04:36They were in an apartment with a doorman and a gate.
04:39You know, we didn't think that they needed security there.
04:43And you see everyone leaving me for the night.
04:46And little did all the robbers know that Simone was really with me and stayed back with me.
04:51Everyone kind of thought I was by myself.
04:53But Simone was downstairs.
04:58I was just in bed, falling asleep, just closed my computer.
05:02It was like 2 or 3 in the morning, and I heard stomping up the stairs.
05:08And I remember thinking, you know, it was just Courtney and Steph, and they must have been drunk.
05:13And I was calling for them.
05:15You know, when you're woken up out of your sleep, sometimes you're like, am I imagining things?
05:18Is this what I'm hearing?
05:19And I sat up, and I got out of bed, and I went to the door, and I heard men, like, saying things.
05:28And I just remember guys barging in that were in police uniforms.
05:34And then me seeing really quickly that the concierge from our hotel was, like, in handcuffs with a gun to him.
05:42And then I realized what was happening.
05:44She's screaming.
05:45Yeah.
05:45They go and grab her.
05:46Are they pointing the gun at her?
05:48You're shaking her with a gun.
05:50And I heard Kim screaming.
05:52And I was like, this is f***ing real.
05:58So I picked up my phone to call 911, and I didn't know what that was in France.
06:03So I pressed my security guard, and they grabbed my phone.
06:08I've known Kim since I was little.
06:10It's like I know all of her sounds.
06:12I know her laughter.
06:12I know the tone of her voice she makes when she's annoyed, when she's happy.
06:17There's something really different, the sound that she was making.
06:24It was pure, like, fear.
06:27I remember looking at the concierge gentleman, and just so, I was so confused.
06:32I was like, what's happening?
06:32What's happening?
06:34Are we going to die?
06:35I just kept saying that to him.
06:36Are we going to die?
06:37It was, it was terror.
06:39It was sheer terror.
06:40My instant reaction was like, I have babies.
06:45Just let me go.
06:46Like, please, I have babies at home.
06:49I didn't see anything.
06:50Like, they can take whatever they want.
06:52And please, don't kill me.
06:54I'm shaking.
06:56I'm shaking because I don't know why these men are in her room, what they want from her.
07:02Are they in the entire hotel?
07:04And so, in my mind, it wasn't just about Kim.
07:09It was like, they're taking over the whole hotel.
07:12Like, everyone's in trouble.
07:13Like, no one is safe.
07:15I just had my robe on.
07:17And that was it.
07:18I was, like, naked underneath.
07:20And at one point, he, like, grabbed my feet and, like, pulled me towards the bed.
07:23And I thought to myself, like, okay, he's going to rape you.
07:28And this is it.
07:29And I, like, braced myself and was like, okay.
07:32You know, I'm scared that something bad is happening to her upstairs.
07:37So, it's just, like, overwhelming.
07:41Your friend is screaming.
07:43You're thinking that they're violating her.
07:45Like, it's just, I, that's just what I.
07:50And then I'm thinking I'm next.
07:54And then he proceeded to, like, tie me up.
07:58He zip-tied my hands and feet and then duct-taped on top of that.
08:02While I was still on the bed.
08:05When I realized they weren't going to rape me.
08:07They were just tying me up.
08:09That's when I thought I was going to die.
08:12Because he had put tape over my face.
08:17Over my mouth.
08:19And over my eyes.
08:20So, I think that uncertainty of what's going to happen was just the most terrifying feeling.
08:28I'm thinking I have to help Kim.
08:31However, I can help her because I'm the only one in the apartment with her.
08:35One of the guys just yells out, ring, a few times.
08:39Ring, ring.
08:40And then he saw it.
08:41Ah, I found it.
08:42Aha.
08:43Like, I just remember him saying, like, aha.
08:45Then he found my other box of jewelry with all the rest of my stuff.
08:49And was, like, screaming in excitement that he found it.
08:529-1-1 isn't a number in France.
08:54So, that was my first thing.
08:55It's like, who am I calling?
08:57I texted Court and Steph for help.
09:01I said that there were men upstairs with Kim.
09:04And Courtney responded immediately.
09:07I got a text from Simone that said, I just heard Kim say, take anything you want.
09:16We had just had that conversation at lunch saying that if we were ever getting robbed,
09:23that we would say, take whatever you want.
09:26It was just so crazy.
09:29And so, I said, we're on our way.
09:31I remember running out of the club and I saw Courtney and the security guard getting into the car.
09:36And they were like, we have to go.
09:37We have to go.
09:37Like, Kim's been robbed.
09:38Something happened.
09:39I was thinking about Courtney.
09:41You know, I hope when her and Stephanie walk in the room that, like, they won't be traumatized for the rest of their lives.
09:49That they will.
09:50I said a prayer for them and my family.
09:52Then we just raced out, got in the car.
09:57Kendall was with me.
09:59And we just went straight to the apartment.
10:02And we called my mom.
10:04A call like that is truly unbelievable.
10:07And that's my biggest fear in life is that something bad would happen to one of my children.
10:15Once they were finished, they picked me up and put me in the bathroom and then shut the door and then ran out.
10:22I heard loud footsteps going down the stairs.
10:26I heard them pass my room.
10:28So I knew that they weren't coming to me.
10:31And then I heard the door close.
10:33They fled on bikes with a bag of jewels, leaving Kim and the concierge grateful to be alive.
10:39The zip tie wasn't on tight.
10:41And so I was able to get out of it.
10:43And then I was able to pull it off my face.
10:46And then I hear Kim coming down the stairs.
10:51And she's calling my name.
10:54And she still has tape around her legs.
10:58And her bathrobe is off of her.
11:01It's, like, undone.
11:02And I definitely thought she had been raped.
11:06I still didn't even think that they had robbed her.
