00:00Previously on Project Runway Canada, the future is here.
00:04Welcome to your avant-garde challenge.
00:08This week, you're working in teams and two designers from the losing team will be out.
00:15I would love to get that win this week.
00:17I gotta finish the shorts, finish the bust, finish the boots.
00:20Future avant-garde, awkward pieces.
00:23Awkward pieces.
00:27Foster, Charles, and Leland.
00:30Top book tonight was innovative, conceptual, and inventive.
00:33The winner of this challenge is Charles.
00:37Neymar Delarumic, I'm sorry, but you're both out.
00:42At stake for the winner, from TD, a career-launching investment of $100,000
00:48and a feature in Elle Canada magazine with global supermodel Coco Rocha,
00:54fashion designer Spencer Badu, creative director Aurora James,
00:59and legendary fashion journalist Jeanne Becker.
01:03This is Project Runway Canada.
01:05Watch me do my thing.
01:16Ooh.
01:17There's a box.
01:19Ooh.
01:20Joe Fresh.
01:21I wonder what it is.
01:23It's like Christmas.
01:25I like Joe Fresh.
01:25The box says Joe Fresh, but I have no idea what's inside.
01:29I'm excited.
01:30Let's open it.
01:32Oh.
01:33Hey.
01:35Hello, designers.
01:36Hello.
01:38See, you found some surprises.
01:40No peeking just yet.
01:44Life loves to keep things interesting.
01:46For me, that means one minute I'm walking the dog.
01:50The next, I'm walking a runway.
01:52And my wardrobe has to keep up.
01:54That's why I rely on strong foundation pieces.
01:58But I still like to keep things fresh.
02:00Let me show you.
02:02Ooh.
02:03Hello, models.
02:06Hey.
02:07So chic.
02:08Yes, girl.
02:09Every look you see here is from Joe Fresh.
02:12Each styled around one versatile wardrobe staple.
02:16Designed right here in Canada.
02:18These go-tos are at the core of endless ensembles.
02:23Easy to dress up, dress down, or make your own.
02:25No matter what's on your schedule.
02:28For this challenge, you'll be creating one look that transforms in real time from one life
02:35moment to the next.
02:37A reveal.
02:38And it has to happen flawlessly on the runway.
02:42I really feel sick.
02:43My head is just spinning like, this is a two-in-one look.
02:46Wild.
02:47That's right.
02:48You're designing two looks in one.
02:51The star of both looks must be your Joe Fresh wardrobe staple.
02:56You cannot alter the staple in any way.
03:00And be sure the transition is effortless.
03:03Because you will also be judged on technical execution.
03:07I've never made a transformative look for a runway before.
03:11This is going to be super hard.
03:12Wondering which classic you'll be working with?
03:15Open those boxes.
03:16A white shirt.
03:20It's so soft.
03:21Wow.
03:22It's so clueless.
03:23Ooh.
03:23Animal.
03:24Meow.
03:25Wow.
03:26Okay, burgundy jacket.
03:29The model you see wearing the piece in your box, that's your model.
03:34That's your match.
03:35This is a two-day challenge.
03:38You have 40 minutes to sketch your design before you join Aurora at the fabric store.
03:42Make your story clear.
03:45All the best designers get sketching.
03:53Are you ready?
03:54Yeah.
03:54Let's do this.
03:56Ooh.
03:57Okay, I would wear the hell out of this sweater.
04:00We've both got sweaters.
04:01This crew neck sweater has to be the star of the show.
04:05It adds a level of difficulty because the essential piece does not fit into my aesthetic.
04:12What did you get?
04:13A little schoolgirl vest.
04:15Oh, that's going to be so much fun to work with.
04:17It's giving private schoolgirl vibes.
04:19And I love that for me because I already know what I'm going to do.
04:22It's going to have a little asymmetrical plaid overlay on top of the skirt, which is going to flip up into a corset.
04:30Wow, that's a perfect thing for you.
04:33Yeah, it felt a little baggy on her though, but...
04:36It's a really nice color.
04:39I'm on top of the world.
04:40I got leopard?
04:41Leopard?
04:42I can't believe you got that dress, Leland.
04:44Oh my gosh, it's fun.
04:45It's fate.
04:46I feel like I live in leopard.
