00:20The General Federation of Trade Unions reported financial losses exceeding $9 billion and
00:25unprecedented unemployment rates due to the Israeli blockades, closures and rates since
00:31October of 2023.
00:33In an official statement, the Trade Union underscored that more than half a million Palestinians
00:37have lost their livelihoods in the West Bank and Gaza, warning that unemployment rates
00:42have risen to extreme levels, exceeding 50% in the occupied territories and 84% in the
00:49coastal enclave amid the massive destruction of businesses, agricultural construction and
00:55services.
00:56Moreover, the Union denounced the Israeli actions violating the National Labour Conventions
01:01and the Geneva Conventions, as well as of people's national right to work and to a dignified
01:07life.
