00:00Productive and constructive. That's how U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff is describing weekend talks
00:08involving the Trump administration, Ukrainian leaders, and European officials.
00:12The meetings were held in Florida. President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner was part of
00:17the delegation. Witkoff said Russia remains fully committed to achieving peace in Ukraine.
00:22But the Kremlin foreign policy aide who attended pushed back, saying Ukrainian and European input
00:28did not improve the chances of a deal. Russia invaded Ukraine in early 2022 and the four-year
00:35mark of the war is now approaching. The Trump administration has already unveiled a 20-point
00:39plan aimed at ending the war. Witkoff says the weekend meetings in Miami, including talks with
00:45Russian officials on Saturday, narrowed in on just a few areas, including security guarantees for
00:51Ukraine and expanding plans to help rebuild the country's economy. On Friday, Secretary of State
00:56Marco Rubio said the goal is not to impose America's will, but to determine what both sides need
01:02and what they're willing to give to reach a peace agreement.