04:48Like, live, laugh, leopard is my, like, life motto.
04:51Is that girl wearing a skirt as a top right now?
04:55Yes, that's the skirt.
04:56It's a skirt as a top.
04:57My theme is 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
04:59So I'm making a big track suit that's going to reveal into an evening dress.
05:05I'm really going to sell the reveal of it.
05:07I know how to do some really crazy drag reveals, so I'm like, this is the one that's getting it.
05:12I'm so excited.
05:13My essential item is a black and white t-shirt.
05:16This was fate.
05:17This is so me.
05:19It is.
05:19I love it.
05:20Black and white is the DNA of my work.
05:23The universe is saying, this is your challenge.
05:26I think the best way to approach this is something that's not gimmicky.
05:31I'm going to make a jacket that's completely reversible.
05:34I'm also making sort of a utility belt that has pockets.
05:37It's really easy to go extreme here.
05:40The statement I'm trying to make is one that's more subtle.
05:43It's practical.
05:44I want these pieces to look like they live in one person's wardrobe.
05:47I really like a nice, clean, white shirt because I wear this shirt every day.
05:53This week, I need to prove that I can do something great because I was twice in the bottom.
06:02Look.
06:03Beautiful.
06:04Absolutely.
06:05I do a lot of two-in-one garments.
06:09I always love to, like, reveal.
06:11So I'm going to do this.
06:12I want to show me.
06:13So I'm making a jacket and a jeans with a corset belt with, like, fringe.
06:19I'm just happy to do this this week.
06:21Oh, we're happy to also just have you here still.
06:23Crazy, huh?
06:24It was an emotional runway last week.
06:27Uh, you know, if I can't make it with this, uh, just, I just need to go home.
06:38So what are you planning?
06:40Oh.
06:41I'm not a vest person.
06:43Vests are very Aladdin.
06:45However, I need to stick with something that I know I'm good at, which is jackets.
06:52So I am making a skirt that turns into a jacket.
06:58So she's going from work to a hockey game.
07:02Sweet.
07:03Right?
07:03This is going to be good.
07:05I'm getting, like, antsy now.
07:07I just want to get to the fabric store.
07:09You're already ready for the store?
07:13Hello, designers.
07:14I hope you're ready to make some fresh moments happen.
07:19You're going to have 30 minutes and $350 to get your materials together.
07:26Okay, go.
07:29I want this.
07:31Spicy already.
07:33This was the one that I wanted.
07:35Oh, wow.
07:35I knew what I wanted.
07:37You knew what you wanted.
07:38Yes.
07:38A girl with a plan.
07:40I am looking for a very bold plaid.
07:42Maybe mustard, maybe red, maybe blue.
07:46This being a first for me.
07:47I'm worried because the stakes are high.
07:49I got this crewnet sweater.
07:51So I'm thinking of office wear.
07:53Going from office to a cocktail party.
07:55So I'm going to be making a vest with denim pants to transform into a skirt.
08:01I think I have what I need.
08:04Do you think this is too flashy to make this a sheer skirt?
08:07You're walking the line, I will say.
08:08Yeah, that's...
08:09But you could walk the right side of it.
08:10Yeah.
08:11This is your item.
08:12This is my item.
08:13Okay.
08:14This is, like, a maybe.
08:14So more animal print.
08:16I think it might be too much.
08:18So I might go over to the mitts.
08:18I think it might be too much.
08:19Yeah.
08:20Don't make it, like, Lion King.
08:22You know what I mean?
08:23You're right.
08:23Lion King's not the vibe.
08:24Not the vibe.
08:26Oh, no.
08:27I've got a roll of fabric that I love.
08:29This is all that's left?
08:32There's not enough.
08:33Are you able to check for me if you have this in the back?
08:35And I panic.
08:37These are my two picks.
08:39Or none of them work, right?
08:40It's a bit tricky.
08:41And I think a solid might not work.
08:43All a print.
08:44Yeah, find something else.
08:45So this one, I'm going to take a yard and a half.
08:47Five minutes left.
08:49Maybe let me try this.
08:50Who hasn't cashed out yet?
08:52Foster?
08:53Is there any chiffon like this with a small print this color?
08:56Oh.
08:57Yes.
08:57Can I get through it?
08:58All right.
