00:00Indonesia and the U.S. say they have resolved all major issues in talks over a new tariff deal.
00:06This paves the way for an agreement to be signed by Presidents Prabowo Subianto and Donald Trump as early as the end of January.
00:16Jakarta says the deal would secure market access for key Indonesian exports, including palm oil and coffee, while giving Washington access to critical minerals.
00:26Indonesia's chief negotiator and senior economic minister, Ilanga Hatato, said the two sides had agreed on all substantial issues, following talks with U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer in Washington.
00:38He said the U.S. would grant tariff exemptions for Indonesian palm oil, tea and coffee, key exports for Southeast Asia's largest economy.
00:47The agreement would also give the U.S. greater access to Indonesia's critical minerals, a strategic priority as Washington seeks to diversify supply chains away from China.
00:58The U.S. imposed a 19 percent tariff on Indonesia in July, down from the initial 32 percent, in exchange for Jakarta's promises to cut trade barriers and buy more American goods.
01:09Officials from both countries are now working to arrange a meeting between President Prabowo and President Trump by the end of January, when the agreement could be formally signed.
