00:00How did they bring Iron Man's armor to life? It wasn't as simple as it looks on screen.
00:04First, they had to capture every detail of Robert Downey Jr.'s body using plaster and
00:08silicone molds. Then, they created the armor from a plastic that could bend and adapt to
00:12the shape of the body. But the final touch was added in post-production. The actor wore
00:16a green suit underneath the plastic reinforcement so they could overlay the impressive computer
00:19generated effects, graphics that are still better than those in many films made over
00:22the past 20 years. That's why the 2008 Iron Man has better CGI than more recent projects.
00:27I love that first armor.
