Wistari Reef Sharks created by Gary Crockett inspired by true events when I worked on Heron Island back in the day.
Transcript
00:00Oh, I worked down at Heron Island back in the day
00:22On that great barrier reef where the sun used to play
00:28No laws to protect, just the ocean and the sky
00:35Throwing scraps in the water, watching fish swim by
00:43In a flat-bottomed pond, we'd make our way
00:52To a starry reef, not far away
00:58Carrying cans of kitchen, scraps on the waves we'd sway
01:05Crystal clear water aside, so divine
01:12A hundred sharks lurking, waiting for their time
01:17Crystal clear water aside, so divine
01:21They looked so small, when they were deep down
01:25They came up to feed
01:28When we threw the food around
01:35Sharks of all sizes, fighting for a bite
01:40Ghost swooping down in the fading light
01:49The water was thrashing white, foam in the air
01:55I sat on that pond, felt the chill of despair
02:02Way out in the deep, with the jaws all around
02:11An incredible sight, but I felt so bound
02:20Learning the dance of the ocean
02:21Learning the dance of the ocean's cruel song
02:26I got used to the fear, but it never felt wrong
02:32A hundred sharks lurking, waiting for their time
02:37Crystal clear water, a sight so divine
02:41They looked so small, when they were deep down
02:45They came up to feed
02:51When we threw the food around
02:56Can't fall in the water while the jaws are chomping
03:00But the thrill of the moment, oh, it kept me romancing
03:04With every splash and every wave, I felt alive
03:09In that chaotic sea, oh, I learned to thrive
03:16Now the laws have come, and the times have changed
03:23But those memories linger, never feel as strange
03:32Out there at Heron, where the sharks used to roam
03:38I found a piece of me in that ocean home
03:45A hundred sharks lurking, waiting for their time
03:51Crystal clear water, a sight so divine
03:54They looked so small, when they were deep down
03:58They came up to feed
04:01When we threw the food around
04:07So I raised my glass to the water
04:11So bright to the memories made
04:14In the dead of the night
04:16Heron Island blues forever
04:18Forever they'll sing in the heart of the ocean
04:25Oh, the joy it can bring
04:29And a sejas of the sea
04:39Yeah, despite the time
04:39And you see it in the dead of the ocean
04:40Let's see the plot
04:42People are all idea
