00:00Previously on Project Runway Canada this week you will design a high-fashion look
00:05Inspired by one of these shoe styles. I love shoes. I wanted to do events on the pants
00:11But I don't have the time for it. This is a lot
00:16Consider just cutting these off. I will not cut them off. The ruffles are perfect
00:21Maya
00:22Foster you both paid homage to your footwear. The winner of this challenge is Foster. Oh my god
00:29What Rome cap, I'm so sorry, but you're both out
00:36At stake for the winner from TD a career-launching investment of
00:42$100,000 and a feature in El Canada magazine with global supermodel Coco Rocha
00:48fashion designer Spencer Badu
00:51creative director Aurora James and
00:53And legendary fashion journalist Jeanne Becker. This is Project Runway Canada
00:59Oh my gosh
01:13What's going on? There's five gold envelopes five of us and giant tigers here. Hello designers
01:20Hello
01:22As you can see I have a little surprise for you waiting on the runway this morning
01:27Actually, this one is giant
01:31We all love to look fabulous, but let's be honest
01:34Runway style can often come with runaway prices
01:38That's why giant tiger is the cat's meow because low price is what they do
01:43Listen, I know the giant tiger. I know the GT boutique the five looks you see here are all from giant tiger
01:50Each of you will design a high fashion fit that roars couture
01:56Inspired by one of these five garments. You will not only be judged on your designs
02:01You will also be judged by how little you spend to create them
02:05For me creating a couture look on a budget is what I do, but I was safe last week
02:11So I need to step it up
02:14We have a quilted puffer vest a
02:18men's plaid shirt a long cardigan a
02:21rhinestone bow sweater and a faux fur Sherpa jacket the puffer vest has so much potential
02:28You can create some really cool silhouettes that wintry cardigan is going to be the hardest
02:33There's so many motifs. There's like three colors on it to be clear. You're not
02:39Using the actual pieces in your looks. We want you to use your imaginations. Don't just dream big dream giant
02:46I don't usually do couture
02:48But I'm pretty used to working on a tighter budget because the money is usually coming out of my pocket
02:53But at the same time it is extra pressure knowing you're the only one without a win next me are five golden envelopes
02:59Foster as the winner of last week's challenge you get to pick first step on
03:06I'm gonna pick this one
03:08rhinestone bow sweater the whole look on the mannequin is so similar to my aesthetic very simple and minimalist but very impactful
03:16I can do a lot with this we've randomly selected the order and
03:20And charles you get to pick next. Okay, the flannel plaid shirt
03:26I like this one. Curtis you're next
03:30Puffer vest
03:32Leland it's your turn. It's the faux fur Sherpa jacket. Oh my god
03:38This is so me. Let's do it. That means Maya you get the long cardigan. It's definitely not my first choice, but
03:46Let's make it happen. This is a two-day challenge
03:51You'll have 30 minutes to sketch before you meet aurora at the fabric store where you'll have up to
03:57$350 to spend
03:59So make sure you keep track of every dollar spent
04:03$350 is not a lot of money to make a couture look, but it's not hard for me at all
04:08I know how to make more inexpensive materials feel luxurious. We want to see big style
04:13small spend
04:16Affordability and couture they don't mash the time it takes to build couture warrants the price for it
04:22I'm a really fast sewer, but good luck
04:27Well get sketching
04:33Let's get sketching guys
04:35Do this
04:41Definitely doing black and white. I think it's calling for it. I think i'm actually gonna go like a sherpa picot
04:47Maybe makes a matching boots out of a sherpa
04:49So it's just like this full sherpa moment sherpa is like really expensive too. I know
04:54I think i'm gonna have to get creative with it
04:56They both contradict each other budget and couture not necessarily
04:59You know a unique piece that's handmade and custom made that has no budget. Yeah when workmanship shows
05:06It doesn't matter what material it's made out of couture to me means custom and attention to detail
05:12I really want to do like a full couture
05:15Puffed look
05:17There are so many unique details on here that feel like they're pretty in line with my aesthetic
05:22I want to do a super exaggerated quilted mermaid skirt and then a massive hood
05:26So that it feels very historical and me and still connects back to my giant tiger inspiration piece
05:32I need to top stitch my way to the top
05:35All right everyone time's up let's go shopping all right let's do it on a budget
05:49Are you ready to step into the tiger's den
05:51oh yeah time to get out of your comfort zones the judges are wanting to see this week super high fashion looks but also
