00:00Steve's gonna be our connection point to get this project finished I wanted to
00:04point out we had a visitor oh my gosh it's a bear any major hiccup what are
00:10you thinking the fireplace has me up at night because it's in zoning the
00:16biggest variable is the fireplace other than that I feel like it's smooth sailing
00:21from here but I shouldn't have said that out loud sounds like I get to keep both
00:23my fireplaces you're gonna jinx yourself what makes the mountain house so unique
00:38and perfect for our family is that it's got three distinct structures and it
00:42finally feels like we're getting close on all of them it's got the main house
00:46which now has all of this beautiful wood that's blending perfectly and then
00:50there's the large cottage which is looking great with the new plaster that we
00:53added and then the tiny cottage this is the cottage that really spoke to Ella so
00:59she's designed it the paint the wallpaper all of that is done now it's just the
01:05little things that are gonna really make it feel special and today we're hoping
01:10to find some treasures at one of our favorite stores in Waco I love you see
01:13art trays for your coffee table a holder for your soap you know just like anything
01:18I don't really use bar soap but oh well you should it's like the ruffle but do you think that's too
01:30much ruffle no we should change it up as I'm saying both oh so you have a pairing you know mm-hmm
01:36we found a lot of these really cool little treasures that are gonna be perfect in Ella's space
01:42since Ella's starting college in a month today is a really important day to just nail down all of
01:51the final details to this little cottage so we taped out the exact measurements I wanted Ella to
01:57be able to see how the selections that she chose for the space work in it so we have a plan to work
02:02off of what made you go green and blue that's so fun and unexpected and I love that I went to feel
02:09like cozy and a little bit darker yeah but then the kitchen to feel more like light yeah so that's why
02:14we went with the cream but then the green cabinets to tie it all together you did a really good job Ella has
02:22always been from early on very interested in design but also just has that natural instinct now that
02:28we've got all the dimensions this is a lot smaller than I remember here's your settee thoughts on lamp
02:38and rug I like the lamp okay like the little ruffly things but it might be a little bit tall that's what
02:45I'm nervous about I do wonder if we get a plan B for the lamp mm-hmm trying to find one that's more
02:49the scale of the settee how do you like the settee I like it I think it looks good and then with your
02:56fireplace here the little nook that you created here this may be a little big let's see what this
03:01looks like I just love the legs I think that's cute she has found a way to make the space feel so
03:10dreamy and cozy when it's a small space you always hear people say paint it light to make it bigger well
03:16you chose to go dark you kind of bucked the rules and said but this is what I want it's fun to see
03:24her come into our own style on your first design project you really stepped out to kind of just
03:31teach me something which is like don't be afraid in a tiny space to go big and I love it because I feel
03:39like it's you it's the cutest little space thank you and crew is gonna love it it's been about three
03:58weeks since our last trip to Colorado and we've made a ton of progress most of the drywall is up we started
04:06installing the oak paneling on the ceilings and the walls throughout the house we added the trim in
04:12that primary bedroom and the parquet floors went into the reading room we're still waiting on those
04:19permits for the fireplaces but we're really moving forward it's just a fun day to be here and to see
04:26all of this activity we got a lot going on so get ready to enter the beehive oh man oh hi guys
04:33yes hey Steve you made it home yes sir home sweet home how you doing good good good hanging
04:39in full didn't it turn out sweet yeah it turned out great man I knew I wanted to do like a special
04:44treatment in that foyer where it's kind of like hey you got a small space I wanted to make it feel
04:49a little extra special a little more intentional so we did this like a stair step install with the
04:54wood I can't believe it I love it yeah this feels special how hard to do this downstairs like
05:01I know we didn't plan for it but anywhere where I'm doing this wood this is going to feel dramatic
05:07because even looking up but knowing the walls will be like that there's almost no dimension
05:11do you want to see what you're wanting to show us in here so this is the tongue and groove that we
05:17were originally going to go with compare this to the stair step or the step I think entryway I just
05:22feel like if you could add that little piece it would just make it richer so my question to Steve was
05:27do we have enough material to accomplish this downstairs and in the main living and kitchen
05:31area you just say you can or you can't and I'll just get over I can do it how's that because the
05:36tongue and groove we can use as this so we're not losing material and we're not going to have to buy
05:41new material perfect awesome Steve is like so nice love this guy he's like not only do I have enough
05:47material contractors are built to say no you you have to force a contractor to get to the yes we'll
