01:05yet see your second fantastic film which is going to release at during Diwali fingers crossed but
01:10another thing that has happened in your life that big event that has transpired in your life is your
01:14big wedding that happened two years ago now has it been two years yes and I thought it would change
01:19you uh I'll tell you later what I think has happened to you but has it really changed you
01:23um has it no I'm asking you what you think has it made you softer yeah I think I don't think it has
01:30made me calmer for sure but yes it's given me a bit of perspective in life and uh I do enjoy staying
01:37at home a lot more now yes you have someone to come home to yeah and I like being around the house
01:43and doing homely things and not just being on set so much okay but uh no I don't think I still
01:49enjoyed making my second movie a little more than I enjoyed making my first one and I wasn't married
01:54then oh you weren't married then yes of course no but what I have noticed definitely is that suddenly
01:58the farah that screams and shouts on set and has the funniest things to say on her mic suddenly when
02:03the phone rings and it says hubby or it says what does it say by the way I can't tell you that it's
02:07very funny what does it say please it says shohar it says shohar you're blushing while even saying it
02:14I can't believe you I'm very corny I know yeah but you but it it took a while for you to get romantic
02:19I think but anyways yeah I tried with you for many years but with us you know you know there was never
02:24any future I just turned you down on every day there wasn't ever a present also but I remember I still
02:31remember the funniest story that ever transpired between you and me was in Scotland when we were
02:35shooting for Kuch Kuch Hota and one night at four o'clock in the morning you came banging on the
02:40door please tell everyone what happened yeah I came banging on Karan's door at I think three in the
02:44morning and I was like Karan there's a ghost in my room who's trying to make love to me no the ghost
02:49was rolling on top of me what rubbish farah that doesn't happen how can a ghost come on top of you
02:53Karan I felt the ghost on top of me and then I said as soon as this ghost rolls off I will rush out of
03:00this room and I've run to your room and then I stayed there for the next two three nights yes
03:06two three nights and then no one rolled on top of me ever again you mean you were quite happy with
03:12the ghost I should have gone back to that room and what was funny was not you coming because a ghost
03:17was trying to roll you at at all of 35 I don't know how old you were then were wearing a Mickey Mouse
03:23pyjama suit there were not Mickey mother dolphins no one was supposed to see me in those pyjamas I
03:30completely support this whole youth fixation but uh youth brings me to how old are you farah
03:34uh much older than you I know but you want to reveal your age or are you going to behave like
03:38I'm 42 you're 42 and I'm good looking 42 darling at 42 and you have this big movie that you're making
03:46now yeah and what is amazing about you and we discussed this many many years ago is that
03:50you know women directors are associated with very boring art house films and who are trying
03:55of course not all of them most of them uh but they've made films that run at festivals but you
04:00kind of broke that myth coming up with a super commercial mayhuna which was a big big big hit
04:05and today om shantiyom is being discussed as one of the most commercial projects of 2007
04:10and a potential blockbuster with huge making and everything how does it feel that you know
04:15you have this big blockbuster in the waiting obviously it feels very very good and I think
04:21I never felt I never felt I was a woman so I had to I mean I don't think like a woman
04:27yeah oh sorry I don't know what they're supposed to think like but I just think like myself and I love
04:32these big uh Bollywood movies and since childhood we've been I mean we've all grown up on that yeah
04:38and I think Shah Rukh is the ultimate commercial hero because he's a superstar and I just want to
04:44present him uh like that so no arty stuff for me no no no obviously not and also I I went when I go
04:50in and I pay the 300 bucks you know I want to just have a really good time you want to get that
04:55yeah I want to have a real good time I want to go back again yeah and again so I try to do that
05:00that that's that's like a concentrated effort but great so your film is releasing November 9th
05:06November 9th and you're launching a new girl we'll talk about that later of course but and of course
05:11Shah Rukh is almost like a new boy in this film yes I know we should see he's got a completely new look
05:16and yes and he's totally in shape and he's got a new look he's building ripping his muscles and
05:21I'm going to he's going to be the item boy of this really of this new rocking number we are going to be
05:26yes that's the disco it's a super track but before we talk more about Om Shanti Om let's call on the

08:06we thought maybe the second half uh when we show the character again he could be a little different
08:10longer hair and we have the reason because it's a film about films yeah but I what I was trying to
08:15get at is the film is basically two halves which all films have of course which is nothing new but
08:19the first half is another time zone yes and the second half is another time zone 70s and 2007 so
08:25did you kind of model yourself in the 70s on any one particular hero set of heroes uh not really I
08:31think uh the look and everything was decided by farah and uh she had uh references but I told him to act
08:37like really badly like 70s heroes full I mean so which sort of uh she's giving an excuse for why actors
08:44like badly when she's directing them okay but that was the brief given and then the second half is
08:49when you were playing like today's leading yeah he's like a spoiled like a spoiled star all right