06:00Cost-effective you're gonna have 350 dollars and 30 minutes to make this happen okay go
06:09Do you have tulle black tulle almost like this one but not expensive white taffeta the cheapest you've got
06:16Where can i find velvet velvet is on this side okay okay what are you looking for
06:19Exactly you got the flannel look i got the flannel look okay it's going to be a different direction i'm going sexier than i usually would
06:26I want it to feel like a fully black and white flannel tank top dress and a skirt that mimics the lines of a collar
06:34So obsessed with black and white your look last week with color was so beautiful the judges loved it
06:39I well i was safe last week too they want to see you get out of your comfort zone and black and white and stripes
06:47Is your comfort zone and your item was a flannel shirt is there going to be any flannel there's going to be no flannel in this
06:55If i can't find the flannel i want i'm going to make the flannel i want
06:58I'm looking for something that looks like bella a shearling kind of moment this one is 19 a yard okay
07:08How much a yard was that 39. one yard of your fabric is more expensive than my vest my vest was 35
07:18All right foster i see you with the crystals is this how we're shaking it up this week
07:22i'm just doing a little sparkle super pumped i won last week it's a big deal it's just so rewarding to
07:29know that i was right pursuing this career i need your opinion i'm making a long sleeve black velvet
07:35dress with rhinestone details but you know sparkly it's going to be expensive i'm a little concerned
07:41that 205 dollars for this is a lot no it's not be more concerned about not going home than like
07:49only spending 200. that's kind of a good strategy though make sure you spend what you need let's do
07:55two meters of this this one's so sexy i love it how are we doing with the budget all of them are
08:01under 40 and some are even under 10 so i'm just trying to make decisions about where the colors go
08:06in order for this to be identifiable as the cardigan you're going to have to play to winter i was
08:11thinking it could be a fun lining so then you're having it glittering out and is this you i'm like
08:16trying to force myself into glitter it feels winter it does feel winter i have never worked with glitter
08:22so i hope the judges take notice of the fact that i'm doing something different i'm really thinking
08:31what's a goodie so i got 331. hustle hustle let's go 215 dollars 261 dollars okay perfect time
08:40is up all right designers i'll see you back at the work room
08:50here we are oh hello hello hello puffer vest this is where i am
09:02there's literally five of us in this room right now crazy eh final five oh my god i can't believe
09:09we're here after the last elimination it was really really jarring and so upsetting to hear
09:16that both roman cat were going home and i was the only one safe last week the judges had words to say
09:21to me i was getting maybe comic book character taste wise to us it was a little cheap i can recognize
09:27that you're right and i listened to them so this week i'm really challenging myself i don't want it to look
09:33too much i wanted to just be tasteful and still have those elements of fun but couture yes bitch
09:43yeah i just patterned the like quickest mermaid of my life and i'm dreading the quilting that's in front
09:49of me i have found the perfect off-white taffeta for this puffer inspired look and i grabbed eight yards
09:56of it even though the look is all white i am convinced the judges will notice all of the
10:01intricate detail building this shape alone couture is all about skill precision and your artistic vision
10:07so if you're relying on multiple fabrics to communicate that
10:14couldn't be me
10:18i think there's nothing i've done in this competition that i've done before it feels great being back in
10:22the top it feels right finally the judges like my design i really need to keep this momentum going
10:28how are you translating the knit i decided to go away from the knit and think about like what does
10:33the knit represent it's definitely giving winter and it brings to mind 1920s silhouettes i love being
10:40inspired by history so i'm gonna be pulling from ready for it anastasia i'm making a princess inspired
10:49coat with gloves and hiding underneath will be a dress i might do the gloves out of the red polka dots
10:57i was looking at these and thinking that the polka dots kind of connect to that yeah but look at this
11:04glitter oh my god i love this for you i know crazy they won't see it coming i'm almost at my patterns
11:12look at this pleated shirt like shearling oh it's gonna be cool it's cool hi designers
11:21it is feeling so empty in here excited to see what you're all up to
11:30what's that the jacket you are nothing if not fast yes i really want to steer away from this big
