
41:18about how you think I'm gonna die lucky if I turn 33?
41:21Okay, so yeah, smoke like a chimney
41:23I'm not skinny and I pull a Britney
41:25Every other week
41:27But come me some slap
41:29Who do you want?
41:30See it!
41:31You told me you had a job
41:37Then you ask where the hell I've been
41:39And I'm too perfect
41:41Till I open my big mouth
41:44I want to be me
41:46Is that not allowed?
41:48And I'm too clever
41:50And then I'm too goddamn dumb
41:52You hate it when I cry
41:54Unless it's that time of the month
41:56And I'm too perfect
41:58Till I show you that I'm not
42:00A thousand people I could be for you
42:03And you hate the whole damn lot
42:06You hate the whole damn lot
42:11You hate the whole damn lot
42:16You hate, you hate
42:22It's taking you ages
42:24You still don't get
42:25And I'm not asking for pages
42:27One, two would be nice
42:29And please don't pull those faces
42:32When I've been out working
42:34While also full day
42:35It's just one bottle of wine or tea
42:37But hey, you can't even talk
42:40You smoke just to help you sleep
42:42And while you're out getting stoned
42:43And four o'clock
42:44And then you're going to eat
42:46And don't stand in love
42:48Cause I got high again
42:50And forgot to fold my clothes
42:54Cause I'm too messy
42:57And then I'm too broken
42:59You told me you had a job
43:01And you asked where the hell I've been
43:04And I'm too perfect
43:06Till I open my big mouth
43:08I want to be me
43:10Is that not allowed?
43:12And I'm too clever
43:14And then I'm too goddamn dumb
43:16You hate it when I cry
43:18Unless it's that time of the month
43:20And I'm too perfect
43:22Till I show you that I'm not
43:24A thousand people I could be for you
43:27And you hate the whole damn lot
43:31You hate the whole damn lot
43:35You hate the whole damn lot
43:39You hate, you hate
43:41You hate
43:49This is my band everybody

44:04And then I'm too goddamn clean
44:06You told me I left a job
44:08And you asked where the lies
44:10And I'm too perfect
44:12And I'm too perfect
44:13Till I open my big mouth
44:15I want to
44:16Say it
44:17Say it
44:18Say it out loud
44:19And I'm too clever
44:21And then I'm too goddamn dumb
44:23And I'm too goddamn dumb
44:24You gotta cry
44:25And next is that time of the month
44:28And I'm too perfect
44:29Till I show you that I've got
44:31A thousand people looking at me for you
44:34And you hate the whole damn lot
44:36You hate the whole damn lot
44:39You hate the whole damn town
44:43You hate the whole damnStart
44:49And I'm tooίναι a blast
44:53The brilliant Lola Young from Radio 1's Big Weekend in Liverpool's Sefton Park.
45:05Now, 2025 has seen the charts dominated by the pop girlies,
45:09with the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Chapel Roan claiming spots in either the singles or albums top ten.
45:16But it was Taylor Swift who swooped in at the last minute back in October
45:19to claim the biggest selling album of the year with The Life of a Showgirl.
45:24So in classic Top of the Pops fashion, it's time to find out who are the top ten biggest selling songs of the year.
45:32Kicking things off at tens, it's pure pop power as Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars join forces for Die With A Smile.
45:41Come be the man I need
45:45At nine, it's record-breaking Olivia Dean with her first-ever number one, Man I Need.
45:53And always hard to say, but I wish you were right here

46:17At six, pop star Gracie Abrams made her Glastonbury debut this year
46:22and earned her first UK number one with That's So True.

46:35Teaming up once again, Bruno Mars joins Blackpink's Rosé for their viral hit, APT.
