00:00:00Holiday mood full of holiday cheer. I'm in a holiday mood because the holiday's here.
00:00:06I'm in a holiday mood and I hope you are too. Because this holiday, I get to spend it with you.
00:00:14It takes a holiday mood to make a holiday wish. Just add some holiday mood to make a holiday dish.
00:00:21I'm in a holiday mood.
00:00:23And we're back in five, four.
00:00:25You're watching Atlanta's number one morning show with Colin Moore and Cindy Shepard.
00:00:30Welcome back to Wake Up With Atlanta. This morning we have been chatting about exciting holiday events happening all over the city.
00:00:36We sure have. Now, we've been experiencing colder weather here in the metro area.
00:00:41So it's time to turn up the temperature on your holiday cheer because we are only two weeks away from that event that we've all been waiting for.
00:00:49That's right, folks. We are counting down to the Festival of Trees.
00:00:56Even better, the money raised from this year's tree auction benefits our very own Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
00:01:03That's fantastic, isn't it, folks? I mean, it just makes the festival that much more bad.
00:01:09Good evening, guys. Now, you know, some of the city's top designers have actually been discovered through their beautiful creations, like Kendrick and Cole.
00:01:16And even with all the festive cheer, there can be some pretty fierce competition.
00:01:22Well, we have the privilege of having one of those designers here in studio with us today.
00:01:27And this designer is no stranger to the Southeast design scene.
00:01:33We have with us today, folks, the talented, incredible Alice Stewart.
00:01:45Alice Stewart. Wow.
00:01:47I mean...
00:01:48Welcome to the show.
00:01:49We are such huge fans.
00:01:52And I'm very happy to be here.
00:01:53Well, it's no secret that you have dominated this festival.
00:01:57You've won the coveted grand prize an incredible eight times.
00:02:01You really are amazing.
00:02:03Well, I find the holidays very inspiring.
00:02:09The essence of the holiday spirit invokes such creativity.
00:02:16I speak for both of us.
00:02:18We cannot wait to see what you're going to dazzle us with this year.
00:02:22Oh, now, Colin, you know I can't divulge any details of the design.
00:02:28Oh, darn it.
00:02:30Oh, no.
00:02:32We're going to get it out of you.
00:02:33Well, I will say that if you're one of the up-and-coming designers hoping to take part this year,
00:02:39then this astounding lady right here is the one to beat.
00:02:42What happened at 945?
00:02:52Sorry.
00:02:54Holiday traffic.
00:02:55Okay, you live two blocks away.
00:02:57Coffee.
00:02:57Oh, you have no idea how much I love you right now.
00:03:01Oh, it's cold.
00:03:02I know how it feels.
00:03:03I said I was sorry.
00:03:05Okay.
00:03:05Apology accepted.
00:03:06Apology accepted.
00:03:07Um, checklist.
00:03:08Portfolio.
00:03:08Check.
00:03:09Design sketch.
00:03:09Double check.
00:03:10Okay, that's it.
00:03:11How are we for time?
00:03:11Five minutes.
00:03:12All right, what are we standing here in the cold for?
00:03:25Hi.
00:03:26Uh, Jacqueline Miller here to see Mr. Lowry.
00:03:28Miller.
00:03:29Miller.
00:03:30There you are.
00:03:31Um, if you'd like to have a seat, Mr. Lowry will be with you in a few minutes.
00:03:35Okay.
00:03:40Okay.
00:03:41Remember, you're young.
00:03:43You're hungry.
00:03:44What you lack in experience, you make up for tenfold in enthusiasm and raw talent.
00:03:48With your eye for vintage design and Mr. Lowry's corporate sponsorship, you will be...
00:03:56unstoppable.
00:03:57Also, I have been thinking of moving to Dublin to teach Irish dancing with Bono.
00:04:09Jackie!
00:04:10Yeah.
00:04:10Yeah.
00:04:11Sorry.
00:04:11Sorry.
00:04:12Just...
00:04:12Sorry.
00:04:13Have you seen the style of this office?
00:04:18I mean, if this is his taste...
00:04:20Oh, my...
00:04:20It's like Wayne Newton and you have to throw up in here.
00:04:26Yeah.
00:04:26You are not here to decorate his office.
00:04:29Yes.
00:04:30You are looking for a Christmas tree sponsor.
00:04:32This is just a PR thing for him.
00:04:35Not that he couldn't use the help otherwise.
00:04:38Ms. Miller?
00:04:40Mr. Lowry will see you now.
00:04:41Okay.
00:04:42I'll just...
00:04:43Right.
00:04:43Show my son.
00:04:44Yeah.
00:04:44Okay.
00:04:44Go get him.
00:04:45I'll just be here singing Don Quixote until you're done.
00:04:48Hmm.
00:04:48Okay.
00:04:49Bye.
00:04:49Bye.
00:04:49Bye.
00:04:49Bye.
00:04:49Bye.
00:04:49Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:50Bye.
00:04:51Bye.
00:04:51Bye.
00:04:51Bye.
00:04:52Bye.
00:04:52Bye.
00:04:52Bye.
00:04:52Bye.
00:04:56Bye.
00:04:57This is a lovely space you have here.
00:04:58It's very cozy.
00:05:01I like it.
00:05:03Ms. Miller, what a pleasure to meet you.
00:05:28Mr. Lowry, hi.
00:05:29Oh, please, call me John. My father was Mr. Lowry.
00:05:36Uh...
00:05:41Oh, oh, just one sec.
00:05:50Oh, okay.
00:05:54Just, uh, the stairs.
00:06:01Very, very big chairs.
00:06:07So, the Festival of Trees.
00:06:09Yes.
00:06:10Ah, such a wonderful event, isn't it?
00:06:11It is. I've been attending every year since I was a kid.
00:06:15And your agency is looking for corporate sponsorship, am I right?
00:06:18We are. We're a very small agency, but we have great style and we work hard.
00:06:23Hmm.
00:06:24I have built this agency from the ground up, and as I'm sure you saw when looking into us, we have only five-star reviews.
00:06:30So I've heard.
00:06:31Yeah, I think that our unique approach to design, coupled with the fact that we are up-and-coming and hard-working, makes us a really great fit for Lowry & Low.
00:06:42Well, please continue, Ms. Miller.
00:06:47Okay, well, I think the best thing for me to do is to let my work speak for itself.
