00:00If a city wants to be sustainable in the future, they need to solve it with mobility.
00:12As cities around the world rethink how people move, Baku is reshaping its streets, transport systems and public spaces as part of a wider push towards smarter, cleaner urban mobility.
00:23For the last few years, we see major urban transformation in shifting focus on from car driving city for car oriented city to people oriented city, dozens of new bus lanes and bike lanes.
00:39That transformation is most visible where streets and public spaces have been redesigned around people rather than cars.
00:45About a year ago, the place where we are, it was completely different. We see a big parking lot there. There was almost no pedestrian infrastructure here.
00:57That square was completely redesigned. Now, no personal cars here, no taxis, only public transport hub here.
01:04We see buses, we see a metro station, railway station here. And of course, this micro mobility parking here.
01:14So both scooters, electric bikes and these simple green bikes.
01:19And beside this, there's at least two or three different public spaces in Baku that change like that.
01:26On every exit of train station, you will definitely see a bike parking. I think it's your turn to try your bike there.
01:38For residents, those changes are influencing how they move, work and experience the city.
01:42The infrastructure support the riding bike, as you see from the green bike lines.
01:56And you see everyone use bikes, especially the younger ones use bikes and scooters to move around the city.
02:05For many commuters, micro mobility has also changed how they manage their time, cost and wellbeing.
02:10My working place near city centre. I used to spend one hour to commute to work.
02:19But now, with the help of bike, it takes 10 minutes to reach my workplace.
02:25And this is really great because it saves my time. It's budget friendly.
02:32And also, I feel like I contribute to the environment.
02:35While scooters and bicycles are seeing a surge in popularity here in Baku, it's the electric bus that's getting all the interest.
02:46And it's manufactured here in Azerbaijan.
02:48I have to go back to the electric bus.
02:49I'm glad that I can't do it.
02:50I'm glad that I can do it.
02:51And I can do it.
02:52And I can do it.
02:53I can do it.
02:54I can do it.
02:55So, I can do it.
02:56I can do it.
02:57I can do it.
02:58We have a lot of options.
03:00I want to pick up the club,
03:02and we have a great job at it.
03:04My name is a great job to join us.

04:23Because every year we'll add 400 new buses, special electric and CNG buses, to the bus
04:29fleet of Baku.
04:31And we believe that until 2030, most of the bus fleet of Baku will be more environmental
04:41friendly buses.
04:43That's one of the ultimate goals.
04:47With Baku set to host the World Urban Forum next year, its approach to mobility shows
04:52how transport is becoming central to building more liveable and sustainable cities.