11:38oversized opulent coat i worry that maybe that's a little too close to my cashmere challenge yeah
11:43so my thought process here was to maybe tap into another type of coat why not like a raincoat moment
11:49out of a shearling material yeah i kind of fell in love with doing this pleating with the shearlings
11:54giving it a really expensive texture and then i'm going to be lining everything in the brown piping
11:59and then i would love to make some thigh-high boot covers out of the shearling oh wow so the whole look
12:04is shearling it's entirely going to be shearling push it to another level and make it high fashion
12:09and not costume i love it and that's the challenge that's my hoping goal this week we're going to take
12:14a break from costume this is going to be high fashion i'm really confident in this design and i
12:19think the judges will see that it would be incredible to win we're going to make this one memorable
12:24of course you're right hi hi aurora how is it going that made progress how are we going to make this
12:39black dress pop so the things that i pick up from this are minimalism and luxury so i wanted to play
12:45around those elements i am sort of like manipulating her body a little bit here yeah yeah i just wanted to
12:51give her jessica rabbit oh great i really feel like this look is couture it's about details it's
12:57about construction okay i think what was so great about last week is you took something that you're
13:03really good at which is tailoring and you pushed it to another level and you made it unexpected but
13:08a black velvet dress can also be predictable my biggest struggle is perhaps not doing enough and so
13:18i really am trying to push myself to do things that are more risky things are that are more interesting
13:25you proved yourself last week the judges were obsessed so let's focus on some drama you know
13:35all right designers there's only five of you left and now more than ever everyone has to put their best
13:43foot forward we have an hour left i'm going to see you all tomorrow thank you aurora thank you
13:57i feel like i'm working slow but i'm not pattern making took a long time today my love for pattern
14:02making comes from my couture background i worked in london and dubai and i didn't have experiences that
14:08aren't always positive but they've taught me a lot of resilience life isn't perfect you're never going
14:14to get exactly what you want this tattoo represents like seam lines and the reason why it's disjointed
14:20is because seams break thread breaks and you just keep on going on so it's it's a reminder for me to
14:26always embrace the imperfections in life it makes you really strong though i will say
14:30wait a minute wait a minute left oh my god
14:49all right guys time's up let's go home for the night
15:00i am fully confident in my design it's really cheeky it's a little bit fun it's a nod to street
15:15wear that the judges haven't seen from me yet i definitely have a reputation for making things
15:21a little bit twisted a little bit unexpected so close to being perfect and then veering off a little bit
15:26to the side school wasn't always the easiest thing for me being the obviously queer child running
15:33around in the early 2000s i was bullied for a long time not only am i here representing myself but i'm
15:39representing an entire other community of people that stand behind me all of the weird queer fashion
15:45kids that think they're alone and ostracized you're not alone one of them is sitting right here and i think
15:53i'm doing pretty good the vest is complete so how are you guys feeling with the models coming in like
16:01no time i just want to get this skirt on her so she can figure out how to move in it uh it's everything's
16:08in pieces everyone's pieces are coming together very fast and it's scary looking around the room when i
16:14only have patterns it's a lot to do as always it's looking incredible so far it's the scary part because
16:20it's just in pieces right now all that line matching all of those seams it's not easy to do it in that
16:27short amount of time for me that's couture i just have to sew a bunch of lines everywhere i know you're
16:32making the fabric so that's what i'm doing good morning designers hey good morning looks like there's a lot
16:40going on in here just thought i would check in see how things are progressing
16:49hey all right hi you know what i am appreciating this shape that you have that shape's really
16:56banging and it's a maya version of a cardigan but starting to feel a little chaotic this is throwing me
17:05especially in relationship to this i struggle with this fabric i think you may have to axe the dress
17:14you could just do a mini dress oh i agree it's flashing with the sparkles but it's time consuming
17:21to make another dress i would just focus on making this outerwear piece really extraordinary yeah however