00:06:52And I will show you our design concept for the festival.
00:06:57So the theme of this year's Festival of Trees is a very vintage Christmas.
00:07:04Hmm.
00:07:05Very elegant.
00:07:07Thank you, Mr. Lowry.
00:07:08It is, I'm not gonna lie, a very expensive statement.
00:07:12I took my inspiration from the King of Couture himself, Louis XIV.
00:07:16Hmm.
00:07:17I think that the concept of classical elegance, it's really in keeping with the whole image of Lowry & Low.
00:07:26Hmm.
00:07:27Hmm.
00:07:28Hmm.
00:07:29I like how you say classical elegance rather than old.
00:07:34I must say, I'm impressed with your work.
00:07:41You have a bright future ahead of you of that, I am sure.
00:07:45Thank you, Mr. Lowry.
00:07:46That is, that's very kind of you to say.
00:07:48And if it were solely my decision, I would grant you our sponsorship right now.
00:07:54However, I have others who like to sign off on these sorts of things, publicists and whatnot.
00:08:00Of course.
00:08:01Yeah.
00:08:02No, that's understandable.
00:08:04If there's anything else that I can do to help you make a decision, then just please let me know.
00:08:10Well, actually, if you could leave this with me, I think it would go a long way toward helping them make their decision.
00:08:19Of course.
00:08:20No problem.
00:08:21Splendid.
00:08:24Thank you, Ms. Miller.
00:08:26Uh...
00:08:27Yes.
00:08:29Someone from our office will be in touch.
00:08:31Okay.
00:08:33Um...
00:08:34Okay.
00:08:41Okay, how did it go?
00:08:43I think it went well.
00:08:44Okay, you think it went well or you know it went well.
00:08:46I mean, I'm not sure.
00:08:47Oh, well, that sounds like my dating life.
00:08:49Well, maybe it's because of your sparkling personality.
00:08:52Okay, it takes a special man to handle a confident woman.
00:08:55My point is, you need to put that positive energy out there.
00:08:58So let's try again.
00:08:59Okay.
00:09:00How did it go?
00:09:01It went great.
00:09:04Are you sure?
00:09:06I don't want you to get your hopes up.
00:09:07Tyra, you're impossible.
00:09:08You are impossible.
00:09:09Well...
00:09:10No, I do.
00:09:11I actually do think it went well.
00:09:12I mean, he liked my design at least.
00:09:13Okay.
00:09:14Oh, right.
00:09:15Yeah, that's awesome.
00:09:16What's on the schedule for the rest of the day?
00:09:17Okay.
00:09:18Well, obviously there's the festival committee meeting tonight at six.
00:09:21Otherwise, you are reviewing tile and countertop samples for the Sweet Peach Cafe at 1230.
00:09:28Okay.
00:09:29At one, I'm eating a slice of cheesecake from the cafe.
00:09:32And that is...
00:09:34And that's followed by who?
00:09:36A 3.30 color board presentation for none other than Jim Price.
00:09:41Mr. Price.
00:09:42Fantastic.
00:09:43That's today.
00:09:44Yep.
00:09:45Mr. Price.
00:09:46Mr. Price.
00:10:13Ow.
00:10:15If it helps, Mr. Price, I think that the blue palette has a very nice, calming effect.
00:10:36I never really was a big fan of blue.
00:10:41Okay.
00:10:42Well, let's just eliminate that one.
00:10:44Blue is done.
00:10:46How about a more natural palette?
00:10:49It's very popular right now.
00:10:51Sort of farmhouse chic.
00:10:53No farmhouse stuff.
00:10:54That Waco couple gets on my last nerve.
00:10:57How daring is this next color palette?
00:11:02Bold pops of red.
00:11:04Very playful.
00:11:05Very playful.
00:11:06Like you.
00:11:15No red.
00:11:16It's too flashy.
00:11:17No red.
00:11:18Okay.
00:11:19We could do bold pops of green.
00:11:20And not green either.
00:11:22Okay.
00:11:23So that's no red, green, blue, or farmhouse, which still leaves us with plenty of options.
00:11:29And no purple or orange or yellow.
00:11:33No.
00:11:34And black doesn't work for me either.
00:11:36Okay.
00:11:37So that is no red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, or black.
00:11:40How about white?
00:11:41That's too dirty.
00:11:42Yes.
00:11:43Of course.
00:11:44Of course.
00:11:45It does.
00:11:46So.
00:11:47Why don't you give us a couple of days to come up with some more options based on your preferences.
00:12:07Did you get all that, Heather?
00:12:12I sure did.
00:12:15Okay, great.
00:12:16So we'll just head back to the drawing board.
00:12:20Next time I hope to see something a little more creative.
00:12:25Of course.
00:12:28Thank you so much for coming by today, Mr. Price.
00:12:31We need new clients.
00:12:34But Alice Stewart doesn't have to deal with this stuff.
00:12:38Still no word for Mr. Lowry?
00:12:41No.
00:12:42It's only been a few hours.
00:12:44I just need this wind so bad.
00:12:45I just need this wind so bad.
00:12:49Okay, so where do you want to sit?
00:13:06Anywhere is fine.
00:13:07Well, there's some seats right back here.
00:13:08Oh, no.
00:13:09Not the back.
00:13:10The middle.
00:13:11There's two seats right there.
00:13:12I know, but what if I have to pee?
00:13:13Okay.
00:13:14Okay.
00:13:15How about up front?
00:13:16Um, does the front seem to be a little obvious?
00:13:19Okay, so we need to sit anywhere.
00:13:20Listen, we're here now, so we either take a seat or do a walk of shame all the way back
00:13:24to where we came from.
00:13:25Sit.
00:13:26Just a bit.
00:13:27We'll sit.