08:58Get cutting.
08:59One yard of the rim.
09:02Let's go.
09:04Charles, get it in fire.
09:14So how's your draping going, Rome?
09:20It's going good.
09:21How about you?
09:21It's going good, too.
09:23I have this adorable blood orange cardigan.
09:26It's got a little crop and three buttons on the front.
09:28And I'm trying to include multiple transformative elements.
09:32My biggest piece is the skirt I'll be doing.
09:34It starts as a bubble skirt and then unties into a floor-length pleated skirt with a drop
09:38waist detail.
09:39I'll be making a white tank top with a removable collar and removable cuff.
09:43It's going to be so much choreography involved this week.
09:46I'm going to want to practice with my model like many times.
09:52Who's like six foot?
09:54I am.
09:55Can I measure your crotch?
09:57My what?
09:59Find me a drink first.
10:05I am very excited to see what you all are working on.
10:11Very curious about this fabric.
10:13What is your essential item?
10:14So my essential item is this pinstripe shirt over here.
10:18And I'm thinking to have a swimsuit.
10:21Oh, wow.
10:21A swimsuit.
10:22Yes.
10:22My inspiration is the digital nomad going from work from home straight to their beach
10:28day.
10:29Whole skirt hides underneath the pants?
10:31Yeah, but I'll show you the fabric.
10:32I don't think it will be too hard to hide.
10:34This feels like gothic to me, not beachy.
10:37Well, she's going to have a white swimsuit.
10:39I feel like white and black go well together.
10:42Sometimes the judges love it and sometimes they don't.
10:45But I'm hopeful that I'll be able to pull this off.
10:47Do it.
10:53Kat.
10:54Hey.
10:54What's happening this week?
10:56Something fun.
10:58Tell me where your model is starting
10:59and where are they going?
11:00She's working in marketing.
11:02That night, she's going to see a country show.
11:05And then how does it swap?
11:06When she goes like that, schlock,
11:09it's fringe and snakeskin motifs.
11:12Oh, wow.
11:13I'm a city girl, but two years ago,
11:15when I went to Virginia to work with horses,
11:19it was the most wonderful experience of my life.
11:23And I brought my sewing machine there.
11:26Everything that I did was really Western vibe.
11:29It really came to me.
11:31And I really embraced it.
11:33And I just found myself.
11:35I want them to see me this week.
11:36I want that too.
11:41I have mixed feelings about my piece
11:43because it covers most of the body.
11:45I have to think outside the box.
11:48So look one is a blazer over a long skirt.
11:51Look two is a blazer over a bralette and a pair of pants.
11:55The reveal is the skirt comes off the dress.
11:57I feel good from last week
11:59and I just wanted to continue celebrating.
12:02Charles, Foster, Leland,
12:05you are our top designers of the week.
12:08Thank you so much.
12:09Best combination ever, cardio and sewing.
12:12So this is a coat that starts as a dress.
12:17Yes.
12:18She's coming from work
12:19and then she's going to a hockey game.
12:22I feel like the tie around the waist is actually more casual.
12:25Yeah, I don't know where anyone goes with a vest.
12:28I'm sorry.
12:29Kat's wearing a vest right now.
12:31People wear them.
12:33You know?
12:34It's really my go-to bathing.
12:37And that's the challenge.
12:38Yeah, that's why I was trying to cover it up.
12:40I know, but it has to be a focal piece of the look.
12:44Heather.
12:45I'm more worried about the transformation
12:48than I am about working the essential.
12:51I do feel confident.
12:54I think I'm doing something completely different
12:56from everyone else.
12:57Most people are doing a day to night look,
13:00but, oh my God, turning this bikini bottom inside out
13:034,000 times to make sure that all the straps
13:06are at the right length is very difficult.
13:08And I'm definitely most nervous about the tearaway element.
13:11I don't know if these magnets are going to work
13:14how I'm expecting.
13:15I'm just hoping I have time to test some different things out
13:17because there's no room for mistakes here.
13:21It looks awesome.
13:24It looks beautiful.
13:25And this is the reveal.
13:27So it's going to be like that with the snaps.
13:30And then...
13:31But I think I'll put more things.
13:34I really hope it's going to be dramatic.
13:36With snaps, you have to have, like, a really good movement
13:40so it really, it's not stuck.