17:29the end of the day there's no excuses for anything it's what's on the runway so we're gonna make it
17:35happen just focus on making this yeah great you must be sewing more padding yeah just um i'm doing the
17:50shoulders now so do you need me to grab you more padding um thank you all i think all of this you
18:02need i think you should just put it all in once the model comes we're just gonna stuff her like a
18:08thanksgiving turkey
18:13come on in models
18:20good how are you this is like what i have for you right now hi hayley leland love to meet you oh
18:28oh you have to see it you're going to guess
18:31okay i'm just gonna take one measurement loving this drama you think it's good i think it's good
18:39i have to tell you i want to 10x the amount of fill like this like
18:45aurora is so greedy i have created a massive fully boned mermaid skirt and she wants more well i'll give
18:54you more i'm loving where this is going thank you i just think you have to pump it up i'm gonna have to
18:59figure out what i'm gonna do about this and the shoulders but yeah did you make the internal
19:06structure i did but i just i haven't singed her in okay yeah hourglass it out hourglass it up yeah
19:12yeah black dresses are hard because they can either be incredibly striking or entirely forgettable
19:21is there a world where we cut it scandalously low they're opening the back yes i know rory you
19:28want me to show some skin but do you need to show some skin to be sexy the answer is no
19:36sometimes simple is impactful you're gonna want to play with this as well yeah we know you can do
19:41elegance yeah we need drama drama drama drama i will give you drama bear with me while i safety pin
19:47she glittery it's gonna give a little mary j bligh just gonna give like a little j lo you know it's
19:52falling exactly where it needs to fall hey charles so far i think it's very cool idea but shape wise it
19:59feels a little reminiscent of last week based on the actual cut of the garment it doesn't feel as
20:07surprising i'm just i'm i'm i'm just taken aback by this because even though i've explored volume in
20:14numerous ways it's always been flattering it's always been different looking at your flannel and
20:20i'm looking at this dress and i'm wondering if the judges are going to be able to connect it to the
20:25flannel the only things that pop out to me are the lines and so my design is literally about the lines
20:31if there's any way to keep pushing yourself would just love to see it i don't feel like i'm being
20:36comfortable i've been taking risks i think it's going to translate quite well so i'm sticking to my gut and
20:43i'm going for it i love it yeah all right designers that's it with your models bye you're incredible
20:52beautiful i can't wait i'm so excited bye remember this is cost friendly couture inspired runway ready
21:00you're the final five show us why on the runway all right bye guys we're like final five we made it
21:08through all the trials and tribulations we've been through a lot together when this is all over who you
21:12guys most excited to see my mom oh i'm just excited to see like my chinese family and stuff you know
21:18yeah yeah the people at the mall oh my god i'm so excited to go back to the mall this past year i was
21:24able to open up my own storefront in chinatown i walk up to it some days and like i'll cry because of
21:30how proud i am that i did that you know i'm like we're i'm a poor kid from chinatown and now i'm like in
21:37chinatown living my dream last week i was in the bottom so this week i really feel like i gotta prove
21:43myself i'm gonna make some more belts no handbag i love a handbag with an outfit
21:49i mean like that's a hood indeed a hood it is
21:59five minutes designers i wish there was more time once again the main issue is time management and
22:08i'm getting stressed out i don't usually do glitter glitz or even fabrics like this but i want to win
22:19it is runway day and we've got a lot to get done my skirt has yet to be finished and i still have to
22:38accentuate these hips with those detached hoods to max out the impact of this look i have to get
22:44the hem done on the skirt that's a big head looking around the room these shapes are more
22:51on the subdued side especially for a couture challenge so i'm hoping this massive skirt helps
22:58me stand out later today on that runway i still have to add more stuff into this beast what do you
23:02think about this oh i like that a lot yeah i'm gonna remove these other ones and see i decided to
23:09scrap the rhinestone sparkle the damonte detailing just looks cheap i'll do one here so this makes
23:15them yeah and then a tiny one just in the front and i think that's a very elegant take on the bow thank
23:21you good morning designers good morning i hope you all are ready for your models oh yeah good morning