00:25:38by the committee
00:25:39rejected
00:25:41um
00:25:43why did i not fill out the forms correctly
00:25:46i mean we're still pursuing corporate sponsorship
00:25:48we haven't
00:25:48no no
00:25:49corporate sponsorship is optional
00:25:51no i'm afraid your submission was rejected
00:25:54due to plagiarism
00:25:55plagiarism
00:25:57what
00:25:58no you must be kidding
00:26:00i wish i was
00:26:01i don't understand that's not possible
00:26:04your concept is nearly identical
00:26:06to another designer's submission
00:26:08and since they made their submission before you
00:26:11we have no choice but to accept that their design is the original
00:26:15okay but i spent months on this design concept
00:26:18i mean you can't possibly think i stole it from someone else
00:26:21what
00:26:21well perhaps plagiarism
00:26:24is not the right term miss miller
00:26:26but however you choose to look at it
00:26:28we simply cannot have
00:26:30two nearly identical designs in this festival
00:26:33now if you choose to submit a new concept by midnight
00:26:39the committee has ample time to review and accept your submission
00:26:44by midnight
00:26:45that's not enough time
00:26:47i suppose i could extend the deadline to
00:26:51noon tomorrow
00:26:53oh uh noon tomorrow
00:26:56that's that's still not enough time
00:26:58oh we hope you choose to participate in our festival

00:27:28we don't even have a sponsor
00:27:29like how are we gonna do this without any new income
00:27:32no no
00:27:32we can do this
00:27:33a very vintage christmas
00:27:35what else signifies vintage
00:27:37you have clothes

00:27:51what
00:27:51dinosaurs
00:27:53no
00:27:55a dinosaur tree would make a statement

00:27:58he's hot
00:27:59okay no more coffee for you
00:28:00okay
00:28:04give me a minute
00:28:06let's just

00:28:12of vintage
00:28:13vintage
00:28:14a season's yield of wine from a vineyard
00:28:18or alternatively
00:28:19the oldness of wines

00:41:13Okay?
00:41:14Uh, here.
00:41:15In the meantime, what we need to do today, though, is we need to sort of start to flesh out all these ideas that we have here.
00:41:19So, what do you like most about music?
00:41:32Well, what I like most about music is how it makes me feel.
00:41:36Like, I can be happy and, you know, like, dancing.
00:41:40Take set.
00:41:40Or sing along.
00:41:42Pew, pew, die, enemy.
00:41:44I challenge you to a duel.
00:41:45A sword and a laser.
00:41:47You are spinning way too many centuries, buddy.
00:41:49Oh, maybe I'll put down that you like torture.
00:41:52That's fair.
00:41:53That's, that's correct.
00:41:55Take set.
00:41:56I think that takes care of it.
00:41:57You did great, Jason.
00:41:58Thank you so much for your time.
00:42:00Jackie.
00:42:01My favorite things are animals.
00:42:03Oh, I love that.
00:42:04Do you have any pets?
00:42:07But I want to be a vet and rescue all the sad animals because nobody should have to be sad.
00:42:15That is so sweet.
00:42:19So, Scott, is it?
00:42:20What are a few of your favorite things?
00:42:26Oh, you only have one favorite thing.
00:42:29Well, do you want to tell me what it is?
00:42:33No.
00:42:34Well, if you do, I promise to make it into an ornament, especially for you.
00:42:44No?
00:42:45Well, what if you whisper it to me?
00:42:46How about that?
00:42:50Okay.
00:42:50Which ones are your parents?
00:42:51Maybe they can tell me.
00:43:00Good talk.
00:43:01Can I have a word?
00:43:04Maybe you should do this without me.
00:43:06I'm clearly out of my league here.
00:43:07What do you mean?
00:43:09No.
00:43:09Listen, I actually have to go pick up a few things.
00:43:12Can you finish the last few interviews yourself?
00:43:14Hello?
00:43:15Hello?
00:43:15Have you seen me?
00:43:17I am drowning here.
00:43:18Do not leave me.
00:43:19Heather, there's a couple more interviews and then the fun begins.
00:43:21You said this would be fun.
00:43:22Listen, I just need to go to the Christmas tree lot real quick to pick up something.
00:43:28What?
00:43:30Nothing.
00:43:31Okay, well then why are you giving me that look?
00:43:33The Christmas tree lot, huh?
00:43:34Yes.
00:43:35I need a branch for one of my ornaments.
00:43:37Oh, okay.
00:43:37Well, there are branches on the trees outside.
00:43:39What are you saying?
00:43:40I'm saying you love him.
00:43:40What?
00:43:41Oh, come on.
00:43:42That Christmas tree guy is hot.
00:43:43You know it.
00:43:44He's...
00:43:44I mean, I didn't notice.
00:43:47Okay, if you have eyes, you notice.
00:43:49He was yummy.
00:43:51Well, he was...
00:43:52He's...
00:43:53Okay, can you please just finish the interviews?
00:43:59But no, Jeff...
00:44:00Hey, bud.
00:44:06Excuse me.
00:44:23Hi.
00:44:26Hey, Ricardo.
00:44:27When you go to Mrs. Smith's, can you make sure and stick around to help her set up the tree?
00:44:31Excuse me.
00:44:32Oh, also, bring some extra garland.
00:44:34She likes putting it out on the front porch.
00:44:35Thanks, man.
00:44:37Excuse me.
00:44:37Hi.
00:44:38Uh, I'm a customer, and I would like some assistance.
00:44:41Well, hello there, miss.
00:44:43You'd like to purchase a tree?
00:44:44Why don't you just say so?
00:44:46Why don't I help you find the perfect tree just for you?
00:44:50Ah.
00:44:51Ah-ha.
00:44:52Okay, now this is the height of sophistication.
00:44:55I mean, it enjoys classical music, 16th century poetry, and has a propensity for French cinema.
00:45:03Okay.
00:45:04Ha-ha.
00:45:05Look, I'm not even trying to get a tree.
00:45:07What I really need is just some branches.
00:45:09It could be any branches.
00:45:10Just some branches that fell off somewhere or something.
00:45:13Well, unfortunately, I'm not in the business of selling just branches.
00:45:16But if you want to get a full tree, that can be arranged.
00:45:18Okay.
00:45:19Well, then what I'd like is to talk to your boss.
00:45:24You-you want to see my boss?
00:45:26Yeah.
00:45:27I want to talk to the owner.
00:45:28Please.
00:45:28Hey, listen, I'm...
00:45:30I'm really sorry, okay?
00:45:32We can just start over.
00:45:33We don't have to...
00:45:34Okay, well, I don't think you've left me any choice, so...
00:45:37Just...
00:45:37Okay.
00:45:39I'm gonna...
00:45:40I'm gonna go get him.
00:45:42It's just...
00:45:43It's just a minute.
00:45:44How you doing, ma'am?
00:45:59Brandon Holliday, third-generation owner of Holliday Farms.
00:46:02How can I help?
00:46:03You're the owner.