05:54get more bang for a buck doing it like this yeah at the very beginning I didn't know to say no so when
06:00she asked for something I said yes and I was romantically involved with this woman so in some
06:05ways I was trying to impress her every step of the way but it was like Steve is just kind of like that
06:10he's like let's do it I do want to see the reading nook well that's dramatic oh Steve this is that
06:19floor that you sent me yes it's so beautiful wanted to get our eyes on the flooring in the
06:25little reading nook it's this beautiful reclaimed parquet flooring I really wanted to add texture and
06:30more story next to all the simpler paneling love this place it's like man these old floors really look
06:36like uh you've stepped back in time it does yeah well let's go look at the primary yes sir
06:40so we're just about done with your primary oh my gosh gorgeous the trim in the primary it felt like
06:49this beautiful reveal I hadn't seen it fully installed the goal was you see a little feminine
06:54you see a little masculine detail you've got the beams that are masculine you have the wood that feels
06:58more textured but then you have a little arch detail that makes it feel a little more cottage
07:02feminine it's almost all you you haven't seen it done all you're looking at are the big shiny
07:08are you going to screw it up from here out is that what you're trying to imply here of me and a little
07:12balance of the ginger right here joe remember last time we were here that artist was sitting there
07:17hand painting these beams it was like unbelievable he was so meticulous giving it the illusion of cracks
07:23this really was least least expensive option yeah it just looks super sharp man and the space
07:29super tiny and we already knew that's what i love but it's gonna work this wide case opening
07:34i know that illusion that it feels bigger 100 it's awesome so we have three samples on the deck for
07:41you guys to look at and plus we have your window box up yep the window box looks really good this is
07:47obviously gonna patina over time but i think this color yeah i'd go the darker route yeah so there's
07:53your answer done sign easy okay darker than lighter bear fence bear fence the artist you do all seal
07:59we're gonna design us a gate but metal kind of going with the stair rail and like a normal man gate
08:05if you think something simple and minimal those no pose at the end we're gonna go at 42 inches
08:12we'll keep the bear out hey steve what do you think about us building a fire pit down here by the river
08:18it'd be fun to incorporate some little quirky patio sitting area oh okay i hope the bear gate
08:24works and with this new fire pit we have a lot to accomplish in the next six weeks but it feels like
08:30everything's coming together and we have a few more days here to finalize details for the rest of the
08:34house oh good i really wanted to see these cabinets i know they've gotten a lot done they're so pretty i
08:48love the vent hood i love the scale today's the walkthrough of the kitchen the more i started
08:54thinking about what this home would become it was really around the kitchen you know 15 to 20 people
09:00could be here at one time and so the existing kitchen was not conducive to what i knew we were
09:05wanting to create the cabinets are halfway installed and they look very lodgy like i like the way that
09:10that's coming together it's just finalizing the floor stain okay that feels too orange wondering if
09:17they can come in with a bleach so it just feels a little more natural okay because it's making that
09:22look green it is the backsplash is about to get installed because we finally received those hand-painted
09:28tiles this is the new batch of tile they did try to eliminate some of the variation and darken and
09:34i think that looks good color so i think it turned out good okay the tile has been one of those things
09:39where the color variation has been a bit of an issue but i saw the tile today it's beautiful it's a lighter
09:44green but it's still gonna be pretty i mean i feel like it's gonna still play off of what's happening
09:48on the outside of the windows this was meant to be the kitchen all along oh that's crazy moving that
09:53kitchen from where it was into this living room feels natural i cannot wait to get to cooking in
09:58there and having that huge table right down the middle looks so nice with the windows it's looking
10:05awesome i know that when we leave it's in good hands when we get back to texas the biggest thing
10:11on my list is furniture i really want to find the perfect dining table for the kitchen
10:15we're back in texas and i'm on the hunt for some big furniture pieces for the main house and round
10:24top i love this little detail i love finding older pieces with tons of character and giving them new
10:32lights mixing new stuff with antique accents creates great design moments for almost any project
10:38good news we found a dining table i think out of everything we were looking for
10:44the table was the thing we thought we were gonna have to custom build it's gonna be right down the
10:50center of the kitchen it's like over 40 inches wide which is perfect so i think this will seat about 12
10:57and we love it it's been a long day i have no other words to say except it's been very successful
11:04so it's almost time for ella to head off to college we finished the styling plan