13:43And under the arm, it needs to be a magnet.
13:46And when she will arrive, she will, like, unsnap in the legs too.
13:51I wasn't sure how this was going to, like, fall down,
13:54but I feel like it's, like, actually, like, perfect.
13:56If I just put a zipper right there.
13:57Yeah, it looks good this way.
13:58Right?
13:59I am very worried because all the transitions seem to be going pretty well.
14:04And I'm now realizing that the pants just not working out.
14:08Definitely bit off more than I could chew.
14:11Transforming a denim pants into a skirt, I haven't quite figured it out yet.
14:15How is she going to pull it up?
14:17Where am I going to tie it?
14:18How am I going to hide the denim completely?
14:21Worst case scenario is I'm unable to figure out the transition.
14:37How are you?
14:38I'm trying to tailor.
14:40This is a real challenge.
14:41Not only do we have to show off an essential item from Joe Fresh,
14:45we have to have two distinct looks and one very clean transition.
14:49And so the stress is on.
14:55This is just so funny.
15:02Good morning, designers.
15:04Good morning.
15:06It looks like you have made progress here.
15:10Mm-hmm.
15:11So I got rid of the jacket.
15:13Okay.
15:14And now I'm going with a cape.
15:16And then it converts into a dress.
15:20I like the cape idea.
15:21Make sure it flows nicely into a dress.
15:23This is going to give Blair Waldorf Upper East Side New York.
15:28I'm not nervous at all.
15:30Hey.
15:31Hey.
15:32How are you?
15:33Good.
15:34Okay.
15:35So I'm worried about the essential item getting lost in this.
15:39Oh, I hope not.
15:40The outfit will be open and you will be able to see it.
15:43I think I'd like to do at least three to four different changes of this outfit.
15:47And the last one is basically presenting the dress.
15:50According to the brief, the essential item has to be a feature in both looks.
15:54Totally.
15:55I need to highlight the item.
15:58It's sticking out the front.
16:00How much more can I highlight it?
16:02Hey, Charles.
16:03Hi, Aurora.
16:04Progress on the jacket.
16:05Yeah.
16:06This piece itself is completely reversible.
16:08Fun.
16:09It turns into this.
16:12My concern is that the judges are going to look at this and be like, Charles wanted to make this look and just suck the t-shirt behind it.
16:19So if you can find some way to integrate white into other parts of the outfit, it will bring it together so much better.
16:30I use a lot of lines in my work, which is my signature.
16:34So I really want to incorporate white ribbon on the sleeves.
16:37And I think it can just be a tiny little detail that pulls everything together.
16:50Hey, Realm.
16:51Hi.
16:52This is a skirt and a pant that transforms.
16:56So I changed my idea.
16:58Okay.
16:59So I chose to do a pencil denim skirt that is going to go into this cocktail skirt.
17:04This is an A-line skirt?
17:06Yeah.
17:07Is it going to be fitting properly if there's another skirt?
17:10It is going to be fitting properly.
17:12Yeah.
17:13Yeah.
17:14I really want to see how the mechanics of this whole thing are working out.
17:16I have to figure this bottom out.
17:18There's no room for malfunction.
17:19So I got to get it right.
17:21I'm just worried about time.
17:24Yeah.
17:26Transitions take rehearsal.
17:28We're going to need a second with these models and run through it.
17:34I've got your models.
17:36Come on in.
17:37Ooh.
17:38Yay.
17:39So fresh.
17:40Hey.
17:41Hey.
17:42How is this?
17:43Hi.
17:44My friend.
17:45Nice to meet you.
17:46Nice to meet you.
17:47Designers, you have 30 minutes with your models.
17:51Oh, wow.
17:52It was good.
17:54Oh, my God.
17:56I want to win this week.
17:58Ah!
17:59That was chic.
18:00Mine's the best.
18:01It's going to be good.
18:02I'm so excited.
18:03Fingers crossed.
18:04Turn for me, please.
18:06Yeah.
18:07These models are going in front of Coco Rocha.
18:10It's one smooth transition.
18:12That's all she gets.
18:13Remember, the collar stays up when you do it, and the collar stays down when you're the
18:17other way.
18:18Some people have all these crazy reveals, all of these magnets.