23:31hey good morning i can't wait for you to try this on all right how are we feeling this morning feeling
23:38good i remade the dress okay um is this supposed to be straight yes like that okay and then this goes
23:47like this so i just want to make sure i'm understanding what the shape is supposed to be
23:53yeah because this has to really be like perfect it looks messy i am very stressed there's still so much
24:01to do but i just want to really show the judges the construction and attention to detail i can really do
24:07just keep perfecting this yeah oh so much work this is so cool it's sexy on a budget i mean less fabric
24:18it makes sense all right let's unpin you foster this zipper is there any way to cover it you really don't
24:24like the zipper no i think the zipper is really competing with the bows i just wanted a break in the
24:29dress the break in the dress should be her skin we've already spoken about that aurora i am not snipping
24:35the back of this dress this is sexy to me i am god smacked right now this is so fun and i was
24:44thinking maybe gloves but i wouldn't honestly and oh my god mr edit mrs edit if you're nasty all right
24:51when you're ready it's time to take your models to the l'oreal paris glam room
25:01so we're thinking for the makeup we'll do like a smoky eye and a luscious lip oh i love that so i have
25:07infallible plump ambition lip oil it's gonna give her the soft plump naturally she'll feel a bit of this
25:13tingle as it works it's magic i'm making a purse in the next 10 minutes off i told you what happened
25:22i told you i was like what about the purse and look now there's a purse
25:33yay nay i can't i can't right now i'm sorry all right designers time is up start heading to the runway
25:43this is it i hope the judges like my look i really want to make it to the finale but someone will
25:51have to go and there's no more fat to trim we are all taking risks that i don't think we would have
25:56taken a couple of challenges ago the stakes are high all right designers it's runway time let's do this
26:05yay let's go let's go let's go hello designers hey this week you're tasked with creating a look
26:30that was couture inspired and cost conscious giant tiger style we wanted you to dream big
26:38on a budget say hello to your judges fashion designer spencer vadu hey designers hey fashion
26:45journalist jeannie becker i feel like giving you all a group hug
26:49someone's missing why is our guest judge no please welcome celebrated cfda designer mentor producer
27:04and my ride or die the one and only christian siriano
27:11christian siriano is here i've always looked up to him i'm so excited
27:34i'm so nervous the pressure has increased because he knows what's going on here he's done it please
27:40be nice christian please should we get this show started yeah let's do it
27:55the coat looks incredible the skirt is flouncing is bouncing as she's taking each step
28:00so much this isn't a costume and the full look is perfect
28:14my look is everything i wanted to say it's boyfriend flannel meets revenge dress i love all the cutouts
28:21the open back how it feels young fresh it is not about how much you spend it's about how you style it
28:28how you feel in it and that is exactly what i did this is couture
28:37it's gorgeous this is a full lined coat it feels wearable but also couture and elevated and i think
28:47it represents the inspiration piece well without being too literal i'm really happy with the overall
28:53design of the look she looks ethereal this look is couture i love the bows on the sleeves it feels rich
29:07this is everything my brand is about and i hope they don't think i am playing it safe
29:12the silhouette it's an architectural dream and it was a huge undertaking she looks like a winter
29:26right the hoods on the hips are doing exactly what i wanted them to do i love a monochromatic look this
29:33looks priceless
29:39let's all do it too
29:45designers please step up to the runway
29:51there are only five of you left and tonight one of you will be the winner
29:56and one of you will be out
30:02we'd like to speak to each one of you about your designs let's start with one of our top scores of
30:07tonight
30:14curtis stretching a dollar has never looked so good the giant tiger inspiration piece that i got was the
30:21off-white puffer vest and to create this couture look i spent 212 dollars i wanted to find one fabric
30:29and showcase my technique and my skill and i'm really happy with the way it turned out to do a
30:34monochromatic look that is really powerful is really hard to do and it looks way more than 200
30:41thank you that means a lot coming from you so thank you so much this was artistry to me of the highest
30:45order it's experimental it's everything that uh fashion forward couture should be there's so much
30:53detail my favorite part is the hood the little spikes on the top and i just love how you make