00:46:05Own the trees, own the lot, own the farm that the trees are grown on, so...
00:46:09Yeah.
00:46:09Okay, can I please just have some branches?
00:46:15Help me understand something here.
00:46:17Is it not hip to buy a full tree anymore?
00:46:20I mean, are the cool kids only buying branches?
00:46:22I-I really need to know, because I may need to restructure my business.
00:46:25You know what?
00:46:25I don't have time for this.
00:46:26I'll take this one.
00:46:27This scrawny little tree.
00:46:29It wasn't so hard, now was it?
00:46:32Where are you parked?
00:46:33I hope you rope it up.
00:46:34Uh, no, that's not gonna work.
00:46:35I drive a convertible.
00:46:36Not great for hauling trees.
00:46:39Of course you do.
00:46:41Uh, can someone deliver it?
00:46:43I'm happy to pay extra.
00:46:45Uh, yeah, sure.
00:46:48Just leave your address with Ricardo, and I'll make sure I can get this little guy home, okay?
00:46:53Okay.
00:46:55It was a pleasure doing business with you.
00:46:57Uh-huh.
00:46:58I'll see you later.
00:46:59I'll give gifts to the ones we love you.
00:47:02I'll ask what it is I need.
00:47:06But the only thing I can say.
00:47:09There is a little purpose to make you.
00:47:14Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
00:47:18For Christmas, not a thing you could give.
00:47:22We need more to leave.

00:53:08Hi, good to see you again, my dear.
00:53:10To what do we owe the pleasure?
00:53:12Well, I was all out of ideas the other night, and you really helped me out.
00:53:16I did?
00:53:18Yeah.
00:53:18Yeah, you showed me a side of Christmas that I haven't seen in a really long time.
00:53:22Well, I am quite the muse, don't you know?
00:53:26I even made an ornament based on you for my tree in the Festival of Trees.
00:53:43I love it.
00:53:45There's a puppy and a ballerina.
00:53:47There are feathers and daisies.
00:53:49There's popcorn and a silly hat.
00:53:52It's all the things I said I love.
00:53:54Well, I hope I didn't miss anything.
00:53:55Look at this big Christmas tree, Nana!
00:53:58You were the inspiration for my design, so you saving me was a Christmas miracle.
00:54:04Sounds like destiny to me.
00:54:07I wouldn't say it was destiny.
00:54:09I mean, I did help four other struggling artists that night, too.
00:54:14I'm a busy person.
00:54:15What?

00:54:34This is the artist lady I was telling you about.
00:54:37And look at what she made.
00:54:40It's an ornament with everything I love on it.
00:54:42Oh, my goodness.
00:54:44Let me see this.
00:54:45Whoa!
00:54:46You're not kidding.
00:54:47Those are all the things you love.
00:54:49Wait a second.
00:54:49Did you just say everything you love?
00:54:51Everything.
00:54:52Ah, what about me?
00:54:54You didn't make the cut, sorry.
00:54:57Maybe next year.
00:54:59Okay, me and you, we're talking tonight.
00:55:01Um, thank you for doing that.
00:55:05I had no idea Rachel was your daughter.
00:55:08I didn't know you had a daughter or a family.
00:55:12Yeah, I guess it, uh, never really came up.
00:55:16Well, I, I see where she gets her Christmas spirit.
00:55:19Do you two know each other?
00:55:23Uh, Jackie bought a tree from the lot, baby.
00:55:26I did.
00:55:27And it's actually right there.
00:55:32Hello, Holiday Farms.
00:55:34I've missed you.
00:55:37Hey, guys.
00:55:38Hey, Doc.
00:55:39Rachel.
00:55:40You having a party and didn't invite me?
00:55:42I want to call a party.
00:55:44More like a gathering.
00:55:46Oh.
00:55:46They all heard my voice, so they gather.
00:55:48And then you heard my voice, so you gather.
00:55:51Gathering.
00:55:52Okay.
00:55:54Gathering.
00:55:55So what have you got there?
00:55:56It's an ornament for a Christmas tree.
00:55:58Jackie made it.
00:55:59And it's based on me.
00:56:01Oh, wow.
00:56:01That is something.
00:56:03I'm her inspiration for the Festival of Trees competition.
00:56:06I'm kind of a big deal.
00:56:09Mmm.
00:56:10So you are the famous Jackie that everyone has just been raving about.
00:56:16No, I don't know about that.
00:56:17All the children you interviewed have been going on and on about you.
00:56:22They are so excited to be a part of the festival.
00:56:25I should be thanking them.
00:56:27This is one of the decorations?
00:56:28Yes.
00:56:29This one is based on Rachel and all of her favorite things.
00:56:32Oh.
00:56:34May I?
00:56:34Yeah.
00:56:35Look at this.
00:56:36Oh, my goodness.
00:56:38Such attention to detail.
00:56:40It's all handmade, with the help of my assistant.
00:56:43Wow.
00:56:43Well, we will be looking forward to the finished product.
00:56:48Brandon, do you mind if I steal you away for a minute?
00:56:52Uh, yeah.

00:57:11So, thanks.
00:57:17Hey, I promise you that I will take so many photos of the finished tree, and you're going
00:57:22to love it.
00:57:23Okay.
00:57:24Okay.
00:57:25I can't wait.
00:57:26All right.
00:57:26Don't be a stranger.
00:57:27I won't.
00:57:28Bye, guys.
00:57:29Bye.
00:57:33Hey, Jackie.
00:57:35Hey.

00:57:38Um, yeah.
00:57:39No, no, she's fine.
00:57:40I just, um, I wanted to say thank you for what you did for Rachel.
00:57:43I mean, she was blown away by that.
00:57:46Well, she is, she's amazing.
00:57:49I mean, pretty much my whole design is based on her.
00:57:55Hey, are we good?
00:57:56You know, because the other night, I just.
00:57:59Yeah.

00:58:26We're good.
00:58:40Well, I could actually, um, I could use a date for the gala.
00:59:00I mean, I don't have a date, so if you are free and it's a stuffy, like, dressy thing,
00:59:06so if that's okay with you.
00:59:10I could use a little stuffy dressy in my life, so yes, I would love to go.
00:59:14Okay.
00:59:15That's good.
00:59:16Okay, it's a date.
00:59:17It's a date.
00:59:18All right.
00:59:19Okay.
