00:00Crops in parts of Pawai, Atok, Binguet were once again covered in frost or andap yesterday.
00:06This as the northeast monsoon brought the temperature down to a low of 7 degrees Celsius.
00:12While local farmers are largely unaffected, having adapted over the years to plant frost-resistant crops only like carrots and potatoes,
00:21the cold weather has unexpectedly spurred a tourism boom.
00:25The municipality is now receiving 1,000 to 2,500 tourists daily during the holiday season.
00:32Councilor Edward Haidt acknowledged that this influx has resulted in parking shortages and significant traffic congestion in their areas,
00:42stating that local officials are coordinating with the Department of Public Works and Highways
00:46to establish designated loading and unloading zones to manage the issue.