30:58everything a little punk when you can i wish was a little more puffy in it just to give a little
31:03that exaggeration but i'm really impressed with this thank you curtis let's bring out one of our least
31:10favorite looks of the night fostered this looked in roar kind of meowed it's very safe i wanted to
31:19embody the inspiration piece from giant tiger i wanted to keep the idea of timelessness simplicity and
31:25elegance and my look cost uh 261 dollars i think you really know who you are you are all about elegance
31:35and you know how to deliver it but as it came down the runway it just didn't really inspire me
31:41because it seemed like a dress that i'd seen many many many times before it's a basic velvet tube dress
31:47like anybody my intern could have made that in 20 minutes it's just not enough one of the things that
31:52grabbed my attention maybe not in the best way was the zipper in the back so i went for the silver
31:57zipper because i thought the silver would play on the bow you don't like that zipper there's no way turn
32:03around really quick that bubbly bumpy you know it wasn't silver zipper down the back you don't like
32:10that zipper get out of here i actually think the bows are quite interesting they're really beautiful
32:15how you did them but i think they could have been so much more thank you foster this next look is one of
32:22our favorites leland you gave his tiger not kitten i spent 330 but only because the shearling was so
32:33expensive to get when we see a shearling coat there's usually not much detail because the fabric
32:38itself is so difficult to work with and i challenged myself to actually plead it and give it some
32:43structure to really give it couture and high fashion every penny wasn't wasted that bag is great the
32:51shoes are great had you not had those things i think it wouldn't have been as successful if i was
32:55going to hit the top of my budget i really wanted to make sure i could give the customer as much as they
33:00could have i was like you know it's mariah in aspen she got out of the car everyone's following her
33:06around and i just love that feeling right away like i envisioned someone wearing it all the pieces were
33:11fantastic fun and sassy the whole thing i'm just kudos i love the detail i love the line play the trim
33:21is like chef's kiss this is great good job leland thank you so much i really appreciate you guys the next
33:26design received one of the low scores
33:33maya i spent 283 dollars my inspiration piece was the long cardigan with the snowflakes and the polka
33:40dots and the stripes there was just too many elements felt heavy it looked rushed and you can
33:46see that all on the runway the hardest part of this challenge for me was finding the fabrics i don't
33:51usually use sparkly things if you don't use glitter fabric then why'd you pick it i wanted to step
34:00outside of my comfort zone and when i saw this fabric it really spoke to the old princess movie
34:06animations there's always such poetry to uh what you do and i totally got the snow queen idea just the
34:15execution lacked something i don't think the front looks great it doesn't really close but does it close
34:21but so i'm just very confused i think for this you know you you missed the mark i do know that
34:26i could have done something better thank you maya thank you so much and our final look of the night
34:36so it cost 267 dollars the piece i got was a flannel plaid shirt i wanted to take something sexy from a
34:43casual piece i really like this look you use the springboard of that plaid flannel shirt that was just
34:50so unassuming and and so basic and so comfortable and you took it to a fantasy level i really see
34:56the vision i love the shoulders there's something very strong about it and the cutouts sexy i was
35:01really impressed by it thank you so much what's cool about this is that it's just kind of a modern
35:06silhouette but you're missing some plaid elements though i will say the connection is a bit off but i
35:12still think it's really interesting and i think a lot of young cool actresses would wear this that's what i
35:18like about it but the inspiration should be somewhat there and that's the problem not one of my favorites
35:25i just don't see final and i don't feel flannel i enjoyed this look
35:30thank you designers we have some very difficult decisions to make jenny you're a little emotional
35:38right now i'm emotional about all of these kids i call you kids i'm just so proud of all of you and
35:44you're on a path and you've got a clear vision hi thank you jamie thank you jamie
35:52you've given us a lot to think about and you can all leave the runway thank you
35:56oh well that was a divisive one what a time fun
36:09all right let's talk about our favorite and not so favorite looks of the night
36:13curtis and leland i love both the designs but you gotta give charles's credit that was a