11:10You know, she looked like she had been violated.
11:12And she had been.
11:13I mean, yeah.
11:17And then Kim called me, like, a couple minutes later.
11:22And was, like, screaming.
11:25And just was, like, help me.
11:27Like, screaming on the top of her lungs.
11:29Help.
11:30Help me.
11:30I, like, fell to the ground.
11:33Like, my knees just, like, went out and I fell to the ground.
11:37It's all such a blur.
11:39And all I knew to do was get in the car and go there.
11:42Thank God I was with her in the same city.
11:44We were five minutes away from each other.
11:47I got there immediately.
11:48We were all together.
11:50And then the police got there.
11:52I just remember being in a state of shock.
11:54But then also just in a state of distrusting everyone.
11:58Because the guys came in dressed like police.
12:00and then the real police are wearing the same exact uniforms.
12:04And then I was like, wait.
12:05Who's in on this?
12:07Like, who do I trust?
12:08Is this real?
12:09Is this not real?
12:11I remember saying to myself,
12:15OK, the cops came.
12:17You're safe.
12:18But now you need to go home.
12:19You just need to get home.
12:21And then you'll be OK.
12:22And then this feeling that you're feeling will go away.
12:27And you don't have to be scared.
12:29It was so much emotional shutdown in my brain.
12:38I don't understand what's just gone on.
12:40Everybody's screaming.
12:41It was one of the most devastating nights.
12:45What does it feel like to feel like you're going to die?
12:50You're just in pure, sheer panic.
12:53Like, you're just, you know.
12:55And then, like I said, a prayer.
12:57I always know that there's like a bigger plan.
13:01And it's always God's plan.
13:02And so you kind of make peace with that.
13:05No matter what, it's going to be OK.
13:13What a terrifying thing to have to go through
13:16when you think you're never going to see your children again.
13:20Yeah.
13:21Or just like that changed the trajectory
13:23of how we have to live our lives.
13:25Yeah.
13:25With security the way that we do.
13:27Right.
13:28It's changed our lives forever.
13:30We would have one security for, like, all of us for the trips.
13:34We just never thought we needed it like that.
13:37I didn't, I never felt unsafe, you know.
13:42I used to walk around in the city in sweats and a hoodie
13:46and, like, no security.
13:49By ourselves.
13:50Right.
13:51So this experience changed the way that I live,
13:55changed the way that I can comfortably sleep at night.
13:59I don't know.
14:00I don't know if that's just a blessing in disguise
14:02because something maybe crazier could have happened
14:05had we not changed our security detail.
14:08Well, well, it'll be over soon.
14:1248 hours, we can put this behind us.
14:16There's a motorcycle paparazzi at your right side right now.
14:20Thank you.
14:21I mean, maybe this is why they gave us a police escort
14:26because these guys are so aggressive.
14:29We've got police escorts.
14:31We've got ten times the security.
14:34This is crazy.
14:36Didn't they learn anything from Diana?
14:38And the paparazzi are surrounding us right now
14:42and we can barely move our car
14:44and it's starting to feel really unsafe.
14:46Look at these people.
14:50What the hell?
14:52There's nuts, girl.
14:53Shouldn't be allowed in, right?
14:55Look at these people.
14:56Back up.
14:57Back up.
14:57Oh, my God.
14:59Oh, my God.
14:59This just doesn't feel safe.
15:10Only way I think people would guess
15:12if this was a nod to that
15:14was if I did, like, the long straight hair
15:16and, like, no makeup.
15:17It's the day before the trial
15:19and I'm going to have a fitting
15:20just to see what I'm going to wear.
15:23It's really important that I'm here
15:24and that I'm present
15:25but I do have the bar exam
15:28two months away
15:29so I have to study while I'm here.
15:32Got 100% on this quiz.
15:34And then I have to meet with my attorneys
15:36just to go over everything
15:37and they're going to tell me what it's like
15:39and what a French trial is like.
15:42Hi, Moni.
15:43Hi.
15:44Hi.
15:45Everyone, this is Simone.
15:47Hi, everyone.
15:48Hi.
15:48Hi.
15:49Hi.
15:50Simone is one of my lifers.
15:52We grew up together.
15:53She's a stylist
15:54so she came with me 10 years ago
15:57and she's here to testify
15:59since she witnessed it all.
16:01Hi.
16:02When did you get in?
16:03I got in, like, a couple hours ago.
16:05How was New York?
16:06It was so nice.
16:07It was?
16:08We had the best time.
16:09Should we try on the final look
16:11to see if that's what we want?
16:13It was really random how we met.
16:15My mom and Faye Resnick
16:18were friends
16:19and she brought me to Chris's house.
16:23Chris was like,
16:24I have a daughter your age.
16:25She'll be home in an hour.
16:27You should wait
16:27and you guys should meet.
16:29She was like,
16:30her room's upstairs.
16:31You can go upstairs
16:32and just wait for her.
16:34And I remember going into Kim's room
16:36and being shook
16:37by all the makeup
16:39she had on the counter.
16:40I was 12
16:41and I don't think I even knew
16:43how to use a lip liner
16:44and Kim had professional makeup
16:47laid out on her bathroom
16:49and she walked in
16:51and she's like,
16:51hey, I'm Kim.
16:52And I ended up sleeping over that night.
16:54We, like, immediately just hit it off
16:56and we've been friends ever since.
17:01So is this for tomorrow
17:02or is this...
17:03Okay.
17:04I just think that the attorney
17:06just kept scaring me
17:07being like,
17:08I need photos.
17:08Like, they kicked out
17:10some of the people
17:11because they were
17:12inappropriately dressed.
17:13Really?
17:13What is inappropriately dressed?
17:15Like, they were too casual.
17:17So, like, they're
17:18taking it seriously
17:19and I get really, like,
17:20defensive when they're...