11:13for her cottage but there's one last finishing touch i want to work on right before she leaves
11:18i love this little shelf ella the scallop i think is really sweet and i also know you love mugs and
11:24cups so we needed a place to put those on the walls today ella and i are doing a little makeover on a
11:31piece that will go in the kitchen pantry in our cottage we found this cute little vintage scallop
11:36shelf but she didn't love the color or the finish and so today we're painting it this is where i want you
11:41to decide do you want to paint it green the color of your cabinets or you paint cream the color of
11:46the wall i think i like the cream perfect
11:49ella this is what i used to do the early days of magnolia where i was painting everything and then
11:57sanding it i loved that i could take an old piece and just put a little paint on it and a little like
12:03i would say the fairy dusting of the sanding and watching that fly off the shelves because i think
12:07that's what people love they love that story and that character i don't want it to be perfect so
12:13i'm just kind of coming in you want it perfect well do you it's like a little bit cleaner strokes
12:22cleaner strokes okay i love that she's taking control and she has no problem telling me this is what she
12:30wants i keep telling chip oh she's gonna come back and be my boss i'm a little scared i'll show you
12:37how i like to just sand some of the edges and to let that wood come through so it doesn't look like
12:41a piece someone just built for you okay once this is dry you're gonna come in and you're gonna do it
12:47just like naturally like hey where would a distress be does that make sense uh-huh
12:52getting to do this with her right before she goes off to college feels really meaningful
12:59especially on a project like this that does feel so much about family and being together
13:04she's going off to college in one week i'm gonna be a freaking mess
13:10okay i can't wait to see your art project ella thank you i'll see you soon
13:16we're in colorado for just a few days to check on everything one last time before we come back for
13:26staging there's a lot of things happening on the cabins and then the main house right before we left
13:32waco we got some really good news from steve yeah i wanted to let you know we were able to
13:38finally receive the permit for the fireplace that is awesome so now all the masonry for the fireplaces
13:43can start going in and the additional stair step paneling i asked steve for has gone up
13:48in the small cottage we added the arched openings ella wanted for a more feminine feel to the space
13:54and today chip is installing the cutie tile that ella picked out ella left for college a week ago
14:02okay here we are we're doing all the finishing touches on ella's dorm ella is done setting up her
14:09little coffee bar cart ella how do you feel good you feel good hi chip hi babe oh wow that's cute
14:18as i got to unpacking this i am not gonna lie i was a tad surprised about the color uh well palette
14:26i mean literally maroon it's burgundy a and m aggies have no place in any project that i've ever been
14:33a part of in my life i think these aren't ours this is ella's project she wanted some color ella's tile
14:40selection she's got maroon baby blue mixed into this template there's no baler green there's no baler gold
14:47she didn't go to baylor university her mom and i's alma mater so he feels a little bit betrayed
14:53hi ella do you have a second he's laying your tile do you like it i think that looks good but you
15:02know what's not right maroon tile babe ella for real yeah it reminds him of a certain college ella
15:10ella do you feel guilty at all no i like it oh yeah she's gotta go oh okay i love you ella rose
15:19you did great i'm only kidding wait i'm gonna show you one more thing ready look at your arches
15:23isn't that cute i like those hey hey baby tell ella i'm sorry and to come back okay okay ellen love you
15:30okay okay i love you bye she had to eat her lunch the fact that i'm getting to install some of the tile
15:39that she had a part in selecting is the sweet daddy moment here we are sending our little girl off to
15:45an entirely different city and i feel proud joe doesn't want to hear it she only wants to hear
15:51hold me hey but i'm i'm like getting better every day this is like risky like i'm glad that she
15:58took a couple of chances i feel like i'm learning from her babe i'm so proud of you both good job
16:03okay all right i'll get it done
16:04man it's been a great week a lot has been going on downstairs in the main house
16:15the wallpaper is starting to go up in the bunk room we're laying the tile in the bunk room bathroom
16:21down by the river we've been working on that fire pit that i'm really excited about
16:27and we're hustling to get the foundation for both of these fireplaces completed on the exterior
16:33wow look at this y'all coming together that's massive yeah it's amazing because we got two
16:44fireplaces so they're working on the foundation on the outside for the main fireplaces in the house
16:49it's crazy to think that they need that much support to carry a couple of fireplaces so you're saying
16:56upstairs it'll be more this side and then downstairs it's this side which is hence the width yeah we're
17:01actually going to angle the chimney flue under the deck and tie into this fireplace above this is
