00:07and daughter of Caroline Kennedy, has passed away at the age of 35.
00:12Schlossberg wrote movingly about her terminal cancer diagnosis
00:15in an essay for The New Yorker last month,
00:18where she detailed how doctors discovered her acute myeloid leukemia
00:22shortly after she gave birth to her young daughter in 2024.
00:26She wrote, quote,
00:27For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter
00:33and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry.
00:37Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family's life,
00:41and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
00:44Schlossberg's passing is the latest in a string of tragedies for the Kennedy family,
00:48including the assassinations of her grandfather and her great uncle, Robert F. Kennedy,
00:53and then decades later, the death of her uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr. in a small plane crash.
00:59Schlossberg spent her life writing about the environment,
01:02and she is survived by her husband and two young children.