17:22I just want to go in
17:23and, like, all diamonds.
17:25Are you doing that?
17:26I want to.
17:27I don't see why
17:28we can't.
17:31The prosecutor
17:31keeps sending notes
17:33on how they want me to dress.
17:35They want me to really
17:36tone it down,
17:37not wear any jewelry.
17:40I mean, I think it's, like,
17:41going to be deemed
17:42to the court
17:43as disrespectful,
17:44but...
17:45what they did
17:48was disrespectful.
17:49Yes.
17:50And I find it
17:51powerful.
17:52So, if they say something,
17:54oh,
17:54what can they do?
17:58I think you should.
18:00I don't like
18:01when people tell me
18:02what to do.
18:04I know how to dress.
18:06I know what's appropriate
18:08and what's not appropriate.
18:10I don't want to downplay
18:12who I am
18:13for someone else.
18:15So, it really rubs me
18:17the wrong way
18:18when people start
18:19giving me all these rules
18:20and try to tell me
18:21who I should be.
18:23shouldn't this be
18:25a little tighter?
18:26I think this should be
18:26better.
18:27Hi!
18:28Hi!
18:28Hi!
18:29I bring you
18:30great greetings
18:31with tidings.
18:31Enjoy!
18:32What is it?
18:33Little star?
18:33Cheesecake.
18:35Yum!
18:36Thank you!
18:38Hi!
18:38Hi!
18:39Hi!
18:40How are you doing?
18:41I'm okay.
18:42How are you?
18:43Good.
18:44Are you nervous?
18:46I'll be nervous
18:46when I walk in.
18:48You know?
18:48Yeah.
18:48Like, what if I forget
18:50something?
18:51Like, try to put yourself
18:52back there
18:54if you can
18:55for a minute
18:56and maybe it'll just
18:57be such great closure
18:58for you.
18:59Yeah.
18:59I know it's hard.
19:00Easy for me to say
19:01because I wasn't
19:01in the room with you guys
19:02but I was down the street.
19:05Yeah.
19:08Yeah.
19:11Mom.
19:12It doesn't matter
19:13how much time passes.
19:14I will always be emotional
19:16about this
19:16forever and ever.
19:17I talk about it
19:19and it takes me back
19:21to what could have happened
19:23and by the grace of God
19:26what didn't happen.
19:29You go back to that call,
19:31you know?
19:31Of you in the bushes
19:32calling me.
19:33In the bushes.
19:34You were.
19:35I'm behind a bush.
19:36We were hiding in the bushes.
19:37You were like,
19:37I'm on a balcony in a bush
19:38and I just got robbed.
19:38This is where we need to go.
19:40I'm like,
19:40I'm in the bushes.
19:41No, or when you open
19:43the window and you're like,
19:44if they come back
19:44we're jumping out the window
19:45and it was just like...
19:47You guys were ready
19:47to jump down to the cement?
19:50Down for anything?
19:52We didn't know
19:53why they were there
19:54and if they were coming back
19:56for other things.
19:57Kim immediately went into,
19:59like,
20:00where is the exit?
20:01She was like,
20:02if they come back
20:03and we're in this room
20:04we have to jump out
20:05of the window
20:05and that just like
20:06onto the street.
20:08We were only one floor up
20:09but still it was
20:10a high floor.
20:12But that's how scary it was
20:14that that was
20:15the option for safety
20:16is jumping out of a window
20:18and breaking our bodies.
20:20Do you remember this?
20:21Hold on.
20:22I'll be right back.
20:24North gave me this Lego
20:26and was like,
20:27this is a treasure box
20:28that will keep you safe, Mommy.
20:29I'm putting magical things in it.
20:31So right before my trip
20:33to Paris nine years ago,
20:36North, when I was leaving,
20:37she must have been three years old
20:39and Saint was one,
20:41she gave me a Lego treasure box.
20:45And so I would put it by my bed
20:46and we'd be like,
20:47we made it another night
20:48from Isis.
20:49We kept thinking it was like Isis
20:51that was going to pass.
20:51No, I remember like that part.
20:54For some reason,
20:55I was so nervous
20:57about going on this trip.
20:58I was so nervous about Isis.
21:00Isis was such a thing
21:02and I was like,
21:03oh my God,
21:03they're going to get us.
21:05They grabbed it.
21:07because it was in the Louis Vuitton thing
21:08with all my jewelry
21:09and they threw this out.
21:11And so I,
21:12this was the only thing
21:13that I got to keep
21:14and I kept it
21:15and I took it home with me
21:16and I was like,
21:17this kept me safe.
21:18I was like,
21:18who cares about the jewels?
21:19It kept me safe.
21:20So now I brought it
21:21to keep us safe
21:22so we can like rub the little
21:23I can't believe you.
21:25Lego treasure box.
21:25I actually remember this
21:26on the side of your like.
21:28I bet.
21:28I would,
21:29I would every night
21:29we would be like,
21:30we made it.
21:32When they took all my stuff,
21:33that was the only thing
21:35that they left
21:36and so
21:37it kept me safe.
21:39You look so great
21:41from behind.
21:42I know you've never
21:43heard that before.
21:45But I thought
21:46as your mother
21:47I could say it.
21:47Hello.
21:58Hello.
21:58Hello, hello, hello.
21:59How are you?
22:00How are you?
22:00Good.
22:01Thank you.
22:03Hello.
22:04Hi.
22:05How are you?
22:06Hi, beautiful.
22:07Good to see you.
22:08This is Simone, everyone.
22:10Hi, it's a pleasure
22:10to meet you in person.
22:11How are you?
22:11Hi.
22:12How are you?
22:13So I'm meeting
22:14with my French legal team.
22:15Lenore has been
22:17on the case
22:17from the beginning
22:18and I brought
22:20my attorney Mike
22:22from home.
