Two men were found guilty of plotting to kill hundreds in an Islamic State-inspired gun rampage against the Jewish community in England, a planned attack investigators say could be one of the deadliest in UK if it came to fruition.

00:00A court in Preston, England on Tuesday found two men guilty of plotting a terror attack
00:11against the Jewish community between December 2023 and May 2024.
00:17The court heard that 38-year-old Walid Saddawi and 52-year-old Ammar Hussein had planned
00:24the attack in Greater Manchester as they answered calls by the Islamic State for such
00:28attacks after the war in Gaza broke out.
00:33Investigators said had the suspect's plan came to fruition, it would have led to one
00:37of the deadliest terror attacks in UK history.
00:45The duo went on trial for the terrorism charges following a car and stabbing attack near a
00:50synagogue in Manchester in October.
00:53Police said throughout the trial the suspects allegedly had hatred towards the Jewish community
00:58and sought to bring slaughter to the innocent people.
01:01They said their operation involved the use of an undercover operative to meet the duo and
01:06convince them that he was a terrorist who could help them secure firearms.
01:11The duo then developed plans and conducted reconnaissance in Salford and visited Port of Dover to observe
01:17the border.
01:18Waleed's 36-year-old brother Bilal was also convicted of failure to disclose information
01:24on an act of terrorism.
01:26The trio will face sentencing at the Preston Crown Court on February 13th next year.
