00:00How did I get in a character for Andrew Winchester?

00:03I wore a lot of turtlenecks, a lot of tight sweaters.

00:08I thought about my relationship with my mother.

00:12I read the book, read the script.

00:17I mean, that character is so rich in the book, honestly.

00:22And there's so much in that book that you could draw from.

00:27And, yeah, it wasn't terribly difficult to find him, honestly.

00:35Paul is like the most engaging director in terms of his enthusiasm for the process.

00:44And he's a very, because he comes from a comedy background.

00:47So he's just very inclusive in terms of the best idea wins.

00:51And he's open to improvisation and sort of adapting things in the day.

00:56And, you know, if I would have an idea for something, and he was like, oh, it's a great idea.

01:03And he's just super enthusiastic and jazzed up.

01:05So creatively, it's just the best juice to get your stuff out and to, you know, just come up with things in the moment.

01:15Because oftentimes, it's where you get the best stuff that's not in the script.

01:18So, yeah, he was instrumental in that.

01:22As soon as I got one of this, I read the book, and I just breezed through it.

01:26It was such a fast read.

01:28And it's not like a genre I typically engage with.

01:31So, but it hooked me big time.

01:34Yeah.

01:35It sucks you in, and it's thrilling.

01:38It's sexy.

01:38It's suspenseful.

01:40It's, like, shocking.

01:43Yeah.

01:43And then when I read the script, I just thought they did such a brilliant job adapting the book and staying true to it.

01:49It's such a hard, you know, it's such a hard thing to adapt a book.

01:54And I just thought they did a bang-up job with it.

01:57Yeah.

01:58I mean, it was pretty easy.

01:59They're both just great actors.

02:01And Paul is a great director, and he gave us a lot of room to play, and he just creates such a safe environment on set.

02:10He's so generous and kind, and he doesn't take it.

02:14He's not too precious with anything.

02:15So, it was kind of just the best playground creatively, just between them and Paul and the dynamic.

02:21Yeah, it was ideal.

02:23First time I walked into that house, it was exactly as I imagined it, like, to a T, which was, they just did a brilliant job with it.

02:30The exterior of the house, the interior of the house.

02:33Yeah, it always helps when you're trying to, especially slipping into something that is so far from you, you know?

02:40Like, there's nothing in common with Andrew Winchester whatsoever.

02:45So, it may have definitely helped that they built that world out so well.

02:52I would expect suspense, a thrill ride for sure, and I'd expect to be shocked.

02:59It's definitely shocking.

03:02I mean, it's just a good movie to get people together and go see.

03:07It's, uh, holidays is a good time because people are together, they're not working as much.

03:10You have families together and couples together, hopefully.

03:13And, um, it's a great date movie, you know?

03:17It's, um, yeah, it's just a good movie to see in a collective experience.

03:22Because it's so engaging with the audience, I feel like.

03:26I'd say get all your popcorn and your drinks ahead of time so you don't want to miss anything.

03:31Yeah.

03:32Yeah.

03:32Because the turns happen fast.
