00:00African football is getting a major shake-up with the creation of a nation's league

00:05and conversion of the biennial Africa Cup of Nations to a four-year cycle,

00:10the CAF president announced in Morocco.

00:13Taking into account the global fixtures, the AFCON now will now take place once every four years.

00:31In terms of this new dispensation, we will be getting resources every year.

00:38Mutepe also revealed the creation of the African Nations League,

00:42similar to UEFA's own Nations League.

00:56As part of this new competition, the African Nations League.

00:59So, the African Nations League will result in every year.

01:07there's going to be a competition every year

01:10where the best African players who play in Europe and worldwide

01:15will be with us on the continent.

01:17The changes do not affect the 2027 AFCON hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

01:24The Nations League will take place in September, October and November every year from 2029.