22:23How was today?
22:24Today was interesting.
22:26It was the guy
22:26that mans the hotel
22:28at night.
22:29Uh-huh.
22:30So he testified
22:30for quite some time,
22:31maybe four hours.
22:33Wow.
22:34He was asked
22:35how he felt
22:35at one point.
22:36He said,
22:36I thought I was going
22:37to die
22:38and then he said,
22:39and I'm sure Kim
22:40thought she was going
22:40to die.
22:42The French media
22:43has referred to them
22:44as the grandpa robbers.
22:47Mm-hmm.
22:48Yeah.
22:49Some of them
22:50look quite old
22:51and infirm.
22:52One man has, um...
22:53Cancer.
22:54Yeah.
22:55And one guy's,
22:56one of the main guys
22:57has a cane.
22:58It's very,
22:59looks quite old.
23:01I think the term
23:02the grandpa robbers
23:04is offensive.
23:06It sort of minimizes
23:07their strength
23:08and intensity
23:09and, oh,
23:11they're weak
23:11and feeble.
23:13They couldn't
23:13have been scary.
23:15I didn't think
23:15for a second
23:16that they were
23:17less harmful
23:18because of their age
23:19or that they
23:21wouldn't have killed
23:22me because of
23:23their age.
23:24These men had guns.
23:26Like, they were
23:27bigger men.
23:28When someone
23:29barges in your room
23:30in the middle
23:31of the night
23:31when you're sleeping
23:32with a gun
23:33to your head
23:34and a mask
23:36over their face,
23:37I did not think
23:38that they were old
23:39when they came
23:41in the room.
23:42Wait, so this was
23:43the guy that tied me up?
23:45Kim didn't see
23:46what they looked like,
23:47but she saw their guns
23:48and she felt their force
23:51when they were
23:52taping her up.
23:53They had to show me
23:54in my prep
23:55the photos of what
23:56they look like now
23:57versus what they looked
23:58like 10 years ago.
23:59You would not
24:00recognize them.
24:01They were fit.
24:02They were sound.
24:03they had guns.
24:06Do you want to talk
24:06about logistics tomorrow?
24:08Yeah, we were thinking
24:09it might be important
24:10for you to go with Simone.
24:11That's fine.
24:12Hers is at 9 a.m.
24:14Christy can go with Simone.
24:16Yeah, yeah.
24:16And they can meet you guys
24:17there with my sister.
24:18Whatever you want to do,
24:19you're going to go on
24:20at 1.30.
24:21Perfect.
24:22Oh, I knew.
24:23There was one other thing
24:23I wanted to tell you about.
24:24You're standing.
24:26I'm standing?
24:27You're standing.
24:28You're fabulous.
24:29I hate standing.
24:30You're like this.
24:31They get exhausted.
24:32So it's six hours
24:34of standing.
24:35So wear comfortable shoes.
24:38I don't have any
24:39comfortable shoes.
24:40I know.
24:40I know.
24:40That was probably
24:41a stupid remark.
24:42You did bring those slippers.
24:43You just showed us.
24:44Can you imagine?
24:45No.
24:46I won't.
24:47We have 20 minutes.
25:01I'm done.
25:01I think we're just really
25:06trying to focus on
25:09what we're about to do
25:13and where we're about to go
25:15and Kim's role in all of this
25:17is just to testify
25:20the best of her ability.
25:22That's all she can do
25:23and try to somehow
25:26lead the jurors
25:30and the president
25:31and the judges
25:32to understand
25:33what happened to her
25:34that night
25:35in the middle of the night
25:36and how terrifying
25:38that was
25:39and how it's changed
25:40her entire life.
25:42I hate that she has
25:43to relive it
25:44all over again.
25:45That breaks my heart
25:46for her.
25:47But I'm here
25:48to support her
25:49and just to be here
25:50for her
25:50and help her through
25:51a really hard day.
25:53Also, we're running
25:57a bit late on time.
26:00It's a terrible end
26:01to this very, yeah,
26:03serious.
26:04Miami's also serious.
26:05But a girl's got
26:06to do her hair.
26:06She's got to do her hair.
26:10Today is the day
26:11of the trial
26:12and Simone got up
26:13really early
26:14to go do her testimony
26:16so I can't wait
26:18to hear what it's like.
26:20It's okay.
26:21It's okay.
26:21Are you going to do this
26:27every time I come
26:28say the brands
26:29in the wrong ways?
26:30Yeah, exactly.
26:32Always on camera.
26:33I don't know
26:34whether I just do
26:35like an Oxford,
26:36Saint Laurent Oxford
26:37with laces.
26:39I can't.
26:40Saint Laurent.
26:41Saint Laurent.
26:42Saint Laurent.
26:43How do you say
26:43Saint Laurent?
26:44Saint Laurent.
26:45But I don't go
26:46Saint Laurent
26:47or whatever you say.
26:48You said it more French.
26:49Saint Laurent.
26:50I see.
26:50I said it very French.
26:52Bottega Veneta.
26:54Bottega Veneta.
26:55I get it.
26:56But it's more fun
26:57this way.
26:58Oh.
26:59Simone.
26:59Simone.
27:01Simone.
27:01Tell us everything.
27:05Okay, tell us everything.
27:07Tell us what happened.
27:08It's...
27:09Um...
27:10It was...
27:11Tell us everything.
27:12It's really hot.
27:13I need to just warn you.
27:15Okay.
27:15There's not really a breeze
27:16and there's no air.
27:17I cried a lot.
27:19How many times?
27:20Oh, just the whole time.
27:20I just cried.
27:21So they were happy about that
27:23because I was...
27:24I was very emotional.
27:26I definitely think Simone
27:28needed closure
27:29and I think that
27:30this was really good for her.
