00:00folk tales and well-worn fishing nets, the Fantasy RV Maritimes Tour has
00:05already crossed two provinces rolling deep into Canada's Far East edge of the
00:11world. By this time RVers have traced the curves of the coast collecting
00:16memories like seashells along the way, but now the road comes to an end. The
00:22only way forward is across the water on a slow steel beast that abandons the
00:28mainland for the crown jewel of the North Atlantic. This isn't just another stop,
00:33this is where the trip becomes truly unforgettable. This is Newfoundland and
00:39from the moment the tires hit the island, there's no question that Fantasy has
00:45saved the best for last.
00:58So
01:05So, on the 34 day Maritimes tour, we touched the west coast of Newfoundland, Prince Edward
01:35Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and I get asked a lot, what's your favorite location
01:40on the tour?
01:41And it's hard.
01:42It's a difficult question to answer.
01:44The three provinces themselves, the three lower provinces are great.
01:48You know, you've got great lighthouse, you've got the most photographed lighthouse in the
01:52world or at least in North America in Peggy's Cove.
01:57And it's chock full of scenery and things to do.
02:00And then you take the ferry and you go to this little island, well big island, called Newfoundland.
02:05A trip to the Maritimes without Newfoundland is a great trip.
02:09But a trip to the Maritimes, including Newfoundland, is even better.
02:17Halfway through the journey, guests dive feet first into the captivating landscape of this
02:23weather-beaten rock.
02:25Wrapped in salty spray and soft drizzle, water in its various forms has profoundly shaped the
02:31climate and geography of this province, resulting in lush, mossy highlands and flowering meadows
02:38threaded with streams.
02:41Built on the rock that it rests on, Rose Blanche Lighthouse perfectly embodies the island's
02:46features, which are equally as rugged and isolated as the stone beacon itself.
02:51Having endured relentless winds and roaring waves, the long-standing granite structure perfectly
02:58echoes the spirit of this tough, timeless, and hauntingly beautiful place.
03:03Starting here, visitors feel the pulse of a land full of stories, ready to pull them into
03:10a world of century-old tales and settlements that stretch even further back through time.
03:16RVing across Newfoundland, travelers have the opportunity to witness how the scenery transforms
03:27with the past, shifting between eras from the age of lighthouse keepers one day to the looming
03:34legends of a Nordic encampment the next.
03:39Flipping through the island's epic historical archive, our well-versed fantasy tour has now
03:44reached the chapter of Vikings.
03:47I am a humble traveler!
03:49I am a humble traveler!

03:54Who stood on Viking land!
03:57And now when we finish feasting!
03:59And now when we finish feasting!
04:01Let me join your clans!
04:04Let me join your clans!
04:06Go!
04:07As the only authenticated Norse site in North America, guests can follow in the footsteps
04:17of Newfoundland's earliest explorers who, like them, were also drawn north by curiosity
04:23and a taste for the untamed.
04:26Here, attractions such as sod longhouses, blacksmithing workshops, traditional games, and Viking ship replicas
04:35truly bring history to life.
04:39The RVers is made possible by Jackery Solar Generator, your green power solution.
04:47Your dream RV trip awaits!
04:49Call Fantasy RV Tours today!
04:52The RVers is made possible by
04:54Now you see it!
04:58Now you don't!
05:00Segway!
05:11As the island's oldest storyteller, the sea is intrinsically linked to the identity of
05:17the province.
05:18And one of the best ways to appreciate its features is by boat.
05:23Today, RVers trade their wheels for sturdy wooden vessels, watching the land slowly fall
05:29away as the Atlantic takes over the narrative.
05:33Erin and Chris, once wide-eyed newbies, are now seasoned maritimers with their sights set
05:39on the water, listening intently to the excitement that hums just beneath the surface.
05:46So it's very pleasant so far, and I am watching out for puffs of smoke as instructed.
05:52That's how you can tell signs of a whale.
05:55So I'm keeping my scanner on for whale puffs.
05:58There's a puff right there!
06:02Whoa!
06:03Yay!
06:04Magnificent!
06:05Woo!
06:06Yeah!
06:07Oh my gosh!
06:10It was so cool!
06:11So the entire experience, you see the little puffs of breathing, and then you see the
06:21whale, and then you see the tail, and then you see the slap in the footprint, and it's
06:24all just such an experience.
06:26There!
06:27Right there!
06:28There!
06:29There!
06:30Oh!
06:31Yeah!
06:32Did you see that one?
06:34That was the best one!
06:36While group schedules and shared itineraries might deter some from joining an RV tour to
06:46begin with, it's the committed wagon masters and tail gunners that eventually turn many
06:51caravan skeptics into true believers.
06:54By packing personality and meticulous planning into every mile, it's no wonder fantasy wins
07:01over even the most adamant lone wolves, like Kurt and Linda, who were completely caught by
07:07surprise.