36:19beautiful dress oh i like the plaid look i did like that i loved all three too i know coco but i
36:26thought it was kind of fabulous i don't know what you were seeing you're not on the top too i think
36:31if the plaid was really done perfectly if it was done yeah i know but it wasn't if you want to do flannel
36:37go for it he went on some other material and put some lines on it was like that's flannel here's the
36:41thing we have curtis who spent the least amount of all the designers and then you have leland who spent the
36:47most of all the designs so those are our top two and what are we gonna do we're gonna go with a
36:52superior look i really did like curtis the parka couture moment i like the weirdness of it the idea
37:00is a bit off i really appreciate the imagination it felt like something that you know we'd see in a
37:06couture show but leland's oozed attitude i know the struggles that he's probably had trying to not make
37:13it too costumey he really showed that he knows how to make beautiful garments the detail that he put
37:20and the work that went into that shearling look was so beautiful i agree i love that yes he spent a
37:26significant amount of money but we got a bag we got a pair of shoes and we got a coat i think he did the
37:31budget justice all right but who do we think should go home tonight for me i think it's between foster and
37:38maya foster very safe and that doesn't keep you in this competition the zipper in the back sadly
37:44ruined it for me because it was buckling that was the only thing you could really like notice that was
37:48and like why put a metal zipper in a black velvet gown like that is insane and then we had maya i mean
37:54this girl loves the story it's like the snow queen she didn't make it happen for me i think she got lost
38:00she just really wasn't inspired by that sweater at all i think at this point in the competition
38:06uh execution really matters a lot i think we made our decisions let's bring out the designers
38:18you all created unique and imaginative looks while keeping things fiercely frugal
38:23only one of you will be the winner and one of you will be out
38:27yes
38:32and you can leave the runway thank you
38:36curtis and leland
38:40tonight's winner didn't just deliver a look they delivered a whole lifestyle the winner of this
38:47challenge is
38:50Leland I can't believe that shearling outfit came through and the fact that Christian Siriano
39:02loved it too in 10 years if I can be the Christian Siriano or Canada it would mean everything and to
39:10help you keep dreaming big giant tiger is rewarding you with $5,000 thank you so much
39:20you guys I really appreciate it Curtis you're still in you can both leave the runway thank you
39:27guess what yes I'm literally so happy maybe I'm not just a costume designer maybe I'm a designer
39:43and it makes me really excited for what's to come maybe what's to come is a faux fur shearling
39:50coat Maya and Foster you both took a leap unfortunately one of you will be out Maya we know you have
40:03vision but tonight your outfit lack focus Foster at this point in the competition we need you to get
40:13loud Maya I'm sorry but you are out thank you judges Foster they're still in and you can leave the runway
40:29thank you so much thank you oh we're so proud of you bring it in I was able to do enough you knew was
40:42a really tough week I'm glad I have another chance I'm gonna have to fight Maya we see your vision we know
40:51you're a storyteller and we can't wait to see where the next chapter holds thank you for the opportunity I'm
40:57I'm still really proud of myself you should be come here you've got a bright future ahead of you
41:04darling thank you
41:05well damn
41:10hey hey Maya how are you feeling how do you think
41:16I just want you to know like we are so proud of you no matter what okay you're gonna be a superstar
41:24after this for sure thanks guys Maya I think you have so much vision you are at the very beginning of your career and we will continue to see you
41:42I think it's time to say goodbye to everyone what thank you I didn't think it was gonna be me right
41:49now I'm just disappointed in myself that I didn't do better but I still think that everything I did
41:56screams me and that I never compromised myself or what I love to do and I had so much fun the whole
42:04time my last kisses I'm still in progress I still have so much to learn and I hope that this leads
42:13to the opportunities that can open a world that I don't even know exists next time on project runway
42:24Canada cheers to final four just one more challenge dance in the way this is the dream for any designer
42:32this is a huge risk but I'm pushing myself to my absolute limit I just hope this piece is taking me to
42:38the finale tonight will be someone's final chapter three of you will be in and one of you will be out
42:54this is the dream for me