17:07massive concrete wow it looks like we're building a subway underneath this thing once we get this up
17:12then we can go inside and do all the veneered stone and do the fire brick you're good to go
17:16heck yeah i'm gonna go check out your hard work downstairs yeah all right the patio so we decided
17:22to split up uh chip wanted to see what steve had worked on down on the river with the fire pit and
17:26then i wanted to check on the bunk room and then a few other spaces downstairs oh this looks cute
17:32it's quaint which is what i wanted bunk beds when are they coming in can be here in about 11 12 days
17:38this is being made in the shop and it's going to come assembled so this wall will go wallpaper we got
17:45the green ceilings and then you've got the entry into the bathroom let me see that yep and we'll get
17:50in there and we'll put in some shelving to fit look at so we started putting in your tile it looks so
17:56cute in the bathroom tile one is something again a little more feminine a little more charming and
18:01cottagey i just like it's so sweet and it's a nice balance to all the wood on the walls and even on
18:06the ceiling i say the downstairs is about 80 there so i just feel like i'm moving into every space and
18:12i can see the finish line oh man this looks great well done steve this is the spot for sure
18:22joe is gonna love it down here looks great this is awesome this fire pit and this awesome flagstone
18:30sitting area i can see this being a really special addition to our family i mean when you think about
18:37memories and time spent with your family it feels like there's going to be some special gains moments
18:42that occur on this property and for joe and i we hope to uh facilitate a situation like that you know
18:49amen sweet chip i was just it must have been the ragweed
18:57i don't think i've processed the yellow thing and i may be processing it here as we speak for the first
19:07time i'm about to cry too seeing the vision seeing the future and planning for it that's really been the
19:12best part of this whole project and we can't wait to come back in a few weeks to finish bringing our dream
19:17to life okay mikey i need your help hey with the colorado indoor plant vibe construction on the
19:36mountain house is almost finished so i'm finalizing all the styling and everything we're going to be
19:42putting in the house the thing i've kind of waited a little bit on are plants which i wanted to source
19:48in waco at one of my favorite greenhouses i wanted mikey to come with me today because she's the plant
19:54lady expert of america and colorado and texas right thanks the vibe is like cottage meets mountain lodge
20:03i think rubber plants feels good i think anything that's trailing anything that's sweet
20:08you love colorado you love the vibes i feel like you're gonna be the best this one she knows
20:15colorado pretty well mikey would work there in the summer she'd also play guitar for money you know and
20:22maybe got a dollar she and her friends would like go with mattresses we would boulder and we'd take our
20:30mattress and it would be our crash pad can you imagine me doing that
20:34a lot of plants actually adapt plants are just so sweet i love plants my favorite thing though
20:43mikey because you have not seen this place there'll be room for all of us we never get to actually
20:48vacation together but i feel like because there's these little side cottages we could all fit the week
20:55that we go to put all the furniture in you probably can't come because you have six kids but if you can
21:01come will you help me with the plants with the plants or to be our first official guest i would
21:06love to so if you want i'll tell you the date and like this will be fun i think this is a good start
21:12this house just feels like mikey's gonna love it so it feels right that she's gonna be the first
21:19to see it in a few weeks
21:21we finally finished all of our preparations in waco and over the last few weeks trucks have made their
21:33way to colorado for staging at the mountain house the distance has definitely been a challenge but
21:38now that it's all ready to go i can't wait to start bringing these spaces to life so it's the first day
21:44of staging at the mountain house so exciting i have been waiting for this day for it feels like a long
21:50time this reminds me of every other fixer where we're moving into rooms that are still not completely
21:55finished there's still so many workers in the house what we're trying to do just for our minds is
22:01maybe try to finish one room at a time as far as getting everything hung and all of the furniture placed
22:07but i love the energy of just the hustle um the saw everything about it it's like work is happening
22:15so this is where we're at this room looks pretty much done look over here peek in here hi
22:24this i'm not even going to think about that oh there's a big bear seriously i mean big i'm not
22:29kidding see him right there by the big rock look at him crossing over oh my god oh oh my gosh
22:34oh too bad i'll never go down there he's kind of cute george who missed it they all think it's
22:41funny it's totally fine so i actually forgot what we were talking about but we're back the bears
22:47crossed the river and there's so much to do i'm just going to pretend that never happened
22:52what i'm trying to do is get it down to the bra
22:58all of the intricate details of these legs now have this highlight on it because we sanded them down
