Underwood dated NFL player Tony Romo for a brief time back in 2007, so when her song Cowboy

Casanova came out, audiences were curious if the tune was secretly for Romo.

But in a 2009 interview with Esquire, Underwood was clear that her track was not for Romo,

Following their split, Romo began dating Jessica Simpson, so things got a bit heated when Underwood