27:32This is something
27:33that really affected Simone
27:34and I'm really proud of her
27:37for being so strong
27:38and doing this with me.
27:40One of the main guys
27:42is sitting right...
27:43right here.
27:44Like, like where?
27:45So you're on the podium.
27:47Yeah.
27:47And the guy is literally...
27:49The criminal?
27:49Yeah.
27:50Like in the...
27:51Right out of the corner
27:52of your eye.
27:52Stop it.
27:52Yeah.
27:53They're all around.
27:55And there's like nine of them.
27:57I don't know, Kim.
27:58You would have been proud of me.
27:59I was like pretty...
28:01I'm...
28:01I wasn't really like
28:02shook by them.
28:03Yeah.
28:04Because they were like,
28:05why didn't you go to Kim?
28:06I was like,
28:06you need to understand
28:07the kind of person that Kim is
28:09and the kind of person that I am.
28:11Because like,
28:11they were like so confused
28:13why...
28:14You wouldn't run up there?
28:15Yeah.
28:16I can't even believe
28:17that anyone would even think
28:18that it was her responsibility
28:20to come up
28:21in the middle of what
28:23she knew to be
28:24a scary situation,
28:25hearing me cry
28:26and scream.
28:27Imagine hearing that
28:28and then she's just gonna walk up
28:29and be like,
28:30hey, what's going on?
28:31And like try to break it up
28:32or think that she could.
28:35It happened the way
28:36it was supposed to, ladies.
28:37Yeah.
28:38Thank God you didn't come out.
28:39Simone's very frantic.
28:41I think she wouldn't have
28:42known what to do.
28:44And like,
28:45in an emergency situation,
28:47it just would have been,
28:48it's like great
28:50she didn't come out.
28:51She would have had us killed.
28:52Seriously.
28:53Just with,
28:54just with like,
28:55I knew when to like...
28:58Hold them.
28:59No, we need to hold them.
29:00Shut the up.
29:01I think that they would have got
29:04so defensive,
29:05all the robbers,
29:06if they heard noise downstairs,
29:07if they thought someone else was there.
29:10They had no clue she was there.
29:12And she was able to hear it all
29:13and call for help
29:15and be there the second they left.
29:18and that was the best decision
29:22she ever made.
29:23And had she come up,
29:24we would have died,
29:26for sure.
29:28So what are you,
29:28are you going to do a lot of diamonds?
29:30Yeah.
29:31Like this?
29:32One hundred percent.
29:34Should I wear the ring
29:35that they stole from me
29:37that I ended up replacing
29:39for a bigger one?
29:40Replacing?
29:40Yes.
29:41You absolutely should.
29:43Do you have it?
29:4422 carats, baby.
29:46Oh, my God.
29:47Major, is that the one you got?
29:48This is the one.
29:48Or did Julia get that for you?
29:49Get your clothes for five minutes.
29:52Yes, you're wearing it.
29:54Wait, I, you know,
29:55I love you
29:56and I love everybody in this room,
29:57but do you think
29:58we really should walk in there
29:59with all the diamonds on?
30:01Should we rethink this?
30:02No.
30:04They're not going to take my power.
30:05I want to be who I want to be.
30:07And I feel like they took that away from me
30:09for so long.
30:10Yep.
30:12For years, I didn't wear diamonds
30:14and I couldn't even have fathomed wearing them.
30:17And it changed the way
30:19that I operate in my home
30:20for what I keep in my home.
30:22But like, again,
30:23on the final straw,
30:25you're still telling me
30:26what I'm not allowed to do
30:29because of what these people have done
30:33and so it wouldn't be appropriate
30:34to wear jewelry.
30:37Like, it's not being disrespectful
30:38to the courts, is it?
30:40or she should be able
30:41to wear what she wants?
30:42I mean, if they comment on the jewels,
30:44it's just, that's how I feel.
30:46Mike Rose.
30:46This hand.
30:47Hi, guys.
30:48We spoke to the prosecutor
30:49and she's against wearing
30:51any showy jewelry
30:52in the courtroom.
30:53So both of you
30:54need to really tone it down
30:55and we don't want to upset
30:57anyone in the courtroom.
30:59Like what?
30:59We've got to take it off.
31:00No.
31:00Nice.
31:02Good.
31:03Yousef?
31:04I'm here.
31:04What do you think?
31:05I'm going to take it off.
31:06It's 2025.
31:07Like, who can tell a woman what to do?
31:09Like, it's crazy.
31:10I was being myself
31:11and you tried to literally
31:13rob me of that
31:14and now they're taking away
31:17my experience
31:18to wear whatever I want to wear
31:19out of respect for them
31:22or so it'll look a certain way.
31:24Like, that's kind of where
31:26I draw the line here.
31:28I want to taunt the
31:29out of these losers.
31:31I want to wear whatever
31:32the I want to wear
31:34if I want to wear it.
31:35Kim, why are you feeling?
31:42I'm feeling prepared.
31:45Hey, guys, we have to walk.
31:58It's been a ride.
32:01I guess I had to
32:02go to that place
32:03to get to this one.
32:07Now, some of you
32:07might still be in that place.
32:11Do you feel okay?
32:12Yeah.
32:13Simone made me feel better.
32:16You're going to do great.
32:19I feel really calm and zen
32:21and I just think that's, like,
32:23how I always am.
32:25Oh, my God.
32:26That's a lot of police.
32:29Calmness doesn't take away
32:30feeling emotion for me.
32:32I think I can still be emotional
32:34and get my story out.
32:37You good to go?
32:38Yeah.
32:39But I'll never be fidgety
32:41and nervous to go into something.
32:43It's just not who I am.
32:44I'm not afraid.
32:46I'm not afraid
32:47to take a stand.
32:49Take a stand.
32:50Everybody.
32:51Everybody.
32:52Come take my...
