00:00Next year, you'll only be seeing 3 new iPhones.
00:04iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, oh, and, uh, this.
00:18This is the brand new iPhone Fold, and it's probably your next iPhone.
00:24After years of companies like Samsung pioneering and perfecting the foldable form factor,
00:31Apple finally decides that 2026 is the year to pretend they're doing it too.
00:36After experimenting with both clamshell style, like the Z Flip, and book style, like the Z Fold,
00:42Apple has settled on the book style, and for good reason, because they think they've done the impossible.
00:49No visible crease down the middle of the display.
00:53Now, like most Apple fans, I'm guessing you just pretend that other phones don't even exist, so, let me catch you up.
01:00One drawback to foldables, one very big drawback to foldables, regardless of how cool they may look and feel,
01:07is that from perhaps too many angles, you can see and feel a crease down the middle of the plastic display where the hinge is.
01:15This isn't typically a design flaw, it's just inherently what happens when you take an OLED display and bend it.
01:24Apple, through witchcraft and good vibes, has completely subverted this issue.
01:29They're doing this by using a metal plate that disperses the pressure of bending the display.
01:34That, along with using liquid metal in the hinge, is supposed to make this thing durable enough to hit a small child.
01:40Although foldables have increased in market share and are considered cool by teenagers and adults that work at Outback Steakhouse,
01:49the visible crease that sits dead center in all foldables is the one thing that, for me, just doesn't feel right.
01:55A visible crease sitting down the center of every foldable ever is an indicator to me that, hey bro, maybe we didn't need to start bending these in the first place.
02:06So, removing that crease entirely, making it seem seamless, is a major step in the right direction.
02:12Still silly, but a major step nonetheless.
02:15On the outside, you'll be using what kind of looks like a standard iPhone that has a 5.5 inch display.
02:22An iPhone that measures around 9 millimeters when it's all closed up.
02:26All in all, relatively thin, considering when you unfold this thing, you'll be greeted with a 7.8 inch iPad-like display.
02:34It's up to you if you want that in a phone.
02:37I do not.
02:39When this thing is unfolded flat, you're looking at 4.5 millimeters thin.
02:43It's kind of crazy.
02:45And in terms of cameras, four.
02:47There are four of them.
02:48One on the outside, two rear-facing cameras, and the other one is on the inside.
02:54We have so much more to cover about iPhone Fold, and we'll do that after today's sponsor.
02:59The best iPhones have one screen that doesn't fold.
03:02And if yours doesn't have a screen protector on it, then don't blame us when it's busted.
03:06Don't go out in the world all exposed.
03:08At FPT, we trust ESR for a reason.
03:11They're the best.
03:12When it comes to price and reliability, no one else comes close.
03:17This Armorite UltraFit screen protector goes on with no trouble, no dust, no air bubbles.
03:22Pull this tab, you're done.
03:23It's seven times stronger than other generic screen protectors, and it's clearer than ever with anti-reflective coating.
03:29So your screen has brighter visuals, reduced glare, and more accurate color.
03:32Pair their screen protectors with a case, and you've got the best of the best.
03:37Their hybrid magnetic case is designed for MagSafe with even stronger magnets.
03:42It protects every corner of your phone, and the camera protection doubles as a stash stand.
03:47ESR thought of everything.
03:49Get your hands on the best today by clicking the links in the description below.
03:53Let's have a look at the front of iPhone Fold again.
03:56You might wonder, where is Face ID?
03:59Yep, nope, just like my dad at my baseball games, it's not there.
04:04In terms of security, Touch ID will be making a return next year, right in the power button,
04:10which is also returning to the top of the phone.
04:13The phone will also use Apple's second-gen in-house modem, the C2, to connect to all things cellular.
04:20Where things get a bit more interesting is battery life.
04:23Apple will be using high-density battery cells, thanks to the slimming down of the display driver.
04:29This obviously makes room for more battery, and with the better efficiency of the C2,
04:35this phone might actually last more than two hours when it gets hot.
04:37The only colors available will be black and white, but also very, very expensive.
04:46Apple tests their customers every year, trying to see just how much they can charge for everything.
04:52And with iPhone Fold, we're talking something in the ballpark of $2,000 to $2,500.
04:59Now, personally, I'm not sure it will be that expensive, but it is the only other iPhone launching in September.
05:07However, like I said, we're only getting iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Fold,
05:12which positions this as the premium phone of the year.
05:16To me, this sure opens up the avenue to finally call an iPhone Ultra and charge an Ultra price in the process,
05:25which, you guessed it, Apple customers will happily sell their next car to purchase.
05:29Because, honey, that car ain't got no Apple logo on it, but the iPhone Fold sure will.
05:37As you said, they want to provide a good phone call.