00:59:20Well.
00:59:21I'm going to go check on Rachel.
00:59:22Yeah, no.
00:59:23But you should do that, and I'm going to walk away and stop talking.
00:59:27Okay.
00:59:28I'll see you this weekend.
00:59:29Yeah, all right.
00:59:40I think we may have bitten off a little more than we can chew here.
00:59:52Nonsense.
00:59:54We're nearly there.
00:59:56What is that?
00:59:58It's a horse.
00:59:59But I know what will reboot our systems.
01:00:05What's that?
01:00:07Some of Grandma's old eggnog.
01:00:09Yes.
01:00:10Wait.
01:00:11Which Grandma is this?
01:00:13Is this the church-going one or the one who lives in Vegas?
01:00:16Oh, church.
01:00:17Oh, okay.
01:00:19Nice pour.
01:00:21That's a lot.
01:00:22That's good.
01:00:23Cheers.
01:00:24Cheers.
01:00:24That's very strong.
01:00:34I thought you said this was your church-going grandma.
01:00:36Yeah, she's the one that's bought in the old hooch.
01:00:38It's like too tasty.
01:00:41It's the time of the year
01:00:45We all smile from ear to ear
01:00:49Knowing that we'll all be gathered
01:00:54We'll have presents in hand
01:01:01In our wintry wonderland
01:01:05And the favorite songs
01:01:08We all know how to cool
01:01:11I imagine the snow falls
01:01:18Riding on the sleigh
01:01:20Even if
01:01:24Even if you don't win this year
01:01:27You will
01:01:28But if you don't
01:01:30But you will
01:01:31I'm just
01:01:32I'm really proud of you
01:01:35For putting all of this together
01:01:36Well, I couldn't have done it without you
01:01:39You are seriously the best
01:01:41No
01:01:42No
01:01:42Us two
01:01:43We've got it
01:01:45We've got it up here
01:01:47In our skulls
01:01:48And we have it down here
01:01:49In our
01:01:50In our ribs
01:01:51I'm talking brains and heart
01:01:55Money can't buy that
01:01:57And that's why Alice What's Her Face
01:01:59Is going to taste a sweet smell of losing
01:02:00Okay
01:02:01No more hooch for you
01:02:03You know what I mean
01:02:05You are going to win this year
01:02:08We are going to win this year
01:02:10Because we're a team
01:02:12Yeah, we are
01:02:14What are you doing?
01:02:28Remind me to please thank my dear old grand
01:02:30For this spectacular headache
01:02:32All right
01:02:34Here we are
01:02:35Jacqueline Miller designs
01:02:37Finally
01:02:39I don't think it was that fabulous
01:02:40Honestly, I really didn't
01:02:41I think that maybe there were five of them
01:02:43Here, here, here
01:02:44Roger, coffee
01:02:46Sorry
01:02:46I wonder where Alice's tree is
01:02:53Or what her theme is
01:02:54Oh, it's way over on the other side
01:02:55Of the sponsored trees
01:02:56Sponsored trees, yeah
01:02:59Sorry
01:03:01Listen, don't worry about her tree
01:03:03Don't worry about anyone else's tree
01:03:04Okay, ours is perfect
01:03:06And it's going to rock
01:03:07Yeah, it's just
01:03:07They had those really
01:03:08Fancy carts
01:03:10Okay
01:03:10Everything about that woman annoys me
01:03:12Well, you are so hungover
01:03:16Come on
01:03:16The holidays won't be the same
01:03:22Without you here
01:03:24Your face in every picture frame
01:03:29Reminds me, my dear
01:03:31How the season needs you near
01:03:33A little bit more than any other time of year
01:03:37Well, my heart it would break
01:03:40If you weren't here
01:03:42To harmonize a Christmas song
01:03:44The holidays just don't feel right
01:03:48Without you here
01:03:50The stockings hung
01:03:53Without yours there won't do
01:03:55So if you can't come to us this year
01:04:01There's only one thing to do
01:04:04We'll bring Christmas home to you
01:04:09In one place
01:04:27There's only one thing to do
01:04:27Though the holidays are
01:04:29Goodbye
01:04:31Goodbye
01:04:34Goodbye
01:04:34Goodbye
01:04:35Goodbye
01:04:35Goodbye
01:04:36Goodbye
01:04:36Goodbye
01:04:37Goodbye
01:04:37Goodbye
01:04:37Goodbye
01:04:38Goodbye
01:04:38Goodbye
01:04:39Goodbye
01:05:39What?
01:05:41But it's cold.
01:05:44There is not one ounce of Christmas spirit in that tree.
01:05:48Where's this?
01:05:49Hey, this.
01:05:51On the other hand, this is a tree that will make people smile.
01:05:56This is a tree that will remind people of their childhood.
01:06:00This is a Christmas tree.
01:06:02Well, you just know her tree will get more bids at the silent auction, though.
01:06:07Okay.
01:06:07If it does, it does.
01:06:10You know, actually, right now, looking at both these trees, I am glad that our original design was rejected.
01:06:16Okay, but how did she end up with your exact design?
01:06:22The only way that could have happened is if she somehow got her hands on your sketch.
01:06:27Maybe.
01:06:27But something tells me I was always meant to do the memory tree.
01:06:35And right now?
01:06:36I could not be prouder of the work that you and I did to get us this far.
01:06:40I mean, look at it.
01:06:41I think it might be some of our finest work ever.
01:06:43Is she a beauty or what?
01:06:49Such class and elegance.
01:06:51Of course it is.
01:06:52A fantastic designer designed it.
01:06:54Oh.
01:06:58It's very beautiful, Alice.
01:07:01Good luck.
01:07:01Come on.
01:07:02Oh, wait a minute.
01:07:03I didn't get to see what you put together.
01:07:07What's your theme?
01:07:09Well, it's called the memory tree.
01:07:13Sorry.
01:07:17Well, it is quaint.
01:07:20It's inspiring.
01:07:21Oh.
01:07:22Well, my darling, all art is inspiring.
01:07:25That's why we do what we do.
01:07:28Okay, I'm going to explain something to you.
01:07:31These average people that come in here for the festival,
01:07:36poor things.
01:07:38They don't know anything about style.
01:07:40They don't know what looks good or what doesn't.
01:07:43You know who they turn to for guidance?
01:07:46Me.
01:07:46Her.
01:07:47Yeah.