32:54Come take my...
32:54We want this road together
32:57through the storm.
32:58Whatever.
32:59This morning,
33:00Kim Kardashian walking into court,
33:02testifying for the first time
33:04in front of a man
33:04who she says
33:05she believed
33:06were going to kill her.
33:07Kim, Kim, Kim, Kim.
33:08Kim, I saw you.
33:10Kim is a very calm person.
33:12She's in control.
33:13She's strong.
33:15She is not going to get emotional about it
33:17and she's just going to deal with it.
33:19And sometimes,
33:21you know what?
33:21It's really good to be Kim.
33:25Kardashian arrived
33:26and dressed defiantly in diamonds,
33:29including a ring strikingly similar
33:30to the $4 million engagement ring
33:32stolen back in 2016.
33:35Of course,
33:36Kim is going to wear the diamonds.
33:38She's not going to let them win.
33:39She's not going to let them take away
33:41her dignity.
33:42And that's a very brave thing to do.
33:45I'm not afraid.
33:47I'm not afraid.
33:48Take a stand.
33:50I'm just not nervous.
33:52This was less than 10 minutes of my life.
33:55I've lived an amazing life.
33:57I don't know.
33:58That's always given me
33:59a little bit of peace
34:00just to know, like,
34:01what was it?
34:01Eight, nine minutes
34:02of pure terror and panic
34:05aren't going to ruin me.
34:12I'm just so ready to face these guys
34:15and to have this
34:16just really be behind me.
34:20The whole atmosphere,
34:24the energy,
34:25everything feels surreal.
34:27And Kim is three feet
34:29from the perpetrators.
34:31What a scary thing.
34:33Even though it's been
34:34almost nine years
34:35since the robbery,
34:36Kardashian thanked the court
34:38at the start of her testimony
34:39for she said
34:40giving her the opportunity
34:41to share her truth.
34:42When I first saw
34:43the robbers' faces,
34:45I wanted to look them
34:46in the eyes.
34:47I wasn't afraid of it.
34:48Like, I wasn't afraid
34:49to confront them
34:51or see them
34:52or communicate with them.
34:54I wanted to hear
34:55what they had to say.
34:57Kardashian faced the group
34:59accused of stealing
34:59more than $6 million
35:01in jewelry,
35:02giving chilling testimony
35:03about being bound,
35:05gagged,
35:05and held at gunpoint.
35:07A lot of people thought
35:08this was just another part
35:09of a reality show,
35:10a staged act.
35:11And she talked about
35:12how she felt hurt
35:13so many people
35:14didn't believe her.
35:15I definitely remember
35:16people even
35:17in the vicinity
35:18near us,
35:19like,
35:19questioning
35:20if this really happened.
35:21and that was...
35:23It's really gross.
35:25The narrative that
35:26my daughter would make
35:29something like this up
35:30was ludicrous.
35:31I mean,
35:31it was just unfathomable
35:34that somebody could
35:35have said something like that.
35:37Many critics think
35:38Kim Kardashian's attack
35:39was an inside job
35:40or even faked.
35:42Kardashian filed
35:43a federal lawsuit
35:44for three posts
35:45which claimed
35:46that Kardashian
35:47faked the robbery.
35:49Howard Stern
35:50was like,
35:51famously mocking it
35:52all the time
35:53and saying that
35:53it was just,
35:54I'm sick
35:55and it's such a joke
35:56and I made it all up.
35:57I remember
35:58he was so defiant
36:00about it.
36:01And I was like,
36:01how can you be so certain?
36:03Like,
36:03people trust you.
36:05You know,
36:05and that always stuck
36:06with me also.
36:08Trusted media
36:09and people
36:10were spreading
36:11this narrative
36:13as if it was
36:14something to think about.
36:16Even
36:16my ex-husband
36:18had said,
36:20you know,
36:20and you've
36:21faked your robbery
36:23for a TV show
36:25and had said that
36:26in front of
36:26all these people.
36:28That was so
36:30like a knife
36:32to my heart.
36:35Just to think
36:36that someone
36:36wouldn't believe you
36:38is like,
36:39that's so close
36:40to you,
36:41that should know you,
36:42that should know
36:43how much
36:44that affected
36:45your life.
36:45it just really
36:47bothered me
36:48for
36:48like,
36:50you don't know
36:51who I am.
36:53So to finally
36:54be able to go
36:55to trial
36:55and,
36:57and face
36:59these people
36:59and hear their
37:00like,
37:02accounts
37:02and apologies
37:03and like,
37:05I'm like,
37:06see guys,
37:06it was real.
37:08You know?
37:08I'm happy.
37:11It's over.
37:12I think it was,
37:40you know,
37:42a heroic effort
37:43for her.
37:45She testified
37:46this was a
37:46devastating experience
37:47and when
37:49she was asked
37:50to come,
37:51she was very
37:51committed to it
37:52for a variety
37:53of reasons,
37:54including the fact
37:55that she herself
37:56wants to become
37:56a lawyer.
37:57She's committed
37:58to the justice
37:58system in all
37:59its forms
37:59and I think
38:00it will help
38:01her and also
38:02Simone,
38:03who testified
38:03this morning,
38:05get past
38:05these events
38:06finally.
38:06Oh,
38:10thank God
38:10that's done.
38:12You did great.
38:12I'm so proud
38:13of you.
38:15That was
38:16maybe six
38:18hours
38:18of torture
38:20and it's
38:21over.
38:22Kim did
38:22amazing.
38:23When is
38:24the sentencing?
38:25Do you know?
38:26Two weeks.
38:28She wanted
38:29to take her
38:30power back
38:30and so that's
38:32exactly what
38:32she did.
38:33She's back.
38:47I'm exhausted.
38:49Just my feet
38:50hurt.
38:50How was it?
38:51It was good.
