00:00The Philippines is ready to mediate the ongoing tensions between Cambodia and Thailand
00:04should the two countries request the assistance of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN.
00:10This was announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs in light of the Philippines' ASEAN chairmanship next year.
00:17According to the DFA, the ASEAN foreign ministers had a meeting in Kuala Lumpur
00:21following an invitation from Malaysia as the ASEAN chair to discuss the border situation between the two countries.
00:28During the meeting, our country expressed its readiness to help when needed,
00:33especially since the Philippines will be the host of ASEAN in 2026.
00:37The meeting also emphasized the importance of a collective approach to achieving regional peace and stability.