01:07:47Now, I, can you, I could strip these branches bare.
01:07:55And next year, it'll be considered the latest trend.
01:08:00That's all design is.
01:08:02You decide what you like.
01:08:04You tell other people it's what they want.
01:08:06Well, maybe that's what it is for you, Alice.
01:08:09And good for you.
01:08:13But one thing I've learned from the festival this year is that a true artist learns from others.
01:08:20A true artist draws inspiration from the world around them and opens their heart and mind so they can see what's important to people
01:08:28and help try to bring that to life for them to enjoy.
01:08:35Now, that's poetic.
01:08:41Best of luck to you, Alice.
01:08:43May the best tree win.
01:08:44Come on.
01:08:44I'm proud of our tree.
01:08:47Don't worry.
01:08:48It will.
01:08:49Roger, you're doing it again.
01:08:58I'll be right there.
01:09:00Oh, wow.
01:09:10I mean, good evening, miss.
01:09:12I'm here to escort the very talented, world-famous designer to her event.
01:09:16Stop it.
01:09:18Seriously, you look very gala-esque.
01:09:22Is that your tree lot salesman way of saying I look nice?
01:09:25Okay.
01:09:25I'm better with trees and people sometimes.
01:09:28But you look way better than nice.
01:09:29You look gorgeous.
01:09:31And you look very handsome.
01:09:35These are for you, by the way.
01:09:37What happened to the scrawny little guy?
01:09:39Wood chipper?
01:09:41Well, I took your advice and I decided to celebrate Christmas for myself again.
01:09:53It's beautiful.
01:09:55And you're right.
01:09:57I do feel less alone.
01:09:59Well, we should get going.
01:10:04Can't leave your fans waiting, you know?
01:10:05Yes, uh, let me just put these in some water.
01:10:07Will you grab my coat?
01:10:08Of course.
01:10:15Okay, I'm ready.
01:10:16You ready?
01:10:16Yeah.
01:10:17Let's go.
01:10:19All right.
01:10:20Let's go.
01:10:20Thank you so much for bringing me here.
01:10:26Excuse me.
01:10:27We're looking to interview some good-looking people for the news.
01:10:30You want to come with me?
01:10:31Sure.
01:10:31All right.
01:10:32Come on.
01:10:32Enjoy yourself.
01:10:33I'll be with you.
01:10:34I miss the night's by the fire.
01:10:36Cuddled up, making the time.
01:10:39It's gonna be a clearer sign.
01:10:41Oh, it looks so beautiful.
01:10:55Rachel would love this.
01:10:58Yeah.
01:10:58Oh my gosh, look at these.
01:11:00It is huge.
01:11:01So big.
01:11:02All the colors on this one.
01:11:04I love the snow tips.
01:11:05Oh, yeah.
01:11:06It's my favorite.
01:11:07Very cool.
01:11:08Come on.
01:11:21Enjoy it.
01:11:22You deserve it.
01:11:29Okay.
01:11:30Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce the very talented designer of this tree, Jacqueline Miller.
01:11:36Oh, thank you.
01:11:47Oh, my gosh.
01:11:48Yes, thank you.
01:11:49Ladies.
01:11:50Yeah, yeah, I will.
01:11:53Wow.
01:11:54That's beautiful.
01:11:55Hey, thank you for being here with me.
01:11:58So what do we have here?
01:12:00Hot Christmas tree guy.
01:12:01You finally broke the ice queen down, didn't you?
01:12:05Something like that.
01:12:06Tell me something.
01:12:09What do you do with all the leftover trees?
01:12:11Oh, we take them off to a farm where they live out the rest of their lives rocking in the wild.
01:12:15Yeah, you chip them up, don't you?
01:12:16Yeah, pretty much.
01:12:17You're a sicko.
01:12:18Are you kidding me?
01:12:19You are a piece of work.
01:12:20You know that, right?
01:12:22I'm a fixed ropper.
01:12:23That's why Jackie loves me.
01:12:27Is she serious?
01:12:28She is.
01:12:28Wow.
01:12:29I do love her.
01:12:30Okay.
01:12:30It's true.
01:12:31She's great.
01:12:33Congratulations, Miss Miller.
01:12:35Your design is really causing quite a stir.
01:12:40Well, thank you so much.
01:12:42Oh, and this is Brandon Holiday from Holiday Farms, the tree lot.
01:12:46Oh, over on Prince Avenue, yes?
01:12:48Yes, ma'am.
01:12:48That's the one.
01:12:49Yes, that's a charming little lot.
01:12:51We must talk about getting our trees from you next year.
01:12:54I would love that.
01:12:56And thank you so much for what you do with the children's health care.
01:12:59Oh.
01:12:59It means so much to the kids and the families.
01:13:00Well, that's our pleasure.
01:13:02Well, I have a lot of glad-handing to do.
01:13:05Congratulations again on your lovely tree.
01:13:08And I'm sure your auction winner will be very pleased.
01:13:11I am sure.
01:13:13Ta-ta.
01:13:17What's wrong?
01:13:19Oh, how could I have been so stupid?
01:13:22What?
01:13:23The tree.
01:13:25What about it?
01:13:26Whoever wins the auction, they get to take the tree home.
01:13:30They own it.
01:13:31Everything.
01:13:32The tree, the ornaments, all of it.
01:13:35So what's the problem?
01:13:36I thought that was the whole point of the festival.
01:13:37The problem is that I promised those children that I would give them each their very own
01:13:41ornament at the end of the festival.
01:13:44They're going to be heartbroken.
01:13:45They're going to be fine.
01:13:46It's okay.
01:13:47I promise.
01:13:47Kids are resilient.
01:13:48Trust me.
01:13:49No, I have to find Heather.
01:13:50Jackie.
01:13:50Jackie.
01:13:59Mr. Holiday.
01:14:01Dr. Stanley.
01:14:02Enjoying the festival?
01:14:04Yeah.
01:14:04Yeah, I'm good.
01:14:05It's good to see you.
01:14:06Good to see you, too.
01:14:08So, this is the final product, is it?
01:14:11Yeah.
01:14:12She knocked it out of the park, if you ask me.
01:14:14Huh.
01:14:15Better than that.
01:14:17I'd say it's perfect.
01:14:19It may be the most beautiful, meaningful tree I've seen in a long time.
01:14:25All right.
