Ukraine has launched another daring drone strike deep inside Russian territory — this time hitting the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region, a facility critical to Russia’s fuel supply and military logistics. Explosions lit up the night sky as 12 drones targeted both the refinery and a nearby power substation, triggering power outages and emergency protocols, including a flight suspension at Kurumoch airport.
Locals reported hearing multiple blasts followed by blackouts across several districts. The ELOU-AVT-5 unit, used in crude oil preparation and distillation, was reportedly damaged, along with potential hits to high-voltage equipment. This same refinery was previously hit in early December, and was still undergoing repairs when this second strike occurred.
With over 2 million tons of fuel produced annually, this refinery supplies not just civilian regions but reportedly supports Russia’s military operations. Ukraine’s message is clear — it’s targeting the heart of Russia’s energy infrastructure. WooGlobe Ref : WGA863452 For licensing and to use this video, please email licensing@wooglobe.com