38:53It was good.
38:53It was necessary.
38:55Chris,
38:55how are you
38:55feeling?
38:56It was a long
38:57time.
38:57I'm waiting
38:57for a lamb.
38:58Relieved.
38:59Very relieved.
39:01I hate that
39:02she had to
39:02relive it
39:03but she
39:03was so
39:04strong
39:04and I
39:05think she
39:06needed to
39:06feel those
39:07emotions too.
39:08It's very
39:09freeing to
39:10be able to
39:10say this
39:11is what
39:11happened to
39:12me and
39:12this is
39:13what I
39:13lived through
39:14and then
39:14the fact
39:15that you
39:15said that
39:15you forgave
39:16them was
39:17very
39:18strong.
39:21It's also
39:22my truth.
39:23I can't
39:23live my
39:24whole life
39:25holding a
39:26grudge.
39:26Truly,
39:28they changed
39:29my life
39:29for the
39:30better.
39:31I wanted
39:32to say
39:32that and
39:32I thought
39:32my attorneys
39:33were going
39:33to count.
39:34They'd lose
39:35it if I
39:35said that.
39:36To say
39:36thank you
39:37for doing
39:38this to me.
39:39Do you mean
39:39just in the way of
39:39not being
39:40materialistic or
39:41in the way
39:41that you...
39:41Yeah,
39:42just on what
39:42I value in
39:43life,
39:43the things
39:44that matter
39:44to me,
39:45what's
39:45important to
39:46me.
39:47You know,
39:48yeah,
39:48it's fun.
39:49I'll wear
39:49this all day
39:50long,
39:50you know,
39:51but do I
39:52really care?
39:53Yeah.
39:54Just kidding.
39:55No.
39:55You know what
39:56I mean?
39:56It doesn't
39:57move me.
39:57I'm looking
39:59at this
39:59more as
40:00an experience
40:01that was
40:02a really
40:03big growth
40:04experience
40:04for me
40:05in my life
40:06and it
40:06changed me
40:07and made
40:08me a better
40:09person,
40:09so I don't
40:10really look
40:11at it
40:11as negatively
40:13as maybe
40:15some people
40:16would take
40:16it.
40:17I think,
40:18well,
40:18I know,
40:19Kim's focus
40:20of material
40:21things prior
40:22to the robbery
40:24were on
40:25an all-time
40:25high and
40:27and that
40:28situation
40:29I think
40:29definitely
40:30shook her
40:30up where
40:31she had
40:31to realize
40:32what her
40:33priorities are
40:33and sure,
40:34if you get
40:34stripped of
40:35everything,
40:36does that
40:36mean they
40:37take everything
40:37from you?
40:38And absolutely
40:38not.
40:39She still
40:40has everything
40:41that matters
40:43and I think
40:44it just really
40:44made her
40:45lean into
40:46who she
40:47is and
40:48lean on
40:49family and
40:50I love the
40:50version that
40:51she is now.
40:52because you
40:53were like
40:5410 feet
40:55from the
40:55defendants.
40:56Was there
40:57any feeling
40:58that came up
40:58in you
40:59when you
40:59saw them?
41:01Like I'm
41:01going to
41:02cut you?
41:03Yeah,
41:03pretty much.
41:05Simone,
41:06come in.
41:06Let's just
41:07recap.
41:07Hi.
41:08Tell me
41:09everything.
41:10How was it?
41:11I can't believe
41:11you were talking
41:12for five and a half
41:13hours.
41:13Uh-huh.
41:14Oh my God.
41:15I got emotional.
41:16I read that
41:18you were...
41:18Oh really?
41:18Yeah.
41:19I was reading
41:19the like live
41:20updates.
41:21Were you surprised?
41:22Well they read
41:23me...
41:23The guy said
41:23an apology also
41:25which is the
41:26guy that tied
41:26me up.
41:27Yeah.
41:27So he wrote
41:27me a letter
41:28in 2017
41:29and I didn't
41:31read it and
41:32so he read
41:33it out loud,
41:33the judge,
41:35and then I
41:36was like
41:36hysterically crying
41:37to where they
41:38had to like
41:38get me tissue.
41:39Really?
41:40Yeah and like
41:41tears were
41:42coming down.
41:43Tears were
41:44just like rolling
41:44down my face
41:45and I was like
41:46f***.
41:47You have that
41:48letter.
41:48I do.
41:50You want me
41:50to read it
41:51to you guys?
41:52After seeing
41:53you in a
41:54French TV
41:54show,
41:55after seeing
41:56the emotion
41:57and the
41:58psychological
41:58damage I
41:59inflicted on
42:00you,
42:01I have
42:01decided to
42:02write.
42:03Not to get
42:04any kind
42:04of leniency
42:05from you
42:05or the
42:06court.
42:07I admit
42:07what I
42:08have done.
42:09I come
42:10to you
42:10as a
42:11human being
42:11and want
42:12to tell
42:12you how
42:13much I
42:13regret
42:14what I
42:14did.
42:15It
42:15destroyed
42:16me to
42:16see you
42:17in tears.
42:17I am
42:19very sorry
42:19for the
42:20suffering I
42:20made you
42:21endure.
42:22You,
42:23your family
42:24and your
42:24children.
42:26Of course,
42:26the past
42:27cannot be
42:28undone,
42:28but I hope
42:29this letter
42:30can help you
42:31forget bit
42:31by bit the
42:32trauma that I
42:33made you
42:33suffer with
42:35my most
42:36sincere
42:36apologies.
42:37memories.
42:38I think
42:39that's very
42:39sweet.
42:42And I
42:42do think
42:43it is the
42:43right thing
42:44to do
42:44and I
42:45do,
42:45I'm very
42:46like a
42:47person that
42:47lives by
42:48what is the
42:49right thing
42:49to do.
