00:00The Kremlin is rejecting the idea of three-way peace talks involving Ukraine,
00:29Russia and the United States, casting fresh doubt over any near-term breakthrough to end the war.
00:36Even as diplomats gather in Miami to explore pathways toward peace,
00:41Russia says the idea of sitting face-to-face with Ukraine under a U.S.-led format is simply not happening.
00:48The denial came someday from the Kremlin itself.
00:52Russian President Vladimir Putin's foreign policy advisor said no serious discussions are underway
00:58and no preparations have been made for such talks.
01:02That statement directly contradicts comments made just a day earlier by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky,
01:09who revealed that Washington had floated the idea of trilateral negotiations.
01:14The proposal would have marked the first direct contact between Moscow and Kiev in six months,
01:21something many diplomats see as critical but politically explosive.
01:25Zelensky himself was cautious.
01:28While calling the idea logical, he admitted he was not convinced it would deliver real progress.
01:34He also suggested European representatives could be present, an idea Moscow strongly opposes.
01:41Russia has repeatedly argued that European involvement complicates negotiations rather than helping them.
01:47That fundamental divide remains one of the biggest obstacles to bringing both sides into the same room.
01:55The diplomatic activity is centred in Miami, where Russian, Ukrainian and European delegations have been gathering since Friday.
02:03The talks are being mediated by U.S. officials, but for now the meetings remain indirect,
02:10each side speaking separately rather than together.
02:12Russia's envoy is expected to return to Moscow with a report, where the Kremlin will decide its next move.
02:20Officials there also say they have not even seen the latest U.S. proposal aimed at ending the war.
02:26The last time Ukrainian and Russian envoys met face-to-face was in Istanbul last July.
02:33That meeting produced prisoner swaps, but little else.
02:37Nearly four years into Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II, trust between the sides is virtually non-existent.
02:45While the presence of Russian and European teams in Miami marks progress, expectations remain extremely low.
02:53And as diplomacy stalls, the war grinds on.
02:57President Zelensky says Russia has launched roughly 1,300 attack drones, nearly 1,200 guided bombs and multiple missiles in just the past week,
03:08hitting southern Ukraine particularly hard.
03:11For now, the message from Moscow is clear.
03:14No three-way talks, no quick breakthrough and no end to the fighting in sight.