18:22And for me, I'm not going in that direction.
18:24I'm going clean.
18:25I'm going polished.
18:26I'm going to go straight to Charles Leaf.
18:27Do you feel like the shirt, the essential piece, is shining?
18:32I think so.
18:33I think once this layer comes off, it's going to be all shirt.
18:34All the lines are sort of throwing me.
18:36I feel like the patterns are working together, to be honest.
18:37So we'll see what the judges think.
18:38I like the combination.
18:39There's no other fabric to use, so the judges will like it.
18:51the judges will like it so the skirt itself is going to be cut much shorter when she gets to
18:57the end of the runway yes then she opens it she's like unclipping it still a lot of work to do in
19:04the skirt yeah but keep thinking about it i will all right thank you models thank you we'll see
19:11you tomorrow bye i'll see you tomorrow okay bye bye you're not going to get to practice with your
19:18models again until tomorrow and there's a lot of work left to do in these transitions okay thank
19:25you get to work the drape has to lay properly in order for it to look good and so i keep having
19:34to fix the interior i'm fighting for my loss i'm cracking under the pressure tomorrow is going to
19:40be an interesting day it's a little quiet i think the impending doom of the transitions is kind of
19:56slowly creeping in on us i have my skirt part done it's just like the mechanicals of the transformation
20:04is going to take the most time oh i agree really just what everybody's i think trying to figure out
20:10yeah has to be a good reveal oh 100 no malfunctions happy runway day hey let's do it
20:27it's the day of all days today i'm just hoping that we stay on schedule this bikini is taking a lot
20:36longer than i was expecting and i have to finish sewing in all these magnets so i'm just crossing my
20:41fingers and hoping for the best i still have to figure out the top for my second look and i have a
20:51lot of details to make it's time to get on the floor and get the hammer out happy runway day your
21:06models are back you're really serious you have 40 minutes for your fittings get practicing i am not
21:16finished yet okay this is uh i thought you were gonna come a little bit later i didn't finish the
21:23pants i needed to put the grommets in so she can like reveal this is so stupid and it's killing me
21:31that it's not done yet so it just looks weird but time to put the grommets and then you to practice
21:38it's just like we don't have a lot of time okay
21:40yeah i think this looks great
21:49it's looking cute and this still pops in the first look oh my god yeah yeah it is the shirt of it how
21:55many transitions are there currently four to five that's a lot am i extra i think that brief was like
22:04one so five is sort of more of a performance than a transition um this is what i do it could have
22:13been even more over the top one do these guys yeah let's do it hi i see we're still sewing still
22:25sewing have we been able to practice any of the transitions yet not yet just need to tailor it a
22:31bit more i'm concerned a little bit not gonna lie to you this fitting is not going well at all i still
22:38have things to finish and i need to have something going down the runway just want to see it on your
22:43hip sort of all right designers when you're ready take your models to the l'oreal paris glam room
23:01the eye makeup is just gorgeous like i love it so she's a private school girl gone bad and i really
23:07just want like a movi neutral matte lip on her the perfect one it's l'oreal paris infallible
23:13lack resistance in breakfast in bed it's going to be smudge proof and it's going to last the full time
23:18oh my god the hoops that i've jumped through for a 30-second transformation it's not easy freaking
23:32hell there's so much to do i'm wondering if i should just let her unzip the back this clip is falling out
23:40okay so let's just fix your snaps first delaine is helping me put the metallic clips on because
23:47i cannot see where it needs to go i'm frantic at this point i don't usually ask for help just add
23:52like a extra snap rome i can tell he's stressed come on come on no it's not the time try not to be
23:58flustered just calm it's okay yeah i know that it's a competition but i would want someone to help me
24:04i just feel like giving up thank you delaine thank you so much but i cannot go home i came here for a
24:13reason and it is to prove that i'm a great designer time for the runway ah no no so it's just weird so
24:24okay we'll leave it like that where were we sewing this right here eh the tape i don't want it to come
24:30undone my model looks fine i'm gonna leave you for a second right now my priority is rome he's my
24:37friend and i'm gonna help him like this will be connected to her yeah like this yeah i feel
24:42disappointed in myself because i usually have it together but i'm a strong man time to hit the runway
24:48let's do this you guys know this isn't the end all right let's go let's do it
25:00this week your challenge was to create a two-in-one look that tells a story using a joe fresh staple