01:14:26If we could have everyone gather over toward the stage, we're going to give away some prizes.
01:14:31It's that time.
01:14:32I know the trees are beautiful, but we've got all night to look.
01:14:36Are you ready?
01:14:37Let's get those bids in, folks.
01:14:39Huh?
01:14:39Last call.
01:14:40That's my cue.
01:14:41I'll see you up there.
01:14:42Well, good evening, everyone.
01:14:44And we want to thank you all for being here.
01:14:46You know, Cindy, I say this every year.
01:14:50Oh, I know what you're going to say.
01:14:51Every festival outdoes the previous one.
01:14:54I know.
01:14:55How do they do it?
01:14:56I mean...
01:14:57Year after year.
01:15:00You know, from the committee members to the volunteers, from the designers to the sponsors,
01:15:07everybody has worked so hard to make this year the best festival of trees ever.
01:15:13And it really is.
01:15:14Another round of applause for that.
01:15:16It deserves it, doesn't it?
01:15:17I know.
01:15:17I want to keep it going.
01:15:21Okay, well, now listen, before we get to the top auction prize, Cindy, it's time to have
01:15:27a little fun.
01:15:28You ready for some fun?
01:15:29Are you ready for some fun?
01:15:32So, we are going to begin with the judges' awards.
01:15:36And the first award is for the most unique prize.
01:15:40And that award goes to Bethany Atwell for her Jurassic jingle design.
01:15:48Well done, Bethany.
01:15:49Yes.
01:15:50Congratulations.
01:15:52All right, let's see.
01:15:53Next up is Most Elegant.
01:15:57I mean, I don't feel like I even need to open it.
01:16:01Hey, have you seen Jackie?
01:16:03No, she said she was going to look for you.
01:16:05Have you talked to her?
01:16:06No.
01:16:07Most Elegant is Versailles on Holiday by Alice Stewart.
01:16:11Where did she go?
01:16:13She got more upset when she remembered the tree was getting auctioned.
01:16:17Oh, no.
01:16:18Poor thing.
01:16:18Okay, we have to go find her, I think.
01:16:20Yeah.
01:16:21And Alice Stewart, it just goes hand in hand.
01:16:24Like biscuits and gravy, folks.
01:16:25Yes.
01:16:26Like Xanax and champagne.
01:16:28Hey.
01:16:49Jackie.
01:16:50What are you doing down here?
01:16:53You're giving out the awards.
01:16:55All I wanted to do was create a tree that people would go nuts for, and then I did it, and somehow I still feel sad.
01:17:05Like, like, it was all for nothing.
01:17:11Jackie, you're putting too much pressure on yourself.
01:17:14Those kids, they love just getting to be involved with something.
01:17:18Okay, you are the only designer who even thought of them.
01:17:20That means more than any gift.
01:17:23You showed them their stories matter.
01:17:26Well, then why do I feel terrible?
01:17:30Okay, listen to me, Jackie.
01:17:32I love you like a sister.
01:17:33You know I do, right?
01:17:35Right.
01:17:36And you know I will always be honest with you, right?
01:17:39Right.
01:17:40Okay.
01:17:42You're being a drama queen.
01:17:44You were here with a hot guy.
01:17:46You made a bunch of kids, even the weird ones, very happy.
01:17:49And you have a tree that would knock the stockings off of Santa himself.
01:17:54We will figure something out about the ornaments, okay?
01:17:57But for right now, I need you to get over this little pity party you're in and get your butt back inside.
01:18:02Because so help me, if I have to miss the look on Alice Stewart's face, when you beat her this year, I will never forgive you.
01:18:10No.
01:18:11Christmas Day can be about the kids.
01:18:13Today is about winning.
01:18:15Oh.
01:18:16Okay, you're right.
01:18:19Yep.
01:18:19Yep.
01:18:21Okay, let's go.
01:18:22Well, let's do it.
01:18:26All right.
01:18:27Future reference?
01:18:31You never have to be that honest with me.
01:18:34Oh, this is wonderful, isn't it?
01:18:37Thank you all for being patient.
01:18:38Counting down from 15th place, we are now at second place.
01:18:43All right.
01:18:43And the winner is...
01:18:45Oh, Tourmaline Ice by Bob Lucy.
01:18:48That's better.
01:18:59Oh, what a beautiful tree, right?
01:19:02Lovely, lovely.
01:19:04But this is the big one, folks.
01:19:08The final award goes to the tree that received the highest bids in the silent auction.
01:19:16Cindy, it's the tree that exemplifies the theme and the true spirit of the Festival of Trees.
01:19:23That's right.
01:19:27And the winning tree is...
01:19:30The memory tree by designer Jacqueline Miller.
01:19:45Who even is that?
01:19:47You did it.
01:19:48That's amazing.
01:19:49What?
01:19:51Oh, that must be her.
01:19:52There.
01:19:53Let's get Miss Miller up here to receive her beautiful gift.
01:19:56Go get there.
01:19:56Oh, go get there.
01:20:00Oh, now we have one more piece of wonderful news.
01:20:07The memory tree just set a new record
01:20:10for the highest bid ever received in the Festival of Trees.
01:20:14Wow.
01:20:15And here she is.
01:20:20Get ready.
01:20:21Get ready.
01:20:21Woo.
01:20:22Woo.
01:20:22Woo.
01:20:22Woo.
01:20:22Woo.
01:20:22Woo.
01:20:22Woo.
01:20:23Woo.
01:20:23Woo.
01:20:24Woo.
01:20:24Woo.
01:20:25Woo.
01:20:25Woo.
01:20:26Woo.
01:20:26Woo.
01:20:27Woo.
01:20:28Woo.
01:20:28Woo.
01:20:29Woo.
01:20:30Woo.
01:20:39Um.
01:20:43Wow.
01:20:47I just want to say that as a designer, this is something that I have been dreaming of for a long time.
01:20:55But I didn't do it alone.
01:20:57I would like to dedicate this award to Rachel Holiday and to all the kids at Children's Health
01:21:06Care and to everyone, actually, that helped remind me that as great as this festival is,
01:21:13and it is so great, it's really wonderful, but a Christmas tree, it's not about its decorations.
01:21:22It's about the people who put them there, it's about the people who put them there.
01:21:30So my hope is that, uh, to the winners of all the trees, that as you are enjoying your tree in your home or in your place of business,
01:21:40that you remember to be grateful for the people gathered around the tree with you, because those memories made, that's where the real magic of Christmas happens.