23:05chip isn't here but if he was i wouldn't let him do this because to me you have to have a light
23:10hand you can overdo it and then it just feels a little too shabby or something so we're going to
23:17go try this out this is such a tight timeline on just trying to get everything in the house
23:23and so we have so many magnolia family members here with us i just like this is like a fun party
23:29where do we start everyone's kind of tackling each room we planned it pretty tight to where
23:36everything's like a map basically when everyone got here it was like this goes in room one this
23:40goes in room two so it's so thought out so they just cleaned out this portion of ella's cottage and
23:47i'm wanting to get the bulk of her stuff in here she actually comes tomorrow which i'm so excited i
23:52haven't seen her since i dropped her off at her dorm really trying to get everything buttoned up in
23:57there today and tomorrow before she gets here so she can just have full reign in there you know this
24:03project has been very personal as a family and an extended family this is where we come it's not just
24:09about i want it to be pretty how does this tell the story of us here now as i'm stepping in and it's
24:15all coming together it's like ah it feels like it's right we're about 80 done with the staging in
24:25the main house but we're still waiting on the kitchen and the living room in the meantime we're
24:30focusing on the cottages i like this i do too ella really wanted to be here as we started moving in
24:39and so we timed it to where she could fly here over the weekend and tackle her little cottage
24:47she's been in here putting all her stuff together so i'm gonna check on her if you want something here
24:53we were thinking cherries or persimmons like persimmons persimmons yeah that's a soft one if
24:59you want to eat these are her favorites before i pop this do you like this audrey ficus here yeah maybe
25:05a stool so put it on a little stool yes because i think i'd kind of like it to like then let me go
25:11find a couple stool options did we have more candlesticks like that one because i think that
25:17looks a little bit weird by itself yeah i will go get you more candles throughout this journey with ella
25:24taking a back seat letting her lead has been so fun i feel like i'm the design intern ma'am
25:30do any of these suit your fancy so i got you all of these little things if you like them that's cute
25:41i think so yeah that's really sweet you know there's so many things that i love about this
25:46little cottage i feel like ella really saw from day one i love the kitchen i love how she played with blue
25:55and green she was not afraid to mix colors do you feel good about the kitchen um yes you want to
26:03tackle it yourself mm-hmm okay i'm gonna go work on the big cottage if you need me i'm right over there
26:11have some fun in here babe okay i'm proud of you this place is so cute thank you the last time i saw ella
26:18when i dropped her off at college almost a month ago so getting to see her and how much she's grown
26:24in just that one month period it does something to my heart crew and chip get here tomorrow crew
26:31doesn't know he's about to see his big sister so we've kept that from him because he has missed her
26:35so much and she has missed him so that's going to be a fun little reunion especially because he'll be
26:41the first to see ella's first finished design project and then my sister mikey and her husband david
26:47get here the day after that so we've got a really tight timeline to button everything up
26:59oh my i've been waiting for you you've got your boots on hey look what i need help with today
27:07remember this little cottage do you see that blue tape what do you think that says what so what does
27:13that mean don't step don't step on the hold on hold on before you go in hold on one second
27:17i need you to peel the blue tape off okay wow okay are you ready to see your little fixer-upper

27:44oh my goodness do you love it i missed you too buddy do you want to look around
27:49look up there isn't it awesome this is so cool
28:00it's so cute it's so fun to see ella and y'all having fun so much fun you wait till you see this
28:07i can't wait do you love the little cottage yes look at our little fireplace so cute we need to collect
28:15some pine cones okay for our little swan and look you need to do some artwork for that okay some
28:22watercolor so that we can put it right here okay okay do you know what you're gonna draw
28:27probably a fish probably a fish you want to go look in the bathroom

28:37that's for your laundry or we can put the fish that i can't catch in here that's a great idea
28:50this is like the perfect size for both of them probably my favorite reveal ever
29:00we are at the last day before the reveal at the main house and as only we can do it you know it's like
29:06there's never a dull moment there's so much action going on here in the mountain house
29:10i don't know if we've had another project where there's like multiple little units yeah this feels
29:14like a little tiny compound we are finishing up the main space which is the kitchen dining and the
29:20living room we can't control that right now but what we can control is the tiny cottage and the big
29:25cottage now that the big cottage is done i really want to chip to walk through it we repainted the