42:51I think
42:52that's very
42:53like noble
42:54of him
42:54to have
42:55done that.
42:56You know?
42:57but the
43:00podium's here
43:00so like
43:01if you're
43:01the guy
43:02I literally
43:03turned to
43:03him and I
43:04said I
43:04forgive you.
43:06Like thank
43:06you for
43:07your letter.
43:08During the
43:09robbery he
43:10kept getting
43:11close to me
43:11and like
43:12saying to
43:12me like
43:13just shh
43:14and you
43:14okay?
43:15Like that
43:16was in
43:16English.
43:16He would
43:17just go
43:17shh.
43:18You
43:18okay?
43:19Shh.
43:19In that
43:20moment I
43:20was like
43:21okay he
43:22doesn't
43:23want to
43:23hurt me.
43:24At least
43:24this guy
43:25doesn't
43:25want to.
43:27It was
43:28like the
43:28glimmer
43:29that made
43:29me feel
43:30like it
43:30might be
43:31okay.
43:32So I
43:32definitely
43:33have way
43:33more sympathy
43:34to him
43:35that I
43:36absolutely
43:37forgive him.
43:39You know?
43:41The one
43:41guy that
43:42wrote the
43:42book he
43:42was like
43:43do you
43:43have
43:43anything
43:43to say
43:43to him?
43:44And I
43:44was like
43:45yeah I
43:45think it's
43:45kind of
43:45like tasteless.
43:47First you
43:47come in
43:48here and
43:48take all
43:48my stuff
43:49and then
43:49you want
43:49to profit
43:50even more.
43:51and then
43:52he made
43:52a statement
43:53and I
43:53didn't
43:53turn around.
43:54Then at
43:55the end
43:55I was
43:57like you
43:57know what
43:57I appreciate
43:58all of
43:59their
43:59statements
43:59and I
44:00forgive
44:00all of
44:01them.
44:01Kim
44:01talks a
44:02lot about
44:02second
44:03chances
44:03through
44:05her
44:05advocacy
44:06work
44:06but
44:07it's
44:08easier to
44:08do that
44:09when you're
44:09not the
44:09victim.
44:11You know
44:11it shows
44:12that she's
44:13actually
44:13walking
44:15the walk.
44:17Yeah I
44:17mean I
44:17think with
44:17all the
44:18prison
44:18reform
44:18work that
44:19I do
44:19it has
44:20opened up
44:21a different
44:21level of
44:22empathy
44:22that I
44:23have in
44:23my soul
44:24but I
44:25also think
44:26that there
44:26is accountability
44:27and there
44:28is growth
44:28and there
44:29is rehabilitation
44:29to be able
44:30to be better
44:31in our
44:31society
44:32when they
44:32get out.
44:33We always
44:34on our
44:35chats
44:35are like
44:36how do
44:36you do
44:37this
44:37with
44:38grace
44:38you know
44:40how
44:40I mean
44:41she's a
44:42big person.
44:43Like we
44:43can all
44:44forgive
44:44anyone
44:45that is
44:45like
44:46wronged
44:47us
44:47or done
44:47something
44:47it doesn't
44:48mean I
44:48want them
44:49in my
44:49circle
44:49and I
44:49want them
44:50around
44:50but I
44:51forgive you
44:51and like
44:52I hope
44:52you have
44:53the best
44:53life
44:53but I'm
44:54always a
44:55forgiver
44:55I think
44:56that's
44:56always
44:56who I've
44:57been.
44:57And it
44:58was hard
44:58to listen
44:58to.
44:59It felt
45:00good to
45:00like get
45:00it out.
45:02Be emotional.
45:03Yeah.
45:04I'm so happy
45:05this trial's
45:06over.
45:07You know
45:07we'll wait
45:08and hear
45:08the verdict
45:08and then
45:09we can
45:09move on
45:10but I
45:11have
45:11I have
45:12school
45:12to do
45:13I have
45:13I have
45:14some things
45:14to do
45:15that's
45:15like my
45:16personality
45:17is like
45:18I checked
45:18that box
45:19off
45:19that's
45:19done
45:20and let's
45:21move on
45:22we did
45:22it.
45:24You should
45:24be very
45:24proud of
45:25yourself
45:25Kim
45:25you did
45:26a great
45:26job
45:27and
45:28it's over
45:29it's over
45:30and
45:31it's over
45:32I'm gonna
45:33go take a
45:33bath
45:34okay
45:35or wash
45:35I'm seeing
45:37everything
45:38so different
45:40like I'm
45:42looking at
45:43the world
45:44through a
45:45brand new
45:46we have a
45:49puff
45:50we have
45:50powder
45:50we have
45:51it all
45:51cool
45:52it's our
45:53final day
45:54in Paris
45:54and we're
45:55just gonna
45:55go shopping
45:56and walking
45:58around
45:59and it's
45:59been a minute
46:00since I've
46:01been here
46:01I feel
46:01like I've
46:01always just
46:02been really
46:02in and out
46:03I'm excited
46:04for it
46:04my feelings
46:13about the
46:14city are
46:15super special
46:17I'm such a
46:17sentimental
46:18person I
46:18don't think
46:19that experience
46:20is gonna
46:20ruin a
46:21whole
46:22lifetime
46:23of me
46:23being in
46:24love with
46:25Paris
46:25and wanting
46:27to have
46:27new experiences
46:28there and
46:29new
46:29memories
46:30or slap
46:33coffee
46:34why do
46:35they call
46:36it slap
46:36happy
46:37somebody's
46:38so happy
46:39you just
46:39beat the
46:39shit out
46:40of them
46:40oh my god
46:42it just
46:43feels so
46:44good to
46:44see my
46:45daughter
46:45having some
46:46fun with
46:46a smile
46:47on her
46:47face
46:47it just
46:48feels so