01:21:55Thank you again so much.
01:22:00Wow.
01:22:01That's the true spirit, folks.
01:22:04That's the spirit.
01:22:06That's why we're all here, isn't it?
01:22:07Well, we hope that you all have enjoyed the awards ceremony tonight.
01:22:11Please take a look around.
01:22:13Check out the memory tree.
01:22:14New hot gal on the block.
01:22:16Thank you all so much.
01:22:18Good night.
01:22:19We'll see you next year.
01:22:20It's time for champagne number five.
01:22:24We did it.
01:22:25Ella.
01:22:27Mr. Lowry.
01:22:29Congratulations.
01:22:31I owe you an apology.
01:22:33Oh, you owe her more than that, Heather.
01:22:36She's right.
01:22:37I owe you an explanation.
01:22:38It seems Ms. Stewart came by my office shortly after you were there
01:22:43and convinced me to sponsor a designer who, as she put it,
01:22:49had far more experience and a reputation for class.
01:22:53If you ask me, stealing is never classy.
01:22:56Burn.
01:22:58She's right again.
01:22:59And I was wrong.
01:23:02I allowed her to look at your design.
01:23:06I never imagined being a person of class that she would steal it for her very own.
01:23:12I claim full responsibility.
01:23:15And I do hope we can still be friends.
01:23:19Well, I mean, it is Christmas.
01:23:23Yes.
01:23:24And on that note, my wife loved your tree.
01:23:27And especially the thought that went into its design.
01:23:30And she has been gently coaxing me to do a complete redesign of our offices.
01:23:37Oh, thank God.
01:23:38Heather.
01:23:39I mean.
01:23:40It is overdue.
01:23:41So if you're willing, I would like to offer you that opportunity.
01:23:47Thank you, Mr. Lowry.
01:23:49Why don't I have Heather call you next week and we'll set up a meeting at our office.
01:23:53Perfect.
01:23:53I look forward to what you come up with.
01:23:57And congratulations again.
01:23:59It was well deserved.
01:24:05You're not really going to work with him.
01:24:06Heather, you're fired.
01:24:09I'm sorry.
01:24:09What?
01:24:10You're fired.
01:24:11We're about to get a contract for all 24 floors of Lowry and Low.
01:24:16I have a hundred other business cards in my pocket.
01:24:19We're about to be very busy for a while and I'm going to need you as my head of operations.
01:24:22There are literally a million better ways to give somebody a promotion.
01:24:30I know, but this was fun for me.
01:24:32First order of business, hire us both new assistants.
01:24:35Both of us?
01:24:36Yep.
01:24:37I can't have my head of operations answering her own phone, now can I?
01:24:42No.
01:24:43No, we most certainly cannot.
01:24:46I deserve a drink.
01:24:48You do.
01:24:48Do you?
01:24:49I can.
01:24:49I'll keep this safe.
01:24:50Okay.
01:24:51Okay.
01:24:52Okay.
01:24:52I mean, do keep it safe.
01:24:54Hey, congratulations.
01:24:58Do you want to grab a late night hot cocoa?
01:25:01Yes, I do want to, but I should really get back to the hospital.
01:25:05Yeah, of course.
01:25:07You want company?
01:25:08No, no, no, no.
01:25:09You and Heather go celebrate.
01:25:11Can I come see you in the morning?
01:25:12Yeah, absolutely.
01:25:14Don't need to make an appointment now because, I mean, you're pretty popular.
01:25:17Yeah, no, I think I might be able to pencil you in.
01:25:20I mean, I'll have to check my...
01:25:21I wanted to do that for a really long time.
01:25:3020 new emails in the last half hour.
01:25:54I need an assistant just to help me hire an assistant.
01:25:57It is a good problem to have.
01:26:01Hi.
01:26:02Morning.
01:26:03Hey.
01:26:03Hey.
01:26:04A couple of snow cachinos for the local celebrities.
01:26:07Oh, you're swell.
01:26:09How's it going?
01:26:10Oh, it's great.
01:26:11I mean, the phone has been ringing all morning with new clients.
01:26:14That's amazing.
01:26:15Yeah.
01:26:16I do still feel bad about the kids and their ornaments, though.
01:26:20Well, about that, I was actually...
01:26:22Well, actually, I was thinking, uh, maybe it would be nice to give those to the kids.
01:26:28The drawings.
01:26:29Yeah, that's a great idea.
01:26:30What do you think?
01:26:35I think we should go down there right now and pass them out.
01:26:41Heather, this is a great idea.
01:26:42Okay, so we'll hand out the sketches to the kids.
01:26:45I actually think that they're going to miss.
01:26:46Yes.
01:26:58Wait, what in the what?
01:27:02Did you know about this?
01:27:04Yeah.
01:27:04Being a Christmas tree farmer has its advantages.
01:27:07Direct line to Santa and all, you know?
01:27:09That's so cool.
01:27:10I hit it.
01:27:12But how?
01:27:15It's just called a Christmas miracle.
01:27:20Hey, princess.
01:27:22Daddy!
01:27:22Hey, I missed you.
01:27:24I missed you so much.
01:27:26Wow, look at that tree.
01:27:28It's even more beautiful than I ever imagined.
01:27:30We love it.
01:27:31We love it so much.
01:27:32Well, it's really all because of you, Rachel.
01:27:34You had the Christmas mirror in you the entire time.
01:27:37I just had three.
01:27:39Seriously, how old is she?
01:27:41I'm still trying to figure that out.
01:27:43Look at what my ornament is, Daddy.
01:27:45Oh, my goodness.
01:27:47That is the best ornament ever.
01:27:49Here you go, sweetie.
01:27:50We should put it back.
01:27:58Why?
01:27:59It's yours to keep, Rachel.
01:28:02I know, but...
01:28:04The ornaments are what makes the memory tree so unique.
01:28:08Besides, I'd like to see it hanging there over Christmas.
01:28:11Well, when we're decorating the tree at home, aren't you going to miss the ornament?
01:28:21What do you mean, at home?
01:28:24Dr. Stanley called me this morning.
01:28:28And?
01:28:28And she gave us the all-clear, honey.
01:28:31You want to come home for Christmas?
01:28:33Are you for real?
01:28:35100%.
01:28:36Boom!
01:28:41Boom!