25:23as the centerpiece will your design be a fresh take or will you tell a stale tale
25:32time to say hello to your judges fashion designer spencer badu
25:39fashion journalist jeannie becker hi everybody and meet canadian model
25:46designer and entrepreneur the one and only lauren chan hi designers hi oh my goodness lauren is just one
25:57of the best models they got giddy i'm giddy all right let's start the show
26:04first look i think it's very wearable the vest is really looking great with the skirt the second look
26:16she puts those straps up so flawlessly she's just looking like the private little school girl that i
26:22really wanted i'm really proud of it oh she's stunning i think i did a good job my look is fresh
26:41it's transformative and the cardigan is really highlighted through this effortless everyday
26:46transitional piece
27:02this outfit represents me it looks ageless timeless looks like you could buy this the part where it
27:11converts it is super basic but it's elegant
27:25i want everything to look perfect i don't want any mistake on that runway
27:29she's rocking it it's western urban and ecchi
27:42here i am
27:50i'm really proud of this look i feel i've really achieved my vision i think the silk chiffon skirt is
27:56drape beautifully oh i love the vegan leather and i feel these pants could not exist in a world
28:05without this blazer i'm just hoping that i've impressed the judges with this transformation
28:17seeing my look come down the runway i'm feeling underwhelmed i don't love the fit of the skirt
28:23i wanted it to be a bit more seamless the challenge called for a two-in-one look and i think the judges
28:29will probably notice how simple of a transformation it is and i'm not happy with that
28:40ah i'm so happy she looks adorable i think what i love most about my look is that
28:47it's such a shock when the shorts come off and the skirt falls down perfectly it's just such a reveal
28:55okay i think that i have absolutely delivered on two completely separate looks and i'm really excited
29:02to hear what the judges think
29:15even though it's a subtle transition these pieces would work in real life and that was my goal the
29:20entire time couldn't be happier
29:28oh that color combo
29:37got this you got this yes i'm so happy to see that leopard print dress just fly out of the
29:43tear away pants it literally looks perfect
29:53designers please step up to the runway
30:00we saw some fresh takes tonight but only one of you can be the winner and one of you will be out
30:06when i call your name please step forward
30:13delaying foster
30:18curtis
30:22the three of you are in and can leave the runway congratulations thank you
30:26hey i'm happy man that was a tough one it was tough you know we'd like to hear more about each of your
30:39designs let's bring us the first model
30:45rome tell us more about this look daytime she's at work is casual friday so it's just a simple denim
30:51skirt and then i wanted it to transform into this snake leather thing why do you keep looking at us
30:58like you're a little unsure of that story i was just in my head a whole lot this week and i've kept
31:03having to tell myself do not crack do not keep going keep going this this doesn't feel like you
31:08the skirt for me is not an attractive fit you know the padding in the back almost looked like you
31:16were toting a little sleeping bag when she came down i thought oh well if it's so bulk in the back
31:22it's gonna turn into a gown i'm not sure if the application of the russian was necessary but the
31:28drape i did gasp because to go from such casual denim into a patent snake drape skirt is a feat
31:37thank you rome oh yikes poor rome let's bring up the next look fria what's goody hey leland what story
31:50are you trying to tell here this is 8 a.m to 8 p.m i really want to kind of like juxtapose two different
31:56like timelines and when i was given the leopard skirt i decided to make it a dress moment i enjoyed the
32:05first look looked great but to the brief sadly it didn't really feature the leopard enough i loved
32:13that tracksuit i thought she looked great but it really bothered me that the leopard was not there
32:20that's the whoopsie a look in the morning should be maybe a bit more toned down i think there's a lot
32:25going on okay i don't want you to tone it down instead of toning down perhaps editing your design
32:32process earlier thank you leland here's the next one i thought this was fun it's very fun so she's
32:44a fashion marketing girly who needs to go to work but it's friday and she has tickets to her favorite
32:51western festival well done the surprise the fringes were just absolutely fabulous it was a hooray for
32:58cat moment this is from corporate to cowgirl cat i'm so proud of you you know i feel like with this
33:05look i was really able to see who you are as a designer thanks i really liked the reveal on this
33:12but something like the pressing on the shirt stopped my eye she worked all day she worked i believe