29:31sighting a really beautiful green added new shutters and then the hand-hewn beams on the porch
29:37love that we've been able to refurbish those cool rocking chairs after you ladies first
29:45let me see what you've done to the place so cute what have you done to the place
29:51as you step into the house we added the fireplace which i think is the biggest statement in that room
29:57and then the two new windows golly babe the place looks great look at ella and crew
30:09best friends i was really thinking about our boys when i designed this cottage
30:14this just feels like a more masculine feeling space
30:18we painted the ceiling and the trim a really pretty green and then we plastered all of the
30:26walls and the main space which is really like moody and earthy and then added a few feminine touches
30:33we added some gingham fabric to the window seat i love that that was existing so wanted to really
30:39highlight that something about it is super charming you know the dutch door that was in the existing
30:44kitchen and the main house is now here and i feel like it feels just perfect in that spot
30:51and we just galley kitchen this by adding all new cabinets because there's a shot
30:57added this cute little scallop bin hood which i love love it and then this really pretty
31:02tile for the backsplash use the existing butcher block countertops chip remember the lights oh
31:08of course said those are going to take another month or two okay we had these for ella's cottage and
31:13her ceilings were too low so these are placeholders yes good and then into the bathroom
31:21we kept the tub sink toilet all in place kept the existing vanity added new countertops
31:27and then we did a really pretty black and white tile on the wall
31:30and then added new light fixtures and hardware i just think this turned out great this was simple
31:35and last but not least the bedroom i love this love this plaid wallpaper yeah i feel like we just
31:44matched the green to the wallpaper even adding those pretty sconces just elevated a little bit but
31:50gorgeous babe again that mix of like masculine but then with these little floral chairs so it didn't feel
31:56so boyish it was like a mix of both well you did it you just gave me the fastest tour and uh fixer
32:03upper history well done guess what i think i have about 10 minutes left and we can move in he keeps
32:08telling me 10 minutes because i just got to finish those beams in that kitchen we can move into the
32:12kitchen and we're finally done and then the big house reveal tomorrow let's go okay well done babe i'm
32:18proud of you thank you chip now all of our efforts can go into the main house mikey and david my sister
32:25and brother-in-law are flying in we wanted to reveal this to them they're gonna be one of the
32:30first families that come to visit so we thought it'd be fun to kind of show them the lay of the land
32:34but i mean we're crossing our fingers we get in before dark because there's still a lot of work to
32:38happen in there wow y'all
32:40yes joe has this innate ability to take something across the finish line that appears impossible
32:50i think a part of me really feeds off that energy and then it's game time tomorrow's the reveal
32:56oh babe your sister's here all right today is the day the project is finally complete and to top
33:14that off my sister mikey and david are going to be our first guests welcome y'all so we're going to get
33:20to show them the property show them the house we can't wait okie dokie goodness look at the landscape
33:28you step in here and it just feels like this magical little fairy world mikey look at this house
33:36so pretty let's let them look at this house me and david are going to go look at the river

33:54david you're going to love that river wait so out here we painted the exterior green we added a new
34:01front door wood shutters and then we cleaned up all of the landscape and added some new plans
34:08keep going first okay oh my goodness joe isn't it so pretty the wood the floors were original
34:16we added all this really beautiful antique oak but i just love this idea of this like place to

34:32don't look okay sorry that red fireplace is original these beams were existing but
34:40so dark that when we added all the wood to the ceilings we had this amazing painter come in and
34:46paint every one of these beams it's crazy is this plaster this is plaster these are fun these are
34:52vintage and i just recovered them with the gingham this is probably one of my favorite little settings
34:57okay we'll go here first we opened this up to really define this space this is the living room this
35:06fireplace we added and i love this red rock just because it just ties back to that
35:14they had two small windows so we opened that up to bring in more natural light
35:20so it feels like you're in the tree house aspens i know imagine playing cards here having coffee
35:27coffee okay to this used to be their living room oh this is amazing we added green tile oh wow custom
35:42cabinetry this beautiful vent hood there's nothing she can't do stop it seriously imagine all of us at this
35:51table wow and it's so pretty the table's like the best thing and then here you see this really pretty
36:00black countertop more of that green tile and then these really pretty cabinets i wanted to feel like lodge
36:09and cottage the strong green tile all of the wood but then you have these like dainty little chairs