07:08I think since we've started, we've been independent travelers, and so, you know, making our own
07:13campground reservations, and charting our courses and all that, so this was different,
07:18and actually, it was actually kind of hard for us to sit there together and read the
07:22directions.
07:23It was funny.
07:28I think Linda ended up having more of a role in that than she normally does, so that was
07:33kind of fun for me.
07:35But there's things about it I never thought I would enjoy that I really did, and part of
07:39it is the social part of it, which is just kind of a natural social thing.
07:44It's not forced, so, you know, there's shared experiences about what you see on the road,
07:50and whether it's amazing beauty or some wildlife, or the road conditions, it's, I think back
07:56to the...
07:57Especially after 300 miles.
07:58Yeah, I think back to the orientation day, and you know, I know we were like, what
08:04I know we were like, whoa, this is a little overwhelming, but now it doesn't bother us
08:09at all, and Ed and Michelle are big personalities and big characters, and they're fun at keeping
08:16things moving, and Neil is such... Neil and Adele, the two of them, but Neil especially, he's
08:23so low-key, you know, he's just like, alright, it's gonna be fine, it's a bumpy road, but just
08:28take your dime, and you know, it's like...
08:30Be safe.
08:31Yeah, be safe.
08:33With a team that pays special attention to navigating both the map and the mood, trips
08:40with Fantasy aren't just about selecting the route, or showcasing the scenery, but equally
08:45about the moments of downtime after a long day on the road.
08:52And we've just got a little bowl of salad for everybody.
08:59I have really enjoyed the meals, the non-restaurant meals, but they've been really tasty, and it's
09:06been a nice way to get together, and it's, you know, not in a restaurant setting, you're
09:10in some place else, so I think that's really been a lot of fun, and I've really enjoyed
09:16the tour guides that they've had.
09:18They've just been fabulous.
09:20You know, fun personalities, and, you know, just full of information that you're...
09:27It's interesting listening to them, and that's such a huge benefit in terms of understanding
09:35the area that you're in.
09:37The RVers is made possible by...
09:40RV and Go.
09:42Where will you go?
09:46Escapees RV Club.
09:48A support network for all RVers.
09:50The RVers is made possible by...
09:53I found my place.
09:58And Master Applied Coatings.
10:02I don't know if you know what I mean, but my name is Alice.
10:12Who are you?
10:13So, you may wonder how Screech got his name.
10:17Well, that's what I'm going to tell you first of all.
10:19By Screech, Alice is referring to Newfoundland's notorious liquid handshake, a dark Jamaican rum
10:26with a bitter finish named after the sound you're likely to make when it first hits the throat.
10:31Since the early days, it's earned a reputation as the drink of choice for initiating a group of unsuspecting Mainlanders in the legendary Screech-In ceremony.
10:41Part rite of passage, part comedy show, the induction begins by repeating an oath with a thick regional accent.
10:51You won't know what you've said, but you'll be proud to have said it.
10:56Long way a big tip drop.
10:57Long way a big tip drop.
10:59Stay with your tip.
11:00Stay with your tip.
11:01Get where he's at.
11:02No!
11:04All right, Screech.
11:06I tried.
11:09Next, the fiddles fly and feet fumble their way through some kind of rhythm accompanied by hoots and cheers from the crowd.
11:19Then comes the slippery smooch.
11:41It's cold, it's fishy, and there's always photographic evidence.
11:46Schoolist.
11:47Whoa!
11:48Oh ho!
11:49Oh ho ho!
11:50Oh ho ho ho!
11:51And finally, a swig of screech seals the deal to the ultimate bragging rights, because finding
12:18yourself all the way in this remote, yet remarkable, part of the world is worth celebrating.
12:26If they had done the screeching thing at orientation night, it would have been a completely different
12:30situation.
12:31Or even sooner in the trip.
12:32Yeah, yeah.
12:33But it was just the right amount of time in that people were really comfortable with each
12:38other.
12:41And I think it was the right amount of time into the evening so that people had had a
12:47cocktail, and so when the festivities started and those yellow hats came out, and Dennis
12:57started with the repeat after me, which he couldn't, I mean, I don't, I couldn't understand
13:04anything.
13:05It was just, and I'm sure that was intentional, but I mean, I don't know, you'd be hard pressed
13:12to find 50 people that would get up there, put that silly yellow hat on.
13:16Kiss a fish.
13:17Do a jig.
13:18Right?
13:19Repeat some phrases, do a jig, kiss a fish, and...
13:22Knock back some rum.
13:23Knock back some rum.
13:24It was fabulous.
13:25It was, it was just a blast.
13:27That was a wild one.
13:29Yeah.
13:30Congratulations.
13:31Chris.
13:32I W Honorary Newfoundlander after Royal Order of Street Church.
13:37Aaron.
13:38I W Honorary Newfoundlander after Royal Order of Street Church.
13:42Aaron.
