43:42But for those of you who don't know it, here's the short version.
43:47My parents were both junior hockey coaches.
43:52And they were hit by a drunk driver when I was 12 years old.
43:57Mercifully for them, they died instantly.
43:59Mercifully for me, the St. Thomas scholarships existed.
44:06I didn't have anybody else to help me.
44:11I had a lot of memories, a love of hockey, and a huge hole in my heart.
44:15St. Thomas filled it with hope.

44:20The hope of a new family.
44:22Things, things, things weren't always easy.
44:25You know, they never are for anybody.
44:27But in hockey, I found what I was missing.
44:31First at my high school, then later at college, and now here with the Admirals.