36:15so it's like masculine but then also charming and sweet yes that's the style okay oh i love this style
36:23i want to show you what was the kitchen okay you won't believe how little it was so this
36:28walked into the kitchen it was cottagey it was really sweet but i thought for this amount of space
36:33a cozy reading room would be perfect this was the original range so we just put this little stove here
36:42added shelving we created this little nook right here these beautiful floors are antique we added
36:50paneling on the walls a darker color but then vertical and horizontal so it just felt super interesting
36:57and then here we created a cased opening to make this feel a little more defined this is a tiny powder
37:04bath look at the tile fun little sink so pretty okay now we're walking into the primary that is
37:13beautiful this is another space where it's like oh if you could imagine it before this was all walled off
37:20there's no bathroom there's no closet so we opened that up added wallpaper and a sweet scalloped trim
37:26we added the light oak onto the ceiling and then again we faux painted these beams to match that
37:34balcony was already there these windows were there i think the biggest thing here is i didn't want to
37:39do a door to the bathroom because i wanted this space to feel larger and now you walk into the primary
37:45bath and then again there were no closets so adding all of this closet space water closet shower a tub by the
37:53windows out of the double vanity all this beautiful wood all the wood and all the detail looks original
38:00that was the goal okay so now i want to take you downstairs hey mikey i love this gorgeous wood
38:10beautiful just kind of swiss chalet inspiration and then here i want to show you another guest bedroom
38:18so we just plastered the walls painted this trim green added new sconces here there was no bathroom
38:27connected and now we created a really pretty bathroom with a double vanity in that same light oak
38:36black countertops these pretty mirrors and a picture frame tile in the shower that's amazing yeah
38:43and then let's walk out into this hallway just cut into the stairs and created this little nook
38:51moment so it felt bigger and then stepping in here so this was their primary suite okay but i turned it
38:58into living space wow i can imagine all the kids so this is kind of the game room hot cocoa coffee bar
39:08i love this hand painted tile if you look in here this is the laundry room this was actually their
39:19bathroom but i felt like we needed a larger space for all of our winter clothes and boots added all of
39:25the paneling on the walls washer dryer the sink and then that vintage ski wallpaper cute and then stepping
39:33into here this was the primary bedroom but now this is the den pretty i love that every room almost
39:41has a fireplace that isn't that amazing you know chip loves wood-burning fireplaces so we added that
39:47new fireplace the french doors i love this little nook right here with new fabric i'd be happy just to
39:54see i know i feel like this is like a cute moment to read a book this is where we're all gonna probably
40:00hang out wow one thing i'm probably the most excited about this was their closet and now this is the
40:12bunk room so four beds these beams were there i added some tongue and groove added the pretty wallpaper
40:19all the little sconces this room was inspired by our girls this is the space that they're gonna be in
40:25it's really sweet all the stories and then the bathroom for this space but also for the guests
40:30out here is right here okay so we turn this part of the closet into a bathroom that ties into the design
40:36of the bunk room but look at that plaid tile and i love the mirror and these sweet little sconces
40:45all the wallpaper and tile is still so special i do feel like they all have a little story yes
40:50okay last but not least i want to show you the deck
41:00oh my goodness i purposely did lounge chairs because i just think it's so good to lay here and listen
41:06to the river look she looks like a natural let's go down there when the weather's nice we can hang here
41:13you see it look let's see if it gets attacked hey chip look who i found oh finally crew sees a trout
41:26oh man it's gonna be hard to get him home how was the tour oh amazing yeah what'd you think once
41:32again what was your favorite spot see joe i love walking into that fireplace and then you can see the
41:37kitchen and it's like a 360 of awesomeness awesome 360 of awesomeness all right i can live with that
41:45with all the glass and looking out yeah that view oh so pretty you can just feel the love and the effort
41:51that you guys put into this thing so it just looks like a million bucks this has been such a unique
41:56journey now that we're at the finish line we can finally enjoy it this feels like a home for us and
42:02even the fact that we didn't get to be here every day like we're used to doing in waco on those
42:06projects it was truly the next best thing he was probably thankful that you weren't here i'm sure he
42:11was but see for real like genuinely we're so well done man it feels so special the last 10 years we've
42:17spent time here in colorado as a family so it just feels like a full circle moment seeing the future
42:23but also just sitting in it now presently it feels like such a gift and i can't wait for all that's
42:28to come steve congratulations man well done well done proud of you