10:02from uh the day the script is uh decided or thought out she starts getting hyper
10:09I mean uh but I'm not hyper during shooting uh she is and it's uh sometimes it's unbearable
10:16okay really what's the funniest thing she says on that mic she has that mic is like
10:22like literally everyone feels farah when she goes on that mic she says the strangest things on the
10:26mic no no funniest no I mean they're they're un uh sayable on a family show or not even even on a
10:32sex show they cannot be said that's not true she says galis she says hindi galis no sharuk I don't
10:37abuse at all during this film if I continue she will abuse right now this film I'm not abused at all
10:43it's become such a second nature she doesn't even know when she's abusing now no this movie I'm not
10:47sorry this movie I'm not abused but she does get tough with people and then she's very lovable
10:51and loving but there's a problem nobody ever has a problem with her because eventually it's farah

11:42that he doesn't do and I think somehow he knows I'm most hyper at that time so he won't
11:46pay to pick up your call I always I always pick up the phone when I'm needed I know you know
11:49that I mean I would never yeah no but I don't call Shah Rukh because I'm really really close
11:54to his secretary his wife yeah his wife she is me too I now have his cook's number we actually
11:58do you know why I befriended Gauri only for sir I could have easy access to Shah Rukh she doesn't
12:02know this actually but but you know there's one person who's taking badla for all of us what and
12:08that is Aryan who never picks up his phone whenever he calls up yeah Aryan says Papa I'm busy and he
12:14puts the phone down so Aryan doesn't pick up Shah Rukh's call at all yeah so like you're getting

12:22so this is divine retribution then yes actually with my son and daughter yeah they don't pick up

12:33observed talking to both of you that y'all are looking so nervous about Om Shanti ho
12:37which I was meaning that sarcastically I want to just say you have a big film releasing in
12:44November y'all don't look nervous at all because we haven't seen it ourselves yet we've not seen

32:05uh well in advance and uh yeah and everyone says he's a terrific co-star he always makes life fantastic
32:12to work with and he just asked me that in in the break he was saying please ask her

32:25once i was talking to dipika at your place and we were chatting about kuch kuchota my first film
32:30and she said yeah i loved it i saw it when i was 11 years old and i nearly died
32:35and that means that she was about eight when she saw dilwa lesha roger am i child molesting in this
32:42video i think i think did you ever feel strange that you were working with someone who's actually
32:46literally seen you as a child i think my first realization uh that i am doing a few silly things
32:53at my age is when i did the first scene i don't know if i told her or not but i was doing the scene
32:57with her where i'm professing my love to her in a secret way because i can't do it openly and there's this
33:01line when she turns away from me and just before that we were discussing how we would do the scene
33:05and i gave her a reference and i got to know she was seven or eight when she saw the valet and i'm
33:10behind her and i'm saying and i started feeling uh may i say the word uh little uh stalker
33:25little kamina but uh let me just tell you that the scene is sap he's done it superbly
33:32and he's done it superbly and but i i really did feel but did it feel special
33:40dipika that you're part of such a monstrous project literally i mean yes and you've almost
33:45come to the end of it and uh huh i thought karuna was saying you're part of such a monster
33:55i will talk about she was wonderful say i have my live meter how wonderful was she yes i've heard
34:01that i've i've i know of it but uh no i've i'm not prompting i had heard a lot of things about farah

34:18so unlike what i had heard what and then no and then sometimes even i wonder and then when we were
34:24shooting everyone said no now she's okay because this is her film but in the song she'll be worse
34:29but then when we did this song she was even nicer that's because i believe you're fantastic in
34:33she's a super dancer yeah so that makes half her job she was she's a fabulous dancer yeah but at
34:40times were there nervous moments acting with sharuk someone you've seen when you were eight or nine
34:44i mean literally i was standing in front of you a couple of times she said i love you uncle
34:50yeah because working with sharuk khan can be intimidating for anybody he never made me feel
34:55uncomfortable never ever this is difficult to make someone feel uncomfortable
34:59but you know how sharuk is yeah i'm sure he must must have been he was very he would sit with me
35:05before every scene and do my lines with me and we would rehearse uh he would come sometimes he didn't
35:11have to shoot on a particular day but he was still be there but he would come there for me and rehearse
35:16the whole thing with me and what was your reaction when you got the okay that yes you are the the lead
35:21actress in om shantyom or describe that moment she was very composed what i thought i thought
35:28she'd be jumping and screaming she was very composed she looks like she's very composed very poised and
35:33perfect always but what was your within saying the same thing that's happening to me right now okay
35:39but uh it was fantastic it's been a fantastic experience yeah and they've both of them have really taken
35:45very good care of me yeah and it's been a wonderful no no no show the well on your back

36:19didn't let me go blame him for it he always wants to play good cop so many years i wanted you to
36:26stay back at the party and learn the lines yeah right that's what we do at parties use that now okay
36:33all right you so you know only got started out only once but that's really fantastic for farah i mean
36:38i've been screamed at every film and every song farah screamed at me about 30 times yeah because
36:44karan you really irritate me during song he's very annoying he'll go on asking me stupid questions
36:50and i've already given you the short breakdown yeah but you know and then i'll tell him karan it's a
36:54white shot so this charuk will dance and whoever kajal will dance then he'll come i think it should be a
36:59white shot but i've just told you it's a white shot well i have that problem i do agree but
37:05basically i'm adorable to work with and you do know that we've already got the hamper we don't need
