43:44here's the short version
43:46my parents were both junior hockey coaches
43:50and
43:52they were hit by a drunk driver
43:54when I was 12 years old
43:55mercifully for them
43:58they died instantly
43:59mercifully for me
44:01the St. Thomas scholarships existed
44:04I didn't have anybody else to help me
44:09I had a lot of memories
44:12a love of hockey
44:13and
44:14a huge hole in my heart
44:16St. Thomas filled it with hope
44:19the hope
44:21of a new family
44:22things
44:23things weren't always easy
44:25you know
44:26they never are
44:26for anybody
44:27but
44:27in hockey
44:30I found what I was missing
44:31first at my high school
44:34then later at college
44:35and now here
44:36with the admirals
44:36and I never looked back
44:39because I
44:40I never had to
44:41the family
44:45I craved
44:46the family that I needed
44:47that
44:47that I still need today
44:49hockey gave it to me
44:52and St. Thomas gave me hockey
44:55so from the bottom of my heart
