00:00Today at the San Diego Zoo, we released two female maned wolves onto exhibit, and they're out exploring it now.
00:10The maned wolf is from South America, Brazil, Argentina area.
00:15They're South America's largest canid, so they're a pretty big dog.
00:20It's like a fox on stilts. They're pretty tall, they're really tall and leggy.
00:24They're a beautiful brown, they have some white on them, big ears to listen for their food.
00:29They're omnivores, they'll eat pretty much anything. They'll eat plants, they'll eat meat.
00:34So that works out really well for them, and they'll just rotate those ears around and just listen for rodents and things coming up.
00:40They get about 50 pounds. Ours are about 50, 52 pounds right now.
00:45These two girls are a year old. Well, we have two females, Jasmine and Jamie.
00:50Jasmine will be the first one that will come up to you and explore.
00:54She'll probably be the first one to come up to the fence line and visit our guests.
00:58Jamie, she's a little more hesitant, although technically they're saying a little more dominant.
01:04We released Jasmine first. We tossed a food item out. It wasn't really what Jasmine wanted.
01:10Initially she wanted to explore her exhibit, so she went around and explored everywhere.
01:14Then we opened the second crate with Jamie in it.
01:16Jamie was a little more hesitant, sat in the crate. As soon as we left the exhibit, she came out and they both started exploring the exhibit together.