33:18that's called method modeling yeah i was not expecting that and that's the point of a transitional
33:25moment but i loved the experience of watching it versus some i was like eat good job cat thank you
33:34so the lifestyle i was building for was mom on the go to mama in the town she just wants to feel a
33:39little bit more elevated it was just a soft and subtle change i love it i love the way a simple
33:47striped t-shirt really dictated the whole graphic aesthetic of this outfit i thought it was pretty
33:53sensational you didn't just take the shirt and use it as like a background piece i loved how you
34:00incorporated the lines and i think obviously that's probably something that you use within your work
34:04i thought that this was ready to sell charles thank you so much thank you so much let's bring out the next
34:12look so my idea was to go from work from home by day to beach party by night okay when your look came out
34:25i thought immediately oh i think i know what this designer has to say and then the look transitioned
34:32and i had no idea what you were trying to say i loved maya's look i mean i'm all for juxtaposition
34:42but you know a striped cotton shirt with that fabric just didn't jive for me when i saw the model first
34:48come down i was like is it a school girl is it pajamas and then i think when i saw the second look
34:54i was like oh maybe it's like pajamas to lingerie the shirt covers the swimsuit so for me there was just a
35:00bit of confusion when it comes to the story i know your storytelling is like clever this to me
35:07seemed mediocre thank you maya thank you i fiercely disagree with the judges
35:18little feather tell us about your look so basically she owns a law firm but she does like to have fun
35:24so her cape transforms into a skirt so she's ready to go to a concert i loved this piece up here i
35:33thought it was gorgeous but once it came off it felt like you know a middle school girl just putting her
35:38sweater around her waist so the reveal felt flat you're really talented when i saw that cape i was
35:44like oh my goodness like i'm getting to see little feathers shine i just wish you would have maybe just
35:49been a bit more daring not crazy about the way it transformed just because you've got this thing
35:56sticking out in the front that's just not necessarily that attractive but jeannie whispered to me while
36:03this came down the runway i would wear that and i just want to commend you on having a canadian fashion
36:09legend say that about something that you made in and of itself total win thank you little feather
36:16thank you designers you can leave the runway
36:30you believed in me didn't you i i loved it my mouth was on the floor what a show right first of all
36:38i'm just proud of them last runway we gave them a pep talk they did better let's talk about our tops
36:46honestly i'm torn you know i think these were two amazing looks charles as soon as that look came
36:53out i was really impressed it felt like it was all part of the same capsule i thought the whole
36:58graphic effect was really uh interesting executed beautifully he's really talented but i think cat
37:04had a more theatrical reveal i was like joe fresh to joe fringe loved it when i was getting like cowgirl
37:11i thought it was very directional which i appreciate it was a great concept she really
37:16proved herself this week who do you think had the best execution well in that case i think it would be
37:22clear as day but who should be going home this week all right little feather she said like i'm
37:26gonna make a jacket something that i'm very good at that wasn't the brief to me this wasn't a skirt it
37:32was just an afterthought i wasn't really clear on what the story was i didn't really see enough
37:38effort or imagination put into the look as a whole and i didn't think rome did a great job either it was
37:45one awkward skirt to another awkward skirt i understand ruching requires a lot of work however
37:52to me it looked like a sleeping bag stuck to her butt and then we have maya and leland leland i was
38:00like what what are we supposed to showcase oh a leopard skirt and when i saw that the skirt was just
38:06pulled up into a dress i was disappointed i think there was a lot going on yeah and there wasn't really
38:11continuity in terms of the first look and the second look it was like wah wah and then maya i was
38:18confused i got pajamas to like lingerie i was not expecting bathing suit sheer cover up it seemed
38:25like more of a striptease than a transformation and we couldn't see the showcase joe fresh piece where
38:31does that leave us let's bring the designers back out when i call your name please step forward cat
38:48charles
38:54you both took your two and ones to another level they didn't just show a moment they were the moment
39:01excellent work you are at the top two of the night thank you so much thank you but there can only be one

40:42rome
40:44the fit of that skirt was off
40:47little feather
40:49your cape's transformation into a skirt was lackluster
40:54this was an incredibly difficult decision