13:43I W Honorary Newfoundlander after Royal Order of Street Church.
13:48And just like that, Aaron and Chris have joined the best club on Canada's East Coast.
13:59But this membership isn't just about shots, fish, and funny accents.
14:04It's an unspoken welcome into a community that treats strangers like long-lost friends.
14:11As beautiful as it is, the brightest gems on this emerald rock are its people.
14:17Work with a joke and a helping hand in a place that thrives on providing visitors with
14:22plenty of smiles and stories that never get old.
14:28The Newfoundlanders are always good for a laugh.
14:30I've never seen a group of people that goes out of their way to help others.
14:35For example, just a few days ago, one of the guests on this tour wanted to go for a
14:42coffee, and we were in a little fishing village, and they thought they knew right where the
14:48store was.
14:49So they go up to what they thought was a coffee shop, and they're like, I would like
14:53to buy some coffee.
14:54And they were Newfoundlanders.
14:57This was their home.
14:59And they said, well, we don't sell coffee, but you're welcome to come on in, we'll make
15:04you some.
15:05So they came on in, they made coffee for them, they had, you know, they just got to
15:10know these local Newfoundlanders because they were looking for a coffee shop.
15:15And it's just, it is such an amazing part of the Maritimes.
15:19And the Maritimes is like that all throughout, the people are amazing.
15:22The RVers is made possible by RV and Go, where will you go?
15:33Your dream RV trip awaits.
15:36Call Fantasy RV Tours today.
15:38The RVers is made possible by, now you see it, now you don't.
15:46The Aviators, the world's biggest aviation series.
15:49With hearts still thumping from the previous wild ride, this picturesque breath of fresh
15:58air slows the pace with its charming storybook setting.
16:02A pocket-sized patchwork of rolling green pastures invites RVers to stroll along scenic streets,
16:10red sand beaches, and straight into the childhood imagination found in the bright cozy rooms and
16:16gardens of the home that inspired timeless books about a certain red-haired dreamer.
16:23This sweet finishing touch completes Fantasy's full spectrum of flavors along Canada's coastal buffet.
16:30And for Shelley and Mark, their first taste of the region is also one they would never have tried solo.
16:36I mean, we've gone in our RV now coast to coast, and we've been to a lot of other places with
16:44other kinds of travel.
16:47Neither one of us have been up here in the Canadian Maritimes.
16:51Because we would never have come here on our own.
16:55We would never, we didn't, and that's what Fantasy does so great, is they, they, they create a cultural
17:02experience for you, and you're still driving your RV, you don't have to, um, uh, make your reservation,
17:10they make it all.
17:12When you're on the Fantasy tour, it's like being on a cruise, but you have your own little place here,
17:17and you got your coffee pot, and, uh, is more, um, roughing it, but you're really not because
17:25someone's taking care of you all the time.
17:28Flawless organization is typically what RVers value most.
17:32Every campground, every excursion, and every unexpected surprise makes every day feel like
17:38a special occasion.
17:40From bus tours to heritage sites, musical performances, and cultural traditions,
17:46guests are given a glimpse into the heart of each province, capturing moments they would have
17:51likely missed otherwise.
17:54You could come here on your own, and never do those things.
17:59And that is the advantage, I think, of doing a tour like Fantasy Tours.
18:05I really do.
18:08While everyone enjoys a good, unpredictable twist, the team also knows that part of the
18:13magic isn't just in the unexpected.
18:16It's giving their guests exactly what they came for, moment after moment, meal after meal,
18:22time and time again.
18:25What I was looking forward to in-
18:27What?
18:30In coming here, frankly, if you live in the Midwest, and particularly in Kansas,
18:35it's the seafood.
18:37I was really looking forward.
18:38Oh, yeah, we were looking forward to that.
18:40And I think we've probably had some kind of seafood every night since we arrived in,
18:45you know, Bangor, Maine.
18:55Shelly, I think Mark's lobster is bigger than yours.
18:57I think it is, too.
18:58Yeah.
18:58I think we should try.
19:01With the taste of the coast still fresh, as the last maritime mile has traveled,
19:06the RVers now roll toward separate horizons, each one carrying with them a sense they've left
19:13something behind. And the truth is, they have.
19:17Bound by 34 days of winding seaside roads, historic harbors, and forested trails,
19:24this band of RVers have all left pieces of themselves somewhere along four breathtaking
19:30provinces. Fingerprints on the glass of tour bus windows, footprints in the silken sands at low tide,
19:38and with magnificent marine wildlife that pulled their hearts straight down into the Atlantic.
19:44But the exchange is never one-sided. In return, fantasy has given its participants a helpful nudge
19:51out of their comfort zone, a seat next to prospective close friends, a deeper understanding of the
19:56locations they've encountered, and exceptional memories that'll stay with them long after their
20:03next tour is booked.
20:33Okay.
20:39Thank you,
